Capacity planning for Work Center

I programmed time for a Work Center on internal activity, for 40 hr using 100% of one resource, the work center it has  a capacity of 8 hr each day, the activity gets a duration of 5 days and I indicated that it has to begin the first day of the next month.
When I executed transaction CM01, I notice that the 40 hours are planned for the actual day and don´t respect the dates of the internal activity, I think it is a problem with the work center but do not find the error.
Any suggestion where to look for?

  • Capacity Limit for work center

    Hi PP experts,
Our client have a requirement to map the moulds used in their manufacturing process as a resource to plan the capacity. But they want to assignment of capacity limit to this resource.
I.e. A mould can produce 1000 products. So 1000 is the capacity of the mould and as per its use in production order this capacity will reduce. So if I have a production order to produce 100 products, then after the production order processing, the remaining capacity should be 900.
Is there any way to map this by standard SAP or through enhancements??
    A quick reply is appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards
    Enrico.

    Hi Digambar,
Thanks a lot for your reply.
I would like to explain in detail what is my exact requirement so that you may be able to help me.
The mould is used in a machine to produce the final product. The mould is having a total capacity when its procured but its total capacity reduces also. after each use i.e. The mould can be used for producing a certain quantity of the product and this capacity reduces after each production run.
For eg If the total capacity of the mould is to produce 1000 no of a product which will be available daily or weekly etc, and if my production order is for 100 Nos, after the production run, I can use the mould only for producing 900 product next time.
But in standard SAP, if Iam assigning the available capacity for the mould resource as 1000, I will be having the same capacity every day or every week even after I produce any quantity
So what exactly Iam looking for is a kind of usage factor which can reduce the capacity after every usage of the mould. Is it possible some how in R/3 or APO? either by standard or by any enhancement?
    Request your expert advise
    Thanks

    Dear ,
To answer the question for Capacity requirement planning on sales order I would say that MRP does  only materials planning based on demand and reciept  but never does Capacity Requirement Plannig .MRP generates Planned Order  and susequently , production order can be genreted and farther you can carry out capacity requirement planning based on the work cente available capacity , requirement and load for those MTO orders .
But there are SAP business suit like APO-SNP APO PPDS which carriy our details scheduleing and caapcity check based on the demand situation : Sales Order ,Independent Order  and does capcaity vaialbality chek for those demands while planning .
Now , here is the answer of your question :
    1) Can Capacities are Scheduled as per priority given in SO automatically. : Not possible  through  SAP MRP but in APO-PPDS, APO-SNP-CTM , Herustic model .
    2) Can revised availability dates will be reflected in SO. : It can be reflected as per the ATP chekc , Replishmenet Lead  Time and re-scheduling horizon maintained in OPPQ-Carry all overall plant parametres.
    3) Which reports will be useful for understanding consolidated availability date of material for given sales order/s. : You can check through MD04/MD05 or in sales order -Availaibility check -Schedule Line -Availaibility date .
Hope your are clear about the requirememt .

  • Capacity Planning for External Procurement Material

Hi, I have the following requirements.
MRP Scheduling is getting executed material level (material no, plant) with scheduling type 2 which means lead time scheduling using MD02 Transaction Code. This is works fine for the Inhouse Product. In order to achieve lead time the functional team has maintained the necessary routing/workcenter configs.
The business needs the same functionality "Capacity requirements calculation" for the external procurement material. Business is willing to maintain routing/workcenter config.
Currently standard program (MD02) is not considering the Capacity planning for the external Procurement material.
Could you please suggest is it can be controlled through programming.
Kindly suggest the function modules for Capacity Planning - materialwise, plantwise.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks
    Giri

    Hi Giri
I think the requirement is not mentioned clearly. Capacity is required only if the material is assembled/produced in house.
Anyway try this. Set the Procurement type to X in the MRP views in material master. You might have to define your custom material type so that it does not force the procurement type to F. Try the feature called "Quota arrangement". The idea is to define the material in such a way that it can be procured externally or produced in house. With quota arrangement you can say what % has to be bought and what % to be produced in house. If it is produced in house then you can have capacity requirements.

  • ALE/iDoc for Work Center data transfer

    Hello, community.
I am working on several interfaces for the PP and PM modules using iDocs/ALE.
One of the requirements is that only created and modified data must be distributed from R/3.
For Work Centers, we are using basic type LOIWCS02 and message type LOIWCS. We are generating iDocs through transaction POIM, which has two transfer modes: Complete (data for all Work Centers etc.) and Change (only new and updated data).
The Change Transfer Mode assumes you have set both Change Pointers and Change Documents for the objects to be transfered. Otherwise, it'll work just like the Complete Transfer Mode.
Our PP consultant told me there is no configuration to generate Change Documents for Work Center data modifications.
Can anybody give me other opinions? I'll resort to Z-table solutions only if I have no other options.

    Hi Danilo,
Do you know what the process codes are for
    LOIWCS and LOIROU ?
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks,
    Gopi.

  • User Exit or DB-Table for Work Center (CR01)

    Hi!
I have an external software which must be triggered when the user changes a work center in SAP (transaction CR01,CR02). I was looking for an user exit to do what ever is necessary but I couldn't find one.
So, does anybody know an user exit or BADI for work center?
    Also possible:
The database table where work center are stored. So I could poll against this table and check if a work center was changed. I found the table SGOSHIST which log all modified objects in SAP. So this could maybe used to check for modified work center, I think.
    Thanks,
    Konrad

    > You can check the BADI definition from transaction SE18,
    > 'LTRM_WORK_CNTR_DTRM', this might be helpful,
How can I check this BADI. If I use SE18, it doas not exist, buit if I try to create it, the system tells me that it already exists in the SAP Original System... and asks me if I want to create a copy of it! I don't know what to do at this point!
    > Work center details are avilable in CRHD table, you can
    > look for CR* from SE11 transaction,
I know, but if you change the description of the work center, it is stored in CRTX. there are a lot of CR* tables. It would be helpful to have a table which is updated every time a work center is modified!
    Thanks,
    Konrad

  • Copy planning for cost center Runtime error

    Dear Gurus,
I am running KP97 to copy planning for cost center.
but I got following runtime error:
    ===================================================================
    Runtime Errors         DYN_CALL_METH_CLASS_NOT_FOUND
    Exception              CX_SY_DYN_CALL_ILLEGAL_CLASS
           Occurred on     07.01.2009 at 13:21:25
    What happened?
    Error in ABAP application program.
The current ABAP program "SAPLGUMD " had to be terminated because one of the
    statements could not be executed.
This is probably due to an error in the ABAP program.
    What can you do?
Print out the error message (using the "Print" function)
and make a note of the actions and input that caused the
    error.
To resolve the problem, contact your SAP system administrator.
You can use transaction ST22 (ABAP Dump Analysis) to view and administer
termination messages, especially those beyond their normal deletion
    date.
    Error analysis
An exception occurred. This exception is dealt with in more detail below
. The exception, which is assigned to the class 'CX_SY_DYN_CALL_ILLEGAL_CLASS',
    was neither
caught nor passed along using a RAISING clause, in the procedure
    "USER_REFRESH_RE_EA" "(FORM)"
Since the caller of the procedure could not have expected this exception
to occur, the running program was terminated.
The reason for the exception is:
Class "CL_REEX_COPL_MASTERDATA_CHECK" was chosen during dynamic method call,
    but could not be found.
    =====================================================================
can anybody give me a hint how to solve the problem?
    B.R.
    George
Hi all, I searched the SAP notes, and found there is one note NOTE_0000632335 related to copy planning, I installed the note by TCode snote. the KP97 can run now, but for the IDES controling area 1000, I tried to test run copy version 0, period 1 to 12 from Fiscal year 2003 to 2004.
there are many records with error.
shall I ignore the error , unselect the test run and continue?
does anyone have similar experience with IDES R/3 4.71? why cannot I carry out all steps in online document for IDES?

Hi I checked the error with copying plan data. it's all because of 'plan data already exists'.
so I just ignore the error and continue.
    thanks!

  • Capacity Planning for Workflow Manager

Some information is available regarding highly available Workflow Manager implementations but I cannot find any information regarding when or how you should perform capacity planning for the workflow manager.
A few questions are jumping out at me.
When would we want/need a dedicated Workflow Manager server? (I can understand if this was shared between multiple farms this may be a benefit but what about from a pure capacity perspective).
Are there any case studies or documentation that we can use as a baseline estimation for capacity for the workflow manager?
Generally speaking for a small/medium farm deployment is it expected that this service also run on the application server?
certifications MCITP, MCTS, MCPD | blog
    http://corypeters.net | twitter
    @cory_peters

That would really depend on what kind of workflows are being run and the traffic being generated by the users. If you have long and complex workflows, you will need multiple nodes in the farm to handle.
Our tests with very simple workflows on a 16-core 16GB machine with SQL Server on a diff machine showed that it could handle 400 incoming messages per second and 65 workflow executed per second. Now if you have complex workflows, it may slow down further.
If you have one msg per user per second - it may mean 400 users handled per second. But I wouldn't make that conclusion - u must test your farms against your scale needs and accordingly plan your farm capacity
    Hope this helps

  • Capacity planning for DB, pctfree pctuser

What is segment, pctfree, pctused ? want to clear my concepts...
Secondly how we can do capacity planning for Database growth?

The simplest and most accurate approach is
    - Create the schema
    - Load it with a representative amount of data (i.e. 1-2% of the expected data volume)
    - Measure the amount of disk required
    - Multiply by an appropriate factor to determine the eventual size
You can also do back of the envelope calculations, taking the average row size of your larger tables, multiplying by the expected number of rows, then adding an appropriate multiplier. Probably in the neighborhood of 2 to account for indexes, empty space in the table, etc., but this is very application specific.
