CCMS job monitoring -- RZ20 job history node get duplicated record

Hi,
I configured CCMS/Solution Manager auto monitoring job failure. When a job failed on my satellite system, it created a alert and send notification to my CEN, which is my solution manager. Then solution manager send e-mail to a distribution group.
This is working fine until last week. Now when a job failed, in job history node of RZ20 of my satellite system, the alerts are created mutiple times even the job actually only failed once. For some reasons, the history node of the alerts are updated every 5 minutes with the same job failure. More interestingly, after one hour, it did not create alerts any more. However, as the result I get many e-mails with the same job failure in this once hour, which I expect only one e-mail.
Do you guys encounter the same problem? I am wondering something has been unintentionaly turned on so it's updating every 5 minutes. I want to turn it off. I looked at SM37 try to find if some batch jobs are doing this but did not find anything running on every 5 minutes.
Any helpful answers will definitely be appreciated and reward point.

Hi Suhas,
Once we had the same issue. But once we updated the current ccmsagent in both Solution manger and the satellite system the issue got resolved.

  • How can I edit the Alert Description for a SQL Agent Job monitor, specifically Job Duration.

I'm setting up some sql agent job monitoring, I need to monitor for Job Duration.
This is easy enough, I just create the overrides and set the parameters and it alerts as expected, however there is no alert text. The alert does me no good with out an alert description. How can I change this?

It is not an easy way for your just copy that monitor and modify it. If you has interest, you may use MP2XMLDumper tool to export SQL server monitoring MP , modify relate moniotr and import it into SCOM.
You can download  MP2XMLDumper tool  from

  • RZ20 CCMS background job monitoring not collecting updated information

    System: ECC 6
In RZ20 > background job monitoring, the jobs that I am monitoring show last data collection was on November 30, 2010.  However, under "backgroud service" and "background processing servers"  data collection shows current date and time.  This is on a Production system, and in the QA system this is working correctly.
What could be the cause of the data collection not working for just the background job monitoring?

Monitoring segment needed to be reset to warmup status.

  • CCMS Background Job Monitoring Runtime Alert

Our Basis team has configured CCMS and the Background Job Monitoring for long-running jobs.  They want to set up a "generic" entry (for example, * for job name) so that all jobs will be monitored for runtime longer than 1 hours (will be longer duration when moved to production).  This seems to be working correctly but the alert message does not give the name of the background job that triggered the alert. The altert text is "Alert Text:3821 Sec > 3600 Sec Current value over threshold value System:DEV ".   This message is coming from message class RT, number 001.   How do we get the job name included in the alter message?  I have looked at the messages available in message class RT but do not see one that includes a variable for job name.  We do not know where to look to see what data is actually available for the alert text message and what other message classes might be possible.

    Hi,
in SAP Solution Manager there are actually tools to support you in implementing the Job Scheduling Management (JSM) standard and these tools cover the request, documentation, schedulign and monitoring of a job.

  • CCMS Background Job Monitoring

We have setup CCMS background job monitoring and use it to send alerts for failed CH_* jobs. We activated an autoreaction for Job_Monitoring_Status.
Our autoreaction method has some extra functions to suppress duplicate alerts. It uses the alert text to check this. The standard alert text for Job_Monitoring_Status includes the job id + the end time: e.g.:
    u201CCH_APAC_SD_RVV50R10C_DEL_BS_S1 | 03282700 | Termin, started at 12.10.2011,03:28:27 terminated at 12.10.2011,03:28:29u201D
This will let us duplicate suppression fail. We only need the job name in the alert text.
Can we change the message class for the Job_Monitoring_Status? Do we need to write our own message class?

  • CCMS in CPS for monitoring failed jobs

    hello,
One quick help needed. Is it possible to monitor failed jobs in CPS using CCMS?
    Thanks
    Anju

    Hello Anju,
perhaps you want to check out https://service.sap.com/jsm in order to learn more about the integration possibilities between SAP Solution Manager and SAP Central Process Scheduling by Redwood. Because of this comprehensive integration there is no specific CCMS integration but of course CPS can also write information into the CCMS via XMW interface.

  • Job Monitoring with SolMan or CCMS

    Hi,
does anyone know, how to monitor jobs and zjobs within the SolMan? Or using CCMS?
    Thank you

    Hi Timm,
you should evaluate Business Process Monitoring capabilities within SAP Solution Manager. It offers functionality for a technical job monitoring.
You will find further information (for example detailed setup guides) in Service Marketplace: http://www.service.sap.com/bpm -> Media Library
Check the information on configuration in the Solution Manager IMG (transaction SPRO -> SAP Reference IMG -> SAP Solution Manager Implementation Guide ->SAP Solution Manager -> Scenario-Specific Settings -> Operations -> Business Process Monitoring.

  • How do I monitor running jobs in the Portal (or other J2EE)

How do I monitor running jobs in the Portal (or other J2EE), like SM66 in
R/3 ?  We were having an issue that one "job" doing database work was
holding up doing any modification work in KM. The DBAs could see what was
holding this up in the database by not doing commits, but unlike R/3, I
can not find a way to tell what process is generation the database work.
Is there a monitor in J2EE or Portal that would provide this
information? This would be valuable in our Webdynpro for Java environment also.
    Thanks for any guidance.

    Hi,
You can monitor java using Visual Administrator tool and through CCMS RZ20.
Following PDF shows the JAVA monitoring tools availabe in SAP netweaver.

  • Problem with  monitor a job

    Hi all,
I am running a job which loads data from one DSO to another DSO . The update rules have a start routine which extract data from APO livecache using 2 -3 functional modules for some characteristics of the target DSO .
Earlier this load was taking 1.5 hours to finish but now its just taking more than 4 hours and this job is occupying all system resources and so other jobs are kept in hanged state.
    I want to know :
1> How can i monitor the jobs ? i mean how to monitor the jobu2019s system resource utilization (number of processors) ?
2> How can i reduce the time of load ?
    Thanks

    Hi,
With job monitoring, you can monitor individual jobs in the Alert Monitor with regard to status and runtime. This is an important extension of the monitoring of the background runtime environment (see Background Processing Monitor), in which the general status of the SAP background processing is monitored (for example, with regard to utilization or job terminations).
The job monitoring is used to monitor jobs that run regularly, that are always scheduled using a particular name or name pattern (such as a fixed job name with a timestamp). A job of this type is called a job chain.
For more info go through the below link
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/60/cd49ff274aa240a7291286ec797618/content.htm
If your Data load are independent with each other you can schedule in Parallel and this will reduce your data load time with comparison to series load. When you are loading data in parallel, you have to keep your Background workprocess in mind. If you have three workprocess and four parallel data load in process chain, fourth will wait until it gets the free workprocess.
The staging process of any significant volume of data into SAP BW presents challenges to system resource utilization and timeliness of data. This session discusses the causes of data load performance issues, highlights the troubleshooting process, and offers tuning solutions to help maximize throughput. Many aspects of data load performance analysis and tuning are covered including extraction, packaging, transformation, parallel processing, as well as change run and aggregate rollup.

  • CCMS alert for Bckground Job

    Dear Experts,
I need to configure mail alert through solman for failed backgrougnd job in R/3 system. Please can anyone share configuration guide.
    Regards,
    Sampath

    Hi Sampath,
please visit http://service.sap.com/solutionmanagerbp. There you'll find a link to the Best Practice document "Background Job Monitoring with SAP Solution Manager" (number 064). The document is mainly about job monitoring as part of Business Process Monitoring (which I would actually recommend). Nevertheless at the beginning of the document also the CCMS job monitoring is briefly explained.

  • Applying Business View format of ARA into Job Monitoring of Process Control

    Hi Gurus,
I have an issue regarding with the Job Result of when using SOD sub-scenario in Process Control. We have integrated AC and PC and the controls that have been set for automation, however, the fields (User ID, Name, Group, Risk Description, etc.) are not showing on the PC Job result like the ARA can do. Below information are given:
    1. In ARA --> User Level --> Simulate the risk analysis with Business View format --> Result --> choosing Management Summary --> above mentioned fields are shown.
    2. In Automated Monitoring --> Choosing Management Summary --> onlyfields of technical view format are the only ones that can be shown (User ID,Risk ID and Control ID).
Thus with this, is there any possibility that the Result of the Job Monitoring of the PC can be manipulated? If yes, can you provide some steps?
Hope you can help me on this.
Kindly refer on the attached file for more info.
    Thanks!
    Mackoy

    Christopher,
Re-generating the transfer structure does not need InfoPacks to be re-created. if you are still getting the old error, two possibilities:
    1) You created a new DataSource with new transfer structure, etc. but the InfoPack in the process chain still points to the old trsnfer structure.
    2) The data in the table has some records as MM/YYYY and some as YYYYMM.
You don't need to re-create the InfoPacks if your transfer structure is re-generated. They should work off the latest definition always.
    Cheers

  • Issue in periodic jobs monitoring

    Hi Guys ,
i have created a program for monitoring periodic jobs. out of list of some 120 predefined periodic jobs if the job is not released (Status S in table TBTCO) then send a warning mail with details of the jobs.
this program is set as a daily job. now problem is that when my program runs through job then it sends some jobs in mail though they r released...while manually checking in table TBTCO i found 92 jobs are in released status but if checking after 5 mins its showing 91 jobs in released status....can any one know why these periodic jobs status behaves randomely... is it like if periodic job is delayed then its status is not released...or do any one have any idea regarding this abnormal behavior???
    Kind Regards,
    Jacks M.

    My Dear Experts,
It is my select query hitting at a particular job changing it's status for released to Ready/Active in which the difference might be in Micro/Nano Seconds this has caused the job monitor tool output showing the relevant job as Not Released... Thanks guys for being patient enough to a query which might be insufficient in getting ur minds work...
    Kind Regards ,
    jacks.

  • Data Services Admin Console "Read Timed Out"  via Job Monitor Log Tab.

    Hi All,
I am getting the "Read Timed Out"  via Job Monitor Log Tab issue, when large ETL jobs are being executed.
Is there a resolution for this issue.
    Thank you
    Kind regards
    Hai.

    Hi Manoj,
I have checked the UNIX server and the admin.xml is not located in advised location.
The only two file that are in the advised location are:
    - ContentTypes.xml
    - PythonAPI.xml
I have another install of data service (default installation) on a windows environment, and I checked the advised location and the file is there.
Is it possible to copy the windows admin.xml to the Unix server.
    Thanks
    Kind regards

  • Unified Job Monitoring: How to delete a Monitored Object ?

    Hello,
in unified Job Monitoring I face the Problem, that I deleted a Monitoring Scenario without deleting the included Monitored objects.
I set up another Scenario and would like to reuse the Monitord object names - which is not possible, because the System informs me, that they already exist. Also, in the Monitoring UI These Monitored objects still Show up and there's no way to get rid of them.
    Thanks for your Support !
