CAS admin password recovery

I am looking for help doing a password reset for the web admin password for a CAS server, I have the root password and can login into the CLI fine, but I can not access the web interface.

The simplest solution is to rerun 'service perfigo config' from the shell prompt. Take care not to change any settings but the admin password.

  • Cisco NCS admin password recovery.

    Hi All
In Cisco NCS shell I have incorrectly entered the following command in order to chang ethe admin password and saved it
username admin password hash <password> role admin
and hence lost the access to shell (ssh). Is there a way to retrieve or reset the admin password. Tried to log in as single user (as in any ohter Red Hat Distribution) but didn't work. In the worst case scenario I have rebuild the server (VM) from the .ova imange, however the licenses won't work.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello,
The only way to recover the admin password for NCS would be to use the recovery image (iso). The recovery image is not available for download from CCO. Please open a TAC case & they can special publish the image for you.
For the CLI admin password, the recovery method is the same as the physical appliance.  Attach the recovery ISO, and reboot the machine.  You may have to force the virtual machine to boot from the cd drive.  Once it does, you will get the  menu that contains the password recovery option.
    Hope this helps.

  • DS6, Admin password recovery

Managed to misplace our "admin" password for logging into DSCC web interface. Is there a way to recover it?
I searched the forum and someone said that it is a security violation. I understand that. But I also believe that there are legitimate reasons for password recovery. The whole process can be secured so that it is not trivial and requires certain knowledge to ensure proper use, such as physical access to the server etc.
    Thanks,

Do you have your password for cn=Directory Manager?
If so, you can bind as Directory Manager, and overwrite (reset) the userPassword attribute for any entry you like.
You can also manually edit dse.ldif to change the password for cn=admin,cn=Administrators,cn=config or cn=Directory Manager:
    - Stop your directory server.
    - Make a backup copy of your dse.ldif file.
    - Edit dse.ldif and change the userPassword attribute on cn=admin,cn=Administrators,cn=config. Or, for cn=Directory Manager, change the nsslapd-rootpw attribute. You can use cleartext for the password temporarily, but remember to change it again later via an LDAP connection, so it will be hashed.
    - Restart the server.

  • Cisco ISE 1.2 vm cli admin password recovery

I'm having trouble getting this to work.   I was under the impression by mounting the ISO (connect at power on) i could perform the password recovery like it states for the hardware appliance.  However, if i mount the 1.2.0.899 iso image (connect at power) I don't seen to get any options in my vm console?  At most, I have a <enter> at the very beginning that will take me to Grub or ADE boot menu...  but I don't see anything about options to change the password?

Make sure you are following the steps in the following link:
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/ise/1-2/installation_guide/ise_ig/ise_postins.html#38674
Also, make sure that the VM Guest is set to boot from DVD/CD first before trying the HDD.

  • DAC Admin password recovery

    Hi all,
I forgot the admin password for Dac. Can you please help me in recovering the old password. Or resetting the admin password.
I have the Dac repository credentials.
    Thanks in advance

You should just be able to configure a new authentication file (the wame wayou when you initially set up your DAC connection). The dafauilt user/pwd would be Administrator/Administrator and you can change it as needed after you log in. Here are the steps from the DAC guide.
To create a new authentication file, do the following: Click in the Authentication File field of the Configuring... dialog box. In the Authentication File dialog box, select Create authentication file. Navigate to the folder where you want to save the new authentication file, and click OK. In the Create Authentication File dialog box, enter a unique name for the authentication file, and click OK. Enter the Table Owner Name and Password for the database where the repository will reside. In the Configuring... dialog box, click Test Connection to confirm the connection works. Click Apply, and then click Finish. Note: You must distribute this authentication file to all user accounts that need to access this DAC Repository. In the Login... dialog box, do the following: Select the appropriate Connection from the drop-down list. Enter Administrator as the User Name. Enter Administr

  • Password Recovery on UC540

    Hi All
Our service provider has left and we need to make urgent changes to the UC - does anyone know the admin password recovery for the US540 ?

    Hi Nuno,
You will need CLI access to the UC540 for this. I'm assuming that it has a password, and that you don't know what it is. If you have the password, skip password recovery step.
First, to recover/set a new password, during boot you need to send a break within 60 seconds which will take you to Rommon.
At Rommon 1> type confreg 0x2142
At Rommon 2> type reset. Type no after each set up question.
When it boots, you'll want to erase cue (voicemail) first. Session into CUE with: service-module integrated-service-engine 0/0 session and hit enter twice. Type offline, then y when asked to confirm. Type restore factory default, and again y when asked to confirm, and press enter to reload. It can take 5-10 mins, and you will know its complete when it says system online.
Then to factory default the UC/CME, type exit to get out of CUE. At the prompt (which should still end in a #, if not, type enable to go from > to #) type show flash: Show more, and probably down at the bottom of the list you'll see something like UC540-xxxxxxx-k9-FACTORY-xxx-.cfg This is the factory config file (don't save to it!)  Make note of this filename, I will refer to it as (but make sure you include the name and .cfg).  Type copy flash: startup. Reboot, you should be running with a factory defaulted UC540.
    Best,
    Charles

  • How to unlock windows admin password

    Dear Support,
Please tell me how to unlock the password of administrator in windows 8.1
    Ashok Marodia
    9873506200

Method 1: Recover Windows 8.1 Administrator Password with Third-party Software
    1. Download and install Windows Password Recovery Tool Ultimate on a workable computer and launch it.
    2. Insert a blank CD/DVD or USB Flash Drive to the workable computer; choose a way to burn a password reset disk.
    3. Insert the created reset disk into the locked computer and restart the locked computer, then you need to set BIOS to boot the computer from the disk. If your computer with Windows 8.1 preinstalled uses UEFI, you should disable UEFI Secure Boot firstly.
    4. On the showed program after several steps, you can see a list of accounts, choose the administrator account and follow instructions remained.
Method 2: Recover Windows 8.1 Admin Password by Password Reset Disk Created before
    1. Sign in Windows 8.1 with a wrong password, then under the password box will appear the option of "Reset password". Click it.
    2. After that, the password reset wizard shows. Insert the password reset disk into the computer.
    3. Follow instructions on the reset wizard to change or reset your login password.
Method 3: Recover Windows 8.1 Admin Password with a Super Administrator Account
There is a built-in Administrator account in Windows 8.1 which has no password. It is different from a normal administrator account and has super privileges over other accounts. If the super account has been enabled before you lost password, you can use it
to crack Windows 8.1 administrator password or just remove it. Here are detailed steps:
Note: this method can be only used when you have enabled the super administrator account. As the built-in administrator account is usually turned off, you can go back to Windows Password Recovery Tool for Windows 8.1 admin password recovery.
    1. After you start your PC, you will see a list of accounts on the computer; choose the super administrator account to log into your computer.
    2. Now you can change or remove Windows 8.1 administrator password from "Start-> Control Panel-> User Accounts->Sign-in Options" easily.

  • After recovery, admin password filled in with "dots" and cannot delete or change it

    Hello.
I ran the Windows 7 updates yesterday, but only the necessary ones.  I did not install any of the optional ones.  After the updates completed, I turned the computer on and it was stuck in a loop cycle - starting windows, then the admin password log in box came up.  The box was fiiled in (with "dots" but too many to represent my password) and the screen just quickly flashed back & forth between the log in screen and "password incorrect".     I tried to switch user, and it flashed back to the admin log in.
I did a system recovery to factory defaults (after backing up all data)  using the recovery discs.  After recovery, the "Set a password for account" screen comes up with the box below "Type a password" filled in completely with dots.  I cannot erase them with the backspace or delete keys.  If I highlight it and then try erase it with backspace or delete, the cursor just moves to the right hand side of the password box, but it still doesn't delete the faulty password "dots" so that I can change it.
I tried to reboot by holding in the power button and then turning it back on.  After selecting country & language again, the same password screen come up.
It is stuck!  Any help would be greatly appreciated!  I computer I have  is the HP TouchSmart 310 PC 1155-Y.
    Thank You!

That is curious with a Recovery.  First, try to reset the password using NTPassword.  Make the CD, boot to it  following the directions.  If that does not solve the signon problem, consider installing the OS from a regular Windows 7 disk of the same version, using the key from the COA sticker.

  • My admin password stopped working. Can't restart in recovery and tried terminal but need more specific guidance there. Am operating macbook from external drive

My macbook pro admin password has stopped working.  Can't start it in recovery mode and am having no success with terminal command although I could do with more in depth instruction on that.  Have been operating it from an external drive (Yosemite) for 3 months after a stuck reinstall of mavericks and it was working fine till last week.  I am currently downloading another copy of Yosemite with a view to trying to install it on my internal hard drive which has been erased.  Help

    Hey JustSomeGuy,
Thanks for the response. It is the external drive that has the data I need to keep. Reboot did not do it...
What I did get done just now is going into Safe Mode and delete the problematic files there and Empty Trash. That worked - so one step closer hopefully. I did not do the .DS Store files (will do that after done writing this).
How do I do a copy with cp rather than the finder?
Repair permissions is grayed out in DiskUtil - I did do a Disk Repair in Safe Mode and that turned up without error. However, now back in normal mode - Disk Repair gives an error again saying that the drive cannot be unmounted.
Thanks for the help so far.
    Cheers

  • The "y" key is broken on my keyboard - admin password has that letter

I've tried copying and pasting the password into the admin password box but it won't allow me to do that. I am asking this on my netbook. My admin password has the letter Y in it and I can't type it in to allow the app store to do the upgrade to mavericks. I worked around the same problem with my apple ID by logging in via windows netbook and changing it.
I don't know anyone near me with a mac desktop machine... I cannot afford a new keyboard right now and it is just the Y key and the number 6 key that stopped working when water splashed on it.
Is there no way to reset the admin password? Why won't it allow me to copy and paste it? I can find the letter Y in something else and copy it but it won't allow me to paste it in that way.
Ideas? I mean... if no one knows any backdoor way of resetting the **** thing I can try posting to local groups to borrow or rent a keyboard but it seems pretty stupid. It's a common thing to end up with one key that doesn't work or the cap gets broken... and on laptops it's common to get stuff stuck under keys or to try cleaning underneath and end up with the little mechanism broken. Surely there ought to be a way to reset the admin password in this sort of case... I mean, what if you just can't remember it anyway? Is there no way to change it?
I don't even really want mavericks but it won't stop nagging me and I'm sick of it. I also can't update other software because of same issue.
    any help appreciated.

OS X Mountain Lion: Reset a login password
Scroll down to Resetting the original administrator account password. Try the procedure under reset your user password with your Apple ID.
If that does not work for whatever reason you can also use the following technique:
Restart your Mac while holding down the ⌘ and R keys at the same time until you see the OS X Recovery screen.
From the menu bar at the top, select Utilities > Terminal.
In the Terminal window type resetpassword and press Enter. A window will open behind Terminal that looks like this
Select your startup volume ("Macintosh HD" in the above screenshot), choose your user account from the dropdown selection, enter a new password, complete the password hint field, and click Save.
You may then see a confirmation dialog explaining how this change affects Keychain Access and what to do about it. Remember it or write it down, then click OK.
    Quit Reset Password
    Quit Terminal
Quit OS X Utilities and restart your Mac.
To fix your Keychain problems, go to your Utilities folder and open Keychain Access. Follow the steps here: Mac OS X: Keychain Access asks for keychain "login" after changing login password.
It will be a challenge to do anything with your Mac given an inoperative input device. Brand new USB keyboards are available for less than $10, and are often simply thrown away in the trash along with virus-ridden PCs. Any USB keyboard will work.

There is no password recovery option on the Wireless LAN Controller (WLC). You need to set the WLC to factory defaults and reconfigure it.
In order to set the WLC to factory defaults, power cycle the WLC, press ESC Key during the boot up process from the console and select last option(5) to clear the configuration and reboot the Wireless Lan Controller.
