Change author name

How do I change the author's name in book, the book has already been published.
Thanks.

Hello there,
If you're using Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader, as I suspect you are, you can change your personal information (such as login name, first and last name, and email address) by going to the "Acrobat" menu (or "Reader" menu) and selecting "Preferences"; then, choose the category "Identity" and change your information as necessary.
For future questions about these products, kindly post them in the Acrobat or Reader forums; this forum is for questions pertaining to Acrobat.com, and we are not usually able to answer questions about other Adobe products and services.

  • Change author name in properties

I have a PDF created by someone else and I need to anonymise it before sending it on. This means I need to change the author information in the document Properties, but although I can click the author name and highlight it, I can't change it. Has anyone come across this? Does anyone have a solution other than going back to the original author, who presumably would be able to change it?

    Hi alisons68876995,
You might need to try this out:
Go to "Edit> Preferences> Commenting" and disable "Always use log-in name for author name" option.
Then, make a comment in the PDF and once done, go to Comment properties (Click on options in the comment pop-up) and the choose 'General' to choose the author name.
Now, accept the changes, click on options again and choose 'Make properties default'.
Now, adding a new comment will now include your name.
Please check and then let me know.

  • Save as PDF - Change Author Name?

In any application when you go to Print, Save as PDF is there any way to change the default author name it already has written there?

Unfortunately, that's not the answer that anyone is looking for. It's not changing the author name that is desired, but changing the author name that comes up by default when you save as PDF so that you don't have to select the author field and change it from your username. The goal is to remove steps, not to add steps.

  • Problem changing author name in commention tools

    Hi Forum
Whenever I do commenting in Acrobat 8, it will use my short name as author.
I would like to change that, and I don't want to change properties for each and every comment.
In the Acrobat preferences, I have unchecked "Always use log-in name for Authors name" under Commenting, but Acrobat still uses "Login name" under Identity.
Is there a way to get Acrobat to use the Identity:Name preferences instead?
    Kind regards
    Lars

You also need to change the comment name in the tooll and then 'use as
    default' option ....

  • Changing Author names that appear on iTunes.

I recently took over hosting duties for my show and got a new co-host, how do I change the author names on iTunes to the current hosts?

The name is carried in the 'itunes:author' tag; if, as is usually the case, you are not hand-writing the feed but using a program or online service to create your feed you will need to change it wherever the original name was entered, and then re-publish. It will take the Store a few days to catch up.

  • Change author name in Acrobat reader

I like to change the other name in pdf made in acrobat reader. How and were can I do this. Thanks for any help.

You can't "Make" a PDF using Adobe Reader. It's for viewing/printing.
Generally, author information is placed in the PDF at the time it is created by the software being used by the original document. Either that or it can be added later by using Adobe Acrobat.

  • When i changed the names of my books in iTunes, it did not changed in the iPad after i had synced it again with the changes. can anyone help? i had added authors to the author column and deleted their names from the book titles.

i had added books to iBooks on iTunes and synced with my iPad mini. Then I realised that the titles sometimes had the author name, or a random number before it. I made changes to all the books in my iTunes library, edited the titles, added authors to the author columns, year in year column etc and synced my iPad again. but my iPad did not update these changes at all is still in the old way. can this be rectified?

Have you tried closing the iTunes store app via the multitasking bar and seeing if it works when you re-open it
Have you tried closing the app via the taskbar ? (I assume that your iPad is on iOS 6, though the version that your tagline shows, 6.1.6, is not a version for iPads) From the home screen (i.e. not with iTunes store app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the iTunes app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't fix it then you could try a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Author name changing 9.0 Pro

Using 9.0 Pro - recently had to change from XP to 7.
Initially started learning 7.0 with Account name of David - no special security.
Then as I get more knowledgeable in Win 7 and IAW recommendations  I set up an "Administrator" account with PW of "Dr. XXXXX" that allows me access to everythhing, but also allows malicious folks in also. Win 7 recommendation was to also have a non-secure account for everyday less-sensitive tasks so I did this also with the PW of "Dr. XXXXX".
Naturally I want to use the Dr. XXXX in my Stickies for professional clout, but Acrobat insists on using David.
Yes, I know about the tick-mark under "properties" where I can specify that my ID in the stickie is to be my log-in name. Yes, I have tried unchecking, rebooting, re-checking, rebooting, etc. Acrobat refuses to use eith my "administrator" or my non-secure name of Dr. XXXX. Frustrating.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Neptune

Hi Bill - thanks for the response.
I am now beginning to "cone in" a bit am better able to describe the
    problem:
    1.  As I stated at the start, I am using Acrobat 9.0 Pro and Win7
    2.  As I go to: Edit...preferences...commenting...making
comments...(checkbox) Always use log-in name for author name.
Whether or not this box is checked or unchecked the result is the same:
I go to Sticky Note on the taskbar, place it on the page, go to
Options...properties...general...author I find "David". Yes, I can change
the Author Name, but whether or not I further check the box, "Make
properties default" thr result is the same - that one sticky will have the
correct "Dr. XXXX" but the next sticky, as well as subsequent PDFs once
    again default to "David.
    3.   Thanks to ***** (whose four links all quite happily referred me to the
Acrobat X page (I clearly stated 9.0 Pro) then quoted a generic OS (rather
than my clearly-stated Win 7) I finally figured out the problem when I
accessed the 9.0 Pro help in the far right lower corner of the Acrobat X
page. Dumb of me, I admit but I had tried this initially in my own program
"help" without really understanding what was happening.
SO HERE IS PART OF THE ANSWER: The overall basic "author" information
appears to reside in Edit...Preferences...Identity...Login Name (type-in
box) David. Now the fun part. I am unable to change the Log-in name and thus
am unable to change the sticky note. When I try to change the Log-in name I
get a cheery tone, a blinking box, and no was to change David to Dr. XXXX.
Well, it does seem that once I can change the ...Identity...log-in name I
should be able to change the sticky PERMANENTLY.
So I apologize if I have seemed a bit grouchy, and I do appreciate those of
you who have tried to help, but it does get frustrating when those trying to
help express a solution that uses totally unrecognized words, or do not get
even the Adobe  product correct, or the OS...
SO - now the underlying problem is defined. ...
USING WIN 7 AND ACROBAT 9.0 PRO, HOW DO I CHANGE THE LOGIN NAME UNDER
EDIT...PREFERENCES...IDENTITY if I am not allowed access?
Again - apologies to all, but the time I have spent...

  • How do I change the name and author of the book I have downloaded?

I have bought and downloaded a book which has turned up in my library with the title Dokument1 and the author as Pero - to say the least, not correct.  How can I change the name so I know what it actually is and who actually wrote it?  Gotta say - I'm new to Digital Editions and so far I am completely unwhelmed.  Mobipocket is 5000 times better.  Seriously.

I also have the same problem, it's very annoying. It seems to me that nothing can be done about it.

  • How to change author and producer name in garageband?

I would like to change the author name and producer name completely in my garageband.

    leonieDF wrote:
    Edgar,
the settings will be used on the exported file, but not on the project file.
I see what you mean. I thought the question was about the exported file.
However, regarding the metadata for the actual GarageBand project file, you still can edit that directly in GarageBand without editing the plist file insided the GarageBand Package file.
Here is a screenshot that illustrates the connection.
    My Info
Only the Album Name will be used as the Projects Metadata when you change that entry in the My Info window and save the porject. You can see it in the plist editor under
    <key>com_apple_garageband_metadata_albumName</key>
    Podcast/Movie Track
Here is the hidden trick. The two properties "Artist" and "Composer" can be set in the Track Info window for the Movie or Podcast Track. Even if you don't use any of those two in your song, you still can make them visible and change that info. Making any changes and save the GarageBand file will display the updated metadata in the plist editor under the two porperties:
    <key>com_apple_garageband_metadata_artistName</key>
    <key>com_apple_garageband_metadata_composer</key>
    Finder: Get Info
Of all the four fileds in the My Info window, only the ArtistName is listed in the Get Info windowfor the GarageBand project file (with the lable "Author")
Although very intersting, I didn't include those details in my GarageBand manual because this info is too geeky and a bit too much for the average GarageBand user
    Hope that helps

  • Change author "unknown" into the known name of the author?

When I insert books from one serial of one writer into Digital Editions, some of the books give the writer's name, but other are remarked with "unknown". Is it possible in Digital Editions to change author "unknown" into the known name of the author?

Pages can export only its own documents. They may be exported as PDF, MS Word, RTF or Text files.
Pages can import (ie. Open a file as, or Insert a file into, a Pages document) documents in several formats, but won't rename the document as you describe. Documents that can be Opened (eg. Text, AppleWorks 6 WP, MS Word files) are converted to Pages documents, and retain their original names, with .pages replacing the original file extension. Files that can be Inserted (generally .jpg, .pdf and other image files) become part of the existing Pages file and lose their names.
It may be possible, using AppleScript, to extract the text you want and to Save a Pages file using that text as the filename, but that would depend in part on being able to identify which text is wanted and which is not.
How will the script determine where the author's name begins and where it ends?
How will the script recognize the beginning and of the title, an decide how much of the title to use in the filename?
How will the script recognize the year of publication?
For papers published in a specific journal, with a strict format for placing each of these pieces on information, or containing the needed information as searchable meta data in the file, this might be possible. But it would require knowledge of the structure of these files, and would probably handle only papers published in a specific journal or set of journals.
Outside my field of knowledge, but there are some talented scripters around here who might want to take a closer look.
    Best of luck.

    Barry

  • How do I change the name of my podcast in iTunes?

My podcast is listed by my name (John Bell) in iTunes instead of its title (Bell's in the Batfry) which confuses a lot of folks looking for it.
Is there a way somebody can explain to me... in "idiot english"... how I can get iTunes to change the name?
      Windows XP

I've looked at your code and the title of the code in your .xml file (and when its viewed in a web browser) has the title line down as your name not your podcast name.
An error in the entry I'm afraid, not iTunes. As Mitchell says you can open the .xml file and edit the text - however, every time you create a new episode you may find the programme you're using will overwrite the code.
As your name appears twice in your podcast (as the author and as the podcast name), only thing i could suggest is looking at the details youve entered to see if you had to put your name in twice in your programme - if you had to put it in twice try changing one of the fields, publish it and then open the xml file in a browser window - if the top line shows the amended name you know thats the one!
Hope that all makes sense - it does in my head!!!! :o)
