Changing a html file to a word document

hi there i have just purchased a new imac and installed microsoft office 2011 home and student.
I have made a cv on a web site which then asks you to save as a word document, the problem been is that it downloads the file as a html file so i cannot make changes to it. any ideas on how to convert it from the website to a word document. cheers

Why would you want to see the file as a page in ms word?
And could it be that MSW97 does not support html in the way that it could display the file as a page?

  • How can I change a PDF file into a Word Document

Regretfully, I am Disabled and unable to watch a Tutorial video online. So, I must use this venue to ask a simply question...Is there a way to make a PDF file into a Word Document? OR, how can I type info into a PDF file? Either answer would help me IMMENSELY!

  • Word 2013 - Error inserting an HTML file in a word document

    Hello,
Here is an issue i'm having:
Open a blank doc in Word 2013
Click Insert - Object - Create from file. Then select an html file, click insert and ok.
i'm always getting the below error message:
I can reproduce this issue on multiple machines.
Office 2013 preview and Office 2013 RTM are getting same error.
    Anyone else ?
    Thanks

    Hi Christophe_P,
I’m able to repro the behavior in my test environment as per your repro steps.
An Office repair does NOT impact the issue for me.
I’ll report the issue to the Office product group.
    A possible workaround:
    In a Word 2013 document>Insert tab > Text group > Click Object
In the Object dialog, click the Create New tab
Select Microsoft Word Object; then click OK
In the newly embedded/activated Word doc object, click Insert tab > Text group > Click the Object dropdown arrow; then choose “Text from File…”
In the Insert File dialog, navigate to; then select the html file; then click Insert.

Have converted pdf file into a word document. How do I engage the edit option?

Not stupid you! To, from PDF--it gets confusing!
To edit a PDF file, you need to use Acrobat. Depending on how much work needs to be done to the PDF, it may make sure sense to edit in Word, and then reconvert to PDF. Acrobat doesn't function as a word processor, so while limited changes to the text should be fine, extensive updates may not yield the results you're looking for.
That said, if you don't have Acrobat, you are welcome to try it for free for 30 days. For more information, see www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html.

  • Convert InDesign File to a Word Document

I am trying to convert a file from an InDesign file to a word document and have fallen into a problem. I also have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and have tried to save my InDesign file as a PDF, so far so good. It looks perfect, but when I save the PDF as a .doc all of the text and pictures have moved around and the different frames used in InDesign have joined and there is no way to rearrange the pages like they were originally. I need to convert these pages to Word Perfect so that I can send them out and they can be edited. How can an InDesign file be saved to be used with Word Perfect? I thought if I converted it to a PDF and then to a word, everything would be fine, but the file isn't be converted correctly.

    > How can an InDesign file be saved to be used with Word Perfect?
Short answer is you can't do it easily. Didn't you post this question in
    ID forum awhile back?
If not, it was discussed there and you might want to search there. If it
was you, nothing's changed. What you want to do is just plain work and
you'll never get the same type of layout in a word processor as you will
    in a pagelayout application.

  • Saving a PDF file to a Word Document

Can someone please tell me how to save a PDF file as a word document?  When I do a "save as" with the doc extension, a window pops up that says, "Save as failed to process this document.  No file was created."  Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

Thank you.  I have attached the document that I am trying to save as a word

It should work unless there is an issue with the PDF itself. Can you post
    the
    PDF?
Also, keep in mind that saving to a Word doc from a PDF is far from foolproof.
Here's an article that can explain it better than me (along with some good

  • Cannot search file content on Word document with embedded Excel table

Cannot search file content on Word document with embedded Excel table. I have Windows 8.1 64-bit and Office 2010 Professional. Only phrases from within Excel tables are not searchable. I have many Word documents with embedded Excel table.
I use it for my invoices. Those invoices are converted to pdf to be sent via mail. Searching the same phrases in related pdf files Works fine. And yes, folders are indexed, searching service is active......... For example I can find all invoices that have
specific address or name, which is located in word document, but cannot find invoices with specific item name or price, being that information is in embedded Excel table. (not linked, embedded). I thought that is a question for Windows forum, but guys directed
me here on Office forum. To clarify, I do not use Ctrl+F inside some document, but Windows Search in my folders. Probably the same happens in Office 2013.
    Thank you.

Hi, I have a lot of Word documents (invoices, offers). Main part of those documents is embedded Excel file because it is easier to do mathematics in Excel than in Word. There are columns with description, unit price, quantity, taxes... Now, I need
to find who bought HP switch 2530-24G last year. I open folder with last year invoices and search "2530". Cannot find any. But if that document was converted to pdf for mail, than I can find that phrase. Windows search does not work for content if the content
    is in embedded file.
