Cannot open downloaded books in iBook library I could before
If you haven't already done so then try closing the iBooks app via the iPad's multitasking bar and then do a soft-reset and see if you can then open the books. To close iBooks : Bouble-click the home button to open the taskbar, and then swipe or drag the iBooks app's screen from there up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.
Soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
If you still can't open them then copy your ibooks over to your computer's iTunes library via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases (that will copy epubs and/or PDFs in the iBooks app, not just actual ibooks ; you might also be able to redownload ibooks via the Purchased tab in the iBookstore in the app), delete the app from your iPad, and then redownload the app and sync your books back - deleting the app will lose any notes/highlights that you have in your books

Yes, I did this and it worked fine after that. I also noted that ibooks is available for download as an Iphone ap or an Ipad ap. I believe it is the same ap, but that could also be the problem.

I cannot open open purchased books fro ibooks, a window pops up saying "failed to load book because the requested resource is missing" not sure what has happened, extremely frustrating.....does it have something to o with icloud?
Quit the iBooks app completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logou appears and let go of the button.
Or try deleting the book and download it again. You can download it again for free as long as you use the same Apple ID.
If that doesn't work either, sometimes deleting the iBooks app and reinstalling it may work. But art with the first two suggestions. -
As with my question I am having problems opening some PDF's in iBooks, some do some don't, what they do is flash open then close, anyone can help or advise ?

I just bought an iPad air and tried to purchase books in ibooks. After download and trying to open book I get the message "cannot open "storm front" it is formatted incorrectly, or is not a format that ibooks can open. I get the same message on my iPhone. What is up? Please help.

Hi,
I downloaded Adobe Digital Edition, signed up, downloaded books. Then I add Kobo and add book in the Kobo library in Adobe Digital Editions program. I syncronized my Kobo with my computer. But still I cannot open books in Kobo. I get the same problem message, "... and is not currently authorized for use with your Adobe ID. Please sign-in with the authorized Adobe ID and try again."
What should I do?i have the exact same problem and adobe customer support offered zero help. i'm going to call them tomorrow and make them figure this all out. i was online with them this evening and had the rep delete my adobe id, in case ade was being snarky about my new device, even though it's the exact same ereader, just a new one. not even upgraded. the number i have is 1 800 833 6687. i read in another thread that having them delete the account and starting a new one does work, but it takes 5-7 days for the account to delete. it's as though adobe doesn't even care about its users or their problems with the software. the rep i spoke to this evening- and this is the third time i've contacted adobe about this exact same unresolved problem- referred me to the forums- the site of unanswered questions. my hope is that enough people will call in with this exact same problem and force adobe to resolve it. my kobo touch is pretty much useless until my adobe id resets. i only used it for library books

If the book won't open then try deleting it from the bookshelf and re-download it via the Purchased tab in the ibookstore in the iBooks app and see if you can open that.

i bought an eBook from iTunes. I can view/read it perfectly on my iPhone but when I try to open the eBook file on my iPad, I get the error message, "Cannot open book. This book is protected by an incompatible technology." Any ideas for me? thx

I have seen previous versions mentioned in a pop up message before on iCloud.com, but I'm not really sure at all how it would help, as I couldn't get it to do anything.
The best advice I have at this time is to back up your work on your iOS device by regularly saving it to iTunes, if anything goes wrong you can then either load it into the numbers app again on the device or recover it via iTunes on your computer.
My syncs are immediate, I never get chance to see if it works in the background, sorry. -

I have seen this issue occur with users who have this registry setting missing or have improper permissions.
When you double click the attachment to launch the pdf it is saved and opened from the temporary folder unless saved specifically to a location.
If you dont have the below mentioned registry key or improper permissions then attachments fail to open.
Please heck if the following reg key exists:

I have installed the beta version of 6.1 a month ago and now i cannot open my iphone 5 it needs regestration and when i try to register it says that it couldnt complete and i need to register in the developer what can i do now to reopen my device?
Probably wasn't a good idea to install beta software on a device when you're not a developer.
Apple clearly states that beta software is not to be installed on production devices.
Not really much you can do except wait for iOS 6.1 to be officially released and then install it. -

I am playing in Pogo and cannot open the games even though the homepage and others will open. The message is THE CONNECTION WAS RESET WHILE THE PAGE WAS LOADING.

Sometimes when I open a link in a new tab and then switch to the tab, the address bar clears and I'll have to re open the tab and hope that doesn't happen again. Sometimes this happens again and again. Most of the times if I just open the link in a new tab and don't switch to it, this won't happen. But as I switch too the tab, the text would disappear and the link wouldn't open.
