Changeing Scrip in Live Environment
Hi,
I've update an existing script, i've uploaded it and now want to swap the script in the Application from the drop down menu box.... My question is, when i do this is there any chance of losing an inbound call, as in during the mouse click on apply???

If you have a server that has mssql and you boot the server into a live windows environment ( loaded into memory on the server much like a live distro of linux.) is there any way to start mssql in that live environment? im guessing here, maybe
load the hive, copy some things to the live environment?
this can be done with linux and mysql and any other application/software installed in linux without issue. i was wondering if there was something similar that could be done in a windows live environment.

What is a live windows environment, in addition, we need to verify if you want to start SQL Server Service after installing SQL Server instance in your Windows Operation System.
Usually, if you start SQL Server service, you can use SQL Server Configuration Manager, SQL Server Management Studio, net commands from a command prompt, Transact-SQL, or PowerShell. There is an article about how to start , stop, pause, resume, or restart
the Database Engine and so on.

According to a web and support forum search, myself and another person, Chloe in the Dreamweaver Club forum, have ever reported this. Trying to follow along a Lynda.com tutorial, and the instructor isn't getting this error. Can't imagine why it's happening. I'd be very grateful for any help. Dashboard Builder - Anyone using this in Live environment

We have requirements wherin we want to integrate Xcelsius and Detailed Webi reports and develop a kind of reporting suite where the Xcelsius will drive the reporting outputs in Webi.
we have completed a prototype and know this works with the use of 'Dashboard builder'.
Wanted to now check if anyone has used 'dashboard Builder' in a lIve environment and how stable it is.
Can we publish reports developed in Dashboard Builder to folders and control who has access to which report ?

SameerHi some customers are using Dashboard in PRD environment and it works fine is ver stable.
Respect to the authorizations, you must asume that a dashboard is a resume of webi, xcelsius and analytics reports and you need authorizations for any element individually and then also authorization to the dashboard if you need you can restrict the access as any other file in the BO.

Flash player issues in live environment
Hi, i'm a newbie to this...
I've created an aspx page and have been given a flash video that needs to be embedded.
After trying many different ways i finally got the following code to play the video locally(with an error, see error below):

I do get an error, but when clicking continue, the video still plays. But in my live environment it only plays 2 seconds of the footage and throws the error.
The error is the following:
Error #2044: Unhandled AsyncErrorEvent:. text=Error #2095: flash.net.NetStream was unable to invoke callback onXMPData. error=ReferenceError: Error #1069: Property onXMPData not found on oxylus.vplayer.Main and there is no default value.

Report taking a lot longer to run in Live environment
Hi,
I have created a report in Discoverer Plus and in the Test environment this report takes approx 5-10secs to run.
I have exported the report using Discoverer administrator and imported it into the Live environment.
When I go to run this report in Live it is taking considerably longer to run, it is taking over 45 minutes.
Has anyone experienced this issue before and how did you manage to fix it?

MartinI dont think I have seen that poor of performance arise but one of my reports double in time and it turned out
1) There was an INDEX missing in my production system
2) Statistics needed to be ran on a couple of the tables
The worst slow down I saw was when the DBA's had brought up my TEST system. All reports were running slower than their DEVL counter parts but this dealt with an .init setting the DBA's forgot to add but I cannot envision that being the case for you on your LIVE system.

How to Copy Production/Live Environment Data into Staging Environment?
I have been given the task to go into the Production/Live Environment within SharePoint and copy the data and place it into the staging environment. I have been told the Staging data is older.
I have no idea how to do this. The Staging Environment uses different site collection URLs. I only want to copy the data so links and everything wont take me to the production site.

If you just copy a site collection from Production environment to Staging environment, you can backup the site collection in Production then restore in Staging.
Back up a site collection:

If the web application only has this site collection or you want to copy the web application, you can deattach the database of the web application in Production then attach it in Staging.

Publishing unx universe to live environment
Hi,
We have a universe created in dev/test system.
How can we promote this to live system using IDT. Whenever try publish still has session as test system.
Assume if do via Promotion Management will it will create in the same folder on live?

If you promotion management that only the universe is promoted i.e. no change to the connection or security settings on the production environment.
Yes…There is no change in the connection and security.
If it’s new development you need to promote universe with connection to Test and Prod System, once it’s promote test and prod, you need to change connection pointing to test DB in test, same like in Prod.
If existing project, you need to promote universe only to Test and Prod environments, coz connection it’s already pointed in test DB in test environment, pointed in Prod DB in Prod environment, -

We wont' be able to enter the exchange rate in the MIRO directly . this is driven by the exchnage rate type assigned in IMG at the compnay code level or the document level..

Can't change RUS in interop environment Exchange 2003/Exchange 2010
Hello!
We have interop environment with Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2010 Servers. We have many Exchange 2010 servers, and not so many days ago had a lot of exchange 2003 servers. So we moved all mailboxes from Exchange 2003 servers and started to remove exchange
2003 servers after that. Now it's all come to 2 Exchange 2003 servers. So what we have now:
Server 2003-A has replica of some Public folders, master in Routing group and a lot of other systems still use this server to send messages directly through SMTP.
Server 2003-B only assigned as exchange server in Recipient Update Service (RUS).
I wanted to change RUS properties from Server 2003-B to Server 2003-A and leave it as the last one, but it's impossible. I can't choose another server, can't even pick "Computers" in Objects during search. Also I can't create new RUS for the same
reasons.
Is there any possibility to change RUS from Server 2003-B to Server 2003-A or no at all?What if you click on the Advanced Tab and then Find Now...don't you find Server

Material Ledger Activation in a live environment
Hi Experts,
My client is already in a live SAP environment. So now they would like to activate Material Ledger/Actual Costing to enable the actual cost calculation. I have never worked in an environment where we activated ML in a live system.
The client is considering activating ML for the purpose of actual costing. We are also considering parallel valuations i.e. we would like to use Group Valuations to satisfy group reporting requirement.
Would appreciate if you could provide some insights or guidance on how to do this. Specifically, I also would like to understand the following areas with regards to the above requirements:
1. Timing - should we do this only in a new fiscal year or we can do this at the start of a new period during the year;
2. How can we migrate the actual cost with the right cost components

All your above-said requirements can be fulfilled by activation of ML. Regarding your doubts :
01. Timingu2014As per SAP, there is no time constraint for ML Activation. The ML Activation program i.e., t-code-CKMLSTART will look after all system required settings. The date on which you have activated ML, for all Material Types, the preliminary valuation will become u201CStandard Priceu201D, all the Price/FOREX differences will be accumulated in ML Price differences categories. After the ML month-end activities, system will calculate the average price i.e., Periodic Unit Price (PUP). PUP will be treated as Actual Current Product cost, Month-end Inventory Value of the material. It can also be used as future Standard Price.
02. . How can we migrate the actual cost with the right cost components :
No need of migration of actual cost with right cost components. All Actual Material movements transaction data i.e., Beginning Inventory, Goods Receipt, Goods Issue, Ending inventory will be reflected in ML. The Components are same as per the Product Cost Planning Cost Components which are available in assigned Cost Component structure. These will be reflected in ML Analysis report in t-code-CKM3.

How to keep Track of the Changes after Go live in OM
Hi Experts,
Need one information, after Go Live, PPOME is used by the end users for tracking or updating daily changes. While making he changes do we also need to keep a copy of the changes made in the Development server or it is fine if the changes are seen only in Production system.
If any body has made changes to the existing Organization and Staffing, how do we keep a track of who has done the changes is there any standard report through which we can get the information.

Access the table through SM30. It comes blank as standard. Click "New Entries" and make entries for changes to be tracked. For example, whenever an org. unit changes 002 and 003 relationship, you will make entries like:
01 O 1001 B002 Activate box checked
01 O 1001 B003 Activate box checked
Here, 01 is your active plan version, O is org. unit, 1001 is infotype and B002 and B003 are the subtypes. You can also use * for infotype and subtype which means every change will be logged.
If you then run the report RHCDOC_DISPLAY through SA38, it will pick up all the changes pertaining to B002 and B003 relationship for org. units (in the above example).
Similarly, you can set up this table for other object types.
For more information, follow SPRO>Personnel Management>OM>Basic Settings>Activate change documents and go through the documentation for that node. Also, read up the documentation for the report.
