Changing apple ID in app stores

Anyone know how to change apple ID in app store. It will not let me put in my ID

I have the same problem. I downloaded Yosemite in a user account not realizing that installing it in the useraccount would install it to all accounts.
I went back to my admin to install it there.  When I try to install it it uses the Apple ID for my user account, not the one I want to use.  I went back to delete the download in the user account and I can't delete it without using my admin username and password, however my admin username and password will not work for anything in the user account but it always works when I use it in the admin account.
Does it matter which Apple ID I use to install Yosemite? I'd rather use mine but it will only accept my wifes.

I can' change apple id in app store

What exactly are you trying to do, and on what on ?
If an iOS device then you can log out of an account by tapping on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Store - if that is greyed out then check that Settings > General > Restrictions > Accounts is not set to 'Don't Allow Changes
If a computer's iTunes then you can log out of an account via the Store > Sign Out menu option, and that will then change to Store > Sign In
All apps, and any other content that you download from the store, are tied to the account that downloaded it.

  • How can I change Apple ID for App Store?

I changed my Apple ID, Itunes on my Itouch recognizes it, but the app store does not. How can I change AppleID for App Store? When I try to update my apps it asks for the password for my old Apple ID which does not exist anymore.

Thank you for the reply. I've done that twice and have no problem getting into the ITunes store. Problem is that I have 12 apps that want to be updated. I go to App Store and slect to "update all" and first thing it does is bring up my old AppleID (no place to change it) and asks for the password for that Apple ID.
I tried doing a sync to my computer in case that would work, but no help. I wonder if I will have to do a complete reset just to fix this???

  • Changing Apple ID in App Store

    Hi,
I have an iphone 3 which i have only really used as a phone because I have never bothered to persevere with the difficulty of using the app store to do anything else. This morning i decided I would try to get ebay on my iphone. 3 hours later, no luck.
Ages ago I  somehow have entered my Apple id incorrectly, but I can't make the phone log me out so I can re-enter my correct ID. I have reset the password numerous times, but the phone still uses the incorrect id which I can't change & I can't use. What do I do? As my 2 year contract is nearly up, next step is to chuck this phone & buy a different brand. I am so frustrated with it. People tell me how great they are & what they can do, but I can't even get google on mine because of the stupid app store that won't let me in.
    I need serious help. thanks

Assuming you have purchased no apps and no media with that existing Apple ID, it's best to chuck that instead of the phone, create a new Apple ID (and password), and pretty much start over from scratch. Nothing you need to do to get access to the iTunes Store is difficult, although some things might seem a bit obtuse if you've never done them before.
First, let's get you logged out of the App Store on the phone, and logged out of the iTunes Store on your computer. Phone first:
1- Go to the Settings app, scroll down to the Store icon, tap on it.
2- Look for the words APPLE ID: followed by your current Apple ID name. Tap on that.
3- A popup will appear with several choices. Tap on SIGN OUT.
    Now your computer:
    1- Launch iTunes.
2- Look at the menu bar for STORE.
3- Under the STORE menu, select SIGN OUT.
Go to this web page and create a new Apple ID:
    https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/
Record your new Apple ID and your password somewhere safe - NOT IN SOME NOTE FILE ON YOUR PHONE OR COMPUTER! You don't ever want to forget or lose this, but you don't want anyone to easily filch them, either.
Now sign in with your new Apple ID and password both within the Settings app on your iPhone and within iTunes on your computer.
Look around the iTunes App Store using your computer's iTunes application. Download a free song or two (there are several new free songs available every week) and download a couple of free apps (there are thousands of them - just pick a few for now, you can get the ones you really want later).
Now connect your iPhone to your computer using the USB charge cable.
An icon for your iPhone should appear in the left-hand column of the iTunes window. Click on that.
In the resulting right-hand column of the iTunes window, look for the SYNC NOW button in the lower right corner.
Good luck! It's much easier than all these instructions make it appear at first.
edit: One other thought- You might want to be sure your iPhone is running the latest version of iOS available for it, or at least the last available version of iOS 3. You can do that from the right-hand column of the iTunes window while your phone is connected to your computer.

  • Change apple-id in App-store?

I had to change my apple-id, but the app-store continues to us my old apple-id. How can I change it? Updates and new apps I download  with the appstore allways are registred with my old apple-id. Thats a big problem, because I have forgotten the safetycode.

If you sold your Mac to a stranger or friend, before doing so, your obligation, as per Apple and the Terms of Use for OS X and any apps that you bought (free & paid) from the Mac App Store, is to erase the Mac and install the latest version of the version of Mac OS X that originally shipped on the Mac. If it was OS X Snow Leopard 10.6 or earlier that shipped from the factory on the Mac, you should use the Install DVDs that came with the Mac and reinstall Snow Leopard and then install the latest update combo. If it was OS X Lion 10.7 or later that shipped from the factory on the Mac, you should use OS X Recovery which will install the most recent version of OS X that shipped on the Mac from the factory.

If you recieve a used Mac and this has not been done, you are in receipt of pirated software that you will never be able to update without the Apple ID of the previous owner. The Apple ID is encoded in the licensed copies of the software installed on the Mac, it is in the software's DNA and cannot be legally changed.

  • Changing apple ID for app store updates.

My son's friend put his apple ID in our ipad, and now when i try to update an app, the friend's ID shows up and mine does not.  I do not know how to change it back.

What id shows at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app ? If it's your son's friend's id then tap on it and log out of it and then log back in with your id. But any apps that your son's friend downloaded will be tied to his id, so only his id will be able to download updates to those apps

  • Changed Apple ID, but app store still wants old one

I changed my Apple ID to a new email address because the old address stopped working. However, the App Store still wants my old address and the old ID (email address) and password are invalid. How can I fix this?

iTunes and Mac App STore purchases are forever registered to the Apple ID that bought them. Apple does not transfer purchases from one Apple ID to another Apple ID. Apple does not merge Apple ID accounts. The Apple ID is encoded into the licensed copy that you downloaded to your Mac and that is the only Apple ID that can redownload or update the purchases.
You erred making a new Apple ID. You should have simply changed the primary email address associated with the Apple ID.
Changing the email address you use for your Apple ID -
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5621
It is too late to do that now because you have used your email address to create the new Apple ID. An email address can only be associated with one Apple ID.
There is a very complicated process to reuse the new email address.

  • Cannot change apple id in app store

In "app store" on my iphone 4, I find the icon "Apple ID" is blurred and cannot be pressed. Thus, I cannot change my apple ID (it is previously changed by my friend to his own one and now I cannot change it back!)
Even in "Settings" => "iTunes & App Store", the icon "Apple ID" is blurred and cannot be pressed to change the current apple ID.
Besides, I cannot change the setting in "Privacy"=>"Location Services". It is also blurred and cannot be pressed.
"Face Time", "iCloud" and some more settings also have this problem.
Is it a problem caused by the previous change in Apple ID?
    I am using a iPhone4, ios 6.1.3.
    Thanks.

    Try This...

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

  • Cannot change Apple ID on App Store

My daughter recently used my iPhone 4 to purchase apps. She changed the Apple ID but now I cannot change it back to mine. On Settings>Store, the ID is mine. I logged out, switched off the phone, logged in but when I go to App to update and purchase, the ID is still my daughter's. Appart from the fact that I shouldn't have goven the phone to her in the first place :-)  can somebody please help me?

I discontinued the email I originally used with my iPhone 4. I succeeded in changing it on my computer and on the iPhone, to the one I currently use, but when I try to update some apps - the old Apple ID shows up under Apple ID Password! (Not the actually password)! I have tried everything to try to change it. Like I said, it was successfully changed on my computer and the iPhone. The password is still the same. Any suggestions?

  • HT1311 how to change apple id on app store when you've already changed in settings

i have changed my apple id in the settings but when i got to update my apps its still under a different id how do i sort this out?

That happens because the app you are trying to update was first downloaded with a different ID and apps are forever linked to the ID htat was used to download them.  The only way to fix is to delete the app and download it again with the desired ID

  • How do you change apple ID in app store when default is a .Mac address?

On an iPad I am trying to log in. The dialog box has a default .Mac user I'd. I use my comcast.net email as my ID. Can't see where to change that. Forces me to change my password only. Did that and don't want to do that again.

I have an old .mac iTunes account, it cannot be deleted, I use my new mobileme/iCloud account.
Both passwords are the same so it's easy to switch if any older Apps etc.. need updating..
