Does Photoshop Elements use the GPU?

I cannot find a difinitive statement as to whether Photoshop Elements uses the GPU or not. I am about to buy a new computer and I am trying to determine if I should spend the money to get a higher end graphics card or not. The two options in the computer I am looking at are the Nvidia Quadro K1000M and K2000M, both with 2Gb. The K2000M is $250 more and I need to decide if it will provide better performance with Elements. Thanks.

Some software use the computer’s GPU (addition to or in place of the CPU) in order to complete its given task in a shorter period of time. Photoshop is an example of one of these applications; it uses the GPU instead of the CPU to complete its tasks faster. 3DS Max is another example. It uses all available cores to render faster.
Now you might be thinking those all have to do with graphics... Well... Doesn’t imovie have to do with graphics, too? I mean utilizing the GPU to encode video is a good idea IMO. Even if you don’t associate iMovie with graphics, and somehow think it’s impossible for it to ever take advantage of a GPU, what about the other software that’s completely unrelated to graphics and video encoding? The legality or intentions of the software is questionable... (ie wireless network auditing) But regardless, it still takes advantage of the GPU to accelerate its tasks to incredible speeds. If stuff like that can do it, why can’t a program designed for processing video do it?
Anyway, I won’t be able to tell you if adobe makes NTSC discs or not. I already have toast 10 which I just discovered it burns NTSC DVD discs and even Blu Ray video discs without returning a demuxing error every other video. And to think it was only useful for burning data discs. It doesn’t use the GPU either, but it seems to encode DVD video considerably faster than iDVD.

Can Photoshop Elements Use Floating Licence?

We would like to know the following:
1. Can we acquire Photoshop Elements (PSE) 11 instead of PSE12?
2. Can we install instead of 1 licence per PC is to set up network as floating licence? For example if we acquire 6 licences, instead of installing only to six PC, the license can be floating so more PC can access the software, but only 6 can work at given time. This is to maximize license use.
3. Where can I talk for live support?
I am currently located at Philippines (national capital region).

You really need to be speaking directly to Adobe about this (this is a user to user forum) but generally
You can still get PSE11 from third party vendors but not Adobe.
To PSE11 I believe the licence only allows installation on two computers at any one time, and only one of which can be used at any one time.
PSE12 uses a new 'sign-in' authorisation method. You can actually install the software on as many PC's as you have, but only two can ever be signed in at any one time and therefore usable. Note though that even with two signed in the licence only allows for one to be in use at any one time.
I doubt your network suggestion will work. Elements is really designed to be run on a standalone PC by a user with administrative rights.

Can i open Photoshop Elements using Lightroom

In the Menu Photo/Edit In
can I set it to open in Elements 10
And will it function as it does with Photoshop CS5. Ie open edit then save back as another version.

Photoshop Elements Help | Using tools to make selections

I'm trying to make a straight-edged rectangular selection with the Polygonal Lasso tool and I end up with an oval. Feathering is at 0. In Refine Edge everything is set to 0, and I've played around with the View Mode and Define Radius tool, neither of which I understand, but I keep getting an oval.
How do I get straight edges which, gee, I thought this tool was supposed to do and which it's done the past 4 years I've been using it, until now. And what it does - make an oval - why would anyone want that?

Problems with Photoshop Elements 8

I need help with my software. Every time that I print a photo using Photoshop Elements 8, the photo comes out with vertical lines and the colors are awful. I need to use Windows Photo Viewer to print photos, but I do not have the options I have when using Photoshop Elements 8. I need to know what can I do to correct this problem. Problems with photoshop elements 10 and windows 8

I bought photoshop elements 10 for my wife last year for Christmas. She decided not to install it on our old computer because we knew that we were planning to replace the computer this year. We finally got around to replacing it and the new computer came with Windows 8. She installed her photoshop on it and she is having problems with it. I'm wondering if there is a compatability problem with the windows 8? Is there an update for the pse 10 that will make it work with windows 8?

Wermgr.exe and werfault.exe with photoshop elements 10

I need help getting my photoshop working again. i recently had to take a whole bunch of malware off ,my computer and now that ive done that, when i start my photshop elements 10, i get these two errors. I have googled these errors and they say to turn off windows error messager, and when i do that the problem persist. also, is there any way to download my windows version onto my wifes MAC book?

Having trouble 'replacing colour' in Photoshop Elements 12 + help does not work?

I was trying to use the 'replace colour' function as found by going :-
Enhance >
Adjust Colour >
Replace Colour
Not knowing how it worked, I tried the context sensitive help in light blue. 'Learn More About'
This would not load but gave me this response:-

This 'help' seems to work everywhere else [well at least in the places I have tried so far.]
So why is this? has anyone else had this specific area of HELP fail? I need to know is it just my system, is it accessing this HELP stuff over the net, or is it preloaded when you by the retail pack?
Course it would be in an area I can not make work!
Note Other areas of help in this general menu area work eg
i.e. the options either side of this all work fine.
Any views guidance welcome.

Thanks i think I got it working of a fashion.
Except the replace colour, does not seem to end up with the colour I picked using the picker tool. Its as though it hads not replaced the colour but blended in the desired colour with the old incorrect colour!
Buy trial and error picking not the right colour but close - which when mixed with the existing colour is close.
Sorry I can't post the pictures as the Lingerie Mfg, has me under non disclosure.
The scenario is:- say a blonded mainly tanned model a high cut [at the hips] corsette style basque, with an ultra low bra line.
Our dear model, has just come back from St Barts with a fabulous Tan, and equally striking bold Tan lines!.
So we have great tanned legs, then the 'porcelain white band' where her swimsuit was.
Likewise we have a tanned face, and arms, shoulders etc and a great tan on the top of the cleavage, then it stops, white band to the top of the ultralow cut bra line of the basque.
She must have lived in like the most conservative bikini on the planet [50's style], for 2 weeks!
Had she had a normal skimpy bikini on, no problem!
If i don't solve it, she will get fired!
Not a lack of interest in your post, but I was out, and tried to log in to this site; which I could do, on my iPad Air / 5 [whatever its the new one]. And tried to 'sign in' - but it just hung at the
"Join Adobe Community" adobe sign in splash screen! with he little whell spinning around continuously!!!
I have Safari on this iPad. Guess that is all it runs.

Photoshop Elements 8 does not open any files

Dear Community,
today I booted my adobe photoshop elements 8.0 to do some picture editing. But when I try to open a file nothing happens. And I mean nothing. Photoshop just keeps on running but it doesn nothing with the command I gave it. It doesn't show a new image, there isn't even a new file in the open files container, which normally shows you which files you have open. I've tried different images. Jpegs, pngs and I even tried a raw image to check whether the Raw converter starts, this doesn't happen eighter.
First thing I tried after that was to reset photoshop elements using ctrl-alt-shift, but that didn't help eighter.
Does anyone have any idea what I could try to fix this???
Short info on the system:
Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0 on Windows XP with all the latest updates.

Can you open a file directly from a folder by right-clicking and choosing Open With.
Then select PSE8 or navigate to the exe file.

Missing Camera Raw Dialog Box in Photoshop Elements 8 for Windows.

Hello,
I have Photoshop Elements 8 for Windows. This runs on a 32-bit Windows Vista VirtualBox virtual machine.
It has been running fine, but suddenly opening raw Nikon images no longer opens the Camera Raw Dialog box, but takes me straight into editing on Photoshop Elements.
I really like having the Camera Raw Dialog box open as I do most of my image processing using this before opening the resulting file in Elements.
Does anyone know how to get this box back, or to open it from within Elements?
I have tried opening the images from within Photoshop Elements using the "Open As..." mnu item from the File menu, and the selecting "Camera Raw" as the image type, but it still opens without the Camera Raw Dialog box.

Check your screen resolution settings for vista.
I believe the screen resolution needs to be at least 1024 x 768 for the camera raw dialog to show in pse 8.
For example, if instead of running VirtualBox full screen, your running it in windowed or seamless mode and made the window smaller by dragging on the corner, that would automatically lessen the screen resolution in vista.

How to open Raw images (NRW) from Nikon Coolpix p7800 with Photoshop elements 12?

From the page you linked to, you need ACR 8.3 to open P7800 raw files. You probably just need to update your Photoshop Elements using Help / Updates. If that doesn’t work, then at least check what version of ACR plug-in you have using Help / About Plug-in / Camera Raw in case your ACR is new enough and something else is wrong.

Photoshop Elements 12 will not launch

Hello I have windows 7. Ive recently bought pse12. I installed and created an adobe id. Day after installation I click on the icon on desktop and it loads the welcome screen. I then click photo editor. It looks like its trying to load/open, but never does. Help please.
