Change of ownership of idpod

I received an ipod shuffle which was my daughters.
1-IT IS LOADED WITH SONGS WHICH I DO NOT WANT HOW DO I DELETE THEM ALL ?
2-MUST I RE-REGISTER THE SERIAL NUMBER AND SET UP AN ACCOUNT UNDER MY NAME?
3-HOW DO I MAKE IT WORK FROM MY COMPUTER AND NOT HERS?
4-CAN YOU HAVE (2) DIFFERENT IPOD SHUFFLES ON THE SAME
COMPUTER WITH (2) DIFFERENT APPLE ID'S?
PLEASE HELP ME LOST IN JERSEY'''''

1. You can do this either by re-formatting the shuffle (open windows explorer and right click on the shuffle drive and select format), or when you link shuffle to your library it will delete them automatically (see below)
2. Probably best to do that if you can, that way it will be linked to your email etc. Probably easier to change the details on the existing "account". I assume you are talking about the warranty here not an iTunes account?
3. Assuming you have iTunes on your PC, install the CD that came with the shuffle, and plug it in. It should say the shuffle is linked to another libary and do you want to allocate it to your library in which case it will delete all the songs on the shuffle. a shuffle can only be linked to 1 library.
4. Yes, I have mine and my wifes shuffle hooked up to my notebook, using the same itunes library

To prepare a computer for sale or donation, in addition to the steps mentioned in this support article, take these steps:
If you set a firmware password, remove it by running Firmware Password Utility in Recovery mode.
If you activated FileVault in OS X 10.7 or later, turn it off.
If you use Boot Camp, the partition must be deleted
If you created any other data partitions on the internal drive, remove them in Disk Utility.
Erase the data partition(s) with the option to zero out data. An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.
You can't legally or practically transfer any software downloaded from the Mac App Store to the new owner of the machine, even if it was free. That includes OS X, so if you paid for an upgrade OS X 10.7 or later, you must reinstall  the original OS, either from the installation media, if applicable, or by booting into Internet Recovery (option-command-R at the startup chime.)
The new owner will have to repurchase the software, if need be, under his or her Apple ID. If you ever updated the bundled iLife applications (Garage Band, iMovie, and iPhoto) through the App Store, you can't transfer them either.
Remove the machine from your list of registered products. If it's still covered by an AppleCare Protection Plan, transfer the coverage to the new owner by following the instructions in the AppleCare Terms and Conditions (under the heading "Transfer of Plan.")

  • Can't mount external Hard drive and Can't change the ownership and permiss.

Hello everyone, got a problem and maybe someone here will know. Apple care can't help because this is due to an external piece. I have a hard drive external. I partitioned it into two hard drives. Long ago, I opened the information window for one of my partitioned drives. And changed the ownership and permission to "no access". I do this all the time to keep my files from being read if its not the administrator (me). Just recently I plugged in my hard drive (firewire and USB). Only one drive mounts on the desk top. I cannot see my other partitioned hard drive and I can' access it to change the ownership and permission with "apple key and I".. I can see a trace of the two partitioned hard drives when I use disc utility. But again it won't let me change the ownership so I can mount this again. How do I access my harddrive without refomatting? I have tried to mount this with both of my apple laptops..no luck yet. Please help, anyone.

Hi, Donnie. Welcome to the Discussions.
What part of "No Access" was unclear?
"No Access" means no access for anyone.
    To fix this:
    1. Launch Terminal, which resides in the Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities folder.
    2. At the Terminal prompt, type the following command:
    sudo chmod a+rwx "/Volumes/partition_name"
where: partition_name is the name of the affected partition.
    3. Press Return.
    4. Type your Admin password when prompted, then press Return.
    5. At the Terminal prompt, type exit and press Return.
    6. Quit (Command-Q) Terminal.
    7. Relaunch Finder: Press and hold the Option key, click and hold mouse button 1 on the Finder icon in the Dock, select "Relaunch" from the Finder icon's contextual menu.
You should then see the volume, or be able to use Disk Utility to Unmount it, then Mount it and see it.
Reset the permissions for Group and Other on the partition as desired. Do not change the permissions for Owner.
If you want a volume / partition unmounted at startup, see:

  • Change of ownership of a customer site in SAP

    Hi
By change of ownership, we're talking about a customer site (physical outlet/store) changing owners from Owner A to Owner B. Owner A and Owner B can be totally different customers with different Payer details.
Currently we are creating a new Sold-To for Owner B and then making the old Sold-To (owner A) "inactive" which has led to a bit of a mess. We'd like to avoid having to create a new Sold-To each time a change of ownership occurs.
One option we're considering is to update the existing Sold-To account (for the phsyical outlet/store i.e Owner A) with the details of Owner B but create an Ex-Payer account (i.e dummy payer account that is no longer linked to the Sold-To) for Owner A and a separate Payer account for owner B that is linked to the Sold-To. This way we can manage debt collection/claims on the old owner through the Ex-Payer account and manage payments /invoices for new orders on Payer account for owner B.
What other options are available to us?
Can we use the Head Office / Branch concept in some way to deal with the above mentioned change of ownership scenario?
What is the best practice way of handling a change of ownership of a physical outlet (sold-To) in SAP ?
Are there articles that deal with Change of Ownership and / or Head office-Branch concept that we could read up on?
Any help or ideas on the above would be greatly appreciated.
    Kind Regards
    Trevor

    Hi
This is an interesting scenario. Creating a new customer and leaving old one as orphan doesn't sound a good idea. What you have shared is the best approach I think. You are creating new Payer and assigning that to existing sold to party and changing the name address etc of that sold to party is the good approach. With this you could have financial information of old owner separately and you can start new business with new owner.
Head office and branch customer is not for this purpose. That is something else which you may have already read that. Thats kind of parent child relation but in your case your ownership is changing so I think you are already doing good.

  • Mass change the ownership of the documents ! Thoughts?

    Fellas,
I am looking for some information on how mass change of ownership can happen to following documents in Sourcing:
    RFx
    MA
Ex: Buyer A is the owner of the documents and he/she is no more with the organization. We would like to mass change the ownership of these documents.
    My thoughts:
    1. Create a report to pull the documents
    2. Script to update the owner
    3. Schedule a job, so the script can run and update all the documents.
    Thanks
    Gummadi

    Hi Gummadi,
We had same requirement , change  the ownership of Master Agreements.
    1. Create a report to pull the list  for Agreements to be changed with below columns:
    DISPLAY_NAME , CALC_METHOD, UNIQUE_DOC_NAME, DOC_TYPE,
    STATUS, CURRENCY, VENDOR, CONTACT, LOCATION,
    2.  Create workbook for Master Agreements, above fields are mandatory  for any Mass Change on MA's.
add DOC_OWNER_USER column to the work book
    3. Import this work book to CLM/E-Souring.
    Hope  this will help you.
    Thanks

  • Changing File Ownership & Permissions

Is there a way via AppleScript to change the ownership and permissions for all files (docs & folders)en masse? Can I do so regardless of original owner or permissions for files that are not password protected?

Yes, by invoking the do shell script command and the Unix commands chown and chmod. You might get better answers in the OS X Technologies fourm: http://discussions.apple.com/category.jspa?categoryID=162.

  • I've bought an used macbook pro and want to change the ownership!

Basically i've purchased on ebay a pre-owned macbook pro that hasn't come with the original OS discs and I don't know how to change the ownership!
I've only have the ebay articule of the auction that I won and my credit card resume where I paid for the item that proofs my ownership on the macbook but nothing else!!
I just want to state somehow legally that this macbook is now mine in case i need apple care assistance or anything else (legal matters).
thanks on advance to the whole community!

pre-owned macbook pro that hasn't come with the original OS discs
Which OS was originally pre-installed?  You need this information, in order to receive the proper instructions on how to wipe it clean.
Macs that came with the OS'es 10.6.8 & earlier are not suppose to be sold w/o the DVDs that originally came w/them per Apple's license agreement.  If this is the case w/you, then you purchased a glorified door stop.  The system DVDs have troubleshooting tools on them and they are machine specific.
You can get replacement System Install & Restore CD/DVDs from Apple's Customer Support - in the US, (800) 767-2775 - for a nominal S&H fee. You'll need to have the model and/or serial number of your Mac available.
If you're not in the US, you may need to go through the regional Apple Store that serves your location to find the contact number. Here's a list of links to all of those - http://store.apple.com/Catalog/US/Images/intlstoreroutingpage.html  Another resource:  International Support Phone #s.

  • How to change workspace ownership

    Hi,
the owner of a beehiveonline workspace left the company. Is there a way to change the ownership for this workspace
    or add an administrator?
    thanks,
    Claudio

    Claudio,
If the group sponsor/manager adds another email address to the Group manager's email that user will be added as a coordicnator when the next user is added.
Is the sponsor also the one who left? If so email the details of the group and who has taken over to [email protected] and we can adjust the setup.

  • Accidently changed the "ownership & permissions" access admin setting to "read only"

In the "Get Info" window on my MacBook hard drive icon, I accidently changed the "ownership & permissions" access admin setting to "read only" & now it won't re-boot the operating system. Just displays the Apple logo & running wheel on a white screen . Any advice on how best to re-set/restore would be very much appreciated, thanks

This might help. Otherwise, it might be necessary to reinstall.

  • Can't change file ownership.

To be careful, I did a new install of Lion on a freshly formatted disk (by installing SL first, of course). One of the first things I tried was Aperture. My Aperture Library is on a separate (SS) disk. When I tried to launch Aperture, it knew where to look for the file (I used Migration Assistant to transfer preferences) but it said it could not open it because of some ownership problem. (I can not say exactly what, because now it will open - I don't know what changed.) However, I still can't change the ownership. Get Info thinks that the owner is the new dummy user I created when I first set up Lion (before Migration assistant), when I try to change the owner with the gear popup at the bottom of "Aperture Library Info", I get the error message "The operation can't be completed. An unexpected error occurred (error code -8076)."
"Unexpected", of course, is subjective. There is a reason I didn't jump to updating my system disk! I haven't tried repairing permissions, but I'm not optimistic about that.
When an "unexpected" error occurs, why doesn't it trigger an automatic report to Apple?

This program you recommend is fugly and complicated...
You should see the other way to do it!
    Most likely...
When the 1st screen comes up, look for the Browse button, select the FAT drive, give it a Share Name, click the Windows (SMB) sharing bar & select Shared , enter your admin PW, click on "Show File System Properties", check Inherit Permissins, give the rights you need...
Any more questions after you Update Share...

  • Stop changing server ownership

Does anyone know how to stop DW from changing ownership
and/or group rights on the files on the server. I am an
administrator of a fairly large website, which has many
contributors. Every time I edit the pages of some else's part of

cannot edit them, and I have to go in by hand and reset them.
    Really frustrating. Thanks all!!

I have never seen DW do this. Does it happen in all sites for
    you?

To view your media, you open the app that you use to manage that type of media." this on the other hand was zero help
What you did doesn't show the Media Browser. It just shows the folders where your media is stored. You may be correct that was all that cobacc wanted.
The Media Browser shows the actual media in thumbnails so that you can preview the media.
However, neither requires any Sharing services to be enabled.

  • Consolidation group change without ownership change

    Hi All,
I require help in resolving this particular issue.
I have a company called 1000 which is having a subsidiary called 5010. both of the fall under the same consolidiation group called CG1.
Now I have run the First consolidation as of March 2009 and carry forwarded the balances in 2009.
Now 5010 has invested in 6 more companies and has become a holding company to them.
Now I thought of two options
    1. To just create these 6 companies and enter the investment details for these companies and run the COI.
    2. To create a new consolidation group called CG2. Put the 5010 company along with its 6 newly acquired subsidiaries under this consoldation group.
I ma exercising the option 2 by creating a new consolidation group as it will easy to get the reports at CG2 level.
As you can observe there has been no transfer of investment happening here. How do i take care of such a situation.
I read the posts regarding the Consolidation group changes but all posts were dealing with change in ownership happening. In my case there is no change in ownership as 1000 still continues to be the holding company. But only difference is that earlier 5010 was existing as a end node but now It has to have a consolidation group of its own where in it will have the holding company 5010 along with its 6 subsidiaries.
    Pl give me a solution.
    Thanks in advance.

    facts of the scenario
    1. Did first consolidation in period 012.2008
    2. There is a company 5510 which belongs to CG1 as of first consolidation which was in period 012.2008
    3. 5510 has invested in 6 new companies in period 003.2009
    4. I want to create a new consolidation group CG2 and put the existing company 5510 along with 6 new companies under this group (client requirement)
    5. I created a new consolidation group CG2 and assigned the company 5510 to this group along with 6 new companies
    6. In consolidation group CG1 mentioned the divesture period as 003.2009 (DABP ticked) for 5510 company
    7. in Consolidation group CG2 mentioned the First consolidation period as 003.2009 (FCEP unticked) against 5510 company
    8. The figures are not accurate at the CG2 group level.
Should I be doing anything else apart from the above steps.
Will appreciate a fast reply as it is stopping the go-live
    Thanks in advance

  • Can't change the ownership of a drive after I mount it

Ok so I recently installed Arch on the laptop given to me by my college and it originally came as one hard drive partitioned into two. One was for the operating system which is Windows 7 and data and the other was for storage. I took space from the storage and made another partition for Arch. Nevertheless, I was able to mount the partition with Windows 7 on it but when I mounted the second partition this message came up and tried to change the ownership of it:
mount: warning: /media/Ddrive/ seems to be mounted read-only.
chown: changing ownership of `/media/Ddrive/': Read-only file system
I also tried to mount it with mount -o rw but that didn't help either. Any information will be appreciated.

From the sounds of things if that 2nd partition is ntfs you may need to install the ntfs-3g driver the in kernel ntfs driver tends to only allow read-only mounting.
More info about it can be found here
