Cannot load Exchange Online Protection commands in Remote PowerShell

My colleagues and I cannot load the Exchange Online Protection commands in Remote PowerShell.
It just loads the Exchange Online cmdlets.
Where are we going wrong?

  • Configure send connector for exchange online protection

    Hello Forum members,
I am trying to configure send and receive connectors for Exchange 2010 to route
on-premises mailboxes to Exchange OnLine Protection.  The "help" info MS provides
is for Ex 2013 - and the EAC GUI and config does not lend a close fit to using the 2010
Exch Management Console.  How can I configure connectors to properly connect to the Exchange Online Protection?
I have seen where the ip addresses are posted, etc.  I am unclear how to configure the properties on the SBS 2011/EX 2010 server.
    Any tips will help,
    Thanks,
    Eric H.
    Network and Server Installs

    Hello Wesleyhe,
You cannot use AD anything with EOP - if you mean exchange on-line protection.
you have to set a smart host on the SBS server to connect to EOP, you may need to add the EOP server ips to your network config
on the SBS server.  the smart host line (for the send connector on SBS server) is something like: yourdomainname-com.mail.protection.outlook.com.
Then you need to configure the outside ip for your SBS server access in the EOP admin area.
    Hope this helps.

  • Exchange Online Protection and Public Folders

    Hi,
We have just been migrated to Exchange Online Protection from FOPE and although users can now manage their own quarantines, they cannot do this for Mail Enabled Public Folders. Is this possible?
    Many Thanks

    Hi Paul,
I replied to a post from you in another thread. It's easy to miss though, so here's what I said:
"You should tell mail2web that there is an option in Exchange to hide public folders from IMAP clients. I'm an IT manager at a large software company with 50% of our users on Macs. We turned on the option to hide public folders from IMAP clients a while ago, long before the iPhone. It's worked very well and continues to work for iPhone people (like me!).
There was no reason for us to make public folders viewable via IMAP, so hopefully the same will be true for mail2web."
I'm actually really glad that Apple made this change. I want to see most of the folders at the inbox level in Exchange and with the Exchange switch turned on to hide public folders, there's no downside.

  • Exchange Online Protection (EOP) instead of EDGE server ?

Hi, we have Exchange 2010 with HUB server in LAN and EDGE in DMZ. There is an EDGE subscription on HUB and we use EDGE Sync.
We have Forefront Protection 2010 for Exchange (FPE) installed on EDGE. Our license for FPE is coming to end and because FPE is discontinued we want to replace FPE by EOP as SPAM filter and AV for our on-premises Exchange 2010.
What is the best practise in my scenario?
Should I omit EDGE 2010 server and create send and receive connectors on HUB server for direct connection to EOP? Is EOP replaces the EDGE 2010?
    or
Uninstall FPE on EDGE 2010 server and create on it send and receive connectors for direct connection to EOP?

    Hi,
We can run the Windows Azure AD Sync Tool Configuration Wizard to set up directory synchronization. It would
synchronize user accounts in an on-premises Active Directory environment to Windows Azure Active Directory (AD), where a copy of those accounts are stored in the cloud.
Then we need to set up an Outbound connector and an Inbound connector to enable mail flow between Microsoft Exchange Online Protection (EOP) and your on-premises mail servers. Here are some references about
directory synchronization and mail flow processing through Exchange Online Protection below:

  • Can Exchange Online Protection work with Exchange 2010 on-premise

I want to keep my current Exchange 2010 server but switch to Exchange Online Protection for anti-spam.
    Is that possible?
    Without doing any AD/Azure sync?

Yes to both.  With directory synchronization you can have the added benefit of blocking mail to nonexistent recipients.

  • Forefront to Exchange Online Protection - Notification Issue

So I guess we converted awhile back to EOP, but I wasn't with the organization.  The problem I have is, when I remove the sync tool off our server, I keep getting notifications that things arnt in sync etc.  Clearly they are because we are using
    the Azure tool now.
I found our group email below in the old system (forefront admin center) but I can't edit it or remove it.  Any ideas on how to stop these emails!? Thank you!'

So I guess since I started this thread I will respond to it to help everyone else out. I hadn't gotten a response in a week so decided to take matters into my own hands.
We were migrated over to Exchange Online Protection like I'm assuming you others have.  What I ended up doing was logging into the EOP portal and going to service requests or support or whatever on the left hand side.  I put in a ticket to Microsoft.
They ended up escalating it to the FOPE team who then reached out to me via email and asked a few other questions to confirm what I was doing.
They ended up taking care of it for me and we havn't gotten any notifications since.
Hope this helps!! Let me know if you have further questions.

  • Exchange Online Protection

    Hello!
I'm trying to configure hybrid deployment of Exchange 2010 and office 365 according to the article on MSExchange.org. I'm stuck with part three (http://www.msexchange.org/articles-tutorials/office-365/exchange-online/using-hybrid-configuration-wizard-exchange-2010-service-pack-2-part3.html).
I don't know the IP address of the Exchange Onlinbe Protection server.
I've bought exchange Online Plan1, so I suppose we can use Online Protection.
Where can I found the particular IP addres of Exchange Online Protection Services?
    Thank you in advance,
    Moiseev Anton.

    I've found the answer: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh510075.aspx
According to the information that I received from MS HelpDesk you can use any addres from those ranges. I personally didn't test it yet, because I stuck with the public certificate request.

  • What is the fastest way to remove blacklisted IP from Exchange Online Protection Services?

    Hello,
We have recently added new ISP and unfortunately, if we try to send an email to any customer who is using Microsoft Online Protection Services the email is bouncing back indicating that our new IP is blacklisted by Microsoft. In order to remove, we have
    to send an email to
    [email protected]
Is there any telephone number I can reach their support?
    Thanks,

I have probably bad news, this e-mail is only valid option to delist currently without direct support contract with Microsoft (when using Office 365 or so).
Sent e-mail to this contact and also check mxtoolbox.com if your ISP is also not blocked somewhere else and why.

  • Inconsistent behavior of "where" filter command in remote powershell session

I've got a simple powershell script I've written to do a gpo backup (backup-gpo) to a remote file share, and then I launch a remote powershell session with "invoke-command" where I zip up the results of the gpo backup, then delete the gpo
backups once the files are safely zipped.
What I'm seeing, and I've never seen before, is very inconsistent results in the file filtering statements.  I use the following line twice in my code to find the files written by the GPO backup:
     Get-ChildItem -Force | ? {($_.lastwritetime.date -eq (Get-Date).date) -and ($_.name -notlike "*.zip")}
The first time it finds the files to zip, the second time it finds the files to delete.  It's a copy/paste, so it's the exact same code.
The weirdness that happens is some nights, it works fine, and both filters match what they should.  The GPO backup results are found, zipped, and then deleted.  Other nights, the first filter will match all old *.zip files (the exact
opposite of the filter), and zip them up - then the "delete" filter, which is the exact same code, will match correctly and delete the GPO backup results that should have been zipped but weren't.
Last night the first filter matched correctly, and then the second filter matched the date portion of the filter, ignored the *.zip portion, and deleted everything in the target folder from that day.
    Anyone seen anything like this?

  • Exchange 2013 SP1 and Exchange Online Protection (EOP)

Hello, I have just set up a new install of Exchange 2013 and connected mail flow with EOP. Mail is flowing, and I can access emails through the Outlook Web App. However, I cannot get Outlook 2013 to link up to the new configuration. I got Outlook for Mac
to work, no problem. But, I get an error on outlook 2013 that says it must sync folders for a first time to open.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hi
Use another user to test, check whether he can use Outlook to access his mailbox or not?
If this user also cannot connect to his mailbox, I suggest you go to check whether all the Exchange services are started, make sure RPC client access service is started.
You do need to replace the self-signed certificate.
If you don't want to buy a certificate from a Third-Party Issuer, then install Windows CA and issue a certificate from there.
Even if it does work with the self-signed certificate using Outlook 2007, it is not a supported configuration and you will not be able to connect with Outlook 2010/2013.
I have seen new installation of EX13 having SSLOffloading turned on causing the problems. Turn if off if you do.
Set-OutlookAnywhere -Identity 'SERVERNAME\rpc (Default Web Site)' -SSLOffloading $false
Let us know the output of the above so that we can proceed further.

  • Bulk User creation Exchange Online Protection standalone

    Hi,
We have on premise Exchange 2013 servers and we're planned to go for EOP only for SPAM filtering. I have couple of questions with EOP:
When we create bulk user accounts from a CSV file do we need to Allow users to sign in to EOP?
what will be the EOP address for On-Premise send connector(send emails from the organization)? and how to get it?
is there any proper step by step guide to setup EOP standalone?
    Thanks..
    Roshan

You don't need to allow sign in today, but in the
future there will be a personal
    quarantine for users.
set the value to the MX record given to you during EOP setup, such as <your organization>-com.mail.protection.outlook.com.

  • Cannot load exchange email on Imac

    Hello,
I am new to mac computers but have an Iphone and a ipad, both of which i have no problems connecting to the exchange server.  My IT guy said Imac cannot connect to the exchange server for mail.  Why would this be?  Seems like it should be able to do it.  I've tried every which way but nothing works.  Is my IT guy right?  Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Maybe yes, maybe no... probably no.
    But...
What version of Exchange server does your organization use? Are you using Mac Mail (what version of OS X) or Entourage, or Outlook (what version of MS Office is installed if any)?

  • Exchange Online Protection Standalone for Exchange 2013 On-premise

    hello:
I'm about to deploy Exchange server 2013 on-premise for my company and we are going to subscribe EOP standalone. After reading the description from technet
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj723119(v=exchg.150).aspx , I'm confuse about how am I going to manage user.
    1. Do I need to have ADFS,DirSync server ready on my local datacenter to synchronize user with EOP?
    2. I just need basic spam filtering feature, will EOP work with Exchange 2013 on-premise without having ADFS & DirSync?
    Thanks.

If your deployment is not hybrid then you won;t need Dirsync.

  • Opportunistic TLS between our Exchange 2010 SP3 on Premise (WIth Edge) and Exchange Online Protection.

    Hi,
We would like to configure Opportunistic TLS between our Exchange 2010 SP3 On Premise Systems (with Edge) and EOP.
I can see that Opportunist TLS is enabled on both the send and receive connectors in EOP. SO I think no change required here.
The On premise Send Connector (Configured by EdgeSync) does not have the option for Opportunistic TLS. Under "Configure Smart Host Authentication Settings" it is currently set to "None". I have the option for "Basic Authentication
over TLS" but this requires a Username and Password. No option for Opportunistic TLS. When I look at the properties of the send connector (get-sendconnector "sendconnector_name" | fl) I
can see that the IgnoreSTARTTLS parameter is set to FALSE - so I think that means it is enabled. So I think no changes required here- right?
The receive connector on the Edge Server has the TLS option on the Authentication tab - so I guess I just check that option right?
The Edge servers also run TMG and the two are integrated. I don't think this changes anything but thought I would include it in case it does.
    Anything I have missed?
    Thanks very much.
