Change mis-spelled email address
I was setting up my daughters iPhone and mis-spelled her email address.
Anyone know how to change the address?
I feel like I'm now caught in a loop where I'm prompted to verify the account but can't do so because I entered an invalid email address

When a user creates an icloud account, they use an Apple ID, like [email protected] to define it. If this use of an ID is what you mean, then NO you can't change it without creating a new ID and thus new account.
But if all you want to do is have a different email address associated with the account, then that you can do by defining an alias email address. Using a computer's browser, log into icloud.com and go to the Mail page. In the upper right there's a cog wheel, click that and then choose preferences, then accounts. In the icloud account, you can add a new alias. Note that it must be of the format [email protected] -

That's definitely not supposed to happen. You shouldn't have someone else's iCloud email linked to your ID.
You'll have to get iCloud support to sort this one out. The only way to contact them is to start here: http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/. You'll have to provide your iPhone serial number. Unless it's within the 90 day free support window, or you purchased AppleCare, there will be a charge. I suppose you can plead your case when they answer that you shouldn't be charged as you didn't set up this address and it shouldn't have happened with your ID. -
Changing the alternate email address
My mother has the same alternate email address as my iCloud account, so I've been trying to change her alternate email address. However, when I go to manage my Apple ID on her account, there is no edit button next to her alternate email address. Also, when I go to mail settings on her iPad the iCloud account information displays my iCloud account as her email. Is there any way I can change this, as it's very annoying.

CharliForgive me. I mis-spoke. It is the "alternate Apple ID" that I need to delete or change. When my co-worker retired we bought him the iPad2 and in the process of setting it up for him it originally got set up using my email address because basically we didn't know what we were doing at the time. A year later I purchased an ipad for myself using my email. Now under my account name, etc..it shows MY apple id, my email address, and his Apple ID as the alternate Apple ID.

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.
If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, and your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. - How did you dlete stuff from the iPod? If you have a 1G or 2G iPod and deleted the stuff by going to Settings>Genera.>Reset>Erase aall contents and settings without being connected to a power source, the battery dies before he erase was comleted since it can take hour.

- Reset the iPod and then connect to the computer and try to restore va iTunes.

I need to change my iCloud email address. I changed it for my Apple id but I can't log out of iCloud to change it there. Find my iPad is activated so I can't delete my iCloud account. I don't have the email address the iCloud login has anymore so I can't have the password sent there. To sum it up, iCloud has an old email for the account log-in. I don't remember the password for the old email. I have Find My iPad activated so the iCloud account cannot be deleted. And I am already logged out of iTunes & App Store.
If you mean that Find My Phone is asking for a password to a different Apple ID to your current Apple IDand that ID is a previous version of your current ID, not an entirely different one.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details and some other circumstances.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device. It may take a short while to remove the account.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

I changed my AppleID / email address after my old email expired, and now whenever I go to sign into iCloud on my computer it still shows my OLD AppleID in the log-in and it won't let me change it. So I can't sign into iCloud! I can still sign into iTunes though from my iPhone and laptop, but iCloud isn't working anymore, where do I go to update my AppleID in the log-in for iCloud???

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too. -

You cannot change your iCloud email address. It is an @me.com address, and is associated specifically with that iCloud account. If you want a different @me address assigned, you have to delete the current iCloud account and set up a new one.

i have updated my iphone 5s to iOS8 but it has my old icloud account, how can i change the icloud email address as i can not get passed this page??
I do not know the log in details and no longer have that icloud email address !!
please help :-(That's Activation Lock. You will need to remember the Apple ID and password you used to set up the phone.
If you can't remember them, you can go to iforgot.apple.com to try to recover the information.
If you are the original owner of the phone & have proof of purchase, you can try calling Apple to see if they can assist also.

Once you have created an iCloud account and chosen an @icloud.com address to go with it you can't change the address (short of creating an entirely new account).
However, all is not lost. You can add up to three 'email aliases' - these are additional addresses (not accounts) which deliver into the same inbox as the main account. (In fact it's a good idea to give out alias addresses, rather than the main address, because if they attract spam you can easily change them.) (New aliases can only be @icloud.com ones; @me.com addresses cannot now be created.)
You should be aware before you start that once you've created an alias you cannot turn that address into a full iCloud account or move it to another account.

Ok, so here's the deal. I want to change my iCloud email address. Ultimately I want to keep the same Apple ID and simply edit the part before the '@icloud.com'. If this is not possible, can I make a new Apple ID and transfer all of music, apps, files, and mail to the new Apple ID and all of my other devices?
