Case insensitive search working in dev but not in prod

Hello All,
I had set the CASE_SENSITIVE_CHARACTER_COMPARISON parameter as OFF in NQSConfig.ini file for enabling the case insensitive search in OBIEE.
This setup is letting me do the case insensitive search in Dev env but the same doesnt work in prod env. I tried pointing both prod and dev rpd to same prod db.
With same db also, case insensitive search doesnt work in prod env.
Any idea for which other configuration I can look for.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks Stijin. I had seen this post earlier. Case insensitive search works fine after setting the value for NLS_SORT and NLS_COMP in production RPD but the other report with distinct clause starts failing. Not sure about the reason.
Saw this comment from you in that post:
The only compromise solution we could find was to "cache" the column value we wanted to use in insensitive searches. These were mainly used in "show all choices" while setting prompts. Other than that there isn't much you can do in an Oracle database.
Can you please tell me how to implement the above.

  • Specific extractor works in DEV but not in QUAL

    Hello Everybody
    I have new problem : I created a specific extractor ZCRM_SRV_PROCESS_I based on specific FM based on RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE.
    This extractor have to retrieve specific fields of Service Order Item (linked document type BUS2000116)
    In DEV it works fine for loading INIT & DELTA
    In QUAL, loading INIT does not work but loading works for some records...
    Loading finish with following message :

    There is no problem of authorization. In RSA3 it's ok for some records but too long for full of records.
    In fact, my FM make a first select after to be determined init or delta mode :
    IF i_updmode = 'D'.
            SELECT i~guid h~object_id h~guid h~process_type
                     INTO TABLE st_zcrmt_bw_i
                     FROM crmd_orderadm_h AS h
                     INNER JOIN crmd_orderadm_i AS i ON h~guid = i~header
                     WHERE h~object_id    IN lr_object_id
                       AND h~changed_at   >= lv_timestp
                       AND i~guid         IN lr_item_guid
                       AND ( i~product_kind <> 'X' OR  i~product_kind <> '' )
                       AND ( h~process_type = 'ZSOL'
                          OR h~process_type = 'ZSPE'
                          OR h~process_type = 'ZSVO'
                          OR h~process_type = 'ZSVT' ).
          ELSE.
            SELECT i~guid h~object_id h~guid h~process_type
                     INTO TABLE st_zcrmt_bw_i         "PACKAGE SIZE I_MAXSIZE
                     FROM crmd_orderadm_h AS h
                     INNER JOIN crmd_orderadm_i AS i ON h~guid = i~header
    *                 UP TO I_MAXSIZE ROWS
                     WHERE h~object_id    IN lr_object_id
                       AND i~guid         IN lr_item_guid
                       AND ( i~product_kind <> 'X' OR  i~product_kind <> '' )
                       AND ( h~process_type = 'ZSOL'
                          OR h~process_type = 'ZSPE'
                          OR h~process_type = 'ZSVO'
                          OR h~process_type = 'ZSVT' ).
          ENDIF.
    Then FM CRM_ORDER_READ is running for 500 records to retrieve header data :
    CALL FUNCTION 'CRM_ORDER_READ'
        EXPORTING
          iv_no_auth_check     = abap_true
          it_header_guid       = it_guids      "500 records
          it_requested_objects = lt_requested_objects
        IMPORTING
          et_orderadm_h        = lt_orderadm_h
          et_service_os        = lt_service_os.
    Then this FM is running for 10 records for item data (max 10 because FM CRM_ORDER_READ does not work for more records) :
    CALL FUNCTION 'CRM_ORDER_READ'
        EXPORTING
          iv_only_spec_items   = abap_true
          it_item_guid         = it_guids         "10 records
          it_requested_objects = lt_requested_objects
        IMPORTING
          et_orderadm_i        = lt_orderadm_i
          et_sales             = lt_sales
          et_appointment       = lt_appointment
          et_status            = lt_status
          et_text              = lt_text
          et_subject           = lt_subject
          et_doc_flow          = lt_doc_flow
          et_customer_i        = lt_customer_i
    Perhaps if I succeeded to improve SELECT & call of CRM_ORDER_READ, it would be better but I don't know how to do...

  • Search works in spotlight, but not in Mail.app

    If I type in the search box in Mail, nothing happens. The same query in Spotlight works. What can I do to fix that?
    G4   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    > I don't use the .mac address, but I guess it's a .mac account.
    Still not sure what you mean. It cannot be a .Mac account if it doesn’t have a .Mac address associated with it, and your mail cannot be stored on a .Mac server if you don’t have a .Mac account... What does Mail show in Preferences > Accounts > Account Information > Account Type?
    Anyway, I don’t know how to solve the problem in your case. When searching in Spotlight doesn’t work, the problem can be fixed by re-creating the Spotlight database. When searching in Spotlight works but Entire Message searches in Mail don’t, re-creating Mail’s index usually fixes the problem, but not always and I don’t know why.
    Try this to try to identify the problem:
    1. Open /Applications/Utilities/Console.
    2. From the File menu, choose either Open Console Log, or Open System Log, or both, so that Console displays the contents of both system.log and console.log.
    3. Reproduce the problem and look at the bottom of the Console windows for messages that might be written there as a result. They may provide some clues.
    <hr>
    You may try setting up Mail again from scratch and importing your mail back, but I don’t know whether that will work either:
    1. If you have a .Mac account and .Mac synchronization of Mail data is enabled either in Mail > Preferences > General or in System Preferences > .Mac, disable it before proceeding.
    2. Quit Mail if it’s running.
    3. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/. Move (not copy) the entire Mail folder out of there, to the Desktop.
    4. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Preferences/. Locate com.apple.mail.plist and move it to the Desktop.
    5. Open Mail and set it up again from scratch. If given the option to import existing mailboxes or something like that, don’t. Just enter the account information and check that everything works fine.
    6. You’ll have to re-configure all your settings in Mail > Preferences. For spam-related security reasons, the first thing you should do is go to Preferences > Viewing and disable Display remote images in HTML messages if it’s enabled.
    7. If Mail works fine now and you had any messages stored in local mailboxes, do File > Import Mailboxes, choose Mail for Mac OS X as the data format, and follow the instructions to import your mail from the old Mail folder that’s now on the Desktop. Import the Mailboxes folder first, then each of the POP-username@mailserver account folders.
    8. If .Mac synchronization of Mail data was enabled at the beginning, enable it again, go to System Preferences > .Mac > Advanced, click Reset Sync Data, and choose the appropriate options to reset the Mail data stored on the .Mac server with the data locally stored on the computer, i.e. sync data must flow from the computer to the .Mac server.
    As a result of doing the above, some messages may be duplicated. Andreas Amann’s Mail Scripts has a Remove Duplicates script that you may find useful.
    Do with the imported mail whatever you wish. You may move the messages anywhere you wish and get rid of the imported mailboxes afterwards.
    If all is well and you don’t miss anything, the files on the Desktop can be deleted, although you may want to keep them for a while, just in case.
    Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder. You can easily locate any of the folders referred to in this post by copying the folder path here, doing Go > Go to Folder in the Finder, and pasting the folder path there.

  • Custom bsp Iviews work in dev but not in qas?

    Hi All,
    We're using R/3 4.7, ESS 50.4, MSS 60.1.20.
    We have developed a number of custom bsp iviews that work perfectly fine in dev but when we transported to qas, no data is displayed.  The labels in the bsp are being displayed so we know that the bsp is working.
    We use epcf to listen for the employee number in the bsp's.  It is configured the same in both dev and qas but in qas the bsp is not picking up the employee number and therefore is displaying no data.  When you click on susbequest employees in the team viewer, nothing happens (bsp should reload).
    The only difference is that the portal dev and the bsp's reside on the same server but when we go to portal qas, it is now on a different server to the bsp.  We have relaxed the domain, so that the server name has been removed from the domain name but still to no avail.
    If anyone can help at all, i'd really appreciate it, as i'm at a loss as to what to do next.
    Many thanks,
    Liz.

    Hi,
    Seems that there is:
    1. something wrong with the System Object or it's definition..
    OR
    2. someone used a server/hostname as a "constant" instead of a "variable"
    OR
    3. the Portal and Backend are not in the same domain or the configuration is not with Fully Qualified Domain Name
    Hope this helps you to narrow it down or even find the issue.
    Good Luck,
    Benjamin Houttuin

  • CFDocument: works in dev but not prod?

    We are using CFMX 7,0,2,142559 Standard on W2K3 servers. In

    The code is all the same, the data is the same - I have

    put out a test file in all environments containing the following:
    <cfdocument format="pdf">

    </cfdocument>
    It Streams to the browser just fine in dev and qa, but in
    production the browser times out, and the error below is produced.
    Anyone else see this?

    Hi All,
    I have written a variable to calculate Average. It works fine for all entries in Dev. But when I transport it to Test Environment, it works fine for some entries and does not work for some entries.
    Any suggestions?

  • Search works for HTTP but not for HTTPS on site

    Hi
    Both the http & https url works and you can browse the team site just fine. Search for HTTP url works fine, but fails for the https url. You get a "Sorry something went wrong" and "Unknown error". Also get the following
    errors in ULS logs: "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" and this used to work 100% before.
    Things tried thus far include: Clearing the blobcache; clearing config cache; deleting and re-adding the alternate access mapping for HTTPS; checked certificate and bindings on all servers in the farm for site.
    2013 Farm Environment: SharePoint 2013 SP1 with 2 web frontends & 2 App servers on Server2012 using SQL2012 failover Cluster
    Any help greatly appreciated!!

  • Webi Report on BW Universe works in DEV but not properly in TEST

    Hi,
    We have created a Webi-Report on a BW Universe on our DEV server. Everything works like a charm and we are prompted as the first thing for keydate and the report is refreshed successfully. We then export the Universe (no connection overwrite) and Report to our TEST server with the Export Wizard and the problems start.
    When we refresh the report on the TEST server we are prompted for keydate. If we select a value for the date we receive an error:
    A database error occured  The database error text is: The MDX (and then some MDX) failed to execute with the error Specify a value for variable Financial Statement Version. (WIS 10901)
    If we select Use default value the report refreshes but no currency conversion is done. We can then refresh the report again and this time if we select a value for the keydate the report refreshes without the above error.
    We have tried to overwrite the connection during export from DEV to TEST so the connection points to our DEV BW Server with the same result. If we create the universe on the TEST server from scratch everything works as intended.
    If we transport the Universe and report from DEV to PROD directly the report works as intended.
    The BO user (SSO WinAd) testing this have admin rights on BO. The connection in the univers to BW is done using a fixed username and password (no SSO to BW)
    I am now out of options and would appreciate any input you might have to solve this problem.
    Best Regards,
    Lars

    Hi Wavery,
    Thanks for your reply. I have checked the connections and they are named exactly the same on DEV/TEST/PROD. I have also tried deleting the universe, connection and report on TEST and then do a new transport of all of them from DEV to TEST. Same result.
    What I don't understand is why the refresh works if I do it in two steps:
    <OL>
    <LI>
    I set keydate to "use default value" when prompted and the report will refresh without the keydate dependent calculations. None keydate dependent measures are showing correct values from BW.
    </LI>
    <LI>
    Then I refresh again and set the keydate to a date and the report refreshes with the dependent calculations.
    </LI></OL>
    This tells me the connection is working and the problem is somewhere else. At the moment I'm clueless
    Any input is highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Lars

  • Works on dev, but not production server

    I am building a site using LCCS which works on my laptop, which runs ColdFusion 9 and Apache. But it does not work on my production server, which is ColdFusion 8 and IIS. I have made the various configuration changes and I can successfully create a room via CF from the production server.
    But my Flex app does not seem to load properly on the production server. It is basically a video-conferencing app, so the swf should display the "Start My Camera" button, but it doesn't. It works perfectly on my laptop though.
    I realize I am using very different environments, but I don't know why that would affect anything for the simple Flex-generated swf, especially when I am dynamically creating the room via production.
    I am sure it is something simple, but am out of ideas. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    cheers,
    Steven

    It seems I figured out my problem (well, about this issue anyway).
    A while back, I un-installed .NET but then had to re-install it. In doing so, somehow IIS lost the ability to recognize .js files. It would return a 404 error whenever you tried to call any file with a .js extension. My hosting company did something to re-associate the file type with IIS. It seems I have the same problem with .swf files.
    fyi, I used Charles (a Firefox plugin) to diagnose this. I had assumed it was a permission issue. It never occurred to me to try to access my swf directly.

  • Web template works in Dev but not in Q

    We have a web template includes 10 queries. First I transported 10 queries from Dev to Q and we executed each one. All worked. Then I transported this template. Transport was successful but it return a error message when it gets execute for few seconds.
    One thing I don't understand is it contains many Template items but it only show part of Items when I collected. Now I am trying to collect each template items but I am unable to find missing items from Bex Web Items list. Why is that?

    Hi,
        You have to collect all the WEB items toos, it should be under the WEB ITEM  in transport connection. Try collecting them again . Hope you have transported all the dependant Query elements like variables, User exits variable code if any.
    Hope it helps,
    Cheers,

  • ECATT Script with SAPGUI Commando works in consolidation but not in prod.

    Hi experts,
    I created a eCATT script with commando SAPGUI Rec. In our consolidation system it works fine but when I try to let it run in production it is not working. User scripting is enabled (in options and in rz11). I am starting the script, the production system is getting opened but afterwards there happens nothing anymore. Also the scriptingsign in the bottom right corner is not active.
    When I am running a script with TCD Rec, it works fine in production. Is there a difference between settings for scripting for TCD Rec and SAPGUI scripting? Do you have any idea which kind of influences there could be that make this difference between TCD Rec and SAPGUI Rec scripts?
    Best regards and thank you in advance!
    Jan

    Hello,
    Ideally we should not run the ecatts in the production system as this would hamper the system environment or change systems.
    Also check in RZ11 enter sapgui/user_scripting , here the values for the last three parameters are set to TRUE.
    Thanks & Best regards,
    Ajay

  • Sql query to identify transports in dev but not in prod

  • GetOrdinal of AseDataReader Class is not doing case-insensitive search

    hi,
    I am working on 12.5.4 version of sybase ASE.I am using 'Sybase.AdoNet2.AseClient.dll' to connect with database. I am using GetOrdinal method of ASEDatareader class (that as per documentation performs a case-sensitive lookup first. If it fails , a second search that is case-insensitive occurs) but in my case it is not performing case-insensitive search. I am attaching the document for your reference.
    http://infocenter.sybase.com/help/index.jsp?topic=/com.infocenter.dc20066.1570100/doc/html/san1364409576274.html
    Thanks,
    Raman

    Hi Monica,
    Another thing you want to make sure is on your ASE that the oledb/adonet MDA scripts are up to snuff. Some of our fixes in the driver are in this.
    If you login into the ASE and get the output of sp_version.
    You should get something like this:
    OLEDB MDA Scripts
             15.7.0.1250.1013/Wed Feb 19 UTC 00:28:47 2014
    The ado.net driver and the older oledb driver use some specific MDA scripts on the ASE.
    Read the coverletter of the SDK (Software Developers Kit for ASE). It explains how to update the MDA scripts. They are on the client side $sybase\ADONET\sp.
    So where you downloaded the SDK you want to click Info then look for the README.
    This is all the SDKs:
    * Updating the metadata stored procedures required by ODBC, OLE DB and
      jConnect Drivers on Adaptive Server Enterprise
      Certain new features and bug fixes in ODBC, OLE DB and jConnect drivers
      require you to modify the metadata stored procedures in Adaptive Server.
      These stored procedures may not be up-to-date on your host ASE server due
      to various reasons.
      If the metadata stored procedures are outdated, you may not be able to use
      some of the fixes that are implemented in this SP/ESD, so you will need to
      manually install the updated metadata stored procedures.
      To update the metadata stored procedures in Adaptive Server, first determine
      the version of the meta-data scripts installed on the ASE. To do so, execute
      the following command:
      sp_version
      go
      The version number of the ODBC, OLE DB and jConnect meta-data scripts will
      be displayed.
      Review the version number column and compare it against the version of the
      driver being used.
      If the metadata scripts are outdated, the version installed will be older
      than the driver build number or you will encounter one of the following:
      - stored procedure sp_version is not found
      - the stored procedure output does not print a row for the driver
      The updated scripts are included with the drivers and can be installed as
      follows:
      For ODBC & OLE DB:
      - Go the "sp" directory under the ODBC/OLE DB installation directory
      - Execute the install_odbc_sprocs script for the ODBC Driver and
      install_oledb_sprocs script for OLE DB Provider.
      Syntax for using the script is:
            install_[odbc/olebd]_sprocs <ServerName> <username> [<password>]
             where <ServerName> is the name of the Adaptive Server
                 <username> is the username to connect to the server
                 [<password>] is the password the username
                 (don’t supply this for null password)
      For jConnect:
      - Go to the "sp" directory under the jConnect installation directory. Based
      on your host ASE server version, choose the appropriate SQL script.
      - Use isql or another tool of your choice to execute the selected script.
      This will install the current meta-data stored procedures.
    Thanks,
    Dawn

  • Mixed case name search in Unload Wizard is not working (EA3 - 3rd beta)

    I believe the mixed case name search in Unload Wizard is not working (EA3 - 3rd beta)
    I have bunch of triggers (and other db objects as well) with mixed case names such as zMY_TRIGGERu and can not find those triggers in the "Lookup" during the Unload Wizard (Tools menu --> Database Unload option).
    I also found out that the search is limited to 500 objects and if you have more than 500 constraints for example only 500 of them are displayed by the "Lookup"
    - is there any configuration/setting parameter (which I already checked the Preferences for DDL/Unload option and didn't see anything) for eliminating the 500 limit ? is it hard coded ?
    - any trick to do the mixed case search in the Unload Wizard ? (I tried using "z"%"u" but that did not help - I used "z"% and also "z" and checked the % check box, ...)
    Edited by: zaferaktan on Jan 25, 2011 5:06 PM

    Thank you Joyce
    I have already tried to apply a filter at the object navigator. It works with Triggers, tables, etc but NOT with the packages.
    You can not unload both the package and the package body for "multiple" packages (you can use save package and package body option for a single package) from the Navigator.
    Unfortunately, currently the only way in SqlDeveloper (3-EA3) to unload the package and the package body of multiple packages is to use the "Database Unload" menu option.
    Therefore, for unloading more than one package/package body - the filter option you suggested won't work (and is not working).
    I hope this will be fixed soon before version 3 released officially.

  • Case-Insensitive Searching on Content Server

    Hello everyone,
    I have a Content Server 10gr3 using an Oracle 11g DB. All of my searches are case sensitive, but we need case-insensitive searching. I've tried changing the DatabasePreserveCase variable in the config.cfg to 1, 0, true, and false, rebuilt the indexes in between each reboot (not sure if that's necessary or not), tried checking in new documents after making the changes and searching for those, but no matter, searches stay case sensitive.
    We have another UCM install running on a 10.2.0.3.0 DB, and case insensitivity works on that Content Server with DatabasePreserveCase=1.
    What could we be doing wrong? I've found several documents which have stated that case-insensitivity is impossible with an Oracle DB, but I think those are all old and from before Oracle's acquisition of the product (and obviously it is possible, since we have another install with it working).
    Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

    I'm not quite sure what you mean by Search Engine... we simply installed the Oracle 11g Database, then installed Content Server and configured it to run using that database. We haven't done anything with full-text search.
    Edit: Do you mean the SearchIndexerEngineName value in the config file? It's DATABASE.METADATA, though at some point we also need to get full-text up and running which to my understanding requires it to be DATABASE.FULLTEXT.
    As to the OracleCaseInsensitiveSearch component, where can I find it? Google shows up nothing, and MetaLink has one page saying that it exists but nothing more...
