Cannot view media in Pages document after copying folder to desktop

I have created a document in Pages which includes video, which is saved in a folder called Assignments.I also have a folder marked Pictures and Videos which contains the media from the document contained within the Assignments folder.
However, the problem I am having is that when I copy the Assignments folder to the desktop and open up the pages document, Pages tells me that the media cannot be found, even though I have coped the Assignments folder to the desktop.
How could I go about solving this problem, as it's really quite irritating as nothing has changed other than me copying the folder to the desktop.
Thank you in advance

I use an other scheme.
I store the document and the media files in a disk image so, I may move the complete set as I want.

    RR,
Not to worry, you're not the first to expect Print to finish by returning you to the edit mode. The thing is that Printing is so hit and miss with this version of the app, you will probably want to stay in the Print window for more than one attempt.

  • ICloud deleted my Pages documents after Yosemite

    I'm having a bit of a issue.
Yesterday i updated my Mac to Yosemite from Mavericks. Everything went fine except some of my Pages documents were missing. I can't see why this should happen, they're just gone right away.
    I've a little background story:
Earlier, like maybe 3 weeks, I logged into my iCloud account on iCloud.com, to access a Keynote presentation. To open it I was forced to upgrade to iCloud Drive - bear in mind this was before iOS 8 or Yosemite were released. So I upgraded to iCloud Drive and everything went fine after that. Although every time I had to access or create a new document on my Mac in Pages, I got this message which said something like: "iCloud Drive isn't supported for Mavericks. You will need to upgrade to Yosemite, to keep all your documents up to date across all devices."
I just closed it every time it showed, didn't gave it a simple thought. Because of this every document that were created AFTER upgrading to iCloud Drive, got this little label under it saying: "Waiting". I know that it means it is waiting for syncing to my iCloud account, but again I just thought it would sync after upgrading to Yosemite.
Well... I didn't. All the documents with that little label, were deleted upon finishing the update to Yosemite. I can't access the documents on any device, iPhone or iCloud.com, apparently I've been deleted from all devices. I tried accessing the documents on a Mac running Mavericks, with my iCloud account logged in, but that didn't even showed any document.
So I'm kinda screwed as of right now.
Any help would be great, honestly.

Your backups are inadequate, but you can try the following procedure.
View your documents in iCloud by selecting
              File ▹ Open
from the menu bar and then clicking iCloud in the upper left corner of the dialog.
Enter Time Machine. Scroll back to a snapshot of the dialog that predates the unwanted changes. Select the documents you want to restore, the click Restore in the lower right corner of the display.

  • Unable to open Pages document after emailing to colleague

I need to send a Pages document to a work colleague, where the document must be in pages format (not pdf or other).
We both use G4 powerbooks, latest tiger and iwork.
But when I email the pages document (via apple mail), two odd things happen:
    - the file arrives at my colleague's email address in zip format, requiring unzipping...
    - the unzipped pages file cannot be opened in pages, instead an error message 'the document cannot be opened' is received.
We've tried using apple mail, thunderbird, webmail, ... but to no avail.
How can a Pages document be emailed, as a .pages file, and then opened by someone else?
    Guidance welcomed.

    RossM,
Peggy explained why you need to zip Pages (and Keynote) documents. Mail.app tries to be smart an zips the files for you.
I recall that I saw a zip attachment in earlier versions of Mail. Now I just see a Pages document icon. When I delete an e-mail with a Pages attachment, it shows up in Trash with a zip attachment.
When I saved the zip attachment (testname.pages.zip) and unzipped it, some strange name appeared. I then simply removed the zip extension from testname.pages.zip and was able to open the file in Pages.
I'm not sure if this behavior is specifically with 10.4.6 and Mail 2.0.7 but check your versions and try to rename the "zip" file.
At least Peggy's suggestion to zip Pages documents before attaching them to an e-mail should work.

  • Cannot view content of pages created with WPC

When I create a page with WPC, I can only view the content with my super admin account.
I have set read authorizations for everyone on the KM folders and for PCD with no result. The rest of the users cannot view the content. They can only view the Header or Tool bar at the top (which contains send feedback, email, rss feed, etc).
What must I do to make the content visible for everyone?

    Hi Leo,

Set permission "everyone" in the folder "System Administration > Permissions > Web Page Composer", but still can not view the contents of the iview.

  • Preview not opening new pages documents after Yosemite upgrade

Just upgraded to Yosemite and also upgraded Pages to 5.5.  Created a new Pages document and now, in Finder, the preview does not work.  If I control click on the pages file and select open with Preview I get an error "The file “XXXXX.pages” could not be opened. It may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn’t recognize."  Existing (previous version) Pages documents do open in Finder.  Does anyone else have this problem?

Yes this has been reported by others.
    No solution, so far.

  • Missing Pages documents after Snow Leopard upgrade

I upgraded my Mini to Snow Leopard and now several newer, previoulsy saved Pages documents are missing.  They were on the machine before the upgrade and I thought they resided in the documents folder, which I backed up.  However, they are not there now (looked at Time Machine when I did the original backup).
Any ideas as to where they could be? Older Pages files are there in the documents folder
Prior to the upgrade I blew away everything in "downloads" but these Pages documents were newly created on the desktop and should not have been saved there.

Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)

  • Cannot View Database Home Page After Upgrading to XE 3.2 on Windows XP

    Hi all,
I have recently upgraded from APEX 3.1 to APEX 3.2 on my Oracle 10g XE database running on Windows XP SP3.
Unfortunately after successfully completing the upgrade and starting the services when I try and visit the Start -> All Programs -> Oracle Database 10g Express Edition -> Go To Oracle Database Home Page I am receiving a page cannot be found error (or broken link message, depending on the browser I try IE7, Firefox 3.0.10 or Chrome 2.0).
The link I am being directed to is:
http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex (I have an entry in my Hosts file referring this to localhost).
How can I tell if Port 8080 is still open and accessible? I am using the embedded web pl/sql gateway and tried reconfiguring it again by running apxconf.sql as SYS:
    SQL> @apxconf.sql

    Hello Roel,
Thank you taking the time to reply.
I had previously tried all those url combinations and still no luck.
I also found out about displaying the HTTP port number. And you were right it was listening on the default 8080. I disabled it and re-enabled it on port 9080 to see if that made a difference but it didn't so I decided to remoce Oracle XE database and go through the reinstallation and subsequent upgarde to APEX 3.2. Everything appera sto be working fime now.
One point of note is that if I view the Listener status now I notice another line from what I had previously referring to the HTTP listener, although my listener.ora file never changed (apart from having the TNS Listener port resuming to the default 1521).

Hello, I hope some one can help me. I have a website that I
am working that I am unable to view the body of the page in Design
mode. This is a php file. I can preview the page fine by pressing
F12, so it appears PHP is installed and my test server is working
fine. Also my manager is able to view the body fine, so it appears
that only I am affected. Both of us are using Dreamweaver CS3. Is
there some setting on my local copy of Dreamweaver that I can
change to make the page appear?

    This is a php file.
If the body of the page doesn't display in Design view, it
    means that
your include files contain html, head, and body tags. Include
    files
should contain only the code that you want included at that
    point. So,
inc_header.php should contain only the div or other code that
    displays
the header - and NOTHING ELSE. The same goes for
    inc_footer.php.
When the page and the include files are combined, they should
    have one
DOCTYPE declaration, one html tag, one head, and one body.
    Think of them
as pieces of a jigsaw. On their own, each element is
    incomplete, but
together they make a complete picture with nothing left over.

  • I cannot view photos from pages of an on-line auction from Firegox, but I can view the photos when I view the page on IE. How can I correct this problem?

When I open to a page from the auction on Firefox, the photos added to the auction to picture the item are not shown. Only a numerical list of the missing photos is visible: 1,2,3, etc. But when the same page is opened on IE, the photos are shown with no trouble. I asked the web site for help, but they had no idea of a problem.

Sometimes images may be blocked by site-specific permission settings, and in other cases by extensions such as ad blockers. (If the images are displayed by a plugin, such as the Flash player, there are additional possible explanations.)
    (1) To check permissions, open the Page Info dialog and click into the Media tab. You can do this using either:
    * right-click and choose View Page Info > Media
    * Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Media
Click in the list and arrow down through the various images and watch the box above the image preview area that says "Block images from {site}". If that box is checked for any of the source sites, uncheck it. When you're done, reload the page.
    (2) If the images weren't blocked by permissions, try the page in Firefox's Safe Mode. That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset)
If the images display in Safe Mode, then most likely one of your extensions is blocking them. You might be able to solve that puzzle just by reviewing them, but if you can't find the culprit right away, you can selectively disable them in groups to narrow it down.
You would do that in the Add-ons Manager:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > ''click'' Extensions ''on the left side''
    Can you track it down?
