Cannot save or download anyfiles since upgrading to Firefox 5 for Mac OSx

I cannot download any type of file since upgrading to firefox 5 -- .doc, .pdf, .dmg (just a few examples) -- All I get is a three .part files. These files never join and cannot be manually joined. I have tried every tip at the following URL and it did not fix the problem.

Firefox 3.6.4, 3.6.6 and now 3.6.7 have the same problem: Save Page or Link not working after clean installation of the above versions or even with Firefox in Safe Mode: Firefox Not Responding. Last version working normally is 3.6.3.
Is Mozilla checking this Forum? Should we drop using Firefox?

HELP! I've upgraded to Firefox 12 (Mac OSX 10.7.3) and everything has gone wrong.

My Fast Dial add-on has disabled and won't reinstall or function as it used to.
When I quit Firefox my tabs won't restore when I reopen Firefox.
The bookmarks toolbar has disappeared and wont' reappear however much I click View>Toolbars>Bookmarks Toolbar.
There's other issues as well. It's too depressing.

After upgrading to FF4 for Mac OSX.5.8 the Flash-based website builder WIX will not register any keyboard inputs; eg i cannot type in a title or use command+z to undo something, Why is this?

I am using a MacBook Pro with OSX.5.8 installed. I just upgraded to FF4. I have been previously using the online website builder WIX and now when i open up my website to edit it in a separate browser window it does not register my keystrokes. I can edit with the mouse and make changes but i cant type in any titles or names for save files or anything. Shortcut keystorkes like command+z also do not work.

My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now. About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

I have just downloaded the latest version of Firefox for Mac OS10 & when I try to launch it, it tells me it cannot be opened.

I am using a dual processor Power Mac running OS 10.4.11. The version I downloaded says it does not support this system.

Problem downloading VLC 2.1.4 update for mac osx

I received an update message from VLC that their latest 2.1.4 update was available and it launched an update window. Every time I try to update, an error message appears and says to try again later. When I go to VLC's site and try to update, it shows that my browser, Safari, can't connect to that server. I've tried searching the web for others experiencing this problem and have found nothing. Seems odd that there wouldn't be some dialogue if this was a problem affecting others. Maybe it hasn't been a problem for others. This occured on Friday night and has continued through today. Looking for any input.

Running the latest 2.1.3 version of VLC. They have had a few updates in the past few months and every update has worked problem free. Not until now has there been an issue. I've tried the update process via the drop down menu under VLC search for updates (update within the app) as well as going to VLC's site and clicking on the download button. " Error message" appears when using the update within the app and "Safari cannot can't connect to the server" window when using the VLC site. Security & privacy settings show allow apps downloaded from Mac App Store and identified developers. Not a big deal guys and thanks for the input. Apparently not a problem among the collective. It appears to be a problem with my computer.

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third party version of Firefox 4 that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox

I try to download Firefox for mac (OSX 10.7.5), and it looks like it is being downloaded (on Safari) but there is no file in the download folder, and no invitation to drag the icon to the applications window. Checked desktop, applications, and documents folder. It just isn't there.

It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

I haven't heard of any similar message before. In your "More system details..." it lists two different Adobe PDF plugins, version 8 and version 9. You may have a conflict there, especially if the older one isn't disabled. You could try to disable it here:

If that doesn't help... Adobe Reader and the plugin have been updated to version 10. but Are you willing to upgrade Adobe Reader to see whether that fixes the problem?
