helpful. When using the Oracle web site, getting the
information you need (as opposed to the advertising that Oracle
wants to feed you) is very difficult. Be patient. You might
find more help on some of the other forums.
The fact that your question has not been answered in over
a month is sad. Apparently the Oracle community is afraid
of new competition.

What kind of certification is needed?

Hi!
I have an issue with getting the right certification of a form. The
Adobe XML Form Object Model Reference 2.2 describes the exportData method at page 575. In the very first paragraph is says "For security purposes, this method only executes when performed on certified documents." I have certified my form for export of data and the
exportData method works fine as long as I don't specify what the file name should be. In the examples the current code is used:
xfa.host.exportData("filename.xml", 0); // will generate data in XML format
This will not work. Does it have to do with the certification or is a bug?

You can export form data using the "File-->Form Data-->Export Data from Form" menu option in Adobe
Acrobat. This will pop up a dialog allowing you to specify a file name and file location to store
the XML file.
If you want to export the data using a button and some javascript code, you can do this as well with
Adobe Acrobat. You would make a call to the xfa.host.exportData() method without specifying a file
name. This will cause the same dialog to popup allowing you to specify a file name and file location.
If you want to do the same thing with Adobe Reader, you have to use Reader Extensions Server to add
the export capability to the document. The reason for this is because exporting data is not
standard functionality provided with Adobe Reader.
Now, if you want to call the exportData() method and specify a filename, you must certify your
document. This is done for security reasons. When you specify a filename, it will automatically
write the file out to the user's hard drive. Any time an application is automatically writing a
file out to the user's hard drive, there is some opportunity for malicious code, so Adobe is
requiring that this be a certified document to prevent this capability from be exploited to spread
viruses and spyware. To certify a document, you must add a digital signature to the document. You
can do this in two ways:
- You can certify the document manually using Adobe Acrobat
- You can certify the document programmatically using Adobe LiveCycle Security
So no, you don't need Security Server to export data. You should use the above information to
determine what is the best approach for you.

1z0-051 Certification - Advice Needed

Hello Guys,
I have been reading, learning and practicing Oracle 11g SQL Fundamentals for the last 3 months and finally ready to take up the Exam 1z0-051 by October 15th 2009.
The only book I used: OCA Oracle Database 11g SQL Fundamentals I Exam Guide (Exam 1Z0-051)
Version I practiced: Oracle 11g (Practiced almost using the SQL Developer and not the SQL*Plus)
Samples Questions I worked on: I got access to Skillport's 1z0-051 Testprep course (Sponsored by my Company).
I feel confident enough but then I would like to hear from the ones who already passed this exam.
Are there any other material or samples questions I need to work or concentrate on?
How would you rate the exam from a beginner's perspective. (When I say beginner, I mean a person with just 6 month experience in Oracle Database.) Is the exam dead easy or moderate or really difficult?

If your performing adequately on the questions with OCA Oracle Database 11g SQL Fundamentals I Exam Guide (Exam 1Z0-051) and I believe you've put in lots of practice besides then its probably time to have an actual exam attempt.
Certainly you seem to be on the approach advocated by [http://blogs.oracle.com/certification/2009/05/the_route_you_choose.html]
I personally, and I accept people are different, feel that from once I feel I have an 80% chance of passing then I need to have a shot at the exam simply because if I fail I'd be in a better mindset to attempt a retry.
There are additional tests you can buy from the authorirized providers ( [OCA Oracle Database 11g SQL Fundamentals I Exam Guide (Exam 1Z0-051)] ) or you can get additional practice tests from the Sybex book.
I must admit I value practice tests like golddust; the second time I attempt the a practice question I may remember the answer so I always like to leave a practice tests late into my revision cycle and if possible to take the last one (or two) just before I go for the exam.
But IMHO I think you've put a lot of commendable effort into studying and its worth having a go at the exam. Take usual exam advice, my chemistry tutor used to say If all else fails read the question ... Dont be thrown off course if the first few questions throw you and be aware of the time remaining; there is no point running out of time and not attempting an answer to all questions. You mave the option of marking questions for special review. And the ones you can answer correcctly do so; quickly double check your answer, and move on; on dwell on it ... the time will be beter spend elsewhere. Exam technique only comes to most moere mortals with practice.

Oracle Certification : Help needed

Hi friends !
I want to prepare for Oracle certification. But I am in dilemma as there are two versions of Oracle : 9i and 10g for which the certification exams exists.
10g is the latest one and I think it will be better to prepare for it. But in my project we are using 9i and I wud b able to do all the practice on it.
Moreover 10g has only one paper for OCA whereas for 9i I need to clear 2 exams for OCA.
Can anybody tell me the differences between the two ?
And will all 10g commands necessary for certification run on 9i platform ?
Plz suggest which one should I go for !!

If you just want the OCP title then do 10G. If you want to be a better DBA, do the 9i OCP and then upgrade to 10G. I am 10G OCP and I could clearly see that the level of detail of the 9i study material is far superior to that of the 10G study material.
For 10G OCP they seem to assume that the database will tune itself and that you can backup and recover your database but clicking around in Enterprise Manager. This is all good in theory but if those tools fail then you still need to know what to do to get your database working.

First of all I haven't cleared my cert. as of now. Hopefully, almighty willing, I will try to before this year end. And about the study material C_TADM51_70, I dont quite get you, because as of now its a 5 week course, i.e. TADM_10, part 1 & 2 ( week1 & week 2), TADM_12, PART 1 & 2 (WEEK3 & WEEK 4), finally tadm51 ( Oracle administration on netweaver 7.00, the fifth & final week). For all the said things, you need a good hands on practice through knowledge of sap technical administration for clearing this 5 week course. Its only in bangalore, that too after paying the fees you will be told dates & venue for exam. the dates of exam and venue are bound to be of higher frequency in bangalore, with just 2-3 exam dates a year in pune & Delhi.
Also, you cant be sure that you will be giving the exam whenever you want to. its up to the dates on which the SAP decides on pre-analysis manner and gives out the exam pattern and dates for different venues worldwide, including India. In this case you may want to give the exam next week, but, if you pay your fees, only then you may be sent the list of dates and venues. The dates displayed may be starting earliest from next fifteen days onwards, so you cant be sure about it.
As far as the SAP N.W. 7.00 trial version being free, there is nothig free that sap gives as all its softwares are downloaded from marketplace using proper loginids & pwd's after a paying up for the license by any firm. But some Unscruplous employees leak it out without company's prior permission to install and use it for personal benefits. This is breach of conduct & should never ever be mentioned as you may be banned from this wonderful website altogether.
Exam fees has also been increased by Rs.11,000/-, i.e, it stands now at Rs.38,600/-, inclusive of taxes from may 1st 2010 onwards.
My advise is you first get a job and give the certification within 2-3 years time, as the material you have mentioned is seriously outdated and is of no use for the exam. Else join the course ( basis is taught only in SAP INDIA PRIVATE LTD, DOMLUR, BANGALORE, and nowhere else in India in any authorised Institute/SAP partner). This is one of the most important point as I myself had to conduct an enquiry calling all the authorised SAP education centres in India. Thats the best I can tell you. Also, you have to give the exam within 4 months time starting from the day you made your exam fee payment, whether by training or relevant job experience,

Xen server quick start doc needed

Anyone have a good intro doc for someone on vmware looking to explore the option of xen instead?
I have a narrow window for testing, and I'd to know pretty quickly if it feel right or not.

Data to be fetched from legacy system to SAP and doc needs to bee posted

Hi Experts,
I have a requirement where my client is using some application in Legacy system(Fuel Software) which receives fuel(Petrol, Deasel, CNG) in system and issue the same to company owned vehicles and wants that sap should be integrated and document also needs to be posted in sap for all the receivings and isssuences against their vehicles.
Process Designed is:
1. Required Data file will be picked from legacy system with some date stamp and will be placed in sap directory.
2. There will be batch job which will check for new file based on date stamp.
3. Will pick record n will pass to Goods_mvt_create bapi and then will post the document.
4. We have created Vehicles as Internal orders in sap and whenever any issue will be there internal order no will be captured.
5. By this way we are receiving and issuing in sap.
Now my problem is i am stuck in designing step 1 and rest 2,3,4,5 steps have already been designed and working fine. Need your help in step 1. Else you may suggest some better way-out but again want to mention rest steps are already mapped
