Changing Activated Article Hierarchy Structure

Hi Experts,
Is it possible to change Activated Article Hierarchy in IS Retail ECC 6.0.
When i try to do in Tcode: WMATGRP02, system is throwing following Error Message.
"" Only limited changes are possible to active article hierarchies     Message no. RTCMMD058
Diagnosis
    Every change to an active material hierarchy has a direct impact on the
    applications that use the data of an active hierarchy (for example,
    merchandise planning, assortment planning, reporting, etc.)
    Only limited changes to active material hierarchies are possible.
    Changes are only allowed to the material assignment.
    Node assignments can be displayed. ""

hi Selva, I'm curious on how the above has been resolved. I'm new to Retail and would like to get your inputs on whether an active hierarchy can still be changed and if so, what are the steps (trying to add another level to an existing node, e.g. new sub-department under an existing department). Hi All,
I have one requirement at clent site where hierarchy structure changes i.e. parent child relation switches or changes from one level to another level. For example WBS element hierarchy stucture for project 101014 is:
101014--root
101014-1>101014-1-01>101014-1-01-02-->101014-1-01-02-01
after above hierarchy load to bw there are chances that hierarchy nodes change their positions.
i.e.above hierarchy node 101014-1-01 can be removed from parent(101014-1) and assigned to 101014-2.
In Next load Hierarchy need to realign/restructure according to new hierarchy tree from ECC system. Right now we are BW 7.30. Thanks for you help and gurantee of points.

Thanks for quick response, we are running process chain on daily basis which will trigger full load from ECC to BW. I thought the same but when I look below error message I think we need to some how delete hierarchy data and reload with restructed or realigned data. Please find below error details and once again thanks for your help.

The node with the ID 00001564 and the node name 101014-1-02-03 is not used as a child node (field CHILDID) or a sibling node (field NEXTID) by any node in the hierarchy. The node is also not a root node because the ID of the parent node 00001565 (field PARENTID) is not equal to 0. The node is therefore not linked into the hierarchy. Therefore the node is not connected to the hierarchy.
Procedure
This message is displayed in addition to message RH 242. The node is the root node of a subtree that is not connected to the hierarchy. For further details, see the long text for message RH 242.

Diagnosis
The root nodes are the starting point for moving through the hierarchy. The content of the fields NEXTID and CHILDID is used to move from the current node to its sibling and child nodes.
4 out of a total of 13,846 nodes cannot be reached by moving through the hierarchy in this way. These 4 nodes are not connected to the hierarchy.
System Response
The hierarchy is not consistent and therefore cannot be activated.
Procedure
The cause of the problem is usually incorrect links to sibling nodes (field NEXTID) or child nodes (field CHILDID). An incorrect value often means that an entire subtree (consisting of several nodes) is not included in the hierarchy.
To simplify the search for incorrect links, the system identifies the nodes (from all the not connected nodes) that are not used as sibling nodes or as child nodes. These nodes are usually root nodes of subtrees that are not connected to the hierarchy. You can find these nodes in the RH 207 messages that follow.
Try to localize the problem by using the RH207 messages for help. If the hierarchy is loaded from an SAP source system, you can check whether the extracted data is correct by executing transaction RSA3 in the source system. If necessary, check if the data is modified with a user exit. If the hierarchy is loaded from a file, check the contents of this file. The problem might also be due to an error in the transfer rules or in the transformation.

system through below mentioned error .
I tryed to resolve problem as per below mentioned program through se38 , but still getting same error

System Response
An error was found in the attribute hierarchy.
In some cases, it is not possible to display the attribute hierarchy without having to correct the errors first.
Procedure
It is recommended that you run the FIPR_CLEAN_ATTRIBUTES (by using transaction SE38). This report can recognize errors, and it attempts to correct them automatically.
Caution: This report can change your table entries permanently.
Once this report has run, you need to check the hierarchy structure, and make any necessary changes.

Hi,
the realignment (KEND) does not change the line item tables (CE1***, CE2***), thats why they remain unchanged.
The line items in CE1**** can not be changed. If you really want to have new line items (with the new prod. hierarchy) try in test-client if the use of report RKECADL1 and the new transfer to CO-PA for the deleted line items (KE4S, KE4SFI,...) can help you (SAPNET-note 69370 for details).
CE2**** + SQL-error: As per now, I don't have an idea how to deal with that cases.

Report designer error for hierarchial structure on Columns

Hello,
I have a query with a structure in rows and another one in columns. I also have a 0COMPANY hierarchy Dimension within the Columns.
When I insert the data provider into a report designer report, I receive the following error:
"Query contains a hierarchial structure on Column(s)..."
Has any one encountered this issue before? Is there a note or workaround available?

Hi,
the report designer need to have a fixed number of columns. If you have a Hierarchical Structure in the Columns, the number of columns can change. Therefore Report designer does not allow to use this DP in this drill down. You should place the Row structure to the columns and the hier-structure to the rows. then it should work.

I want to understand that How to make Attribute Change run alignment & Hierarchy changes in Aggregate?
I posted previously the same question but there were not good answers and i was not able to understand clearly .....
If there is Process chain XXY which makes Attribute change run for Master Data 0SPELLING ?
Now there is Aggregate TRT which includes :
0SPELLING , Fiscal Period , Purchase Product, Purchase Category ?
Now pls answer following question ?
1) Does the Process Chain XXY which makes only attribute change run alignment for 0SPELLING , Will this process chain automatically do the Change run alignment for 0SPELLING in Aggregate TRT ? YES or NO
2) If Yes, then we are just suppose to do Roll up for Aggregate TRT after Process chian XXY completes and finish job ?
3) If No, then what steps are suppose to be DONE so as to make sure that Aggregate TRT has new values and perfect values for 0SPELLING ?
Please answer and coorect if i have any wrong question....

so do ur aggregates on day1 with same values
now on day2 u had new values of attributes y,z,s,d and new hierarchies and so u add new records
with data load u will load the data with version M of modified and is not available for reporting
If u do attribute change run then this modified version is activated to A i.e. active version .
It will also do the change run alignment for Aggregate for new attribute values and new hierarchy values for aggregate.
now in order for this data to be available for reporting u will need to do the roll up of aggregate.....
if u roll up aggregate before attribute change run , new data is not avaialable for reporting
if u roll up aggregate after attribute change run, then data is available for reporting
if u dont roll up aggregate eventhough new data is in dataprovider, still new data will not be available for reporting.

Activation of Hierarchy

Hi,
We have uploaded pc hierarchies from ISP to IWP on 25.05. Normally the
hierarchies without aggregates should be activated immediately after
the upload and the hierarchies with aggregates should be activated
after we start the change run job.
But until now, after 2 change run jobs are finished, the hierarchies
are still not activated.
Those hierarchies with aggregates should show a "pre-book" button in the
InfoObject when there are modified versions. But we notice that the
buttons are not set for the hierarchies.
I have to manuelly set the pre-book activation manuelly.

We are loading hierarchy weekly.As the hierarchy is using aggregate we cant activate it directly.you need to flag it for activation.This you will be doing in Infopakage.I have checked the flag for automatic activation or flag for activation.So during change run the hierarchy should get activated automatically.Change run gets executed without any errors , but the hierarchy is still not in active state .
Manually I have placed the prebook flag on hierarchy & executed atribute change run , then it worked fine .
It was working fine in SP19 , after upgarding to sp20 there is a problem in attribute change run.

Not to Supress Hierarchy Structure

Hi,
Based on the transaction data available in the cube my hierarchy structure gets changed. I want the structure to be static.
Say for example I have account hierarchy, when I run it for different business area the account hierarchy structure changes as there is no data for that account and business area combination in the cube.
Is there a way to make the hierarchy struture static eventhough if there is no data in the cube the account in the hierarchy should display with zero.

Is there a solution without creating custom hierarchy in the BEx query designer, as I want the hierarchy created in SAP ECC to be leveraged.

you didnt understand my question properly. I know the disadvantage of having static structure in BEx query designer and thats why I asked is there any other solution.

Extracting Article hierarchy

Hi team,
An Article hierarchy is creted in the R/3 side.Can we extract the hieharchy structure into the BW side,so that there is no need of creating the hierarchy structure in the BW again.

Can somebody distinguish the differences between the Article Hierarchy and Merchandise Categotry? Which one is better to use? Both seems to have a similiar functionality but why SAP had proposed Article hierarchy and Merchandise category seperately?

Package Check Error while activating the Appended Structure

A structure is appended to a standard structure. while activating the appended structure its throwing Error called-
<b>Package Check for Table/Structure ZCDPR_BW_BUPA_LINKS</b> .
<b>The object TABL ZCDPR_BW_BUPA_LINKS uses SQLT DPR_BW_BUPA_LINKS</b>.

You can get site-wise list of articles using transaction MM60. But this shows all the articles - active and blocked.
In order to filter blocked articles, you may create an SQVI query between MARA and MARC tables. In the query, include MARA-MSTAE and MARC-MMSTA in the selection screen. They should be set to blank while executing the query to get active articles.

I'm trying to change 'Activity Partner' for an activity using BAPI BAPI_ACTIVITYCRM_CHANGEMULTI. But the function module is giving me an error 'Document could not be saved.'. I'm already calling BAPI_ACTIVITYCRM_SAVE BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT after the main BAPI.

But this is showing grey color and item is active.
Is there any way to change the price in item 10.

Hi,
You need to check your condition type for which you want to make any changes in sales order.
Steps:
1. First go to change mode of condition type for which you want to make any kind of change in the sales order
. ( V/06 )
2. now check whether manual changes are allowed or not.
3. next check mark field "quantity/value " in order to be able to make any changes in sales order.
because unless this field is not check marked you can't do any change. i.e. it will be gray.
I am sure it will solve your problem.
