Changes wont apply to ipod touch

I just wanted to add maybe 4 songs to my ipod and a movie. the syncing would go fine, doing its business. the Free space available would go down like its supposed to after putting more stuff on your ipod. but then when it finished doing its then- instead of having the only 9.54gb os space free on my ipod- it goes back up to 10.88gb free like nothing happened. And the songs arent on there. so i figured maybe the movie was the problem. so i remove the movie. no.
still goes through its 5 minutes of "waiting for changes to be applied" and then nothing happening at all.
any one have any clue why or what is going on? yes, everything is up to date. ive tried restarting itunes, my ipod. restarting the computer. maybe theres something else i need to do but i have no clue.
help?

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.

It sounds like you need to set it up, and that makes sense because you said that its a new iPod. Just go through the steps of setting up a new iPod and you should be good.

I had the same problems following the updater update on my ipod and pc. it became so bad that the mini pod became fried and i brought it back under warranty for a new one (and service charge of about $35 to swap them out!). When I got home I reinstalled all of the software from installation to itunes and it seemed to work. then i updated as prompted to the newer ipod software and got a serious error message again like before on my ipod and off and on recognition on itunes. i erased software again, reset pod a few times, and reinstalled without allowing the ipod updater to do anything to the original software. now it works again. warning against the updater. keep it old and simple.

I have an iPhone 5 and an iPod Touch having the same Apple ID. I want to change the Apple ID on the iPod but don't want to lose the Apps. Can anyone help me? I am new to Apple products.

Trying to follow the directions for changing my apple id on my itouch. I can't signout under settings. It just wants me to give a password for the old account. I do I get out of that and sign out in order to sign back in under the new apple id. All due to a change in e-mails. I've successfully changed the apple id which works for 3 other products in the house: ipad, mac pro and desktop type mac.
When I look at my account in the manage Devices, it has 3 devices associated with the Apple ID and does not list the itouch. It wont' allow me to add a device in this region.
HELP? My itouch helps me to go to sleep at night with hypnosis that is needed from a nasty concussion, so this is a big deal. I would like to back it up on iCloud but have never been able to. I've also hooked up my ipod to my mac pro to try to change in one of the tabs offered there and no luck.
Any help is really appreciated.

App wont install on Ipod Touch

Bought an appfrom Apple Store and downloaded to computer. Connected Ipad, and app installed on Ipad ok. Connected Ipod Touch; computer showed list of available apps; the one I wanted to install appeared with "install" button next to it. XClicked on button and it changed to "will install," but nothing else happened. Clicked on "apply." It went through a synch cycle, but the app still didn't appear on the ipod. No error message of any kind. The button returned to "install."
How doI get this app to install? It was advertized as working on Ipod Touch.

It looks like our Ipod is a very old one. It runs IOS 4.2, and apparently cannot be upgraded to what is required for the app. it would have been nice, though, if trying to install produced an appropriate error message, rather than twiddling its thumbs and doing nothing.
