Is this a problem with the Linux OS or with Firefox?
Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program directory before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

  • I need to know 'How do I put back The Menu Bar where it was on Top where it belongs with browser bar is now??.

    I repeat my question: "How do I put 'The Menu Bar' back where it was before. What I mean by The Menu Bar is: File,Edit, Format, View, Help it is on top where the Browser arrow is!!. I don't know how to put this Menu Bar where is belongs...

    Right click up where the menu bar should be, it will have a list of options. You will see menu bar as the top option. Just click it and it will check it off and reappear.

  • Cannot display date in menu bar

    For some reason, my computer (in OS 10.3.9) will only display the date & time in the floating window (by checking the box to display date & time and selecting the button to display in window thru system preferences), but won't display the date & time in the menu bar (even though it should since the menu bar button is selected in the system preferences).
    This seems to be a bug in OS 10.3.9 that has not been fixed yet. Has anyone had this problem and been able to fix it?

  • Cannot click bookmarks on menu bar after ALT-key when menu bar is hidden

    If you personalize the toolbars, dock the "Bookmarks objects" to the menu bar (useful to reduce space) and hide the menu bar (making it visible by pressing the ALT key) you're not able to click a bookmarks bar's item anymore because (after having shown it by pressing ALT key) as you click the bookmark button the menu bar loses focus causing the whole bar to be hidden again and the click event to be catched by the main window instead of the bookmark button.
    [http://alextm.no-ip.com/bookmarks_on_menubar.JPG Screenshot of the header with bookmarks]

    With F10 you obtain the same result, the menu bar is shown but when you click on a non-menu item the bar is hidden again not allowing the bookmark item to catch the click event.
    Of course I know how to move the bookmarks bar back to the tab bar, but it is not a solution to the problem I've posted, just a workaround. As I've said in my previous post I've moved the bookmarks bar there to limit the height of the window's heading section: if I move it down again I miss my target.
    Anyway, I don't think we are here to decide wherever to place the bookmarks bar, but to notify to the developers the presence of this issue.

  • My battery cannot be added to menu bar in menu extras snow leopard. Why?

    I go to menu extras folder and double-click battery.menu and nothing happens. I do not have a battery icon up above in the menu bar. Why won't double-clicking battery.menu add that?

    Because you use an iMac and they don't have batteries other than the battery used for PRAM. If you have a notebook like an MacBook Pro or MBA then please post in the correct forum.

  • How can i put on my menu bar spotlight ??

    at the begining spotlight was on the menu bar of desktop.. then after installation of lion osx the spotlight bar desappeared from the bar menu and now i can see only my login name

    It's a lot easier to use the keyboard shortcut which is Command - Spacebar.

  • The menu bar seems to be there but I cannot open it when I click on it, Why?

    I see the menu bar which seems to be separate then the window but when I click on it nothing happens. It's not just a problem with my computer I checked other programs and there seems to be no problem. I have a macbook pro.
    I was just wondering why I cannot click on the menu bar.

    It's possible that the desktop shortcut is corrupt. To create a new one, please follow these steps.
    #Right click the existing shortcut and go to Properties.
    #Then click the button called ''Find Target'' which will take you to '''firefox.exe'''.
    #Delete the existing desktop shortcut.
    #Right click and hold down the right mouse button while you drag firefox.exe out of its folder and onto the desktop. When you let go of the right mouse button, you'll get a menu. Choose '''Create Shortcut Here'''.
    I believe the "Find Target" button has changed in Windows 7, but I can't recall what it's called now.

  • Spry menu bar extra space

    I have put a spry menu bar into Dreamweaver and everything is working except there is a small space on the left of the submenus inside the submenu border.It's kind of hard to see because everything is blue, but if you look closely you can see it.
    I have played around with the css (and probably messed a few things up along the way), but I cannot seem to get rid of this space.

    Yes, I noticed the left margin after I had posted the reply. I guess I am doing my name proud with old age setting in.
    I left the document and the CSS file as you had it and added the following style rules to correct the situation.
    You can choose
    add these to your document after the link to SpryMenuBarHorizontal.css
    add these to the bottom of SpryMenuBarHorizontal.css
    adjust the style rules within SpryMenuBarHorizontal.css to reflect the changes.
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal li {
    margin-left: 0;
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal ul li {
    width: 8.2em;
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal ul ul {
         margin: -5% 0 0 95%;
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal ul.MenuBarSubmenuVisible ul.MenuBarSubmenuVisible {
         left: auto;
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal a {
         padding: 0.5em 2.75em;
    The highlighted values in the last style rule can/must be adjusted to suit.

  • How do I get banner & Spry Menu Bar to appear on every page?

    Hi,
    I am a new user of Dreamweaver CS6 an a relatively new user to website development in general.
    I just followed along through Davide Powers "Creating your first website" tutorial series and found it to be very helpful.  I made it through all six parts and managed to get the Check Magazine sample website up and running.  I now want to use what I learned to creat my own site, and I am stuck already.
    The tutorial does a great job of explaining how to setup a Spry Menu Bar to use for navigation.  The tutorial, however, only shows how to put this Spry Menu Bar on the main index.html page.  For my actual site, I would like my navigation bar (and my banner) to appear on every one of my pages.
    Can anyone here tell me where I can find instructions on the best way to do this?
    My navigation requirements are very simple.  I just want a common banner with navigation buttons to appear at the top of every one of my pages.  The Spry Menu Bar that was created in the tutorial would work great for me assuming I can find a relatively simple way to get it (along with my banner) to appear at the top of every one of my pages.
    If it is very complicated to get it to appear on every page (or would require a large time investment in learning advanced techniques), then I would consider passing on the Spry Menu Bar and trying to setup my navigation in a simpler (if more old-fashioned) way.
    Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Paul

    If a small, 4-5 page site,  make a prototype page with all your columns, headers, footers, menus, etc...  and go to  File > SaveAs index.html,  and then File > SaveAs > page1.html,  and then File > SaveAs page2.html, etc...
    Or you can save your prototype page as a Dreamweaver Template (.dwt file).  Add editable regions for stuff that will change from page to page.  Everything outside editable regions is common to all site pages. Then use your Template to spawn site pages.  File > New > Page from Template, index.html, page1.html, page2.html, etc....    DW Templates are nice site management tool.  But before you use them, read all you can about them in F1 Help as they can be a little tricky to master.
    Last but not least, look at Server-Side Includes. They're a huge time saving feature. I use them on every site I build.

  • Is it possible to change the height of Spry Menu Bar items?

    I'm new to websites and have been trying to understand the CSS of the Spry menu bar. I've managed to put a horizontal menu bar in place and with the help of some previous discussions in this forum, have changed the colours of the menu items and have even managed to centre the text - Thanks!
    However, I really would like to have a smaller menu bar - height wise.
    I've tried reducing the default height of the menu bar items by adding a height and by reducing the font size and padding. The results have been varied.  In Firefox and in Dreamweaver's 'live view' there is still a thin line showing underneath my horizontal menu which is the background colour of the div my menu sits in.  In IE there is a similar 'chunk missing' from the bottom of the items.
    Is this something that can be done?  I've seen lots of help on how to change the width of the items, but have not found any which suggest that the height can be changed.
    Gill

    Sure. You just need to be thorough. Keep in mind that in a Spry Menu Bar you are making the link-text in the list-items block elements, so you will want to change the line-height of the a element. Pick style selectors in the css stylesheet that end in a, with or without an additional class (a.classhere), and play with the line-height.
    Another attribute you can consider is the difference in height between Cap and lower case and All caps. You can usually get away with a smaller line-height and a smaller font-size with all caps, because there are no descenders on the text to require more line-height. Keep in mind also that when you state a line-height, your text will center vertically in the line-height, as far as I know, so you might even get away without top and bottom padding.

  • Spry Menu Bar transparency problem - one solution

    Like many other people I have spent several frustrating days trying to solve the problem of Spry Menu Bar sub-menus appearing to be transparent (text, etc. underneath the sub-menus shows above/through the sub-menu items). This problem manifested itself in IE7, but not in Netscape, Safari or Firefox.
    I thought it must be the dreaded IE z-index problem.
    I have been through most other people's questions and replies on the Adobe forums, tried all kinds of z-index changes and various other mods to my own CSS and/or the Spry CSS's - all to no avail.
    My situation:
    I have a Spry Menu Bar above a clicktrail and a text block. Both the clicktrail and the text block showed through the sub-menu items, which drop-down over them.
    All three items are located in relative-positioned divs, necessary because the whole page design is contained in a self-centralizing container div and absolute-positioned divs screw up the whole page layout when the screen size or browser window size changes.
    (Sorry, I can't upload the files to a website at the moment.)
    The solution that works for me in Dreamweaver CS4:
    I selected the divs for the clicktrail and the text block, one at a time, and selected Modify > Arrange > Send to Back in Dreamweaver CS4.
    I then selected these two items again and selected Modify > Arrange > Bring to Front.
    Finally I selected the div containing the Spry Menu Bar and selected Modify > Arrange > Bring to Front. The thought behind this was that this would put the Spry Menu Bar on top of everything else - and it works!
    This solution works in all four browsers, but don't ask me how! I can't see any change in any CSS, nor in my template code. All I can see is a strange, flashing vertical line (like an enormous cursor - about 10 cm [3"] high) in the middle of the template page only (and only in Dreamweaver) if I click on the page background. I can neither find an explanation for this nor anything in the coding which might cause it. By the way; the z-index for the menu div =2, the z-index for the clicktrail div is not defined and the z-index for the div for the text block is set to auto. I haven't tried other values and to be honest I'm not sure what they were set to before I applied the above 'solution'.
    But hey - who the hell cares - my site works!
    I hope this helps someone else out of an absolute hell-hole...if someone out there can explain where to find the code that had been changed or added by doing this I'd like to know. I don't like things I can't explain - even if they do work!

    This is where the browser is told to supply a white background
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal a
         display: block;
         cursor: pointer;
         background-color: #fff;
         padding: 0.5em 0.75em;
         color: #333;
         text-decoration: none;
    Vhange the value to transparent.
    Also the last line int the CSS should be removed as in
    filter: "alpha(opacity=60)";

  • Horizontal menu bar height and formating

    I'm trying to put a horizontal menu bar into a table cell
    that's 507px wide by 21px high. I've run into two issues.
    First, adding a Spry MenuBar to this cell causes it to grow
    by 1px in height and thus throwing off all of my graphics in other
    cells. Setting the height in ul.MenuBarHorizontal to 21px does not
    change this (20px, auto, inherit didn't change it either). I've
    tried smaller fonts. Any ideas on how to get this work?
    Second - if I don't set the height to a pixel value in
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal, my background image is only displayed behind
    the menu items. That leaves a good bit of white space. My
    background image is 1px wide by 21px high and is stretched to fill
    the full background. Setting a height will make the background
    image cover the complete cell. Is that a feature?
    thanks,
    Dan

    If I change the positioning element in ul.MenuBarHorizontal
    to absolute, my horizontal menubar fits within the cell and does
    not cause it to grow. Any other setting for positioning throws off
    the cell size and screws up my sliced graphics in other cells of
    the table. I don't understand why the menubar shifts in a fixed
    width/height cell. If it's set to static or fixed, the cell grows
    by 1px in height. If it is set to relative, it grows much
    larger.

  • Dock functionality in menu bar?

    Does anyone know of any 3rd party app or Leopard hack that allows for some of the dock functionality to be replicated on the menu bar? It would be great to have an icon on the menu bar that when clicked shows all the applications from the dock including running applications. This would help when the dock is hidden.
    Thank you!

    [Butler|http://www.petermaurer.de/butler> can do just that (show running apps). You can also configure it to show the same apps that you've got in your dock but there is no auto syncing. you have to add and remove the apps to that menu by hand. However, I agree with baltwo - unhiding dock is much quicker. I use Butler as an app launcher but I never bother with that particular menu that Butler put in my menu bar.

  • Spry Menu Bar Java Error

    I just put a Spry Menu Bar, but am having issues with it. It seems to function just fine, but I am getting issues when I am trying to edit the properties. I keep getting the error
    "When executing inspectSelection in spry_menubar.htm, a JavaScript error occured"
    I am not sure where I have gone wrong. I have tried deleting the Spry Menu Bar and doing it again, but I still run into the errors.

    which version of SpryMenuBar are you using
    which properties did you try to edit
    does the error occur in DW or in the browser
    if the error occurs in DW, which version of DW are you using
    if the error occurs in the browser, which browser and version are you using
    which operating system are you using
    have you included a DOCTYPE declaration and which one
    etc, etc, etc.....
    Of course you could send a link to your site and not have to bother about answering the above questions.

    Try to edit the size of the page using the sides of the page, or if you are desperate, force quit using command-Q. In full screen put your cursor on the top of the page, and the menu bar will appear. If it doesn't keep "pushing" it up until it does. Hope this helps!
