Certificate of Course Completion - Recording Score Incorrectly

In CP4, I have the widget Certificate of Course Completion working, except for recording correctly whether the user has passed or failed. For one CP course module, I have one quiz question with 9 questions, 10 points assigned per question. In Preferences > Pass or Fail, I have ticked 80 points or more to pass. When I publish the course, take the quiz by answering 9 out of 10 correctly, the Certificate of Course Completion shows "22.22" points and a "Fail" -- what am I missing to have a course grade show correctly?? See screenshot image...

Hello,
What script version are you using? AS2 or AS3? If you can do your project in AS2, the developers at Captivate found it was their error and provided a solution (see the attachment) for AS2. The following are the instructions to use it in your Captivate 4 project:
Here’s how you should be using the widget:
1.Save the “certificate correction AS2.swf” in your machine locally.
2.Go to the slide where you want to insert you widget.
3.In Captivate go to Insert->Widget->Browse for “certificate correction AS2.swf”.
4.In the widget dialog go to Options->Display for “Rest of Project”.
5.Preview or Publish the project.
It ended up working great for my project! Please let me know if you have further questions.
Sincerely,

  • Populate User Name in Certificate of Course Completion

In CP4, I am using a AS2 version Certificate of Course Completion. For populating the Name line, I cannot figure out the pop-up message's directions for doing that function -- how do I do that? I did create a user variable within a text entry box to record a user's name and use that user variable text box to show the name on certain pages.

    Hi there
As Lilybiri pointed out, you need to use that variable. But things aren't as straightforward as they may seem. I found myself initially struggling with it.
Here are some notes I jotted down that may help:
Click Project > Actions and define a variable named v_Name. (Pay attention to case. v_name probably won't work. V_NAME probably won't work either - this is script and script is usually very persnickety with case!)
Insert a slide with a Text Entry Box early on in the project.
Click the Options tab and configure the TEB so it doesn't validate.
Click the Advanced tab and associate the TEB with the v_Name variable created in the first step. (This is where I got stuck. I was trying to name the TEB v_Name instead of associating it)
From there it is pretty straightforward.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Oracle course completion Certificate.

    Hi
I have attended 11g Workshop-II course in last month. I have fee-Invoice and I filled the feedback form and submitted online on the last day of class. But I do not have copy course completion certificate. How do I get the course completion certificate.
    Thanks.

    Bhanu,
You should contact either your instructor or Oracle University for your course completion documentation. You can find local contact information on our website here http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=225.

  • LSO - Course Completion Certificate

Please help me with information as to where can I find a learner's Course Completion Certificate in the system or is the Certificate generated dynamically and not really stored in any table?

    Matt,
SAP does deliver configuration by delivery method, but you are free to change this (add/delete/reorder infotypes as needed by delivery method).  This is done via the IMG.  Under Learning Solution>Basic Settings>Dialog Control-->Current Settings, you will find Maintain Personnel Actions.  Here you will find the various actions for the different delivery methods, and you can review/modify as needed.  Course Completion Specifications IT should be already configured for you for delivery methods like WBT and online test.

  • Export to AICC - Completion Records

I have a situation where an AICC course produced by Captivate
sends 2 completion records to LMS only sent if the person
successfully completes the quiz. If the person taking the quiz
fails the quiz, then only one completion record is sent. Here's the
    details scenario:
    1. The quiz has 5 questions.
    2. There is a 'submit' button one each question page.
    3. The passing grade for the quiz is set to 100%
    4. As soon as a user clicks on 'submit' for the very last
question, two PutParam interaction records are sent to LMS with
status = complete if the user receives 100% in quiz. Only one
completion record is sent to LMS if the user fails the quiz.
How can we control it so that only one record with status =
    complete is sent to LMS?

if you don't suppress you will get in export sheet
if you supress you will not get in export sheet......this is a default template of the designer
if you want to suppress and hide duplicate in report and the export sheet should show all the data then you have to handle it with some formulas
    some thing like
in report column have black color only for the 1st occurrence and display the value in white from then on...so that you report will looks like hiding the values except the 1st value...at the same time your export sheet show all the values.......
    This may help...
    Thanks,
    Ganesh

  • Reserved fields in the catalog record have incorrect data???

I inserted the orginal installation disk for the Mac mini. I ran the verify disk. Then nine of these messages in red showed - "Reserved fields in the catalog record have incorrect data." I then did repair disk and now it shows that 1 volume could not be repaired. I have the MiniStack as well. I am assuming that the Hard Drive is the one needing repair. Not the MiniStack which also has OS installed along with Classic. How can I fix the disk? How important is the message in red?

    You have directory damage.
Use Disk Warrior to repair the drive: http://www.alsoft.com
Explanation of what directory damage is and what causes it: http://alsoft.com/DiskWarrior/details4.html
The other option is to wipe your drive and re-install everything.

  • Error: The sort order specified for distinct count records is incorrect

When processing a measure group with a distinct count measure in it, i get the following error:
"The sort order specified for distinct count records is incorrect."
I have no idea what this means - any ideas?

I had the same problem and your fix worked.  In more detail, the problematic field was contract_no.  I added a named calculation to the table in the Data Source View with the formula CHECKSUM(contract_no).  Then I created the distinct count measure on that named calculation.  And, lo and behold, the errors disappeared!

  • FYI DU error:"Reserved fields in the catalog record have incorrect data"

I had a very perplexing problem...
My iMac G5 was shutting down by itself so I took it to Apple and had the power supply replaced. After it was repaired I was concerned about the hard drive health after the unexpected shutdowns. So I ran Disk Utility and encountered the following...
The iMac G5 is running OS 10.4.6.
I ran "Repair Disk Permissions" from Disk Utility and encountered no errors.
I ran "Verify Disk" from Disk Utility on the drive and I get these results (copied from DiskUtility.log):
    Verifying volume “TheDisk”
    Checking HFS Plus volume.
    Checking Extents Overflow file.
    Checking Catalog file.
    Checking multi-linked files.
    Checking Catalog hierarchy.
    Checking Extended Attributes file.
Reserved fields in the catalog record have incorrect data
    Checking volume bitmap.
    Checking volume information.
The volume TheDisk needs to be repaired.
Error: The underlying task reported failure on exit
Disk Utility stopped verifying “TheDisk” because the following error was encountered:
The underlying task reported failure on exit
    1 HFS volume checked
    Volume needs repair
This occurs whether I run it while booted from the hard drive or the restore disc. While booted from the restore disc, running repair disc indicates that the failure could not be fixed.
Booted from the hardware test disc and all tests passed.
Booted from TechTool Pro disc and all the tests passed.
Booted from Disk Warrior (had to get the "free" update to boot my iMac G5) and rebuilt directory. No errors reported.
Still same error reported in Disk Utility. ???
Booted iMac in 'safe' mode. Rebooted iMac normally.
    Disk Utility now reports success!

Sorry but this is not assistance to you but an additional request for help from someone!!!
I had the same thing occur just now!!!! I have used everything in site and keeps returning............
Hope someone has an answer as to why this occured....

  • LMS Completion Status Reporting Incorrectly

We currently use Learn.com as our LMS solution. When we publish our Captivate projects to the LMS, users course completion status is marked as
'Completed' after they have opened the course and viewed the first slide.  I've set our reporting settings from the Preferences>Quiz>Reporting to Complete/Incomplete and Slide Views only to 100%.  I don't understand why it's reporting completed when users have only viewed one slide.

    Hi,
Which version of Captivate are you using?
What are the Quiz Reporting Settings? Have you published to SCORM or AICC?
    Please let us know.
    Thanks,.

  • LMS / LSO - Course Completion Specifications

Can someone confirm where you specify course completion specifications for a WBT. I guess it is to be specified at D / Course Type level, against "Minimum" in Completion specifications tab. I guess it also depends on the Learning Objects. If the above is right, and if the minimum field has a zero, would it mark course completion as 100% even if the learner has accessed it for a minute only. Appreciate expert opinion on this Pl

  • LSO System Performance and Course Completion

We have been encountering issues with users receiving only a 50% course completion in LSO 3.0 for web-based course.  We are attempting to determine the trend and root cause-- it appears, for example, that a user successfully completes one course at 100%, immediately books and attends a second web-based course; successfully completing the second course and passing the test.  For the second course, the user receives only a 50% completion.  This has occurred to at least 200 employees over the last 3 weeks.  Has anyone else encountered this issue?  If so - what did you find.  Do you have any ideas for us to assist with troubleshooting?

    Hi Sherry,
The most common case where I see 50% completion in LSO 300 is the scenario which involves WBT + a final test.  When setup correctly, this would involve: (1) creating one learning objective, assigning it to the learning net (with "attainable" unchecked), but also assigning the learning objective to the item group of the final test, and (2) defining up the Course Specifications infotype to have learner complete 100% of learning objectives AND 100% of learning objects.   Where we have encountered problems before is that an author either forgets to assign the learning objective at the item group level of the test, so the learner never attains the learning objective.  As a result, they are sitting with 100% of the learning objects met, but 0% of the learning objectives met, resulting in an overall completion percentage of 50%.
So...perhaps there was a problem with the setup of the course (either initially or when it was versioned) that is causing the problem.
It not clear from your attachment whether all learners have received 50% completion, or just some of them, but it wouldn't seem possible that the system is behaving differently for different learners, unless it could be traced back to some versioning activity.
Not sure if this is your situation, but take a look and see if this is your problem.

    Gary

  • Internet Explorer not recording scores for SCORMS

I am having a problem with Internet Explorer not recording the scores for SCORMS developped in Captivate 7.   A Forum in Moodle suggested that the problem is that Internet Explorer always has an error with the instruction DoBeforeUnload.  I can see that this is always causing a problem.  Do you have any suggestions or work arounds for this?

I am using Captivate 7 to produce the SCORMS, and the courses are hosted in MOODLE 2.5.  The scores are recorded well in google Chrome but not in Internet Explorer. I have been trying out the courses with Internet Explorer 10 and 11 and both produce the same error:
A moodle forum suggested that IE10 and IE11 do not like the command DoBeforeUnload, and need the command BeforeUnload. (I have checked the Moodle SCORM API and the commands and scores are being sent.)

  • How system will capture the course completion status

    Hi Gurus,
    Module: OLM/iLearning
Question: Users have to manadatorily click on "Home" button to get the completion status captured on OLMS? Is it standard functionality? I couldn't find the details in the user manual. Please suggest. Thanks.
    Regards,
    Grandhi.

Couple points of clarification (at least in Oracle iLearning)
Completion/learner status is recorded when one of the four things below occur:
    1. The learner navigates to another learning object within the course outline (if there is more than one object)
    2. The learner clicks the home icon (or close, depending on player preference settings)
    3. The content calls ExitAU (for AICC content), or LMSFinish (for SCORM 1.2/2004 content).. This is typically called when the learner moves away from the content by items 1 or 2 above but can also occur for example on the last page of the course, depending on when the content decides to finish communication with the LMS.
    4. The learner closes the browser window. At this stage, assuming pop-up blockers are disabled, the LMS will open a small window for a couple seconds that will finish off the communication with the LMS before fully shutting down. This typically gives the content enough time to call the appropriate finish command listed in #3 above.
In Oracle iLearning, there are two main options for opening content in a new window, the first separates the main player window from the content and the second includes the content and player in a separate window.
    1. On the content object properties page, the Open in New Window checkbox can be checked. This opens the player in the main browser window and pops up the content in a separate window.
    2. On the offering properties page (select content object -> Offerings link, edit offering), the Open in New Window checkbox can be checked. This will open the player in a new browser window and the content within the player frameset in that new window. If the admin has also clicked the Open in New Window checkbox on the content object properties, a 2nd window will open (total of 3) with the content.

  • AICC Course Completions are not writing back to LSO

We are on LSO 602 and we have both SCORM and AICC courses.  We have implemented the Single SCO Badi w/ the sample code that was provided.  This has helped solve the problem w/ the Single SCO completion progress, but we are having problems now w/ the AICC courses.
AICC courses are not writing anything back to the LMS (we can see this through the API log while playing the courses in AE).  Now, when a student takes an AICC course in the portal, passes it, and confirms participation, they are followed up as Failed and Confirmed Participation.  The completion specification infotype specifies that 0% of the Learning Objects is required to pass the course.
This has made it unclear as to whether we can use the standard implementation of teh Single SCO Badi in conjunction with AICC courses.
Has anyone had success w/ AICC courses writing completion back to SAP LSO correctly?  And has anyone has success w/ AICC courses while the Single SCO Badi is implemented?
    Thanks!

We do have the same problem. We implemented interface to a vendor for aicc courses and once course is completed they are sending as 100% completion to our CP but  SAP tables are not updated at all. Did you firgured it out what's the solution for your problem
