Cannot install or uninstall AIR

I am using Vista. I have tried all option to uninstall and
reinstall include the CMD option which comes with an error message.
As well I have tried and delete the
AIR 1.0: msiexec /x {00203668-8170-44A0-BE44-B632FA4D780F}
AIR Beta3: msiexec /x {E6672E63-6C06-4303-8F37-D8CEE82005B0}
AIR Beta2: msiexec /x {199FC15D-2E06-47BE-B3EA-CA086FCB94CF}
AIR Beta1: msiexec /x {0252F032-A08C-4EF1-9857-4F41388C8D69}
No luck. What ever I try install Air or an application the
popup window with the message : This application requires a version
of the Adobe Integrated Runtime (AIR) which is no longer supported.
I have uninstalled all air applications, cleaned registry and
still no luck the messages pops even up when I try to install a new
version of AIR.
Strange to me that the window pops up whatever I try to
do

I have downlowded the latest version. When I try to install
it a popup windows shows " Adobe Air is already install"
But have did install it before even used a uninstaller to
clean all files as well clean my registry as shown in my earlier
post.
In the .airinstall.log which I have setup the log is saying:
Performing runtime install
UI SWF load is complete
UI initialized
enter confirming
Installation type: patchSame
Then I tried to install in app. The .airappinstall.log is
always empty. Any app I try to install the apps I had already on my
laptop or when I try to download new ones the popup windows shop up
saying:
This application requires a version of Adobe Integrated
Runtime ( AIR) which is no longer supported. Please contact the
application author fir an updated version
Well I have tried apps from your website like the ebay all
off them and I have tried about 10 different once creating the
popup so there dont even get downloaded. The apps I have already on
my laptop (not installed) the same deal if I try to install the
popup shows.

  • Cannot install nor uninstall Analyzer for Excel add-in

When I try to run the Analyzer installer executable, which was downloaded directly from our BI Publisher server version 10.1.3.2, the installer only asks if I wish to UNinstall the add-in. Since I have no other choice, I say yes, thinking I can start all over. It goes through it's cute little progress bars and states that it finished uninstalling. No matter how many times I run the installer, it always asks if I want to uninstall the currently installed add-in.
The add-in does NOT appear in the list of installed add-ins inside Excel.
That's just for starters. If I open an Excel Analyzer template workbook, the 'Oracle BI Publisher' menu appears. When I try to login, it says that the add-in must be updated, so I confirm. Then it successfully connects to our BI Publisher server, and starts downloading/installing various files. But this process terminates with an error, stating that the update process failed, and I will not be able to refresh the data.
There is an entry in the Windows Add/Remove Programs utillity that corresponds to the Excel Analyzer Add-in. No matter how many times I click the Remove button, this item will not be removed from the list. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling .NET Framework 2.0 SP1 and repeating this entire process. The result is always the same. I can neither install nor uninstall the Analyzer add-in.
Is there any way to make the installer re-install the Analyzer without thinking it's already installed? Is there some utility provided by Oracle that will manually remove the mess that is Analyzer for Excel?
I HATE the Analyzer for Excel, but it's the only interface to our data warehouse that everyone is skilled enough to use.

After failing to uninstall the program again, I tried using the 'Repair' option of the XMLPReportAddinSetup.msi package. That seemed to finish normally.
So then I tried to open an Analyzer template file. It opened, but when I tried to use the 'Login' item from the 'Oracle BI Publisher' menu, it said it needed to update the add-in. Instead of updating it, I chose to UNINSTALL the program, because I thought it would now have enough pieces to complete the uninstallation. It still won't uninstall. It is still listed in Add/Remove programs.
The next time I did the whole process again, and when I got to the point where the add-in says it needs to update from the server, I confirmed. This update again failed with an error.
I still cannot uninstall the program. I noticed also that the date on the program in the Add/Remove Programs listing is from Sept 30, not today.

  • Pacman. Cannot install previously uninstalled package from cache

    Hi all.
I'm trying to install packages from shared cache to keep few machines in sync. I thought using "pacman -U --needed /path/to/cache/*" would solve it. However when I started testing I've noticed that when one package is removed I cannot install it  back that way. Pacman will just skip that package for some reason. If i use the same command but specify the the package /path/to/package/package_name or even first letter followed by * it will also install it. Why is that?

Is it possible that the '*' is expanded in some unexpected way?

  • HELP cannot install itunes, uninstall itunes or uninstall quicktime

Hello - Went to upgrade my orig ver of itunes ver 6.0 to the video version to grab some music videos, and that is when all went to ****.
Got an error message that itunes was unable to install to my PC. PC is p4 running winXP sp2/3.
    Error code: -3
Went to uninstall itunes, and got another error message that itunes was unable to complete the task with NO error code.
Also went to uninstall quicktime, and apparently the uninstall is not on my computer. I reinstalled quicktime, which was successful, but after rebooting and then trying to uninstall quicktime again, i got same error message quicktime uninstall cannot be found, quicktime cannot be uninstalled.
I did manage to get itunes successfully uninstalled.
After reboot and clearing out temp files and cache then again rebooting, then attempting to reinstall itunes VER 6.0 just the plain version for windows, NOT the video version, i again got error message that itunes was unable to install on my PC.
    PLEASE HELP.
i cannot seem to load in a successful ver of itunes to listen to music, nor uninstall/install quicktime.
    FYI -
Quicktime will not work when opened through itunes and through start menu, but will work when opened in the program and actually clicking on the .exe button.
pls help! i just want regular ver of itunes without video now, just want to listen to music what i bought, thnx

YES it is a Windows 98 based software, since i was unable to find older ver of Quicktime, i used what i had.
Incidentally, i figured out that when i went to install the Video ver of itunes, the ver 6.0 did not completely uninstall, some files were somehow corrupted.
There is a round about fix located on the windows tech support section which deleted previous Windows installer programs that in turn deletes older versions of programs, you pick from a list that the program detects, and it will delete all older versions.
Here is the link, if you know anyone that needs it..
it fixed my PC, after using this program i was able to successfully install 1st- the standalone version of quicktime, then itunes without incident.

  • Cannot install or uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support

Trying to help a friend whose original problem was she was unable to connect her ipod. When I checked devices I found it was using the microsoft USB driver. I was unable to persuade it to use the apple driver so resorted to uninstall everything as per support instructions and re-install. Had problems uninstalling something (maybe AMDS) as it kept rolling back but after several tries it went from the uninstall list after some kind of complaint about the user not being an administrator (not true).
Did not work when re-installed so tried uninstall/install again. This time it uninstalled cleanly but then failed on the install. I had a look around and most things seemed to be uninstalled OK but found that AMDS was still installed and registered as a service but had failed to start. I had no way of uninstalling it because it did not appear in the installed programs list. I thought that maybe if I could install it then I could then uninstall it. I read about splitting the install exe into seperate MSIs so did so and ran the AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi. This failed and when I subsequently ran it using msiexec I found the error was:
DIFXAPP: INFO:   Could not open file C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\netaapl64.inf_amd64_neutral_bf78 5db627c6d127\netaapl64.inf. (Error code 0x3: The system cannot find the path specified.)
DIFXAPP: ERROR:  PnP Install failed. (Error code 0x3EE: The volume for a file has been externally altered so that the opened file is no longer valid.)
When I looked in DriverStore I found that the directory netaapl64.inf_amd64_neutral_bf785db627c6d127 didn't exist but there was another netaapl64.inf_amd64_neutral but a different suffix. I thought this might be the problem so saw that pnputil could be used to remove it so did so but it still fails with the same error. At this point I thought I had better stop digging and seek help. Any suggestions other than re-install Windows 7 gratefully received.
The environment is Windows 7 64 bit and the iTunes version is 64 bit 10.7.0.21.

Just in case anybody comes across the same problem I thought I would provide an update. Unfortunately everything I tried failed and I finally had to restore the laptop to factory settings.
I tried manually removing AMDS by removing the service with sc, deleting the files under Program Files (X86)\Common Files\Apple and cleaning up the registry using ccleaner. Tried the install again but it still failed with the same error.
I then installed iTunes to another 64 bit Windows laptop (this failed claiming it was interrupted (how I love iTunes) but it had loaded AMDS). I then copied the netaapl64... directory from this machine to the failing machine (needing to take ownership and change permissions on the FileRepository directory). I then ran the install again and this time it worked !!! BUT... the AMDS service failed to start! At this point I decided to throw in the towel. It was either that or throw the machine through the window.
If anybody else ever comes to me with an iTunes problem they will be quite surprised at the reaction of someone they think of as very mild mannered!

  • Cannot install or uninstall, or launch iTunes

My father-in-law's computer has iTunes for Windows XP. At present, clicking the iTunes icon, or selecting iTunes from Start:Programs, launches an iTunes installer.
The InstallShield process runs, and the software seemingly installs OK. However, when I reboot the PC and launch iTunes, it again launches the installer.
I have tried uninstalling iTunes, but always encounter the error message, "A later version of iTunes is already on this machine. Installation cannot continue". The uninstall process quits.
I've tried removing QuickTime as was suggested in another thread, but it did not help.
I also tried downloading the current version of iTunes for Windows from the apple site, but the PC still thinks there is a more recent version and gives the same error message when trying to install the downloaded software.
It seems I am stuck. How can I stop the PC from thinking there is a later version?

all Norton's were disabled. After install, QT and iTunes worked, but iTunes worked only briefly. After a couple hours went back in and iTunes will no longer launch. only get the hourglass for a second.
is that Norton Internet Security 2005? if so, that's our prime suspect. let's try giving the trusty Lorraine M technique a whirl:

  • Cannot install or uninstall iTunes

When I tried to install the new V10.2 over 10.1.1.4 I continually got a message stating "The path to "c:.......iTunes64.msi" cannot be found. Verify that you have access to this location and try again, or try to find the installation package "iTunes64.msi" in a folder from which you can install the product iTunes.". I checked the path and the file is where it says it should be. So, I moved the file to the desktop and tried to run if from there but got the same message. So I tried to uninstall iTunes as suggested in the online support but couldn't uninstall as I got the same message. Now iTunes won't run at all. Help.

"c:.......iTunes64.msi" cannot be found. Verify that you have access to this location and try again, or try to find the installation package "iTunes64.msi" in a folder from which you can install the product iTunes.".
Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing iTunes again. Does the install go through properly now?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.

  • Cannot install or uninstall

I can't uninstall or install iTunes and i do not know why. When i run the install process, this error occurs:
    c:\programfiles\itunes\itunes.resources\fi.lproj\iphonesetup.nib\objects.xib.
I don't know how to fix this.
    Thanks

    c:\programfiles\itunes\itunes.resources\fi.lproj\iphonesetup.nib\objects.xib
That's consistent with disk/file damage, rach.
We'll first try running a disk check over the C drive. There's Vista instructions in the following document.
[Check your hard disk for errors|http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Check-your-hard-disk-fo r-errors]
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors. You'll probably need to schedule the scan to run on restart. The disk check should take quite a while to run. If it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the disk check find/repair any damage? If so, are you able to reinstall iTunes now?

  • Error 1723 - Cannot Install or Uninstall

I mistakenly installed 64 bit Java 6 Update 20 on my 64 bit computer and then realized that I needed the 32 bit since I use IE 32 bit.
I used the Control panel to unistall it, but it gives me error 1723. i tried to install 64 bit Java 6 Update 21 hoping it would over-write the problem files and then I could uninstall it. Still get an error 1723.
I tried to install J6 update 21 32 bit and it worked! ... but the control panel icon for java is a blank document. If I click that white icon, it gives an error saying Application not found. The Programs control panel now has both J6 u20 64 bit and j6 u21 32 bit but I still get 1723 error when I uninstall the 64 bit program.
I have searched the Internet. Most people say to use the Windows installer clean up but the link to that page goes to something that handles only office clean up. Elsewehere you can find people saying that Apple withdrew the cleanup utility.
Is there a utility that "completely removes all versions of Java" the way there is for MacAfee and Norton products?
Anybody have any ideas? Do I just delete a directory? What about remnants in the registry?

I was able to completely uninstall by running 'advanced system care free' - registry fix and then security analyzer (alternating - 3 x each until there was no mention of java in the lists). i then was able to run program uninstall for java from vista control panel. Finally ran a final set of registry and security analyzer passes (only required 1 pass).

  • Cannot install or uninstall iTunes 10.4

Keep getting error 1336 system error 5 Cannot write to file C:\program files\itunes\mozilla pluging\npitunes.dll Verify you have access to file. At a loss as to the problem, I verified access, tried running as administrator, tried changing install folder and all results in same error

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?
