Change description of Absence Type...
I have to change the desc of an absence type ,I have changed it in table T554S table .Th eabsence desc is changed correctly and is visible when i check in IT 2001 of an employee but it is showing incorrectly in PTMW .Do i have to change the desc in PTMW seperately ? How can i get the Absence desc changed in PTMW ?

Hi Shivakumar,
V_T554S is the only place where you need to change absence description. Then updated absences will be reflected in IT2001.
If you have corrected in the above table, then just log off and then log on and check.

We are upgrading to SRM 7.0 and have a requirement where we need to rename the decription of Product type (dropdown) "Materials" to "Goods" on the "Describe Requirement " screen.
We tried modifying the value table COMC_PR_TYPE_T which stores these values however the change did not reflect on the Web dynpro side. This seems to be like a buffering issue however we are not sure.
Does anybody have any idea why system is behaving this way? or is there any other way of doing it?

Did you solve the problem? Iu2019m facing with the same issue. Iu2019ve thought also that maybe the AS or the portal buffers the dropdown values, but now Iu2019m not sure about this. Please help, if you know the answer.

I am not asking to create a new activity. I am asking you to create the same activity type with start date from period 1. The end date for this will be one day prior to existing activity type. e.g. if activity type lab_la is currently valid form 01.01.2006 to 31.12.9999 and now i want it to be valid from 01.04.2005. In such case I will use t code KL01 and create the activity type lab_la with valid from date as 01.04.2005 and valid to date as 31.12.2005. I can create this new activity type w.r.t. existing activity type lab_la.

can we define a new absence type without changing the employee subgroup grouping and psg.
my requirement is i have a absence type lop which has 1 as esg and 28 as psg.as per my pcr i have to cumulate total lop hours and deduct from total working hours.
can any one tell me how can i modify the absence type so that i can use it in my pcr.

My requirement is to Restrict Absence Type LOV at the time of applying the leave in Self Service. For that i have used hr_absence_restricted.absences_restricted.
After changing this package Its working fine at the time of applying leave.
But in search i want to display all kind of leaves, But its restricting serach Absence Type LOV as well.

I have change text through KL02,but when i enter again in KL02,the system shows:
Act type COAr Short Text Language Valid from to
LABOR 9000 Labour EN 1.4.07 31.3.99
Hence it is still showing LOBOR but in short text it is coming as "LABOUR"
Pl advise,how i can change "Act Type Col" and put Labour in said column.

How can I change the value field type from Currency to Quantity of a value field? I have tried to do it in KEA6. I can change the value field and its description, but not the value field type from currency to qty. If I change this config, is there any other changes that I need to make so there is no side issue of this change?Hi Prem,
Once you created value field as quantity or currency, you can not change this nature of value field. Based on this, system creates lots of data and tables. For this reason system will not allow any changes in quantity or currency.
Alternative way is to remove the old value field and create a new value field assign to operating concern and put all your seetings.

how to resolve this
SDBcz recently i made a change like this
For our sick leave
"First 14 days(1- 2 weeks) Full Salary
Next 14 days (3- 4 weeks) 75% Salary
Next 14 days (5- 6 weeks) 50% salary
Next 28 days (7- 10 Weeks) 25 % Salary
More than 10 Weeks no Salary"
so what i did is
I mantain one Sick leave type and counting rule as -
seq no 1 for "First 14 days(1- 2 weeks) Full Salary
seq no 2 for Next 14 days (3- 4 weeks) 75% Salary
like this for all the conditions
and in deduction rule I maintained deifferent Absence quotas
Plz suggest me this solution will work out

We have a requirement to have different Absence type be simultaneously created.
Meaning, different absence type on the same day be recorded.
We can change of course the Time contraint but when running payroll.
It throws the error in function GBSXP Overlapping absences, Check IT2001.
Is there a way to get around this function?
If you ask me, i'll have the two absence type be not created simultaneously.

How to keep Default Attendence/Absence type in Record working time (CATS) application?

I tried by keeping default value in Profile for Attendence/Absence type but it is not reflecting in CATS application. It is reflecting after entering from time and to time and after pressing ENTER button.
But i have to display the default value while loading the application?
Is it possible?

Thanks for your reply. We tried by maintaining standard template for a profile. But It is not allowing us to change the default value in Attendence type.
Let us consider we kept default attendence type as Attendence for 7rows. If we changed the default value of 2nd row from Attendence to Leave, After pressing Save Button the entry which contains Leave is going down to 8th row.
So i dont think that this is a better solution.
I will try with jyothi solution and will come back to you.
