Change TOC Style in Robohelp 8.0.2- Webhelp

Hello,
Essentially what Im trying to do is remove the highlight or focus outline around my toc item when it is clicked. On safari it has a blue border that appears and everywhere else it produces a dotted line around them. I would also like to be able to set a padding, change the font color and style on rollover and normal. My first thought was to add something like this to my style sheet for all cases of <a>, but this isnt cutting the cake.
a {
outline-style: none!important;
-moz-outline-style:none!important;
Is this functionality built into the interface or do I need to go edit the javascript file that add/edit these styles? And if so, what file do I need to edit and where?  I did run across this related post, but the reference link in it doesnt work. http://forums.adobe.com/thread/690847?tstart=0
Also my javacript skills arent super strong, so I could use some thorough instructions if possible
Thanks for your help

Well, I figured since I struggled with this I would help peoples out with the easiest solution I could find.
Theres 2 locations that should be adressed when trying to edit the your Table of Content styles manually via javascript.
whtdhtml.htm:
For editing the color, underline, font, font size... setting are under "setFont" for normal and hover states.
whthost.js
For the background box size when selected, you can add padding. Also to remove the ugly highlighting from clicking on one (focus), you can add the styles inline upon creation within the following code. You can also add whatever else you want into it from here as well. This is located within 2 spots of this file. One for the book, and one for the topic, so you need to change it in 2 places.
Make sure you make a backup of your files before making changes, and to keep these altered files in a separate location because Robohelp will overwrite them next time you generate your webhelp, hence you will need to overwrite these files every time that you do.
Hope this helps!

  • Header & TOC style in Pdf

    Hi everyone,
I have two questions regarding pdf generated document.
    1. When I generate a pdf file a Header with the document name is automatically generated, how can I remove this Header ?
    2. Can I change the style of the TOC generated ? I would like to add blank spaces before my titles defined as Heading 1 ?
Thank you for your help !

You need to create a Word document instead, edit that as required and then produce the PDF.

  • TOC Style

Though the TOC Style "Always Show Selection" has been checked but still in the generated chm file using RoboHelp 10 does not close the book.  When a user navigates from one link to another from topics, the related topic is not displayed.  The other books remain open, the related book from where the html file gets displayed is not displayed.  Can anyone help me with this.

Rick will still be in bed right now.
What you are showing is a webhelp window. In theSSL pod, set Microsoft HTML help to be the default, unless you are using Rh10. Then go the Project Set Up pod and create a new window, in Rh 10 you will get an option for the window type.
In the new window you will see the required option.
Make sure you select that window when generating the help.

  • Two different TOC styles in one Pages document?

I'm a new Pages 2.0.2 user with a large document with two different tables of contents 20 pages apart. I'm trying to format them differently using different TOC styles but when I change one's style the other one changes as well. Anything I do format-wise to one goes over to the other as well. I'm hoping this is just something I have yet to learn about the product. Any thoughts?

    Hi
Someone else might know but this doesn't look good, taken from Pages Help:
"Changing the appearance of text in a table of contents
You can change the appearance of text in a table of contents and also add a leader line between a TOC heading and its associated page number.
To change the appearance of text in a table of contents:
Select the TOC heading you want to change. When you select a TOC heading, all the entries of the same heading type are automatically selected; headings cannot be individually selected.
Click View in the toolbar, and then choose Show Styles Drawer.
The Styles drawer displays a list of table of contents (TOC) styles. The TOC style that corresponds to the selected entry type is also selected.
Do one or more of the following:
To change the appearance of text, change it as you would format any paragraph text. For example, choose Format > Font or use the Text Inspector to make edits.
To create leader lines from a TOC heading to its associated page number, click Inspector in the toolbar, click the Text Inspector button, and then click Tabs. Click the value for the TOC in the Tab Stops list, and then choose a line style from the Leader pop-up menu."

  • Bugs with styles in RoboHelp 7 ?

    Hello,
I'm working with RoboHelp 7 (the french version, good news !
) for a few days and I note that there are some
    problems with the styles...
I created a new project in RH7 in what I wanted to apply a
new style sheet. So I created a new style sheet (Format Menu/Styles
then New Sheet button) : and I personalized 2 styles (The heading 1
in blue and Normal in grey). I close the dialog box Styles and I
apply the new style sheet on my topics (Appearance tab in the
topics properties). But, they have not changed (the heading 1 is
still in black as the normal style...). So I open the style sheet
and I note that the personalization of the Heading 1 and Normal
    have disappeared...
I change the styles for the second time and the changes
appear in my topics... Is there anyone in the forum who experience
    the same issue ?
Always with the styles, with RHX5 and RH6 it was possible to
create a style on the fly. This functionnality doesn't work in RH7,
    is it normal ?
    Thanks for your answers !
    Eliser

    Hello,
I have got the same problem. After having added the hotspots
via the Wizard all my topics were Times New Roman although I had
specified Verdana in the CSS. In the CSS no (obvious) changes were
applied the Style Normal had still VErdana. I then changed Normal
to some other font and saved all topics. The topics were changed.
ICh changed Normal back to VErdana and guess what - VErdana was
    back on the track again.
Methinks this is a grusely workaround.
I thought everything would be easier in RH 7 but some things
    stay the same;o)
Oh yes and my problem is that the style for the hotspot and
expanding text stay the same even though I changed them for the
    umpteenth time.
    Keep on hoping....

  • Changing Multilist Styles causes RH not to Compile

I am using Robohelp 8 HTML. After changing the style of the Multilevel list by clicking the Increase space between list prefix and paragraph text twice for each of the 9 levels, I could not complie correctly. I got the 512 byte warning but no fatal errors. When the compilation was completed, I clicked View Result and got nothing. The .chm file could not be opened. I dont like the look of the default multi level list format with the text wrapping under the number and want to fix it. I can fix it in my topics but once I go to compile, the .chm can not be opened...please help!

Thanks to Peter, whose messages late Friday and yesterday I
didn't see until this morning, I now retract nearly all of my
    previous post.
It happened that kadov cleanup was coded late in the RH 7
development cycle. I was looking at topics in a project that I had
started in RH 6, then opened in a test version of RH 7 that was not
the final release. Even though I started fresh, with a new project
in the final RH 7 release, and imported those topics from the old
RH 7 project, they had been tainted, apparently. I apologize for
    this false alarm.
I think my old .css stylesheet was an unnecessary
complication. I plan to create a new one in RH 7 to match those
    styles.
Another oddity that still clouds the picture:
When you import topics from an RH 6 project, the RH 7 view of
html source shows no evidence of kadov tags.
However, even after you save and close the new RH 7 project,
Notepad and FAR find kadov tags lurking about until you make a
change and save the topic in RH 7.
I understand you can edit and restore text in RH 7 before
saving, and kadovs will be gone in Notepad and FAR, as well as from
    RH html view.
RH 7 does better if you open the old project directly, rather
than importing individual topics. Yet, the old .css style sheets
(default, etc.) retain kadovs. Maybe they get cleaned up later if
you apply them, I haven't tried.

  • Synchronizing TOC Style issue[CS4][js]

    Dear All,
When i synchronizing TOC style in group of documents thru
    myBook.synchronizeTableOfContentStyle  = true;
    myBook.synchronize();
it will synchronize perfectly to all documents if TOC style exists in first document in that batch, if its not (in any other document) it will not synchronize the style.
Help me to synchronize TOC style that will exists in any one of the document in existing batch (documents).
    Thanks & regards,
    San

synchronize: Synchronizes the entire book to the style source document.
The default style source document for a new book is the first one added, but you can change it to any other with
    myBook.styleSourceDocument = myBook.bookContents[...]
    or
    myBook.styleSourceDocument = ..a reference to a document..
This does mean, however, you have to know in advance which of your documents contains the TOC style you want to copy to all others.

  • Importing TOC from other RoboHelp Project

Is it possible to import a TOC from one RoboHelp project into
another one? I searched the help file but couldn't find any
    information on it.
    TIA.

    Hi Rick,
Thanks. I figured a way around it by importing the entire
book again and not overwriting the files I already had in the
project. Basically we have 4 manuals that share the same chapter.
It's a long chapter with alot of sections and I didn't want to have
to import that into each RoboHelp project and "clean" it up for
each manual. So I did it for one manual and then just copied the
files to the other manual folders and did a quick find and replace
for text I needed to change (manual name). However, the TOC for
that section wasn't being created because I omitted it from the
book. And I was too lazy to create a TOC by hand for that section.
But I think I have a workaround that will still have some clean up
but saves time over creating the whole TOC. Make sense:-).

  • Word Doc Format/Font Changes when Imported into RoboHelp

We currently have RH7. When we went from X5 to RH7 and imported our Word docs (Word 2003), the fonts and styles changed sometimes right after importing and other times after running the Glossary Wizard. It seems like RH7 doesn't want to read Word 2003 styles. Our temporary fix is to import our Word template (that we use for procedures) into each project. Once we import a Word document, we have to change the style sheet to the point to the Word template in order to fix the font and styles. We have to import the template whenever we import procedures or run the Glossary Wizard. Has anyone had this problem? We were able to import no problem with X5, but with version 7 we have to add these extra steps. We did find that when we created a new project in RH7 (not upgraded from Version 5), that we didn't have to import the template and assign the docs to it as the style sheet. Our projects are many and large in volume, so recreating in RH7 is not an option for us. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Isn't the problem here with importing rather than with the webhelp output? I wonder if this post would be better in the RoboHelp HTML forum.

  • Table of Contents Issue - TOC Styles Set Correctly, but TOC Shows Two Fonts on One TOC Line

I created a template and set up all of the styles correctly, as with every other template I've ever made.  However, I have never run into this problem before.
I created the template to match a client's style/look.  They use a font called "Gill Sans MT."  My Normal style is set to this, and my TOC styles (TOC 1, TOC 2, TOC 3, etc.) are based off of the Normal style.  My Heading styles are
also based off the Normal style and use the same font.
For some reason, the TOC in the document is populating with two different styles.  The actual Heading text is showing up as Arial font, but the tab leader and the page number are showing up in the Gill Sans MT font (see below).
Any idea what's going on here?  I have tried modifying the TOC styles, inserting a new TOC, basing the TOC styles off of "(no style)," changing the Heading styles, clearing the formatting on the Heading styles, etc.  I can't get anything
    to work.

All I can suggest is to try your steps again. You mention everything that I would try.
I assume that the template is a .dotx or .dotm file, and so, does not have an "attached template."
When you tried basing your TOC styles off "no style" I assume you set the font to Gill Sans MT. I would definitely have the heading and TOC styles set to cascade.

  • Where can I change the style for a subtab?

Where can I change the style for a subtab? I cant find the Style Element Property for this. I only want to change the text size (the automatic size is too large form my page)... can someone help me???????.. thanks

    Hi there
Well, this is a yes and no answer.
Yes, you could change an icon, But no, RoboHelp won't make it easy. What you will end up doing is massaging the JavaScript code for the WebHelp output. This particular change isn't really for the faint of heart. Oh, and you would likely have to change it each time you generate your WebHelp output.
I would encourage you (and others) to consider submitting a Wish Form to ask Adobe to put this on their radar for a future version.

  • How to change dynamically style in smartforms

    Dear All,
I had a requirnment to select different styles in smartforms depending on some condition, can u plz suggest me any solution for this.Thanking you.
    With best regards
    Gaurav Lashkari

    Hi,
    Goto Transaction smartform.
Place radio button on style, then give <b>style name</b> and
    create it.
In paragraph format right click and create node.
Give some name it wil create a node.
Double click on that node than u can
change your style by using font tab.
You can create any number of node.
    Save and activate.
Then in your smartform->form attributes->output options
    Give your <b>style name</b>.
Then place the cursor on the text to be modified and
select your style from paragraph format.
    Thanks.

  • How to change html style titles of a JTabbedPne at run time??

    hi,
how to change html style titles of a JTabbedPne at run time??
    setTitleAt is not working...

You can't change the canvas at runtime. But you can put the scrollbar on a stacked canvas and then show or hide that stacked canvas on different canvases.

  • New character style not showing up in TOC style

I created a new character style called Subchapter....
Then I went to layout>toc styles.. and hit [new]. Under "Style" my new character style "Subchapter" is not there. Also, under the "Styles in Table of Contents....include paragraph styles.." my new character style "Subchapter" is not in the other styles list.
    What am I missing?
    Thanks.
Also, forgot to mention, I am in book mode at this point. Maybe I need to add that new character style to each .IDD chapter of the book?

NEvermind, it was because I was making a character style, not a paragraph style. Now it shows up.
    Thanks anyways.

  • How can I change the style of a row in tableview?

    Hi,
How can I change the style of a row in tableview, for example ,I have 10 items in table view, and I'd like to change row 1,4,10 background-color:red; font-family:Arial ,Font-Weight:BOLD.
    Any suggestion?

Yes, I knew how can I change the style using cell factory. there is a lot of work to do if it has so many columns in table view. we need to implement every cell factory, Do we have a simple way to change the whole row style , just like fabsav said, I 'd like to set the special row like this line:
tableview.getItems().get(i).setStyle("myRowstyle"); And I found a bug if I implement my functionality with cell factory way, I can't change the cell style after rendering cell.
    protected void updateItem(Object object, boolean empty) {
          super.updateItem(object, empty);
}updateItem() was only triggered while cell is being rendering, there is no way if I'd like to change the cell style after rendering event.
Hi fabsav, How can I apply a CSS class to a specific row? Can you please provide a short example?
