CC 2014 not displaying waveforms on timeline or viewer

Having reluctantly upgraded to PP CC 2014 I am noticing that the waveforms of .R3D files do not display properly in the timeline or the viewer. Sometimes the waveforms are displayed correctly, sometimes not. There is inconsistency even within the same timeline.
Is there a new setting that needs to be enabled here or is this another one of those dreadful Adobe bugs we're getting so used to?
Running on Mac Pro 2013 - 2.7 GHz 12-core 64 GB RAM OSX 10.9.4

Did you import via the Media Browser or File > Import? Try the Media Browser.

Hi,
in month view, iCal displays ... to show that some items are not displayed. However, this happens many times when there is ample space to display the item, and even happens when there is only one item!
Does anybody know how to force iCal to show as many as possible items?

Site not displaying correctly in DW Design View

This is a weird display problem on one of my sites that I
have not seen before.
I sometimes log into my server remotely and make changes to
the html manually then resave the files. Later I may download the
newly edited files and put them in my backup site folder on my
local machine.
On one particular site, everything looks fine online from my
server, but when looking at the files locally in DW Design view
everything is out of whack. The images are all over the place and
the backgrounds are completely missing. If I preview the it still
looks normal and all the images are in the correct place and
backgrounds are fine. Only displays wrong in DW Design View which
makes it impossible to use the WYSIWYG to edit this site now.
Anyone encountered anything like this?

You are editing the files directly on the server, and not
from a local site?
And which DW are you using?

Metadata not displaying properly in movie list view 12.1.0.50

Has anyone had issues with metadata not displaying properly in iTunes iTunes 12.1.0.50?
Seems since the last update or maybe even before that the metadata is not displaying properly in the movies/list view window. All seems fine in the movies window with the display, nice art work along with all the metadata which I've been adding with the Subler app. Been using this app a long time and it has always been fine.
As can be seen in the attached screen shot, the titles of the lower entries are missing and the director information shows where the artists should be.
When I got to get info everything is as it should be. Any solutions out there?

I had been experiencing this very same problem, and it drove me crazy. Luckily, after searching for the answer on multiple forums, I found a solution. MetaX is a program designed specifically for tagging iTunes movies. Not only can you manually input all the required information, but you can also automatically input all the information from outside sources from within the program. It worked beautifully for me with my copy of Donnie Darko, which I ripped using HandBrake.

Preview and Generate view not displaying the same as design view

I have a topic that will not generate or preview what is displayed in the design view.
The topic is a table that uses a different image as the background for each cell (from the CSS).
The background images display fine in design view but will not display when previewed or generated. Everything else is displayed but not the backgrounds.
Any ideas.

Text captions are not displayed as per timeline settings after publishing.

I am using Adobe Captivate 4. I have provided different start times in timeline settings for 4 text captions. When i preview my slide, it displays well. But when i publish it and try to view it, it is only dsiplaying the first text caption and the other text captions are not at all displayed.
Request to help in this regard.

Yeah..you are correct...I do have buttons in my slide.
When i adjusted the start time for my buttons after my text captions....it perfectly works fine...

Premeire CC 2014 not playing clips or timeline with New Mac Pro Late 2013 D700

I have used premeire cs5 and cs6 and never had this issue
I just bought a new mac pro and installed the trial of Premeire cc 2014
I import clips like normal, set my sequence and the play button does not work
in the viewer or in the timeline. Can seem to make anything work
also I am on 10.9.5 which from what I can see should be fine.

Try this: create a new user with Admin privileges and see if you can get Premiere Pro to playback video once more.

Sb not displaying waveforms when dynamic linked to PR...

I posted this in Soundbooth, but it seems appropriate here as well. Hopefully there's an easy answer:
I have the following programs open - Premiere Pro CS4, Adobe Bridge CS4 & Soundbooth CS4.
I create a new multitrack file in Sb. Click File\Adobe Dynamic Link\Import Premiere Pro Sequence and select the Project and Sequence. Click OK and the Video Track appears with the project name & (reference). There are thumbnails of the video images from the Pr timeline and a wide green band but no audio waveforms. No other audio tracks contain anything at all.
The video track will play with audio and the meters indicate stereo audio but there is no audio visible anywhere.
Workspace is "Edit Audio to Video," and Properties show the proper sample rate. All sample rates are the same throughout the timeline.
One anomaly is that the Properties "Last Modified" entry is wrong as it shows today's date but about 4 hours later than the actual system clock.
I guess I was under the impression that this workflow would enable me to open my 9 tracks of audio to do sweetening in Sb and that that work would be reflected in my timeline in Pr through the Dynamic Linking.
How is this supposed to work? The documentation is less than useful in both Sb & Pr. There are implications, but no real information on what's what.
Anyone doing this, and, if so, how???

I'm really confused with the whole multitrack thing in Soundbooth. Seems all it is good for is combining multiple files that you can change over again. I don't see how this is useful at all when editing with an NLE. Once the tracks are in there they are stuck and can't be movied if you tweak any tracks.
Like you I don't understand the point of the new soundbooth multitrack file at all. Seems like they stuck it in so that there would be a new feature for CS4.
If you could open an OMF exported by premiere and work like that dynamic linked that would be great. Maybe someone can suprise us with an actual real world use.
Since the update I use Audition anyway. Awesome music app.

Captivate 7 Smart Shapes not displaying according to timeline duration

If a put per say an arrow set for 2 seconds, the arrow will display throughout the slide and not disappear after 2 seconds. I really need to resolve this issue asap. I have the same issue in V6 and V7.

HTML5 output will work for PPTX files with High Fidelity checked in PowerPoint Import dialog while importing on Windows.
It will not work for PPT file as mentioned in your post. You can save your PPT as PPTX if that is the case.

Final Cut Express 4 - Can not display CANVAS or TIMELINE

In just one of my projects the Canvas and Timeline doesn't appear.
Window>Arrange>Standard does not affect this. Selections for Canvas and Timeline are all grey'd out. My Browser window shows the tabs for my sequence and Effects tab. Clicking or double clicking this doesn't help.
Think I must have used some combination of keys to get in this spot. Other projects are not affected. Is there a set of keys that I need to use.

I am presently doing a 'render all' that will take 45 minutes. I thought more of what you said. Since I have not worked on this project in 6 months. (Somewhere along the line I decided to do an iDVD Archive and had deleted the original FCE project. I did have the ability to rebuild everything until I discovered that I had lost my TimeLine and Canvas.
I thought this was because I had hit some function key by mistake and therefore Timeline and Canvas were lost. In rebuilding, tonight, from an Document>Final Cut Documents> Autosave I was able to go to one of these version. Almost all the input, photos, video clips from old clips, iTunes, etc came back as "not connected" I deleted all those "bins" and File>Import>folder to those items. It turns out my Sequence was under a BIN and when I deleted that bin by TimeLine and Canvas disappeared.
Now I have renamed the BIN so as to contain the Sequence 1, for the project.
It turned out so far to be quite painless. Did learn the importance of the Sequence and its relationship to TimeLine and Canvas. Although I must admit I don't understand that relationship?
Rendering now says 2 hours for completion. It is almost enough to think about investing the grand to go to Final Cut Pro (not something I can convince my wife as she thinks I spend far too much time on this stuff.
Again, thank you for jogging my memory to think about previous versions such as the remark to use the AutoSave feature of FCE. As a side note I set that to every 15 minutes just a few days ago. I often get sidetracked and forget what I am doing and need the extra protection of what FCE does for me without me thinking about it.
I will leave this open until I know the above procedures worked. Still doesn't explain deleting a Sequence deletes the Timeline and Canvas. Any explanation on that? Thank you so much - now I will be able to sleep without worrying about this.

ICal not displaying all events in Month view, leaving unused blank space

I think this is a bug or bad programming of iCal:
In the month view, I have for example a day with 5 or 6 events. When I change the size of the global iCal window, the size of each day is of course changing, displaying more or less of the events on that day; and displaying "..." when additional events exist but can not be shown. This is all fine... and normal...
However, I noticed that iCal is simply not making use of the whole space: when my day is bog enough to display all events, iCal is still only displaying half of them, and the "...".
This is really a pity as the white space is there.
Anybody observed the same behavior?

Server Side Includes not displaying in DW CS3 design view

I have this code in my page (see below):
When I open the file in Dreamweaver MX 2004 in design view,
the page displays correctly. That is, I see the correct styles from
the style sheet contained in Head_Standard.html and the logo/menu
in Logo_TopMenu.html
When I open the page in DW CS3, I do not see the effects of
the style sheet and I do not see the logo/menu.
However, when I change the code for the first include from:
virtual="/ServerSide
to
virtual="
../../ServerSide
then the page renders correctly in Dreamweaver CS3.
My first reaction was: what?! And my question is: how do I
use a root reference inside the head and get it to display properly
in DW CS 3?

../../ServerSide... works
So, a relative reference works and a reference to the root
does not. I have over 20 websites with root references and I need
this to work in DW9.

Itunes does not display asrtist name in album view on remote

When viewing my music on my IPad using remote app in album view it no longer displays the artist's name un the album title, when using an older version of ITunes V 11.4.0.18 it was displayed.
Mini mac(2013) running Mavericks Ipad Air running ios 8.1 latest version if ITunes.
When I boot up my old PC using iTunes v11.4.0.8 and connect my pad to it the artist's name is displayed un the album name.
Does anyone know how to get the latest version of ITunes to do what v11xxxx did.

Thanks for info Stefan. I have gone back to using my music on my old PC on which ITunes was not updated (nor will it) . This gives me the functunality I need and will wait and see if Apple put out a patch to fix the artist display issue.
As an aside I have found an app for my old Motorola phone called Retune which very good, it does everything that Remote does and more.. It is a shame that my crappy old phone has a better music system than my expensive IPad.

Why is the character style for hyperlinks not displaying correctly in design mode/viewing/output?

I am using RH9 and generating WebHelp, and I needed to globally bump up the font size of just my hyperlinked text. I went into my Style Sheet > Character tab, changed the font size of the various character settings for hyperlinks, and clicked Apply and then OK. Normally, this would change all of my hyperlink text font sizes immediately across all of my topics. However, this time, it made no changes to any existing hyperlinked text, and it only affected new hyperlinks that I subsequently added. For the existing hyperlinks, I can only manually change the font size of the each hyperlink one at a time, but that's crazy (there's 100's in this help).
I can successfully change other characters styles and paragraph styles. This issue only affects the hyperlink character styles. It also shows up in all RH modes - Design mode, viewing, and in the final output.
Is this an indication of a corrupted style sheet or some other combination of events that I have yet to discover?

You probably have inline styling in your project overwriting the font size of your style sheet. How are you changing the font size of the individual hyperlinks?
There is a workaround for inline styling: Open your CSS in notepad and add !important after the font-size:
font-size: 4pt !important;
Note that this is a workaround, not a solution. As a solutions you can remove all the style attributes from your hyperlinks to force them to take the CSS styling again.

Dreamweaver CS5.5 not displaying fonts correctly in live view

I've integrated some web fonts into my website, which display properly in every browser on my computer (and more importantly) on on other computers properly; strangely enough, Dreamweaver CS5.5's live view doesn't display them as they should be displayed. The font Raleway is displayed as Times New Roman, and League Gothic as Helvetica. Stranger still, Ubuntu, which I use for my <body> element in general, works fine in all weights and styles. Any advice on how to get the other fonts to work properly?
