Cant play a purchased song

Hey, i just bought a song, and it plays on itunes on my computer... but when i try to play it on my ipod, it will just skip the song and go on to the next song, can you help me?

Sounds like a corrupt Ipod file. Try removing the song from the ipod and adding it back.
In iTUnes 7 if the ipod is set to auto update, check "Only Update checked songs" UNCHECK the song, update the ipod.
Now check the song in itunes and update the ipod again and see if that fixes it

cant play the hole song after downloading it from itunes

Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past purchases, delete the current copies from your iTunes library, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your tracks there.
If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the report a problem links in your account history, or via Contact Support.

  • Cannot play previously purchased songs

I have a handful of songs that I previously purchased that can no longer be played. When I try to play them, it asks me to authorize the computer but it is already authorized.  I even unauthorized the computer and authorized it again.  Other purchased songs work and I know my account is OK.
When I view the Summary on Get Info, I noticed that these songs do not show a Purchased Date as others do.  They do show Purchased by and my Apple id.
Ideas??  Is this a version issue or something that can be resolved?

    Hello beeangie,
It sounds like you have multiple Apple ID’s associated. Once the 90 days are up, you are able to associate the Apple ID with your iPhone. Another option is to restore your iPhone and setup as new. The article below will explain further about assocating Apple ID's to devices.

Hai, Recently I upgraded my computer...When I installed iTunes, my ipod didn't recognize my computer as the same but as a different computer. Everytime I wanna play a song it says that i should give my computer permission, followed by a message that it did gave this permission to this so-called new computer. Once again I doubleclick on the song I wanna hear but the same window pops-up again, that i should give permission again. My question is this....how can I withdraw the permission of one of the computers I gave it earlier!!Or anybody with another idea?!Please help me, I haven't been able to listen to my music!!

  • After itunes upgrade to 7.6, why can't I play previously purchased songs?

Some of my previously purchased songs from the itunes store will not play since I upgraded to 7.6. They played on this computer before, but it now says,"This computer isn't authorized to play this song." I checked permissions, ran disk utility, and don't have the locked checked. I don't want to waste any of my 5 authorizations. I recall this happening to me on a previous upgrade, but I don't remember the solution. All help would be appreciated.

In iTunes, click Store > Deauthorize Computer until it says you're not authorized. Then, choose Store > Authorize Computer.
You can also take a look at the steps in this document:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1389?viewlocale=en_US
Even if you do end up with 2 authorizations on one computer, once you reach 5 iTunes gives you the option to Deauthorize All computers, once per year. So, it's not like you'll never recapture that authorization.
    Hope this is helpful

  • ITunes 10.5.1 (42) won't play certain purchased songs

A number of purchased songs will not play at all. The same is true on my iPod Touch. The posts I find for this problem are from 2008 and 2009-- not helpful.

Ok so, now apparently, when I close out of itunes and re open it, the album artwork is there now.  Weird.

  • Cant seem to authorize my computer to play a purchased song from itunes.

I purchased a song from itunes today and after it downloaded I was unable play it after being told my computer was not authorized to play the song. After going through the steps to "authorize the computer" I was told it is already authorized. Thinking I was then going to be able to play the song, I was once again being told that my comuter was not authorized. Can't figure out why or how to fix this problem. Help?!

I read in another thread that there was some bug with authorizations. An apparent solution is to try and download the free Single of the Week and play it. It's worth trying:

  • TS1277 Authorise a song? I cant play my purchase. Please help!

I just downloaded a song 'Clavin Harris: We'll be coming back' and every time I try to play it, it says my computer is not authorised to play it. After I put my details in, it still wont play. Help?

Its just this song. Everything else is fine. ??
many thanks. In that case the track is most likely damaged, and Niel's instructions on deleting and redownloading the track are the way to go.

  • Downgraded to iTunes 6, now I can't play any purchased songs

A few weeks ago I upgraded to the infamous iTunes 7 and it crashed my computer so I paid $100 to have it repaired and today I downloaded iTunes 6 (from the CD that came with my iPod).
First, iTunes 6 wouldn't open because of the "iTunes Library.itl" problem, which I was able to solve.
Now, I cannot play any songs I purchased via iTunes or any song samples on iTunes. I'm signed in but when I click to play a song, a dialog box pops up asking me to authorize the computer. Then after inputting my user ID and password, it gives me a dialog box that says "Machine Authorization was Successful". I close that dialog box and another one pops up that says: "We could not complete your Music Store request. An unknown error occurred (-208)."
    What should I do?
