Capacity planning at Planned order level
Dear All,
In my current scenario i'm able to see load of process orders against the workcenter in CM01. My requirement is to do capacity levelling at the planned order level.
I have created Production version also & attached to the planned order. Still in CM01 no load or planned order is shown on workcenter.
when i convert it into process order then it shows load / process order.
pl.let me know how i can do the capacity planning at planned order level.
Thanx & regards,
dev
Hi,
In MD12 when click on Go to > Capacity Levelling >
Error Message : No work centers with capacity requirements were found
I have given formula : SAP006 in capacity & Relevant to finite schedulling indicator is also active.
what may be the cause ?
thanx & regards,

Costing affect with MRP at planned order level and after production order
Dear all,
How the costing affect with MRP at planned order level and after production order completion?
Edited by: Maulik on Jun 24, 2009 1:59 PMDear Maulik,
check Mr. Vinod's inputs abt costing
1. Maintain following master data:
MM01 Material Master with Costing and accounting view. Make sure all the cost Std, Moving avg etc is maintained along with valuation class in Accounting view 1. In costing tab pls make sure "with qty structure" and "Material Origin" are ticked.
CS01 BOM with components marked with costing relevance in Status/Long Text Tab. Also check all the qty are correct.
CR01 Work Center in Basic data tab maintain standard value key sau SAP1 and in costing tab maintain the workcenter, activity type and formulas (Usually standard formulas like for Machine Hours SAP006, Labour SAP007, Setup Activity SAP005 is used).
KL01 Cretae activity types, in basic data tab maintain ATyp Category AS "1" and cost element (as provided by your FI Guy).
KP26 Activity pricing, here with the combination of Activity type and the cost center you assign price to the activity.
2. SPRO Activity
Maintain Costing sheet IMGControllingProd cost controllingProd Cost PlanningBasic settingoverheadsdefine costing sheet.
OKKN Define costing variant, you define costing type (In the costing type, you define the purpose of a material cost estimate by specifying, for example, which field in the material master record the costing results can be transferred to like std price, moving avg etc), Valuation Variant (defines how the prices are prioratized), date control and transfer structure.
3. Costing Process Flow:
1. CK11N CREATE COSTING RUN
2. CK24 CREATE PRICE UPDATE (You Mark and release the prce to be updated)
4. COSTING VARIANT WRT PP
1. OPL1 DEFINE COSTING VARIANT WRT PP
2. OKK4 or OPN2 DEFINE VALUATION VARIANT
3. OKK1 or OPM1 DEFINE COSTING TYPE
4. OPL8 ORDERTYPE DEPENDENT PARAMETER (assign the above creted costing type for both planned and actual)
Hope this will throw some light on product costing.

Capacity planning and levelling
Hi,
My client has around 8 different production areas and I have created 8 different order types, production schedulers, capacity planner groups and production scheduling profiles for the same. I have also created a list profile, selection profile, graphical profile, optional profile and an overall profile with my understanding.
1. I want to see for a given production area, In the morning, the user has to take the list of work centres pertaining to his area and fix priorities. In case he wants to move certain orders to next day and want to insert new orders in place of that, how to do this?
2. How can I utilise the feature of capacity planning, to evaluate my capacity requirements for new projects?
3. I want the step by step instructions for doing the capacity levelling both in graphical/tabular forms. Also please explain the purpose of different profiles used for capacity planning like selection, option, list etc.
Regards,
Sridharan MDear
Capacity planning comprises the following partial components:
Capacity Evaluation
In the capacity evaluation, available capacity and capacity requirements are determined and compared with each other in lists or graphics.
You can use capacity evaluations to analyze capacity loads in your company.
Capacity leveling
The objectives of capacity leveling are:
1. Optimal capacity commitment
2. Selection of appropriate resources
3. In most applications, you can use two types of planning table (graphical and tabular versions) to display the capacity situation and to carry out capacity leveling.
4. In some applications such as Repetitive Manufacturing (PP-REM) or Sales and Operations Planning (PP-SOP), there are application-specific planning tables for capacity leveling.
The objectives of capacity leveling include:
u2022 Leveling overloads and under loads at work centers
u2022 Achieving optimum commitment of machines and production lines
u2022 Selection of appropriate resources
Dispatching Operations
Dispatching operations is the main function of capacity leveling. Operations are dispatched to the time when there is sufficient capacity for them to be executed. You can also dispatch sub-operations and work elements. -
Collective Planned orders Scheduling for lower level orders with reference to the Superior order
Hi All,
Collective planned order scheduling.
I have been trying to reschedule the superior planned order and i was expecting the lower level planned orders to reschedule based on the superior planned order.
My problem is
when i try to reschedule the superior planned order the system is not rescheduling the lower level planned orders.
For example if i change the basic finish date of superior planned order as 30/09/2014 and reschedule the planned order it is only scheduling the header planned order and the lower level planned order is not scheduling.
Could some one tell me why this is not happenning at planned order level.
As the rescheduling of collective order will work at production order level but for some reason it is not happening at planned order level(as there is no option available to do so).
Please give your thoughts on this asap.
Mahee.Hello Mahee
Please observe that your system is working as designed. Planned orders are scheduled independently, even when they are part of a network/collective order. Note 152319 explains the planned order scheduling in detail and it provides the following information:
* No scheduling of overall networks is executed although a directly manufactured component is assigned.
Note that no scheduling of the overall network is executed for planned orders. For the components requirements dates are determined. In order to cover them, planned orders are created in the next MRP run. Since the requirements are not managed using the exact time, the results of the planned order scheduling and of a scheduling of the overall network of the converted collective order can differ.

Hi Experts,
I am using process orders in our project. When I use the capacity planning to level the capacity through transaction CM21, I can despatch the operation without any issue and the associated phase also is getting despatched.
But if I want to deallocate the despatched operation, Iam not able to do that. System says the message, phase can not be deallocated. But once I despatch I find only one line assigned and not two lines as before despatch.
How to select the operation after despatch and how to deallocate?
Please help

Creation of Reservation for planned order
Hi Team,
Is it possible to create reservation for planned orders after MRP run?
My opinion was the reservation can only be created with reference to production order after MRP. The reservation can not be created with reference to planne dorders after MRP run because planned orders are intermident document which will not exist in the system always. The planned order details will not be available in the system once it get converted into production order.
How the reservation will be processed which was created with reference to planned order after converting the planned order to production order?
Kindly need ur guidance.
Thanks
pskDear PSK,
In a typical discrete manufacturing setup production orders are the promised receipt for which reservations gets generated as
soon a production order is created. But only if the order is released goods movements can be posted against the reservation
details through MIGO/MB1A for 261 movement.
It's not required to create any reservation at the planned order level or which may not help you in any means to your business.
But however in a REM scenario MF60 is used to create stock transfer reservations for 311 movement where planned orders
are used for production backflush. To explain in detail even without any planned orders you can do a stock transfer reservation
for a production quantity.
Check and revert back.

Missing part for planned order-reg
Hi,
I want to see missing parts list against planned orders. I checked through MDVP but it shows all components as missing parts eventhough stock is available.
Is there any way to see this.
Regards
KarthikDear Karthikeyan,
In general Availability check is done at production order level and rarely in REM scenario's this check is
carried out at planned order level.
Because planned order's are a proposal, which may/may not be converted into a production order.
At planned order level you carry out an ATP check and its based on the checking group, checking
rule,and the scope of check.
So check the config settings in OPJJ particularly for the scope of check.
Here the check box -->check without RLT plays a vital role.
once after carrying out ATP,the system shows the committed quantity, say if the order is for 100 and
suppose if the raw materials are available only for making 20 means then after making ATP check in the
planned order header you can see an additonal field called commited quantity below the order quantity.
Check in MD12 for an individual planned order and it works based on the availability check value
assigned in the material master.

Planned order number - MFBF - Backflush
Hi, Expert.
In t-code MFBF in th field "planned order number" where and how I can put in this field as mandatory.
I appreciate any help on this subject and also a step by step to implement, if possible
Best Regards
ArmandoDear Armando,
Even i faced this problem in one of my project
User used to Backflush material level instead of plan order level
But client requirement is user should only backflush via Plan order level
so we made Via SHD0, plan order field mandatory & Material field as Display mode
Plz check the below link for SHD0 & provide it to your Abaper

Configuration values for a planned order
I want to create a plan order for configurable material and want to assign characterstic values.
But all the configuration data is grayed out , so can some one tell me what I need to change to enable value assignment at plan order level?
thanks,
Husain,Hi Husein,
You can not create planned order manually for configurable material. The characteristic for configurable material is taken from sales order. When you run MRP for sales order, planned order will be created for this order. If you maintain variant where you determined the characteristic previously in MRP 3, you can create planned order this material variant. Remember maintain strategy planning with make to stock.
Other way you should use IS MILL.
Here some brief from help :
In SAP Mill Products you can manufacture configurable materials and material variants with production orders not only with reference to sales orders but also for stock. You can also change the characteristic value assignments of a material variant in production orders.
Prerequisites
The following requirements must be fulfilled in order to manufacture configurable materials and material variants for stock.
· Your SAP R/3 system must be linked to a SAP Advanced Planner and Optimizer (SAP APO) system because characteristics-based planning is only possible in SAP APO.
· The configurable material or the material variant must be contained in an active integration model.
· The material must be managed in batches so that warehouse stocks of materials with different characteristics can be distinguished.

Repititive Manufacturing-Planned orders
Hello Experts
I have a REM planned order having a quantity of 100 nos. If I do GR of 110 for this planned order,it will give a warning message number: RM124: "Backflush qty> plnd ord qty. Over delivery for planned order carried out". I dont want over delivery. So I would like to make this message to error. Which is the tcode in spro.
Is there any other way to prevent overdelivery.Dear ,
I do not think Over delivery or under delivery tolerence in GR can be given in Planned Order level .Basically this tolerence level are in Work Scheduling view which is not applicable in REM scinario.
To my knowledege , there is no such configuration set up to avoid execss GR in REM .We need to think some txan variant OR User exit in MFBF level

Capacity Leveling in CM25 by Sequence Number in Planned Order
Hello Gurus,
I am having an issue with dispatching planned orders using tabular form. We have to use the tabular form in order to be able to have our program select all planned orders.
I have been testing and testing this trying to get it to work. We have sequence numbers defined for our planned orders in the PLAF-SEQNR field. When entering CM25, we are wanting to dispatch all of our planned orders at once and have them dispatched in the correct order by sequence number. I have the Strategy Profile defined for Finite Scheduling, Plan. direction forwards, and no closing of gaps. and I have my Dispatch Sequence layout key defined to only use the Sequence Number in the Planned Orders.
We need to use the tabular form so we can select all planned orders. I set up the requirements grouping to only include planned orders that are not yet dispatched.
When I use the graphical form instead of tabular and I manually highlight all of the planned orders and dispatch then they are all in the correct order with all of the gaps are closed...which is what i want.
However, I need to be able to do this using the tablular form. No matter how I try to set up the strategy profile, it doesnt seem to work using tabular form. They are dispatched according to start date with gaps in between the orders.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
I also have the following defined in Strategy Profile for Dispatching Control:
Sort operation to be dispatched
Consider operation sequence in the order
Midpoint scheduling
Thank you.

Planned order splitting during capacity planning
Hello,
anybody plese help me during the capacity planning in T.code.CM31 i want to split a planned order and want to assign alternative sequence. how can i do this and the capacity should be reschedule automatically to my requirement date. i am using backward scheduling.
plese suggest immediately
Thanks and reagards
BhaktaDear Bhakta
MRP does not perfom any Capacity Requirement Planning .While you are executing MRP with Lead Time Scheduling , MRP proposes Planned Order Dates based on the Routing Operation Timing not based on the Work Centre available Capacity because in SAP Std R/3 we did not have scope to check the finite scheduling and capacity requirement chek .MRP assume that Work Centre has infinite available capacity .
In MRP run , it will give you Detail scheduling of the Operation in Planned Order -Detail Scheduling tab and copied the routing , BOM as master data .When you convert that Planned order to Production order , it will copy the Routing details based on the Order Type denpendt Parameters -OPL8-Routing -Alternative sequnce and Automatic selection -3 option
Thats why we have Capacity Requirement Planning for Detail Capcity check and production order scheduling .
Note : Earlier to my first reply , please note that you have option in CM21 enter sequence number at order level which may applicable to you .CM21-Work Centre -exectute -Select the Order from order pool -Goto Order -Sequence number maintainence
This number( sequence number operation /order ) that can be assigned to production orders or planned orders at the level of the task list header and is therefore valid for all the operations in an order.
Hope this is clear .Revert if you nees farther help

Any std report in Capacity Planning showing only dispatched orders/opns ?
Hi CRP gurus:
Does SAP has any standard report/transaction in Capacity Planning that shows (or has a selection for showing) only "dispatched" orders/opns ?
- ChetanChetan,
Use transaction COOIS. In this choose Operations, System status as DSPT at operation level, enter plant and execute. You will get only orders and the operations which are dispatched in this plant.
You can navigate to the capacity planning table from the selected records through order change.
Hope this is ok with you,...reward points..and close.

Planned order based capacity planning
Dear Guru's,
Is it possible to view & analyse work load on work centers for planned orders in R/3? Please let us know the settings to be done if needed.
Regards,
SAP CONSHi,
Yes it is possible to view and analyze the work load on work centers for planned order..other than standard configuration settings and master data set up no separate settings required for this....still wait for the answers from the other forum experts.
Ensure while doing MRP run on MRP control parameters use option 2 for scheduling as shown below..
