Are you getting an error message?
If your account is already set up:
Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calenders->Tap your Yahoo email then tap your email address (account).  You can then enter your new password in the box.

    Hey brainmasala,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Sounds like you are not able to connect to a Wi-Fi network with your iPad. This article has a section for Unable to connect to a Wi-Fi network and the second article is the recommended network settings. If after these it still has the same issue you may want to restore the device to factory settings.

  • HT1694 I changed my hotmail password. I then changed that password in settings, it receives emails on my iPad but won't send emails and gives me message that my password is incorrect.

I changed my hotmail password. I then changed the password in settings, now my device iPad will receive emails but gives me an error message when I send emails that password is incorrect. How do I fix it?

Try this. Go deeper into the settings.
Check the outgoing mail server setting. Make sure that your username and password are in there.
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Your email account>Account>Outgoing mail server - tap the server name next to SMTP and check in the primary server and make sure your username and password are entered and correct - even if it says that the password is optional.

    Hello there dinadinadina,
It sounds like you have modified the password settings for your Gmail account after changing the password. Thats where I would have started too. Next I would restart the device and test it one more time, and then remove and add the account again in Settings:
Get help with Mail on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
    Restart your iOS device.
Delete the affected email account from your device.
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
    Tap the affected email account.
    Tap Delete Account.
    Add your account again.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Take care,

If you have 2-step verification set up for your gmail account, you will need to generate an application-specific password for your iphone applications (because those apps apparently don't support 2-step verification).
Go into your google account, look in accounts/security/2-step verification, there is a link called "Manage your application specific passwords"   Use that to generate a special password for your iphone apps and use that instead of your usual gmail password on your phone.

  • Open Directory users prompted to change password after 10.8 to 10.9 server upgrade

I just upgraded our 10.8.5 server to 10.9.3. I also upgraded Server.app to the most recent version (3.1.2). I made a complete backup first as a precaution.
Existing non-admin users are being prompted to change their password when logging in. I've narrowed the problem down to a checkbox in the "Global Password Policy" settings in Server.app, specifically this checkbox: "Passwords must: be reset on first user login". I had that box checked in 10.8 so that new users would be prompted to create a password the first time they logged into a bound computer. It worked great and I'd like to continue using this feature in 10.9.
If I uncheck this box in Server.app in 10.9.3, existing users can log in just fine with their existing passwords. If I re-check the box, non-admin users are suddenly prompted to change their password when logging in, even though they've logged in countless times in the past.
Here are some things I've tried:
    * stopping and restarting the Open Directory service in Server.app
    * restarting the server
    * disabling and re-enabling an existing user account
    * inspecting user records in Directory Utility for any peculiar attributes
    * I used the mkpassdb -dump command to verify that the correct "last login time" is present for a particular user, but I'm not enough of an Open Directory expert to know if this is the attribute that the Global Password Policy relies on.
Does anyone have any other ideas or suggestions?

UPDATE: It looks like this issue applies to new (post-upgrade) accounts, too, suggesting that this has nothing to do with the upgrade process. Can anyone confirm this behavior? It's easy to test:
    1) Make sure the "Passwords must: be reset on first user login" box is unchecked.
    2) Create a new user in Open Directory.
    3) Log in once. No problem.
    4) Now check the "Passwords must: be reset on first user login" box.
    5) Try to log in again. Were you prompted to change your password? Logically, you shouldn't have been prompted, but users on my server are being prompted.

I have old email address's I used for iTune music purchases and cannot change password on several old accounts. Now some of the music I purchased I can not download and authorize it on my device. What can I do password security does not match my birthdate on two of the accounts. Apple can not send me email with a password authorization on several current accounts that I have with them. How can I contact Apple with this annoying problem I can not fix.

settings - app/iTunes store - sign out and sign back in with your new id.
Note - if your older apps needs an update it will use your old apple id and password, as Apps are tied to the apple id that was used to purchase it.
    You can't merge apple id.

  • How to allow users to change password

I have enabled users to change their passwords in the Server.app for the Default Site with SSL, and who can access is a group of individuals.
When I load up the Server site, I am presented with
a Login to which I then add my username and password and I am then presented with
    Welcome to OS X Server
OS X Server makes it easier than ever for the people in your organization to collaborate, communicate, and share information.
I Choose My Settings and the site is redirected to /changepassword of which a page comes
    Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /auth/ on this server.
The Directory /Library/Server/Web/Data/Sites/Default/auth/ exists with the corret permissions.  This is an empty directoy tho
    Apache Logs:
Directory index forbidden by Options directive: /Library/Server/Web/Data/Sites/Default/auth/
I cannot get this to work.  WIki's are turned on but that doesnt work either.
If I Launch /wiki, I am prompted to login, to with I do, and i just get a blank web page
    Apache logs:
    File does not exist: /Library/Server/Web/Data/Sites/Default/__collabd
This is on a new install of OSX server
    Any Suggestions?

    Hi,
On the landing page at the bottom it should say "change password".
That brings you to a forbidden page?
On my server I do not have the /auth/ folder in my default site, but my changepassword page does work.
Can you check if going to https://127.0.0.1/changepassword does work? It will give an SSL error.
Then it might be DNS related conflicting with another router/server in your network
Or... charge $ 5 per user to change his or her password personally
    Goodluck!

  • Time Capsule backup cannot be seen on new MAC after resetting Time Capsule and changing password.

I have backed up my MAC to Time Capsule with Time Machine, erased HDD and clean installed OX Yosemite. After installation I have to reconfigure Wi Fi, so I reset my Time Capsule changed password. Now I cannot see my previous back up on reinstalled MAC. Neither on TM nor on the Manual search. In finder appeared new disk. I am pretty sure that old files are still there. Can anybody suggest how to retrieve them.

    This sounds like classic Yosemite.
What you did is fine.. there is no way to delete the backups via the reset button.
What I would suggest is a new clean setup of the TC again.. use a full factory reset.
    Factory reset universal
Power off the TC.. ie pull the power cord or power off at the wall.. wait 10sec.. hold in the reset button.. be gentle.. power on again still holding in reset.. and keep holding it in for another 10sec. You may need some help as it is hard to both hold in reset and apply power. It will show success by rapidly blinking the front led. Release the reset.. and wait a couple of min for the TC to reset and come back with factory settings. If the front LED doesn’t blink rapidly you missed it and simply try again. The reset is fairly fragile in these.. press it so you feel it just click and no more.. I have seen people bend the lever or even break it. I use a toothpick as tool.
N.B. None of your files on the hard disk of the TC are deleted.. this simply clears out the router settings of the TC.
Redo the setup from the airport utility in the Yosemite computer..
Do not use the recommend names.. use really short names.. no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
eg TCgenx and TCwifi for basestation and wireless names.
You can also setup wireless password as before but I strongly recommend 8-20 character pure alphanumeric mixed case and numbers.. no characters outside of that.
Then mount the TC manually in finder.
    Go, Connect to server.
Type in the TC IP address if at all possible.. it is more likely to be reliable than using name.
SMB://10.0.1.1 (replace with your IP but it should be static.. that is default)
    Or
SMB://TCgenx.local (use whatever name you have given it.. plus the domain which is always local)
when asked for the disk password supply it and save in the keychain. Then open the disk in finder and you should see your sparsebundle in there.. from migrate assistant you should now be able to see your backup.

  • SBS 2008 RWW displays "Your password has expired. Change it on the Change Password page."

I have one User Account that when logging into RWW , a dialog (as attached) comes up? From my experience, when a password needs to be changed you are simply taken to the change password screen to enter old password and new. This AD account even has Password
    does not expire set.
Even after changing password in AD this comes up - there are some other worrying things happening with this account as when the User opened their mailbox all of their Unread Items were marked as Read. Not sure if this is related.
When I login with another Test User Account, I cannot force the same dialog to come up and a google does not show me much.
Could RWW of been compromised or is there something in User AD Account? I ended up resetting Users' password via AD just to be safe, but dialog still comes up.

    Hi,
Did this encounter for all the user accounts or just for a specific one?
In general,if it is determined that the user must change the password upon logging on to the site (for example, the password has expired or set to User must change password at next logon), the logon page will present that error message to the user.
Please check the prperties of that user account to see if you have selected "User must change password at next logon"check box.
In addition, please check the default domain policy via the path below: Computer Configuration/Windows Settings/Security Settings/Account Policies/Password Policy
Pleae check the value you have configured for “Maximum password age”.
    Best regards,
    Susie

  • Keeps  changing  passwords

I am trying to set up a broad band connection-but every time i put in the new password (in PPP i think-after opening up network link in system applications)-after i type it in and click on apply changes-it (the dots)double in length.after completing everything else-i open up the internet connection icon in applications-where around ten dots are where the correct password should be.If i try and connect now it says that authentication has failed and will not connect-which means i have to delete the ten dot wrong password and type in the correct one. After which it connects ok-the problem comes when i shut computer down.It asks me if i want to save changes made/password-and as main number 1.If i save it when it opens again it has again changed the password and i have to re-type in the correct password again and then when i shut down it again asks if i want to save changes (as main number 2/3/4 etc)-and when opens after this it again has two extra dots for the password so again i have to delete them and key in right password. So basically it seems that i can not get it to remember the correct password-also i have tried to change main number settings-but it seems i can not.In systems preferences i have tried to lock it and save password etc but it makes no difference it still doubles the number of dots i have keyed in.
    HELP
    thanks

So, you open system preferences, click on Network, then built in ethernet. You should want the TCP/IP tab. Click that, then configure IPv4 using DHCP.
That is how you want to do Broadband. At least that is how I have always done it.
    Give that a try.
