Cannot web search but can go directly to web addresses, get connection timed out on websearch
I am using Xp prof and when I enter a subject in the google or yahoo search panel it just goes to the connection has timed out. the server is taking too long to respond.
I can go directly to a website through favorites and they pop up quickly can be refreshed etc no problems
I've been having this problem for weeks and have found no solution to it. There are lots of other people with this issue too if you look back on the boards. I even e-mailed AND called Apple and have had no luck. I tried all the suggestions they gave me and all the ones I found on here- nothing worked. I even uninstalled and re-installed iTunes (boy was that a pain!) and no difference.
The weird part is that I have an old laptop that works and if I buy music with the laptop I can download it with my regular computer buy buying does not work on my regular computer. That tells me it's not a connection issue. I can't get to my account either.
I can't figure out why an issue that has kept so many people from purchasing a product has been ignored!

The other day, I had logged out of Facebook on my iPhone, and when I tried logging back in, it wouldn't let me. When I try to log in through the settings page, it stays on verifying for a while and says "Error signing in" and tells me there is no internet connection and when I try logging in through the facebook app, it says "Connection timed out" and asks me to make sure i have an active internet connection. The fact is my internet is working, and I can log in to facebook through safari, but not my app.
And one more thing. I have tried most of the methods mentioned in the forums. I have spent the last 2 days trying all of them from trying to create a new account using the old details, remove the phone number from facebook and try again, hard reboot by pressing the home and power buttons, resetting network and privacy settings, and reinstalling the app about 3-4 times. None of these work.
I'd be grateful if somebody can help me out with this .

Installed successfully, But not able to open any website, says connection timed out.
I have installed firefox successfully. When i enter any website its status shows connecting, For eg. Connecting to gmail.com, but after some time it says connection timed out.
No problem with internet, i can open the same website with other browsers.

Can not open my msn mail since I updated Firefox, get connection timed out error
Since we updated our Firefox to the last version I have not been able to open my email at msn/live.com We have 3 computers networked and it will not open on any of them. However, my husbands account [email protected] opens. I can open it on my home computer but not at our office and it is our office email. Can you help? I've cleared the cache through the tools/options/etc. It will not open on IE either.

You can open the <b>about:config</b> page via the location bar and do a search for <i>bing</i> via the Filter at the top of that page.<br />

When updating itunes I get the message the install package can't find a file (itunes.msi) I've searched but can't find this file. How do I install it?
Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the thingy on the Major Geeks page):

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -
Connection timed out, but diagnostics show I can connect OK. ***?
Problem: iTunes has recently crapped itself. I have no new software of changes to make. I am running the stock XP Firewall, and iTunes was checked fine. I unchecked and rechecked to no avail. I ran diagnostics and all seems well. I am using Symantec Endpoint Protection, but have been running that for years. I even made a new HOSTS file, but I still have no luck getting to the store. I actually want to conduct commerce here, but cannot. This seems to be a huge issue of late and I need your help.

Last successful store access was 2008-07-08 13:19:45.I don't have an answer, but I thought I'd back you up by saying that I've had exactly the same problem. I received the same diagnostic messages.
I have tried completely disabling Norton Firewall (where I had already allowed complete access for iTunes and anything that looked remotely related) and turned of the Windows Firewall without any luck. I could launch a basic browser and navigate to the iTunes website manually, but from within the iTunes app, I continue to receive the "unable to connect... connection timed out" message.
I also uninstalled and re-installed iTunes. This appears to have made the problem only worse in that now when I run the diagnostic, it returns the following:

This is incredibly frustrating. I have done many searches for the problem and found several bits of advice: clearing the DNS cache, clearing history and cookies in IE, etc. I've tried all of these to no avail. I would like to now deauthorize the system iTunes is currently on and set it up on another system, but without a valid connection to iTunes I can't even successfully deauthorize the computer.
I've seen several other forum posts over the past couple of years regarding this problem. Seems like Apple could have, by now, consolidated the responses and provided a straightforward troubleshooting document. -

I am trying to update my phone so I can save my info on my old phone & get a new phone, but I get a error that says "There was a problem with downloading teh software, the network connection timed out.." HELP! Not sure what my settings shoud be...

I have paid my subscription for Adobe Acrobat Pro but can not install it… I always get an error message …also I did not receive any instalation code...
With the subscription you sign in with your Adobe ID that you used to order the subscription. By installation code, I assume you mean serial number. You do not get one with the subscription, but use your Adobe ID.

Connect your iPhone to your computer. Tp your pc should recognize your iPhone as a camera. Use what ever application you have on the pc to transfer files from a camera to your computer.
