Captivate 7 - Browse in Bridge greyed out ??

Just purchased and installed Captivate 7 (with assurance program). "Browse in Bridge" is greyed out under "File" pulldown. I also have CS4 Production that has Bridge CS4.
User manual says "Adobe Bridge is integrated with Adobe Captivate 7 and later." Also, "Alternatively, you can click the Browse Bridge Connection tool button". However I can't find that button.
I can drag photos from Bridge CS4 onto a slide in CP7, but no back and forth, etc. It doesn't look like Bridge CP got installed on my machine.
Any help appreciated.

Hello and welcome to the forum,
I have trial CP7 installed and have Creative Cloud, which means also Bridge CS6. The option Browse in Bridge is available to me. Maybe that is not the case for you because CS4 is 3 versions back...? Captivate doesn't include Bridge itself, the option will be only available if you have already Bridge installed (same with roundtripping Audition, Photoshop, Flash).

"Place in" function in Bridge greyed out, after uninstalling previous version of CC.

I recently updated to the CC 2014 version of the apps. After that I removed the previous versions of Photoshop, Indesign and Illustrator.
Now the 'Place In" function in Bridge is greyed out. I tried restoring File associations, re-installing Bridge etc... but nothing worked. It's still unavailable.
Is there any way I can link Bridge with the 2014 apps again so I can use the 'place in' function again?

There are 2 startup scripts in Bridge: "Adobe Bridge CC" script & "Auto Collection Scripts CC 2014". When I click 'reveal all my startup scripts' I get an empty folder.
I also tried resetting my preferences but that didn't help. The 'Place in...' function is still greyed out.
I also had to manually set all the file associations with my apps because bridge always tried to open the previous versions from Photoshop CC, Illustrator CC etc...
(in fact...If I reset the file associations, bridge defaults back to the previous versions for all apps... and then I have to change it again to the CC 2014 version)
It's as if Bridge doesn't know I have the CC 2014 version and can't communicate with it.

Adobe Reader X - Display PDF in Browser Option is Greyed out

Looking for a registry fix to unlock the Display PDF in Browser option. Not sure how it is greyed out to begin with. My MST file was not set to Lock anything. Please help. I cannot find anything anywhere of use to "ungrey" this option.
It seems to happen when Acrobat is installed.
How can I fix and how can I prevent in future releases??

Metadata Panel in Bridge - Greyed Out - what did I do?

I am using CS2 and the metadata panel (view - Metadata panel) is greyed out. What can I do to make it active?

Does it gray out for files in other folders, have you tried to create a new window?
Check if your files are not write protected or locked and try to reset the preferences. In Bridge 2 that means holding down the shift + option + command key while restarting bridge and check the rest options you will.
Don't know if that is the same for Bridge 1 but you can try.

File browser prerecorded components greyed out

I have Soundtrack v1.2. No matter what I do I cannot select any buttons whether I choose instruments, generic, etc. They all stay greyed out. What have I switched off and how d I bring these buttons back to active so when I click on an instrument, say, guitar I get further choices of loops. I have DP G4, 10.3.9 - running FCP4.5HD

Also make sure that you do not start Firefox with the -private command line switch.

I have set Firefox to never remember history, and 'Stop private browsing' is accordingly greyed out in the options menu, but Firefox still remembers history items even after restart -- why?

I have just downloaded Firefox after reformatting my hard drive so I was not upgrading -- I wonder if I am missing a file which would have been there if I was upgrading from an earlier version.
Not much else to say: I ticked the relevant boxes.

If you set "Firefox will: Never remember history" then you enter Private Browsing mode immediately.
You can see a grayed "Tools > Stop Private Browsing" to confirm that.
This doesn't affect already stored History, but Firefox won't add new visited links to the History.
If you want to remove sites from the History then you need to do that yourself.
You can (temporarily) set the pref [http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.sessionstore.max_tabs_undo browser.sessionstore.max_tabs_undo] to ''0'' to clear the ''Recently Closed Tabs'' list.
Use the ''Reset'' context menu item to re-enable ''Undo Closed Tabs'' with the default value if you want to re-use that feature.
You can temporarily set the pref browser.sessionstore.max_windows_undo to 0 to reset the Recently Closed Windows list,
However there appears to be always one window left that is only removed if you close and restart Firefox.
You can avoid that by closing all tabs before closing the window with only an empty tab left.
Set the pref '''browser.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab''' to ''false'' on the about:config page to prevent closing the last tab from closing the browser.

Captivate edit psd file greyed out!

I have the entire CS 5.5 suite, Captivate, Photoshop, Bridge, etc. In Captivate, <Edit PSD File> is greyed out. What do I have to do to get Captivate to recognize the other tools in the suite so that I may edit source while in Captivate? Thanks for your response.

I agree with what you are saying. Unfortunately, Adobe's policies are unlikely to change UNLESS they hear from enough unhappy customers. One way to voice your displeasure is to file a Wish Form/Bug Report. You could file a Bug Report stating that you feel it's a bug that the products don't easily integrate. (link to the form is in my sig)
You do have an option to right-click objects in the library and open them using any editor you like. Perhaps that helps?

WRVS4400N Can't Upgrade Firmware - Browse Button Greyed Out

Hello,
I have a Cisco WRVS4400N v2 and I have downloaded the latest firmware, but when I log into the router and go to Administration > Firmware Upgrade, the Browse button is greyed out.
I have tried logging in from both the WAN and the LAN side, and the Browse button is greyed out from both sides.
I also tried enabling Remote Upgrade under the Firewall setting, but the Enable button is greyed out as well.
Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong.
I have tried IE and Firefox and it doesn't appear to be a browser issue.

please try to use IE 8 and make sure that you are logged in as Admin in the top right corner.

GB4: Loops are greyed out, if i drop loop folders onto, nothing happens

hi
i use to have many loops and stuff in my folder: computer>library>app.support>garageband>apple loops> 15 subfolders...
it used to work. now i cant see any loop in the browser anymore. its greyed out.
when i drop my folder onto the area, it loads for 2 sec. then nothing happens.
earlier days this worked always.
any idea?

Playbar options are greyed out on skin editor Captivate 6

Hi Everyone,
I am building modules and all of a sudden when I went to publish the module the playbar is gone, I went to the skin editor and now the playbar options are completely greyed out and nothing I do will allow me to turn them back on....PLEASE HELP!!!

You do not need 3 variables at all, which was the reason why I asked my 'new' question. Are you using real pretest question slides or normal question slides or custom question slides?
If you use Pretest question slides, the score will be stored in cpQuizInfoPretestPointsscored and the percentage in cpQuizInfoPretestScorePercentage
If you use normal question slides, the score will be stored in cpQuizInfoPointsscored and the percentage in cpInfoPercentage
If you use custom question slides, you'll have user variables in which you calculate both score and percentage
If the numbers you are mentioning are percentages you'll create one conditional action with 3 decisions (here example for normal question slides):
First decision: IF cpInfoPercentage is greater or equal to 70
                             Jump to slide CHP3_1
Second decision: IF cpInfoPercentage is less than 70   AND
                               cpInfoPercentage is greater or equal to 50
                                   Jump to slide CP2_1
Third decision: IF cpInfoPercentage is less than 50
                           Jump to slide CHP1_1
The slide labels CHPx_1 are for the first slides of each chapter.

Some options are greyed out in Captivate 8.0.1 and my bullets do not work?

Hi, I am using Captivate 8.0.1 and am having trouble with 2 things:
1. The bullets and indents that I have formated for my responsive project appear very messed up and not as I have formatted when I view my project in Edge Inspect?
2. Some options in the TOC are greyed out (that I really need for my project). These option are to upload an icon and to align the position of the TOC (It wont let me align to the side of my project as the only option available is for 'overlay'.
Any ideas on how to fix these problems would be much appreciated.

Captivate 8 introduced the first "Responsive" type of project. And in these types of projects, certain things simply won't work in the output. Henceforth, their options will often be disabled (or "grayed out"). The TOC appears to be one such item. The only option is to use an overlay TOC. I would suspect that this is because of "responsive design". Since the output will be adapting to differing screen sizes, I'm guessing that adding an additional 250 or so pixels for a TOC could prove troublesome and would likely throw off all the other design elements.
Where exactly are you finding you are not capable of uploading an icon? I see that I'm able to upload icons that represent the collapse and expand gizmos, but you may be in a different spot.

Has anyone experience a problem with not being able to add a drumbeat loop to a prerecorded project? When I open the loop browser, there are only a few options available. The rest are greyed out. I can only choose individual drum sounds, not full beats

I have created a project and recorded 2 tracks, one with a guitar and the other vocals. I would like to add a drum loop, but when I pull up the loop browser, all of the normal selections aren't available. Some are greyed out, including "Beats". "All Drums" is available, but when I click on it it pulls up some cymbal sounds only. I've opened some old recordings in GB to see if this is a consistent issue, but it's not. Only this one project won't allow me to use drum loops. Which leads me to believe there is something I have selected or not selected within the project that's not allowing me to see all the loops. Any help would be much appreciated.

Loops greyed out in loop browser

Can any one tell me how to make some greyed out loops in the loop browser play?
The loops in question are in the following location on the HD:
H/D / LIB / AUDIO / APPLE LOOPS / APPLE / APPLE LOOPS FOR GARAGE BAND.
About 15% of these loops are greyed out in the loop browser and will not play. They play fine in QT if you select them from the apple loops folder.
If I drag them into the loop browser then they appear in black above the grey version and WILL play!

When I open a second Firefox browser window, the URL address window, instead of showing the URL, says "Go to a Web Site;" also, and more importantly, the "back" button is greyed out. This is a new problem, and the first Firefox window I open works fine.

After I open the first Firefox browser window, any additional window I open does not open my homepage, but opens a blank page with "New Tab" showing on the tab. An orange "Firefox" tab with a drop down arrow shows at the upper left hand corner of the screen. All of the options (File, Edit, etc.) are greyed out, however they will work if you move your cursor over them.
The URL address window says "Go to a Web Site". After I've gone to a website, the back button remains greyed out and I am not able to go back to a previous page. My RoboForm and Netcraft toolbars only show up in an abbreviate form. The add-on bar doesn't show up at all.
Again, this is a recent problem, and only happens after I've opened one browser window (which works fine) and then open additional browser windows (as few as one additional).

I had this same problem. Seems to be caused by the web developer tool bar FF extension (this started happening after a recent update to that extension). After disabling it, my FF is back to normal :)
