Cant scroll in any tab if PDF is open in another tab (adobe in FF7)
can't seem to find an answer anywhere. I have found other answers all pertaining to older versions of firefox. Adobe is up to date.

Immediately, the mouse wheel scroll function stops working in the current tab (or any other open tabs).
It's not a deal breaker, just a strange annoyance.Using similar scroll function on my netbook. To add to the above, I find that using scroll is actually causing the PDF to scroll rather than the tab I'm actually in.

Firefox doesn't Goolge search links in same tab, it does if opened in another tab
I conduct a google search (via awesome bar), everything is fine (links and search results show up).
If i click a link of my interest it turns pink (so the 'click' is registered), but it does not take me to the website.
However, when i try and load it in a new tab, that turns out to work. To load the link in a new tab I use the MMB (middle mouse button).
This problem has been occuring for the past weeks and I thought it might be a flaw in an update.
OS: Windows 8.1 (64-bit)
Firefox 28.0
You have any ideas? You can give me technical details so i can look at the files myself too. So I can learn for the future.
Thank you for your time!If it works in Safe Mode and in normal mode with all extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) disabled then try to find which extension is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.
Close and restart Firefox after each change via "Firefox > Exit" (Windows: Firefox/File > Exit; Mac: Firefox > Quit Firefox; Linux: Firefox/File > Quit)

My touchpad scroll was not working many times after i installed firefox 6. But it works perfectly fine in other browsers at the same time.
After some playing around, i found that this problem occurs only when a pdf is open in some tab (The scrolling works in pdf's tab but not in other tabs). Once that particular tab is closed, the scrolling starts working properly.Using similar scroll function on my netbook. Thanks.When you're looking at the PDF that's on your site, is it opened in the browser or directly i Acrobat/Reader? If in the borwser, do you know if it's being viewed in the browser's default PDF viewer or Acrobat/Reader? It probably won't work in non-Adobe PDF viewers.
Are you saying that when you click the link that two new browser tabs are opened with the same URL, instead of just one as you'd expect, or something else? -
Occasionally when filling in forms in Safari 5.1.2 certain keys on the keyboard don"t work. When I use the coma it opens up another tab. I've used other browsers to fill in the forms and they work fine so my keyboard is OK.

You installed a variant of the "VSearch" trojan. Remove it as follows.

The trouble may have started when you downloaded and ran an application called "MPlayerX." That's the name of a legitimate free movie player, but the name is also used fraudulently to distribute VSearch. If there is an item with that name in the Applications folder, delete it, and if you wish, replace it with the genuine article from mplayerx.org.
This trojan is often found on illegal websites that traffic in pirated content such as movies. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Then, still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)

Version 5.0 on a MAC will not let me switch between tabs. I can open a new tab, but when I try to go to a different tab, it just shows me the contents of the tab most recently opened. Help!

My first thought was to update Firefox (after of course restarting FF), but that didn't help it and I had the same problem.
Among others, I had an extension installed and enabled called Tile Tabs 4.10 that I thought could feasibly creating this problem. So I went into my add-ons manager and disabled it, restarted Firefox and the tabs worked properly again. Unfortunately, the Tile Tabs extension is my favorite Firefox add-on and I use it almost every day for managing my web work tasks. I went to the add-on page for Tile Tabs and saw that there was a notice that version 4.10 didn't work properly on Mac OS, and to install version 4.9 of the extension. I saw they had a new, not-yet-reviewed version 4.11 that addressed the Mac OS problem, installed it, and everything seems to be working properly.
I have no idea why all of a sudden I had this problem, as I hadn't updated Firefox or the Tile Tabs extension recently. Also, obviously this might not address your problem, especially if you don't have that add-on installed and enabled. But our problem started at the same time for both of us it appears based on your post time, so its probably not coincidence.
But its worth a look, and you might want to check out other extensions if you don't have Tile Tabs that could be causing the problem. -

I used to be able to right-click on a link and ask for it to be opened in another tab. That option is on the right-click menu, but nothing happens. I am using Windows XP, Firefox 36.04

You need to look for an app that has a custom keyboard with the features you require, I suggest you find one without CAPSLOCK

Again you need to look at how to manage the device - these settings can be turned off already & you can edit the 'suggestions' too.
Settings > General > Keyboards > turn Auto-Correction Off.
Sadly you cannot disable autocorrect temporarily, so it's all or nothing. -
Whenever a pdf is open in a tab, scrolling with my touchpad stops working on all other tabs.
When I'm viewing a pdf file from the firefox browser, the scrolling feature of my touch pad stops working for other tabs.
I am running Firefox 7.0.1 on Windows 7 Home Premium on a Toshiba Satellite L640.
The touch pad is a Synaptics PS/2 port TouchPad.Same prob here. Also, a little scroll bar pops up next to the mouse when attempting to scroll within Firefox. Comp info: Firefox 7.0.1, Adobe Reader X 10.1.1, Samsung RV511 + Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, Synaptics PS/2 Version 15.0.22.0.

Photoshop CS 4 crashes any time a pdf is opened.
Regardless of the pdf file. (I have downloaded Adobe PDF's from Adobe.com) my copy of PS CS4 will crash on opening any pdf.
I'm guesssing it's some prefs somewhere are corrupt, and removed the normal culprets, which did not solve the prob.Try going back to your original user and trashing the PS prefs associated with that user (see http://forums.adobe.com/thread/370735?tstart=0 ). If that doesn't fix the problem, it sounds like a OS user issue. Otheriwse it was just a case of common corrupt prefs and you'll know how to handle that in the future..

Whenever I right click on any link the link gets opened in new tab
Whenever I right click on any link, along with context menu pop up (Correct property) the said link also gets opened in new tab (next to running tab in background : wrong property) Initially I thought it is due to one of the add-on installed on searching I find I installed add-on Right Link so I removed it still instead of just opening context menu the link also was getting opened as described so I reinstalled the add-on Right Link and tried to disable it via option provided by them (A status bar button, F2, a tool menu option) and confirmed in about:config that value of extensions.rightlinks.enabled;false, still could not stop opening link when I right click on it
Now I wonder whether the said add-on is culprit or any other add-on is responsible for this behavior ?If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

You can first strict the enabling to tab related extensions and extensions added by security software.
If you have many extensions then first enable half of the extensions to test which half has the problem.
Continue to divide the bad half that still has the issue until you find which one is causing it. -
When I select a "compose email" from my GoDaddy email web page, it opens up another whole new Foxfire window. I can't seem to have it open into the existing Foxfire window but just another tab instead.
Firefox diverts most new windows to tabs, but there is an exception when a website uses a script to specify the window's dimensions or removes some toolbars. To remove the exception, you can make a change under the covers. This could be awkward for genuine dialog windows that don't make sense to view in a separate tab, but if you find it more annoying than useful, you can easily switch back.
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(3) Confirm that the '''browser.link.open_newwindow''' preference is set to its default value of 3 (divert new windows to a tab instead), or right-click > Reset to get that value
(4) Double-click the '''browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction''' preference and change the value from 2 to 0 (that's a zero) and click OK
