Cannot see profile

Hi.
After recent clone, I am unable to see the profile of a user.
appcldev@TEST:more .profile
.profile: A file or directory in the path name does not exist.
I source the env file but still cannot see the profile of this user. Is there somewher else I should be going?
Also, how can I configure the user's profile (once I can see that profile) so that we dont have to manually source the environment file everytime we log on?

Env file has nothing to do with the User profile.
For your requirement, you need to add what all you need to source when the user log-in in .bash_profile file found under the user home directory. It's a hidden file;
ls -a displays the file.
oh..missed the AIX part, i guess the file name is .profile. You should find this in the user home directory. If this doesn't exist, copy one from /etc/security to the user home directory.

Using Structural profiles - cannot see withdrawn people

Gurus,
I've got a problem using authorization profiles: I cannot see withdrawn people and I need to be able to see them because people are re-hired constantly. The authorization profiles works fine only with active people. ¿What can I do?
I have tried implementing the BADI HRPAD00AUTH_CHECK but it is only working with PA20, PA30, PA40 but not with standard reports.

Hi again,
I think the problem is that you use 4. This effectively turns off the check. Use switch 3 and see if this helps (this is what we use, and it works fine).
Here iks some additional documentation on the different switches:
1: If an organizational unit is assigned in infotype 0001, the check is against this orginazational unit. If not organizational unit is assigned, the authorization is denied.
2: The organizational unit is not evaluated. The authorization is denied.
3: If an organizational unit exists, the check is against this organizational unit. If no organizational unit is assigned, the authorization is granted.
4: The organizational unit is not evaluated. The authorization is granted.

PS - have you checked that a retired person still has the org.unit in IT0001? He should have PLANS 99999999 and have his last org.unit in field ORGEH.

My friends cannot see my profile changes

Since the last skype update when I change the information in my profile there is nowhere for me to save the changes and as a result my contacts cannot see the changes. I have moved countries so would like to be able to update all my contact info. Thanks

Congratulations on your new phone kathdogg! Now let's get your messaging working correctly. If you still have your old device, turn it on, go to settings, and turn off iMessaging.

Cannot see "New Entries" in transaction BD54

I am working on an IDOC to File scenario.I am doing the ALE settings. However when i try to create a Logical system using transaction BD54; it says " Display View 'logical Systems':Overview"
also i cannot see button for New Entries.

This may be problem with your roles and profiles given to your user.
You have only display authorization for this system, Contact to your basis team to give you the authorization for development / customization also.

Latest version iMovie: cannot see clips in project OR event browser, but they are there in both libraries! So cannot create/edit/publish ANYTHING.

HI All. I have been having a HECK of a time with iMovie 11!!! Converted a bunch of video to .mov format, imported into iMovie, and created a project. No problem. Finalized, and published to iTunes, no problem. Saves extra copies. No Problem. SO ... I want to create another project, and follow the instructions RELIGIOUSLY. I can import the video files into the event library, and can drag them into a newly created project, but I CANNOT see the clips in the browser pane for events or library! When I click the playhead in either the event library or the project library (where the clips are edited - supposedly), they play (ie, i hear the audio just fine) ... but NO real-time playback. ALSO - the video no longer plays for the already completed project when I click the playhead - same deal - not in the project browser, not in the event browser. The playhead runs, but as it moves from thumbnail to thumbnail, each one goes black, and no video plays in real time in the other pane. I closed out of iMovie, did a restart, repaired permissions. No change. I get no error messages, and can find no way to 'reassociate' a project with a set of clips (like one can do in software like Illustrator etc).HELP!!!

I've spent 3 hours in Apple Covent Garden trying to have this fixed. Most of those were spent doing something to content in iPhoto. It didn't work. Then I left them my computer to reinstall software (Snow Leopard and iMovie) which they said they could do better than me and my discs. But I got back a computer with a new user profile and no files. When I used Time Machine to restore my files to my old profile the problem was just as before except now I've lost a week worth of photos, despite the Time Machine file having been saved just hours before I gave my Mac to the muppets in the Apple store.
If it's any clue, the other I get is that iMovie searches for four missing movie files when it tries to load. I've tried solving this by creating new files and changing the names to match the ones that are missing (as I read elsewhere in the community works) but it doesn't work.
So I've wasted hours, a day of Apple having my computer and no one replies to my thread here. What's to be done? Do I give up on iMovie and buy Final Cut pro? And how can I get my week's worth of photos back that have disappeared from TimeMachine, even though everything else in the restoration (e.g. mail and Firefox windows) are completely up to date?

Cannot see the manage dimension option

This is normal... that mean your task profile for "BPCUser" doesn't offer the possibility to perform Administration tasks.
You should take a look to the Security Guide, in order to see if Primary Administrator or Secondary Administrator could be assigned to your users.

But in any case, the problem only comes from a task profile that doesn't allow Admin tasks.

IRecruitment: New users cannot see jobs as candidates

I´m experiencing a problem with iRecruitment. All the people in my company have an Oracle user associated to their corresponding person. The ones created long before (i don´t know exactly when, maybe when iRecruitment was implemented), can connect using the employee candidate resp. and search for jobs without problem. The new created users also connect with the same responsibility, but they cannot see any job. I´ve run the following programs with no success:
- Synchronize WF LOCAL tables with the following values for the “Orig System” parameter:
1. PER_ROLE
2. FND_RESP
3. FND_USR
- Sync responsibility role data into the WF table
- Workflow Directory Services User/Role Validation
Any idea?

Thanks guys. I finally solved it. We have a security policy activated to prevent users to see certain info (such as salaries) thru the app or database. One of the tables was per_all_vacancies. So we granted the profile value associated to that policy to these users and now they are able to search for vacancies. Thank you all of you for your help and effort. I´ve noted down all your suggestions so i can solve future problems regarding irec.

Other Mac users cannot see my shared public folder

Other users on my network cannot see my Public shared folder. I can see their public folders no problem. I can connect to my computer from another Mac and "connect as" myself and see folders.
I have File Sharing turned on. Permissions look copacetic. It says I'm the owner of the shared folder.
IT's has a profile on this same machine – its Public folder shows up for other users. When I set up a new account profile, its shared folder shows up no problem.
It may, just may, have to do with me changing my short login name after migrating to this machine. Problem is, I have no idea how to confirm that. Finder shows proper ownership and permissions in the info windows. I think there's something deeper down in the account system level that is wrong, but I don't know where to look.

If you have admin rights, you can create a new account in System Preferences and see if that shared folder shows up on the network. If it does, then it could be related to changing short name (which I have heard you aren't suppose to do). If not, it may be something in the system. Give that a try and post back what happens.

Firefox cannot find profile, even after deleting and re-installing.

I un-installed firefox when the problem first started, then re-installed it. Still cannot find profile. I went through the Profile Manager Wizard, but that didn't work. It couldn't find the program. I'm not on firefox now since it won't load.

This is usually caused by a problem with the profiles.ini file and the profile marked as Default=1 in this file is no longer present on the hard drive.

Cannot see wiki calendars

Recreated user's profile in workgroup manager post that cannot see previous or old wiki calendars but can create new calendars
Permissions for this user appears to be fine. Could import user's calendars to iCal application into that user's profile
Any workaround for this issue ??

So I went back to 10.8 on the 2008 MacBook and calendars works again. I tried updating to 10.8.2 again and same issue...... I guess this one will have to stay on 10.8....

Cannot see instrument editor

New to this version of Logic Pro, I am now using version 8. As you know, when I click on EXS24 button under I/O it opens the semi-transparent gray window that says Inst 1 which is my EXS24. In the gray window I see that there are two options under view: controls and editor. When I choose controls I see all of the sliders and settings. However, when I click on editor, the gray window is blank (it does say EXS24 at the bottom) but shouldn't I see the instrument, kind of like I used to see it in Logic Pro 7? Almost like a pedal board view?
Help! I prefer to see the instrument as I used to.
What am I doing incorrectly?
Any assistance will be much appreciated!!

Actually, I'm already running 10.6.7, just had not updated my profile. Might it have anything to do with the fact that I have both Quicktime 7 and X on my computer? It's weird, all aspects of the program work fine, I just cannot see any interfaces for the built-in interfaces, EXS24, EVD6, etc.
But your Quicktime idea has me wondering if two versions might be an interference. For the record, I have temporarily trashed both versions individually to see if that would work, but to no avail.
Really frustrating. Let me know if you can think of anything else. I've already reinstalled, so I don't know that that will make a difference.

Roxio Toast Titanium 6.1 cannot see superdrive in MacBook Pro 17"

My superdrive worked perfectly fine with Toast Titanium 6.1, burning Cd's,Dvd's,dual layer Dvd's without any issues.
But just recently Toast has informed me that it cannot find a recorder.
here is the details of my superdrive as listed by System Profiler:

I am currently trying to get Roxio suipport to resolve the issue but no luck so far.
I have uninstalled & re-installed the Toast software,repaired permissions,the works but stiil Toast cannot see the Superdrive.
The only thing I can think of is I installed a recent firmware update for the MacBook Pro & maybe that had something to do with it.
I also don't think that updating to the latest version of Toast 8 will resolve the issue either.
Remember that the Superdrive was working just fine with Toast.
I have searced the froums & apple support documents to no avail.
The Toast site is not much help either.
Anybody have any ideas or a similar problem.

My problem has been solved!
I have carried out a complete re-install of the Os & I am right back up to OS 10.4.10.
Al the available updates have been installed & Toast 6.1.1 works just fine & sees the superdrive without any problems.
I think I have worked out what caused Toast to break.
Sometime back I was advised to run an app called Monolingual.
It is a utility that removes unecessary language resources from the os & reclaims disk space.
My advice is to live with the extra language's & avoid Monolingual.
