Cell phone charging problem

Hi,
My Nokia 6234 is about 2-3 years old. And in the last few months I've started noticing a problem. When I fully charge my phone and it's at work, it loses charge in about a day... even when I don't use it much at all, and I don't use bluetooth, play games etc. The signal strength/network is fine.. so it shouldn't be because it's searching for a signal constantly. And this never happens anywhere except at work, ie. at home a full-charge lasts 3 days easily if i don't use it much. What could be the problem here? Something to do with the environment perhaps? Any ideas will be much appreciated

Yes.. Environment has its effects on the battery.. especially extreme Cold and extreme Hot temperatures.. but do you have remarkable difference at home and at work?

Solved Bluetooth cell phone pairing problem after 10.4.8 update

I am not sure why it works this way,but I tested it a few times and it was consistant.First I updated to version 10.4.8 . The 3 motorola razor phones I have were not able to pair anymore at all.Under 10.4.7 file transfers were no problem and pairing always occured.I use the d-link dbt 120 bluetooth adapter and until now (with 10.4.8) communication was never a problem when the adapter was attached to my belkin hub where it has a docking area for flash drives and mp3 players etc... .
When I now try to use the adapter on the usb hub it doesn't work now at all.I get messages that communication is not possible etc... . When I put the adapter on the one usb port on the front of my powermac g5 then I get very quick pairing ,file transfers etc... . I moved the bluetooth adapter back and fourth between the hub and the front of the computer and the result was always the same.The port on the mac works and others don't anymore.
The other ports on the usb hub worked fine with 10.4.7 but not with 10.4.8. It seems like the hub fell from grace or something with the new update. I felt better when I could get it to work. I wish I would have found this out before I did the archive and install though to go back to 10.4.7 .
I reupgraded to 10.4.8 then found the solution to my problem maybe 10 minutes away from a second archive and install to take me back to 10.4.7.

Thanks for your response! Unfortunately I am enough of a newbie not to understand the implication of what you said Where should I look for these devices, and are they conflicting with iChat somehow? Do you mind telling me what action to take to fix this?
In the meantime I did a 10.4.9 update and airport stopped working completely. I talked to Apple support and they had me do a factory reset on my airport extreme basestation and reconfigure it in order to get to work again, and I have not tried video iChat since that happened.

Charges for calling Skype number from cell phone

Just purchased a skype phone number. Chose a local area code so family can call me while Iam in Italy. Will there be an additional charge on their cell phone when they call me. They have unlimited calls and text on there monthly cell plan. Will I have to pay skype if I answer call to my skype number on my cell phone? If I purchase a premium subscription will I be able to call home from Italy on my cell phone? And how much will that cost per minute- or will the monthly premium price give me unlimited calling and text from my cell?

Using USB to charge external cell phone

I have a Motorola Q cell phone, which I've successfully recharged in the past using its accessory cable plugged into a USB port in our former HP computer. I presume everything was USB1 due to its age. I now have a new iMac and none of the USB ports, either on the back of the monitor or on the keyboard, will charge my phone whether it is turned on or not. I thought I read in David Pogue's book the USB ports would work with both USB1 and USB2. Or, is there not enough power coming through the iMac to do the job? Would an external, self-powered USB hub do the trick? Help!

When on=line banking, or checking my cell phone bill, I can't download my statement or phone bill, the page will pop up, but will remain blank. No problem with I.E. What setting needs to be changed???

When I'm on a secure site, like my bank, or my cell phone account, I can't download my bank statement or cell phone bill. If I click on my bank statement, it will take me to a page with the list of my statement months. When I click on a month, another page will appear that says "about blank", but then nothing appears on the page. I'm guess it's a security setting, or a proxie setting, but I don't know which, or what to change it too. Help?? If I use I.E. (which I hate to use) everything works okay. Same problem if I try and download my cell phone bill from Verizon. Thanks

No I don't have any firewall that I know of that could affect the Desktop app. I have reviewed the link you sent across and the results are as follows:
1. Make sure you can connect to the internet.
Yes, internet is all good... no problems here.
2. Make sure that you can access secure sites:
Yes, I can access secure sites as tested by the example in the list (https://www.adobe.com).
3. Check your hosts file.
Test successful after going to: https://lm.licenses.adobe.com
Moving on to reset the hosts file...
I've followed the instructions and I get to "Select the hosts file and open it".
If I simply double click, then the default is to open in TextEdit.
Once open, I go to find File > Save As, but it only says, "Save a Duplicate" and then once I save a duplicate, I don't know where to save it because the Save window only shows the basic folders and I don't know how to get back into the /etc folder from the Private files.
More instructions please, if possible?

This didn't work for me, so I did a bit of searching and TONS of pages later in google, I found an answer. Here are the steps for people who also were in my situation:
1. Take off bottom case
2. Unplug battery - blurry image here: http://i.ytimg.com/vi/03cC79r5Dx4/0.jpg
3. Press and hold power button for 5 seconds
4. Plug a charger in, and it should start booting up
5. After shutting down again, reconnect the battery and close the case up
6. It works! (hopefully, if you guys had the same situation I did)

Problems with cell phone bluetooth hackers

Hi there, I have been having problems with someone accessing my machine through the wireless bluetooth system. The logs prove it and there seem to be no way to shut down or dissable the modems. There is more than one it seems. I have reformated my drive and reloaded operaring system. As I was going throught the initial state of the machine like firewall settings printer settings and wifi, the changes that I was making were being changed back. I have checked the remote settings like the remote screen set up and and then a cell phone mac address poped up. Is there code that I can write to the EFI to not load this bluetooth because I have spent countless hours trying to figure this out. In my Sony Viao I had such a go around with this It took me almost six weeks before I gave in and took it in to the shop. Today I was setting up the home network and public came up an then 2 and 3 was below it. NTUSER.DAT is respocible and I can't get rid of that either because one is keeping the other running. Computers aren't supposed to be like this I know . IF someone could help I would appreciate all that I can get. Thanks in advance.
