Cannot update to version 5

Dear sir/madam,
I use firefox Version 3.0.8 on both my iMac aswel on my Macbook. On both machines i want to upgrade to the newest version but when i download it and want to install it i get the mesage that the installation can't be completed becouse i don't have enough authorisation to install some parts. This is verry strange because i am the owner of both machine and also administrator on both machines.

Thank you, milance22, your tip worked. However I have to say that whilst FireFox is probably the best browser for the PC, their upgrading process is not so good. Now I am in the process of reinstalling all my add-ons, and I have just had a hard time importing my old bookmars. But thanks to you, I have now upgraded from version 3. Much appreciated. Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu and check the processor.
If it's a PowerPC Mac, it's already running the newest OS it can.
If it's an Intel Mac, click here, install the DVD, and run Software Update twice.

After Effects CC, cannot update to version 12.1 from 12.0....tried uninstalling AE, tried reinstalling CC app...no change.

I'm having a similar problem with After Effects CC, cannot update to version 12.1 from 12.0....tried uninstalling AE, tried reinstalling CC app...no change.
I can install AE-CC 12.1 on a new machine without issue.
Please provide the files to be removed to force update.
I'm using 10.9 - Mavericks and cannot use AE without this update.

Attempted to install update manually but rcvd error listed below. Admin is not suppressing updates, I can confirm as I am the admin. Also, other apps update without issue.

Logic Pro 9.0 cannot update this version on Lion

I have Migrated Logic Pro v.9.0 from a snow leopard machine to a brand new MacPro (Lion) machine and I get the message that this version cannot run on this version of OSX I then try and update Logic Pro 9.0 to 9.1 to 9.7 and I get the message that it cannot update this version 9.0. Any help please?

oops! - sorted it now - I had suffixed the app with a version number as we were running 2 x versions and needed to identify each one. Taking the '9' out enabled software update to do its 'business'

How can I force the installation of a Flash Player update to
version 9,0,124,0?
After installing Flash Player update version 9,0,124,0
although declared successful the previous working version 9,0,47,0
remains in place. Un-installing version 9,0,47,0 before installing
the update makes no difference, the Adobe test for Flash Player
reports that the version present is 9,0,47,0.
The reason for updating is a requirement for the h246 codec
that I understand is incorporated in Flash Player version
9,0,124,0. Can I download and install the h246 codec on its own if
there is some technical reason why version 9,0,124,0 cannot be
installed?
I am running Windows 98SE on a 1 GHz processor and ample
memory as per system requirements.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If anyone is interested:
Problem solved, all by myself, without benefit of Adobe FAQ
or knowledge base. I discovered that the Flash player plugin in the
Firefox plugins folder was not affected by either the Flash player
un-installer or update installer.
Solution to problem: Un-install earlier version of Flash
player. Delete Flash player plugin [NPSWF32.dll] from Firefox
plugins folder [C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Mozilla\Plugins]. Run
installer of Flash player update. Copy updated plugin [NPSWF32.dll]
from Flash player folder [C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\macromed\Flash] to
Firefox plugins folder. It all now works as it should have done in
the first place.
Note: My OS is Windows 98SE - folder locations may differ for
other Windows versions. My fix only applies to Firefox. I don't
know about Internet Explorer - who uses it, anyway.

Cannot update to Version 1.3

I cannot update my 2gb ipod nano from firmware 1.1 to the new 1.3. It keeps giving me an error. Any ideas?

I've tried to reset the ipod and restart the computer with no luck. The first time i hit update it seemed to be downloading the update but then i didn't seem to install.
I'd rather not lose all my songs and have to reinstall...that would suck....but what if i don't update my firmware? doesn't seem to be hurting without.

I have read of a fix in another forum but haven't tried it...
"Yep, I think it's a bug in iTunes 7. When you click Restore or Update, a progress bar window will come up. While the progress bar is scrolling, unplug the iPod (usually it will eject itself but if it's still showing the Do Not Disconnect, make sure the Activity indicator isn't on and unplug anyway). iTunes will continue to show the progress bar as if the iPod was still plugged in... weird huh? Now once you've unplugged the iPod, you will hear the "ding-dong" hardware disconnected sound. As soon as you hear this sound, plus the iPod back in. It will display the Do Not Disconnect screen again but this time it will actually restore or update. This bug only affects some iPods (My 2GB nano and 60GB 5g iPods are affected whereas all my other iPods are mot...-_-')

[Grub2] cannot update to version 1.99-2

Hello.
I want to do my daily update (I know I'm crazy), but I cannot get grub2 to be updated. Here is what I get using yaourt (it speaks english, pacman speaks french on my system), with this command line : yaourt -Syu --aur :
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)

Any idea to fix this problem ? I don't want to use --force option.

N95 CANNOT UPDATE TO VERSION 30 ERROR WHEN USING N...

Firstly i have bought a N95 with version 10 on and my product code is 0535053 which says i can update to
30.0.015
It was on 02 but seems unlocked as i have used it abroad with different sims
I am currently in Thailand although it a u.k phone and have tried everything to sort this out
I have un-installed all nokia programs -re-installed and still it fails to complete
I have the latest NSU but do not see the amount of time to complete just the amount of data sent and it gets about 50% of the way and then i get the failed message and do i want to retry
Please help as i think the phone is great but is it much much better with version 30?

I have tried uninstalling and re installing the program but i get a window every time that says the older version of i tunes cannot be un installed and that the window choice programs dont work. this is a bit frustrating. sadly i am running windows vista (meh free computer). (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

Cannot update to version 2.2

Ok, I just got this iPod touch today, and have had a couple problems with it: When I tried to update the iPod to version 2.2, it went through all the steps until it came to Preparing to restore, then it stopped saying that an unknown error occurred (1602). The iPod screen goes to a picture of the cord and the itunes icon, and I can't do anything with it...
I've tried a couple times (I got it off of that screen somehow once... no idea how xD) and it happens every time.
The other problem is that it goes to that same screen if I turn the ipod off using the sleep button, and again, I can't get off of it. :/
Does anyone know what is happening, or how I could fix it?

Cannot update to version 4.3

Hey all,
I tried to update my iphone to the new version 4.3 with itunes but I keep getting an error message -50.
It starts the download but then it says network time out.
The internet connection is ok because it's a 100 mbit line.
I had the same issue with the previous update and then i got a link from apple to download the update manually not thru itunes and then once downloaded i had to click the download and then it installed thru itunes without a prob.
Is there such a link available again? It has to be in dutch cause i'm from belgium

You can only update to the latest version of iOS by OTA (Over The Air) if you have iOS 5.x or later.
Since you have iOS 4.3.3 or 4.3.5 you will have to connect your device with your 30 pin dock connector to usb cable to one of your usb ports and then launch iTunes if you have installed on your computer you normally sync with.
Then, you will be prompted for an iOS update.
Or, once your device appear on the left hand side under devices select it and then a window will appear on the right hand side with several panes (tabs).
Select the Summary pane (tab) and then under the 'Version' section select 'Check for Updates'

I live in Thailand. My phone is X6, software version is 20.0.005. I checked from Nokia website last version is 32.0.002. But I cannot update new version. I Updated by phone or by Nokia Ovi Suite with correct step. I could see the other software program that can be update but device software version 32.0.002 not available, Could see only version 20.0.005. I think that software device version 32.0.002 is not upload to server for services (For Thailand).

Availability of update depends on Region / Product Code.. Also if thye phone is Network locked then the update is possible only after an approval from the operator...so, it seems there is no update made available for your device yet.. and you will have to wait and keep checkin..

Cannot update my snow leopard

in the course of the periodic updates appeared an RAW update, which I could not install - missing signature- I installed an online RAW. Now I cannot update JAVA version 2 and Safari 5.
I do not know how to resintall the faulty RAW update.
Does my install Snow Leopard CD help to solve the situation.

My own update of the periodic Snow Leopard update blocks a regular precedure. I personally cannot use raw data as my camera supplies me with .jpg pictures.
Remains my problem that I would like to eliminate the faulty updates. This may allow access to normal updates of my Snow Leopard. How can I delete these raw updates?
Reloading my laptop with the original Snow Leopard DVD showed no result.
Is it a solution to restart my system with the original Snow Leopard DVD?
I am running backups with my time capsule and hope to restart my full system that way.

I am using an older version of Mozilla (i cannot see which version), but somehow this version is so old that I cannot use Hotmail or Internetbanking properly anymore. Therefor I wanted to update my Mozilla-program, but unfortunately this isn't possible. I downloaded your new version Firefox Setup 7.0.1.exe and I see this in the file 'downloads'.
If I want to click it, it says '“Firefox Setup 7.0.1(4).exe” is een uitvoerbaar bestand. Uitvoerbare bestanden kunnen virussen of andere code bevatten die uw computer kan beschadigen. Wees voorzichtig met het openen van dit bestand. Weet u zeker dat u “Firefox Setup 7.0.1(4).exe” wilt starten?'
Then I click 'Oke'....to tell the system I want to start the program. Then I get another pop-up: 'securitywarning......'
Then I click on ' continue' and I have to choose a program to open this program. I can choose from iexplore.exe or firefox.exe.
If I choose for firefox.exe.....nothing happens.
Quit strange. I am quit well with computers, but this is really strange to me.

I finally figured out what was wrong. Since I had installed Google Chrome recently it already had the Adobe Flash Player imbedded in it.
When I uninstalled the flash player in Control Panel option the problem went away.
