"Capture MySQL" is grayed out

Hello, I'm trying to migrate a MySQL 5.0.22 database to Oracle 10.2.0.3 using SQL Developer. I have installed the proper drivers (mysql-connector-java-5.0.5-bin.jar) and I can connect to the MySQL database fine. However, when I right-click on the SQL Developer connection as per instructions, the 'Capture MySQL' option is grayed out. This happens even when I am logged in as root. Any suggestions?

We should really put this in a tooltip. However, the getting started guide would walk you thru the process normally and this situation wouldnt arise.

Hello,
We click capture to capture the video. However, we cannot stop it. We try to click on the pause the the option is gray out. All the function keys on the capture panel is gray out.

Is this a double-post, as I see the same thing in the PrE forum, on this THREAD?
Exactly which version of Premiere are you using? PrE and PrPro are somewhat similar, but different enough that one should post to the specific forum, as users of PrE might not know PrPro, and vice versa. Also, directions for one might not translate to the other - similar, but different.
Let us know about which version of Premiere you are using. If PrE, then the MOD's can delete this post. If PrPro, then the MOD's might want to branch off that Thread's Replies to here, as some material has already been covered there.

Audio Capture not available / grayed out

I have a Samsung SC-D263 connected and when I try to capture video in FCE there is no audio. When looking in the settings, the check box for audio capture is grayed out... any ideas?
I managed to find drivers for the camera, but i don't know how to install them...

What audio checkbox are you talking about?
Do you see the video in the capture window? Do the meters move?

Log & Capture Title Field Grayed Out/Can't Write

While logging clips from a mini-dv tape (in Log & Capture), I clicked in the title field and that field suddenly grayed out and I cannot write in the title field. My temporary solution is to check "prompt" so that I can write titles for clips after I log them. Log and Capture work fine as does everything else in FC 7. I tried trashing prefs but no luck. Any suggestions or solutions out there?

Well, I can accept that that's normal, although I'd say it's nonoptimal UI design, since it made me think I was onto my problem.
Which still exists as described in initial post. Any ideas, anyone?

'New Table' context menu item is unavailable/grayed out (connected to mysql

Using Sql Developer 3.2.10..., JDK 1.6.0_11 (bundled) on Windows 7
DB is Mysql 5.5, using jdbc driver 5.0.8
When I connect to the db, and attempt to create a new table by right clicking on Tables, the option for New Table is grayed out. The db user has been granted all permissions.
My real goal is to create a table using an excel/csv, but unable to do this.
Also - when I click the New... button, and select Table, a dialog pops up to select a connection. It is empty and there are no connections available in it. I am unable to specify a connection there.
Any ideas about what might cause these options to be unavailable?

"Scan" button grayed out in Image Capture.app

Two days ago my scanner was working fine with Image Capture. Just now when I tried to scan again, Image Capture sees the scanner and does the "Overview" scan just fine, however when I go to do the actual scan, the SCAN button is grayed out and I can't scan my documents. Does anyone know what might be going on?

I reselected the scanner and that seemed to do the trick.

"name" field grayed out in Log and Capture

I'm using the latest version of FCP and for some reason the "name" field is grayed out in the log and capture tool. Even when i select "prompt" the clip goes untitled into the logging bin. I am capturing on the fly with no deck control. However, if i try to log a clip with deck control, the prompt works but i still can not enter a clip name in the "name" field on it's own.
any suggestions?

How do I get my Built-in Mic to work in Audio MIDI setup, grayed out 1

My iMac is over a month old, and the first week I had it I tried to talk on Skype with a friend. My mic wouldn't work, and after making an Apple Care appointment with a local Mac store last weekend, we found out that the iMac DOES hear me, Dictation works with my voice, but for some reason Skype won't pick me up. Another program I sometimes use is Livestream Procaster, and neither pick up audio from me, oddly though they do pick up finger tapping on the desk, which is no further away from the computer than I myself am.
I Googled this issue with Skype and I found this page:

It shows a screen capture using Audio MIDI Setup, and I opened mine to make sure everything was in order, but my CH: 1 & 2 are both grayed out, so I can't adjust them at all.

And I did check to make sure that my Interal Mic is selected in Skype, Livestream Procaster, and even my iMac's System Preferences. I wonder if it has something to do with this Audio MIDI Setup. I don't actually know, but from searching for solutions, this is the only thing that doesn't seem to match up with suggestions I've found online.

I'm talking with a friend, and he says I'm muffled, and he can't understand me but can hear that I'm talking. When I turn on dictation to record what I'm saying he says I come through crystal clear.
The problem is I don't know if this is a Mac issue or a Skype issue. I was going to go to Skype, but when I found that page that I linked to above, that's what lead me to believe it's a Mac issue again because I can't get my Audio MIDI Setup to match the suggestion made by the user in that link.

F-28 Incoming payment BSEG-XREF1/2 & BSEG-XREF3 grayed out on clearing line

We apply payment Using SAP standard transaction code F-28 - post incoming payment.
Business requirement is to capture Reference Key 1/2 & Reference Key 3 are on cleared as well as partial line items. Populating these fields will help reconciliation.
I have opened up these fields for data entry via
SPRO - Financial Accounting - Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
- Business Transactions - Incoming Payments - Make and Check Document
Settings- Define Posting Keys.
These fields are available only for partial or payment on account. For clearing lines its grayed out completely.

I would like to share workaround. As mentioned in my prior mail these fields were open for entry, however SAP prevents any changes. Opening up OSS message with SAP was not helpful. To get around I decided to create substitution rule to populate these fields. It works fine. I thought sharing with this forum. Thanks for for your time.

Can't Do a Fresh Install of Pshop From the CS2 CDs: Pshop App Install Option is 'Grayed Out'

I have CS2 Premium which I'm running on an older PowerPC Mac (G5 - Dual 2.3 GHz ) running OS 10.4.11. I've had this setup for many many years (registered/activated with Adobe) but suddenly one day I could no longer launch my Photoshop app: when I clicked on the Pshop icon it would start the launch (open) procedure ... and then almost instantly it would quit (in just a few seconds ... before the application even got to the 'title/credit' screen).
I've recently tried uninstalling CS2 (everything except Acrobat) and I ended up doing a manual uninstall of Version Cue. I've been on Macs for 20+ years so figured this would be a pretty straightforward procedure - uninstall -> reinstall and then back to work. Nope.
I'm attempting a fresh installation direct from the original CS2 CDs. In any event, when I try to (re)install CS2 - and after going through the standard screens with Adobe's usage terms agreement and installation hard disk selection - I arrive at the screen where one selects which application(s) to install by checking the various boxes (or alternately, to install the entire suite) but the 'Adobe Photoshop CS2/Adobe ImageReady CS2' line and checkbox are grayed out, so it will not allow me to check them and continue with the Photoshop installation process. Gah!!!
I've been struggling with this for hours .... with no progress.
Any ideas on what I need to do to enable Photoshop to be installed again?

PS to Administration: I've been a forum member for about 6-7(?) years, but the site isn't accepting my user ID/password. I filled out the form to have my user ID sent to my email address, but it never arrived. I don't know what's up, but I had to re-register - I used my old user ID - in order to make this post.

I'm not sure if the crash is or isn't related to fonts.
Deciphering the crash long is something I don't have any experience with.
I'm not even sure how the crash log is structured. I've downloaded two screen captures: one from the top of the adobe Photoshop crash log and one from the bottom. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable than I can discern what may be causing the crash?

All files on new iPod are grayed out when connected and viewed in iTune 7.6

I just bought a new 80GB iPod classic. I have been able to get everything loaded and it works fine (I have to get used to the new interface but that's OK). What is odd is that when I click on "music" on the now fully loaded iPod contents list of some 1,500 songs, all of then a grayed out and I cannot do any sort of renaming/re-arranging/deletion whatsoever. No doubt this is a simple setting that I am just not hip to. It did ask me to update to iPod software 1.1.1 when I put it in and I did.
Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like your iPod is in auto-sync mode, which greys out the contents and won't let you change things. That's normal since you're expected to make such changes to your iTunes library and re-sync your iPod to capture the changes.
If you want to manage the contents directly on the iPod, you need to select the option "Manually manage music and video", found on the general iPod summary when you connect to iTunes.

Most menu grayed out when using a Pages Newsletter template

I selected a newsletter template (Design newsletter) and I'm working on it to create my own newsletter. I've been able to do some changes, but when trying to do add objects to the master (I want to have a watermark in each page), or insert page numbers, or a page break i can see that a lot of the menu items are grayed out. Is there something I'm missing? When i create a document from scratch all the menu is available. I even tried to copy all I had in the newsletter I'm creating and pasting to a new blank document, but then it looks complete messed up... Please give me a hand with this

*Page Layout* mode does not have master objects. Instead there is a template for each layout under the Pages menu on the toolbar.
For watermarks you will have to position the graphic, change its transparency, send it to the back and lock it.
Then:
+Menu > Format > Advanced > Capture Pages…+
Name the new page template which will then appear under the Pages menu on the toolbar. You will get a copy of that particular layout every time you select it from the menu. Think of it like a rubber stamp or Xerox copier, not a master anything.
Retrospectively editing is a PITA as editing a page template does nothing to pages already using a template. The process of replacing a template, pointless as it is, is rendered even more absurd by the arcane method needed to do it. You have to type exactly the same name as the existing page template, including U&lc, without being able to view the name, then overwrite it.
The mess continues as it asks whether you want to include more than the one page but all other options are greyed out. There are a string of features which don't work, half work or work badly with no explanation.
It is confusing as *Page Layout* mode actually lacks exactly the kind of things that you would expect of most layout programs but the features still remain in the menus from *Word Processing* mode.
It is the consequence of some very muddled thinking by Apple's programmers.

Wireless grayed out

Hi,
I have a iPhone 4s (for about 10mo - never had problems) upgraded to iOS 7.1.1; then on 5/19 while on facetime - wireless glitched out.
Re-booted the phone, reset wireless without success. The phone was under warranty and luckily I got a replacement. I had the old phone backed up and restored the new one from the back-up (as being told at my Genius Bar appointment). The phone worked fine until 6/24 when I turned it on and found the wireless grayed out again!!!! To keep the post short: I had another Genius Bar appointment got the phone replaced again. This time I was told I should not have restored my phone as it restored a glitch in the software... I should re-install apps, music etc from scratch... which I did.
I thought a restore would just restore settings, apps etc. but not the entire iOS (?)
Is there anything I should or should not do to prevent my wireless from going out again???

Can't change speed to Variable/grayed out

I tried searching this board under various speed terminologies including time remap and also the manual and FCP Help at apple.com but cannot find the answer. I want to use the time remap feature but variable speed is grayed out. If I try command J I have the same issue. It is set on constant speed and I can't change it. I tried numerous clips and have the problem with each of them... curious...
I've done it before and it worked fine.
Any help would be appreciated.

Glad you've gotten it working, and I believe this is the primary workflow for this operation. I know I've seen posts of people 'globally' doing speed changes in either the viewer or the browser (can't remember which ATM), but I've not been successful with that process.
I've always done speed changes in the timeline (and always in a seperate 'working' timeline, then bringing the clip back into my project timeline.
One thing to be aware of, if you're not already...FCP works very strangely with time-remapping...the upshot is that FCP looks at the 'original' file length to extrapolate the keyframes...EX:
If you time-remap a 10 second clip that was captured as a 10 second clip, things should work great.
If you time-remap a 10 second portion of a clip that was captured as a 20 minute chunk, things will be very funky.
Workaround is to cut out only the 10 sec. portion of a long clip you want to time-remap and export that as a self-contained file, then import that file and apply time-remapping to it...weird science, but that's been pretty consistently documented in this forum

24pA rev telecine grayed out

Just bought a sony v1u and shot with the 24pA setting. i brought it into FCP with the 1080i60 Easy Setup. Dragged the source file into cinematools to get the reverse telecine and it is grayed out. When i tried a batch reverse telecine, it said something about temporal compression and error. any ideas?

It appears you are using the native HDV CODEC. Convert your movie to the Apple Intermediate CODEC and it should work. I believe you can do this in Compressor or MPEG StreamClip. You can also just recapture the footage in Intermediate. Leave all the other settings the same, just change the CODEC from HDV to Apple Intermediate, then capture.
Cinema Tools doesn't work with CODEC's that have interframe compression.
