Center Button Will Not Work???

Hi everybody,
Here is my problem: my select/center button on my 3rd generation iPod nano is not working. I went to itunes on my computer, and clicked restore, now on my iPod it's stuck to the language setting. What do I do?

You should go to the Apple Store, to get a new iPod Nano, there is a malfunction in your iPod's center button, i don't think restoring it helped at all, my guess is that it's a hardware problem.

- After charging for 1/2 hour or so, does iTunes see the iPod? If yes, restore the iPod from backup.

On my MacBook Pro, sometimes when I click to close tabs in Safari the button will not work. I have to click on some other part of the screen and then it will. This happens in other programs like Word/Excel for changing font, etc. Solution/Suggestions?

I have exactly the same settings in Options (in both computers)
for history, these 2 add-ons and all other stuff in Options. The only difference is that on 1 pc sessions can be saved and closed tabs can be reopened, on other main pc they stopped to work. + no any other add-on that does similar things works on this pc.
It is also interesting that I can reopen closed visited sites from History Panel, but not by pressing the Button. For now I only manually bookmark links to a temporary folder.
Recently (some 2 month ago) I pressed x and Firefox closed all tabs without saving them without displaying save & quit pop up.
so I changed 4 settings in about.config
browser.tabs.warn on close true
browser.warn on quit true
browser.warn on restart true
browser.show.quit warning true
but the problem with sessions appeared only 1 week ago.
So I guess the problem is not with the History settings or other settings. Seems that something responsible for button or for storing info about tabs/sessions got corrupted. :(

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

No need to download, is a native application on the iphone. go to settings »General» accessibility »assistive touch" turn on.

No you can't. Apple don't support downgrading of iOS.

I would try a restore just to see if it could be something software related, but if that doesn't work I would recommend taking to an Apple Store to see if it is a serious hardware issue and if it is, assuming you're in warranty, then they would be able to replace your phone.

I'm having similar issues with my phone. I got my first iPhone recently, only had an iPod touch gen4 for a little over a year. Updated to 6.0.2 when we got the phone (iPhone 5) a few days before Christmas. When I got home on the evening of January 11, my phone would not connect the router anymore. I was able to get it to connect after resetting the phone and the router, updating the router, and manually connecting. That laste for a few minutes and then wouldn't work anymore. I live in an area with very limited service, we have a network extender installed to help, and I am barely getting a 3G signal at times.
My wife's iPad 4, my touchiPod 4, and all of our laptops are working just fine on the router. When I dropped my kid off at school today, I noticed that I am not even seeing the school network anymore from the parking lot where before I got 3 or 4 bars and could connect to their wifi when I was there. Today my phone goes back and forth between seeing my home network but not connecting, to not even seeing the network at all even from the same room that the router is in.
Hope Apple fixes this problem soon..............

Select button will not work

My 2gb nano's select button will suddenly not work. The rest of the clickwheel and buttons work find, but not the center select button.
I restored it to original settings. Then after it restarts, you have to select a language. The select button would still not work, but then I slid the "hold" button back and forth and the select button worked to allow me to chose a language. But at the next screen of options (Music/Photos/Extras, etc.) the select button will again not work. Sliding the hold button back and forth doesn't work. I cannot do a menu+select reset because I can't get the select button to respond.
I have made sure that I have the most updated softward for the nano.
Any suggestions?

My select button has not worked for a loong time.. It will occasionally work if I press for long enough or hard enough.. but not very often. This seems to be a common enough problem so there should be a way to fix it..I hope..

Try (as best you can):
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Iphone 4 homescreen button will not work. At all

I've had my iphone 4 for almost a year now, but for some reason the home screen button went haywire and will not work now. Does anyone know any techniques or has any advice on ways I can fix this? The phone itself is fine, and has a crack in the lower back but I've had that for awhile before the homescreen button became falty.

Try a restore as new and if the issue persists it is going to be a hardware issue.
If this is the case you could pay for the back glass to be repaired and then have the button fixed under warranty, usually the back glass is considerably less to pay for the repair than a whole repair.
