CC panning issues

CC 7.2.1

If I pan a track off centre a bit to the left it plays fine untill I stop the playback. When I restart the track is panned 100% left, same if I pan right. I have to pan back through zero for the pan knob to take control again. This is with the automation off or in read and is with standard tracks. I have not had this with CS6 but it may have been there with earlier CC versions.
I should add that the amount of 'pan' shown on the track mixer is correct it is the signal going to the main ops that is wrong.

I started a new project with a mono wav file, no video, made a sequence from it, still the same result both with and without GPU mercury pb. Added bars for the video still the same result at any playback resolution.

  • Mouse panning issues in Flipview

    Hi,
I have a problem in mouse panning issues in WinJS Flipview control.
    Here is my sample:
    https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=533F417A2E04AEC4!1009
My problem is: I can zoom images in flipview and panning, zooming or scrolling them via finger touch.
So, is there a simple way to enable mouse panning, scrolling?
I think it is useless to zoom if the user cannot drag image by mouse if there is no touch device.
    Thanks so much.
    Nick

I think adding MSGesture is a fine idea. What you're experiencing here is just a difference in the native workings of touch and mouse, so you have to manually compensate for these differences.
Because panning and pinch/zoom in touch mode give you behaviors that are not directly translatable to mouse actions, the mouse does not interpret similar actions unless you ask it do.
Panning with a finger is the most natural thing to expect for touchmode, but it does not directly translate into click and drag, and for that reason, mouse does not pan.  However, you can just add the event so that you get the same behavior.  It's
extra work, but you have to take into account that not all developers want the same behavior.  For example, I expect that someone will say "I don't want to pan when I touch the screen, I want to draw a line, like I can with a mouse.  How do
    I disable this behavior?"
I hope this clears things up for you.

  • Panning issues and seemingly random loss of all audio. ***.

i've been using logic for a few years now, and i just created a new project exactly as i've done about 30+ times.... only for some reason none of the pan settings on the individual tracks are working.  the pan dial looks just like it normally does, except everything is mono, straight down the gorramn middle.  the one track that will allow panning is the output 1-2 track (and probably the master, although i didn't really mess with that one), but i don't think that having the entire audio field set slightly to the side will make this sound very great.
also, i'm losing all audio for what seems an awful lot like no reason at all.  i press play and i can see everything moving as it should. each channel is doing it's thing and seems to be receiving, processing, and sending a signal, but i'm getting nothing in the headset.  i had to restart logic to regain audio.
i appreciate any and all help, and i realize that the fault probably lies in my court as usual.
    thanks

@pancenter - nope. that is still checked.
@chorleyman - out 1-2 is still in stereo, and now i've switched all the individual tracks to stereo just to be sure, but it doesn't seem to be helping.  let me describe my project a bit more.... i've got six guitar tracks, and all of them being bused to an aux.  that aux won't pan either, although if i hard pan it L or R and then hard pan an individual guitar track in the opposite direction, i hear nothing from that track.
i've got one vox track bused to another aux. same story there.
and i've also got two software instruments (a kick and a snare) that go straight to out1-2, and those won't pan either.
let's see... other equipment... not a very extensive list.  for recording i used a usb guitar cable which i don't have plugged in for the mixdown, although the panning issues began before i unplugged that.
other than that i have some headphones plugged into the headphone jack on the mac.
regarding the loss of audio, i've gotten this message a few times, although it didn't pop up the first couple times i lost audio so i'm not sure the answer lies here:
Error while trying to synchronize Audio and MIDI.
    Sample Rate 42098 recognized.
Check conflict between Logic Express and external device.
thanks to both of you for responding!

  • Preview Pane issue for Microsoft Word 2010

This issue came up from our customer. Please find the details below.
    OS : Windows 7 Enterprise SP1
    Microsoft office professional Plus 2010
Issue : When previewing files in Windows explorer, the "Down Arrow" key, when pressed, navigates from one file to another (expected behavior). In between, if we have a Word file of multiple pages, the key stroke is shifted to Preview pane. The
pages in the word file (@ preview pane) starts scrolling down.
This is not the case, when you have Microsoft word running at the background. When I tried the same, after opening Microsoft word, the "Down Arrow" key navigates from one word file to another (as expected).
Why is this happening? Kindly suggest.

  • Scroll pane issues

I hope someone can help. I have designed a site and on
certain pages there are scroll panes with jpgs. When I preview the
movie on my computer everything seems to work fine. When I upload
it to the server and look at the page the content that is supposed
to be in the scroll pane is all out of whack. Then I reload the
page and everything is fine. This only happens in Internet
Explorer. It works fine in Firefox. Please look at the site
    www.gastropod.ca/new site/index2.html
This is occurring mostly in the food menu and drink menu.
Any help would be wickedly appreciated!!!!
    Thanks in advance.
    Ryan

@sjmphoto0300: I have a Dell XPS 15 502X laptop (running Win 7 Home) and had the same scrolling issue as you in LR 3.6 when in the Library module only (the Develop module sidebar scrolling works fine). I could not scroll using my touchpad on the left or right pane unless my cursor was directly over either thin grey scroll bar or on the actual sidebar headings (e.g. "Catalog," "Folders," or "Quick Develop"). Mousing over the latter would only enable me to scroll until the cursor was no longer over the heading which was pretty useless.
I have Synaptics TouchPad v7.4 installed. While I don't have an option in my Mouse properties to specify certain programs that don't scroll properly as mentioned in another post, I did find a solution that works for me!
I had to do TWO things to get scrolling in the sidebars working properly:
    1) In this thread (http://forums.adobe.com/message/3888114#3888114) it was mentioned that the Synaptics scrolling graphic that appears (see screenshot below) interferes with scrolling and the scrolling graphic can be disabled with a registry tweak and then restart the Synaptics applications (2) or reboot.
    2) Right-click an empty spot on the desktop and go to Personalize > Change Mouse Pointers > Device Settings (Synaptics logo on tab) > Settings. Click on Scrolling on the left of the Synaptics Properties window > Scroll item under pointer. Click Enable.
That got sidebar scrolling working without having to keep the cursor hovering above the skinny scrollbars. It seems like the Synaptics software doesn't recognize what area is always scrollable in Lightroom when "Scroll selected item" is selected.
Hope this helps someone else out there.

  • Desktop Picture Preference Pane issue

Strange, newish issue: in dektop pictures preference pane, when I choose a photo from "photos" as my background, it always sets a plain blue background. Any other picture from any of the other folders works fine. All my photos appear in the pane as choices but no matter which I select-- only plain blue is set as the background.
All my photos-- iPhoto or otherwise are on my non-boot internal drive, but this should make no difference. Iphoto '08, btw.
    G5 Dual 2.0G, OS 10.4.11
    Hints?
    Thx. --Scott

In finder, select Go menu>Go to Folder, and go to "/volumes".
Volumes is where an alias to your hard drive ("/" at boot) is placed at startup, and where all the "mount points" for auxiliary drives are created for you to access them. This folder is normally hidden from view.
Drives with an extra 1 on the end have a side-effect of mounting a drive with the same name as the system already think exists. Consider trashing the duplicates with a 1, and reboot.

  • Accidentally deleted only User in Directory Utility while trying to resolve "No preference pane" issue.

I have made a bit of, as far as I can tell at this point, a large mistake. After installing Mountain Lion from Snow Leopard, I encountered an issue where I couldn't load the Users preference pane. I attempted to resolve this with the instructions found here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4270303?start=0&tstart=0. Instead of deleting the JPEGPhoto, I used the wrong "-" button and deleted the whole user, that is the user from the lefthand pane. That user was also my administrator user, as well as only user on this computer. Now I can't go into anything really that requires Authentication, as that account and password no longer exist, and I can't reach Users and Group preferences because of the initial issue. I should also mention that I am abroad in countries without Apple Stores, so bringing my MacBook in is not an option, nor is re-installing Mac OS X as I do not have the disk and ML is downloaded from the App Store, which I now can't log into and see my purchases... How can I create an account that acts as an administrator? I'm afraid to log off or restart in the event that I can't log in into anything. Also, the user's home directory is still there, so I still have my stuff, but if I restart or anything will it be gone?

If you followed the instructions, you have a backup and you know how to restore from it. Do that.

  • Preview Pane issues

Preview pane out of sych, showing small scrambled images.
Downloaded the latest update to Aperture 3 lastnight and now when I'm in preview view with filmstrip below I get (sometimes) scrambled small images as the preview....
    Anyone have this issue?
    GJM

I've been having the same apparent problem ever since upgrading to Aperture 3 and converting my version 2 library. The film strip shows the correct picture (usually), but the viewer image is sometimes a completely different image, sometimes a mixture of two or more other images, and sometimes just a scrambled mess. If I select two or more pictures at the same time, the "bad" ones will flash the correct image in the viewer pane, then usually go to plain gray (same as the background). I just tried using the Loupe on a "bad" image and it has no effect. I can run it across images in the filmstrip and it magnifies the "good" ones and has no effect on the "bad" ones. Another observation that I just made is that all of the "bad" ones (in a limited sample) have keyword associated with them, while the "good" ones do not.
I can export a "bad" image and open it in any other application and it looks correct, so it appears to me that the problem is somewhere in the Aperture database connections.
GJM - did you ever find out how to upload a screen shot of the problem?

  • Audio pan issue?

This clip was recorded with one lav mic on the dance floor and one backup camera mic. So I've got them as a stereo pair for lack of a better plan. At one point, the audio drops out of the right side but I don't see it in the viewer pan settings. It fades back in shortly but the dropout is noticeable. I do see the waveform in the top clip, just a little smaller. Tried losing that side and making a stereo pair, but that would be a nightmare for this clip since I have a ton of tiny little audio clips from where the video was cut up, and I would have to go in and do join through edit on each one. Any idea what might be causing this issue? It could be the actual audio, but I don't think I did anything that would cause that. I'll check the source clip and see if the problem is there. maybe something weirded out when I was cutting up the video.

If it's in the waveform, it's in the media. Why would you have to go in and join a bunch of 'through edits.' If you have a lot of them then you can just overwrite the original piece of media (audio only if that's where the edits are). You can also single click a through edit and hit delete. Quicker than right click. <<<</div>
Yes that's right. I should have thought of that. Man! I think I've been staring at this #$%& project too long.
Thanks for the click and delete tip too.

  • Left/Right Panning issues with 1616m and Cubase 4

I've just installed the 1616m into my system and I'm having a serious issue with panning in Cubase. Everything I pan to the right is inaudible. If I pan hard left I get sound out of my left monitor as you'd expect. If I pan center, I hear sound out both the left and right monitor but at half the volume. If I pan right everything is completely inaudible. I have tried removing and installing the drivers. I've tried every combination of VST Connections I can think of and this problem persists. Does anyone have any suggestions? Notably this only happens in Cubase. Outside of Cubase all the audio works just fine. I have my monitors plugged into the Dock 1 outputs.

Ok I got this working but I'm not sure how. I wiped out the Patch DSP mixer strips, redid them all then redid all my VST Connections in Cubase and now it magically works. Looking at it I don't see any difference from how it was before, but its working now so I'm just going to leave it alone!

  • Panning issues; LP7

As soon as I send audio to a buss object, I lose panning position. Why?, and how to correct this issue.
    Boe

and the output from the bus? is that stereo?
what sort of tests have you done to see if you can reectify or define the problem?
eg, have you tried assigning a different bus? have you tried panning the bus? have you analyzed the signal with one of the plug-in meters? how are you outputting the signal;? is it to a desk or is it direct out to your monitors? have tried this in a different song?
can you give us a bit of a run down of what you have tried to do to trouble-shoot this, because what you are describing is not normal.

  • Panning issues.. Left  works fine, Right all the way the track silenced

I have a panning problem. I'm fairly new to Logic Studio. I started with 8 and upgraded to 9. Just recently I've noticed that if I pan left everything works fine. If I pan to the right all the way the track becomes silenced. I have recorded a lot of music and hadn't noticed this problem until now. I saw something about project panning rules. Can anyone help me out with this?

It will be nice if you can provide a download link of this song project ( with out no audio stuff ), so we can test if it is a software issue or not...

  • JTABBED PANE ISSUE

    Hi,
i have a JTabbedPane with 8 tabs displaying 8 different panels. on one tab, a calendar view is provided with the option to select date range. each day is represented by a button with a small image.if there is some event on one particular day for a given entry that button is highlighted with a colored image.my problem is tha t if we select a longer date range ie a period of 10 years , the calendar view is shown. but if we switch tabs, it will take some time to display the tab with calendar view.(for 10 years 365 X 10 X 24 buttons will be there).but if we switch the tabs for a few times(2 -3 times ),then it will display within a fraction of the second. if the number of buttons is less, then the tabbed pane is switching tabs easily.what is the problem? why its taking time initially to switch tabs to show the big panel? ChangeListener is not implemented for the JTabbedPane.should i change the design to limit the no: of buttons in the panel? ie using previous /next buttons to browse list? please help
    thanks and regards
    Anoop K

should i change the design to limit the no: of buttons in the panel? ie using previous /next buttons to browse list?Thats the way I've seen most calendars work. I've seen implementation where you have a button to move forward one month and another button to move forward one year.

  • "General" Preference Pane Issue

For some reason, when I set a number in the Documents option of the "Number of recent items:" the next time I log in the option has changed back to "None." This does not happen with the Applications and Servers options.
Any ideas appreciated.  It's causing me some problems with some applications, namely iBank.

  • Panning issues in Premiere CC

Something is wrong with the audio panning feature in Premiere pro CC:
I've been panning my audio clips to the left and right for about a year now. never had a problem before today.
On the sequence time line: Select the audio clip in A1
in the "Audio Effects" window: pan the clip 100% left
DITO clip in A2 but pan it 100% right
Play the sequence: the "audio track mixer" shows Audio 1: left channel only. Audio 2 right channel only
Today: after going thru the panning ritual: both channels play in Audio 1 and Audio 2 (not in a panned formation)
So I repeated in a fresh CC Same result... closed/opend the project ... rebooted the computer ...same result
moved the clips onto different tracks: got different results in the audio track mixer sometimes they showed panned sometimes not.
So I tried muting a track: then the othre track showed panned. Just plain weird.
So I repeated the procedure in CS6: no problem. everything was correct.
So I repeated it yet again in CC: all messed up.. Whats going on?????

Ok .. they are mono audio clips .. originally recorded as left and right.
Therefore I want to pan them left and right just like I have done countless
times. Please read my original post more carefully. It will save me
repeating myself. Especially the part about: if I mute track A1 then A2
shows the right side only. Then if I un-mute A1: A2 shows both left and
right, even though it panned 100% to the right (actually it shows very
slightly panned to the right... tell me thats not messed up!
