CC app ignores preferences, but...

I found this problem just when starting to trial some CC products, but I think it would be the same case if I was already signed for them. Here are the details that I think contribute to the problem.
I am Spanish, living in UK, working with Windows 7 64 in English, my CC account was made from UK, but I changed language preferences to Spanish, and the issue can be reproduced as follows:
1. In a computer with not adobe products installed, get into your CC account and select one product to trial from CC website.
2. It first installs CC app and then you change preferences to Spanish and a different folder than default.
3. Installation process starts, it never asks anything and finally you get that program in English and in the default folder, which obviously was not intended.
4. Uninstall and clean the computer again with Adobe special tool (AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool.exe) for not leaving any trace of previous Adobe products installations.
5. Download from a parallel site a multilingual package of the program you are interested. During the installation you can change Language and destination folder and select trial. It will install correctly as per your preferences.
6. Run the program, it will launch the CC app, now you are offered an update, do it, and voila, it is correctly installed in Spanish and the folder of your choice.
7. Now you can select a second program to trial in CC app. It will installs too in Spanish and the folder of your choice.
So in order to get things correctly installed as per your preferences, firstly you must avoid to go into CC web site or CC app as it will do wrong. (????)

    1) ensure iTunes is authorized for your iTunes store account(s)
    2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
    3) sync the device
    iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.

    To change to manually managing an iPod you don't "unselect" sync music, you "select" manually manage songs and videos. If you want to delete songs from iTunes and keep them on the iPod you need to change the update option of your iPod by checking the box beside "manually manage songs and videos" in the Summary tab and clicking Apply. Your iPod will not sync with iTunes in this mode so it can have different content, you can get details here:

    One major word of caution. If you delete songs or videos from your computer and have no back up other than the iPod you will risk losing them permanently if your iPod fails or you find you have to restore it to solve a problem. You should consider investing in an additional internal or external hard drive to store/back up your music. Alternatively at the very least back up anything you can't replace such as iTunes downloads to CD or DVD: How to back up your media in iTunes
    Something else to be aware of when using an iPod in manual mode is that the "Do Not Disconnect" message will remain on the display until you physically eject the device. In that case use Safely Remove Hardware icon in the Windows system tray on your desktop or check this link: Safely Disconnect IPod
    I don't have any TV shows so I can't speak from experience here but looking at the TV tab it appears you can only sync shows, there's no manually manage option. Syncing would require that you keep the shows on your computer otherwise they would be removed from the iPod the next time you syncronised with iTunes.

    The single download means that you won't be able to redownload it from the store without paying, either on a computer's iTunes or an iOS device - it doesn't stop you from copying the audiobook to your other computers or syncing it to your iOS devices, you just can't redownload it. (I believe that they are all supplied to Apple by audible.com, so I assume that it's them requiring the one-time download.)
    You can download audiobooks on your computer's iTunes and sync them to iOS devices, you do not have to buy them directly on the device (if you do then you can copy them back to your computer's iTunes library by connecting the device and using the File > Devices > Transfer Purchases menu option on your computer's iTunes).
    What you are doing to sync them should work i.e.
    - connecting the iPad to your Mac
    - selecting the iPad on your Mac's iTunes
    - selecting its Books tab and selecting the audiobooks that you want to sync to the iPad and syncing/applying that selection.
    You should then get an audiobooks option in the Music app on your iPad. If they aren't appearing there  then do they show in Settings > General > Usage > Music on the device - if you have audiobooks on the iPad then they should be listed there under an 'audiobooks' heading.
    By 'restart the iPad' do you mean a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
    You could also try closing its Music app via the iPad's taskbar : Force an app to close in iOS.
    And do a soft-reset and retry syncing.
    I assume that music and other items sync ok ?

    Thanks for your reply. Realtek audio works only in playback. There is a stereo mix in the mixer but the recording controls are not operable with no sliders in the mixer for any recording option. Slider controls appear to be grayed out. Can't figure out how to enable them. Downloaded newest drivers to no avail.
    The M Audio control panel has no apparent option for recording stereo mix. Adobe ignores the sound from the DVD or CD and shows flatline.
    I'm trying to record the sound from the DVD not rip the track.
    When I go to Audio Driver Setup and select Audition 3.0 windows sound, there is no input device installed.
    I'm thinking of going back to a decent internal Soundblaster card like I have on my 8 year old machine I am replacing.

    ( I search for iChat questions when I have finished in the iChat Forum)
    So the menu bar reads iChat, File,  Edit,  View, Buddies, Video, Window and Help
    There is no Buddy List open.
    There is no other window for iChat open.
    In the iChat Menu you only have access to Status.
    Is an item ticked in the list ?
    Is this a green (Available item) or  Red ( an Away one) ?
    Can you access the Accounts option ?  (Sitll in the iChat Menu)
    Is anything in here ticked ?
    In the Window menu any Logged in account should appear in the list  (Between the Next Chat and File Transfer items)
    It would be useful to know which version of iChat this is.
    If no account is ticked (iChat Menu > Accounts) or not showing in the Window Menu, plus you cannot determine the Status and you cannot access the Preferences then you need to access your Home Folder/Library/Preferences
    As the Library in the Home Holder is Invisible in Lion you will need the Finder's Go Menu > Go to Folder option  (you can use it in earlier OS versions if you want)
    Type in:-
    ~/Library/Preferences
    Find the file called com.apple.ichat.plist
    Drag it to the Trash and Restart iChat.
    This will lose all the settings in iChat that you have changed from Defaults but there is no way around this.

    Select  ▹ System Preferences ▹ Network ▹ Advanced ▹ Proxies. If any proxies are selected, deselect them, apply your changes, and try again. You must apply the changes before they take effect. You don’t need to change the other settings.

    See if anything here helps.
    If the downloads are stalled or "waiting" - try these suggestions.
    Tap the "waiting" icon and see if you can pause it. If it does pause, then tap it again and see if it will resume. If that works, repeat the same steps for each "waiting" icon.
    Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
    If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.

    You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
    If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
    First, when you are going to turn off or restart your Mac, you will see a box called "Reopen windows when logging back in" in the shutdown or restart window. Untick this box and see if the App Store opens automatically in the next startup.
    If it starts, open System Preferences > Users and Groups > Login Items, and see if the App Store shows up. If so, remove it from this list

    Try this - sign out of your Apple ID and reboot the iPad, then try all over again.
    Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out.

    After the iPad starts up, go back to the settings for Messages and FaceTime and your Apple ID, and sign into all three again.

    This can happen from time to time. Something is clogging the download queue on your iPad. See if one of these suggestions helps you get this sorted out.

    Try rebooting your iPad and see if they reappear.

    If they still do not show up, make sure hat you don't have content restrictions set that could prevent certain apps from showing up on your iPad. Settings>General>RestrictionsAllowed Content.
    if you still don't see them, connect your iPad to iTunes on your computer and you should see them in the iPad mini screens on the right side of iTunes after the iPad has been selected under "devices" and when you are in the apps pane of iTunes.

  • Boyfriend has app on ipad but i cannot find it ANYWHERE

    Okay so he has this app on his ipad that i can not find anywhere on the app store. When it shows on the home screen, it has some of the name cut out so it says "MagicT...ravity" and it has a icon of a xray type pic of a hand. Going into the app it has calm music playing and you use your finger to create patterns with the wavy spark type things. There's no settings for it or anything. Its driving me crazy. Theres also no history of him downloading it in the app store, we've tried searching everywhere. The app is installed, but no info about it...if i could post the pics and video i have of it, it would be easier for you to know.
    Does anyone have any ideas or have seen it/downloaded it?

    Apps get pulled from the app store all the time. Even Disney removes apps, and you can have an app on your iPad that doesn't exist in the app store.
    Try for a full name, go into the settings and usage and tell your ipad that you want to see all, which should list all the apps and how much room they take up. That might get you a full name that you can then google and see what you can find out about it.
