Cannot turn off find my ipod

My passcode was changed and now forgotten. I did connect the Ipod to the computer I have synced to and connected to itunes, however; itunes says to turn off find my ipod. I went to icloud and erased this ipod so there is no device it recognizes. Itunes still tells me to turn off find my ipod and I can't since I cannot get into the ipod or its not recognized by icloud. What do I do now?

Hello, radcami16.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand that your iPod is disabled and you are unable to turn off find my device.  I would recommend going through the steps in the article below.
Recovery mode
If you've never synced your device with iTunes, or haven't set up Find My iPhone, you'll need to put your device in recovery mode. Then you'll restore your device as new or from a backup.
Forgot passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled
Cheers,
Jason H.

  • IOS 8 lockscreen keyboard does not let me input characters with accent marks. My password has an accent mark. I can't restore the device without unlocking it and turning off find my iPod. What can I even do here?

I do have a third party keyboard installed (fleksy), and I removed english and emoji from the keyboards list in settings before rebooting the ipod. When it booted up, it asked for my device password with the default keyboard, but I can't type any letters with accent marks, so I can't enter the password. I figured I could fix this by restoring a backup and changing my password, but I can't restore a backup without turning off Find My iPod - which of course requires me to unlock the device with the device password, which I can't do. Am I stuck here? Is there anything at all that I can do?

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

  • Is there any way to turn off "Find my iPod" without unlocking the iPod?

My cousin forgot her password to her iPod and she tried to restore the iPod but it said that it couldn't be restored because "Find my iPod" was on. Is there any way that you can turn off "Find my iPod" without unlocking her iPod.

You can access iCloud.com on a computer to turn it off.

  • Cannot turn off find my mac

Given the risk of having it on vs. off, I have decided to turn off Find My Mac.  But when I do that it asks for my Apple ID password.  That makes sense.  But it will not accept the password.  I can sign into my Apple ID using the password, so I know it is right.  I can sign in and out of iCloud on all my other devices using this password.
Now, to add to the story, my wife has a Mac.  Same thing.  Her Apple ID password works on every other device, but she also cannot turn off FInd My Mac.
We both are running Mavericks on a Late 2013 MB Pro.  We loaded the MBs 6 months ago from TM backups.  I suppose that could be a source of the problem, a bug there.  So we are both running the same HW SW and have this same issue.
I can stop by a Genius Bar someday and get them to look at it, but anyone have a clue?

My laptop does not travel.  Someone gets into your Apple ID and you would wish you did not have it on.  the question is the probability of one vs. the other.  I plan to leave it on for my iPhone and iPad, they travel.  But getting my Mac wiped would not be cool.
But this is not a thread on the merits of Find My Mac.  It is a thread on the problem, I cannot turn it off.  Or more presicesly, I suppose the problem is my Apple ID password does not seem to work for this function only.

  • I need to transfer data from my old iphone to my new iphone and I cannot turn off Find my iphone

I need to transfer data from my old iphone to my new iphone and I cannot turn off Find my iphone as my icloud password is incorrect.  I have reset this several times and also cleared cookies history etc.  none of the above makes a difference.  Any ideas?

The ONLY thing you can do to turn off Find My iPhone is to have the correct password. There is no way around it. You can get help with the password: If you forgot your Apple ID password
If none of those methods are possible: Apple ID: Contacting Apple for help with Apple ID account security

My iPad constantly asks for my old iCloud account password, but the account does not exist anymore. I cannot delete the old account off of my iPad because Find My iPad is on and cannot be turned off without the password. I tried erasing all content and settings but that also requires the old password.
Is there anything else I can try? Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Hi Brian,

  • Can't get through ipod touch 5g password without turning off 'find my iphone'

    hi!
i have a big problem. so when i was so sick and tired of my sister fooling around with my ipod touch (5g) i changed the password of it. then after a few while, i checked on it then opened it, to find out that the password i entered is incorrect. i started to remember that i changed it. ( swear, i have amnesia when i am angry/****** off) so.. i researched for possible solutions. then i found out that i need to use iTunes so i did. it told me to 'turn off find my iPod touch' which i can't do because my ipod is locked. so, i did some more 'researching' . what it told me to is to go to icloud.com/#find and remove the device etc. etc. and i followed it. BUT for some reasons, i just clicked delete.then remove from account. i thought that it would help it so i went back to iTunes and did the same process but surprisingly, it still tells me to ' turn off find my ipod touch' which i can't do because when i wen't back to icloud.com/#find , i saw a message saying that there's no device registered to my account. i have nothing left to do but to just ask here. btw, iOs 8.1.2 thanks in advanced
