Changing Backend Client

Hi,
We have a fully functioning MAU application and everything is running fine.
Now due to some reasons, we have to change the backend client, from say xyz to abc. Everything else is to remain the same.
Now What I want to know is - What is the best approach to be followed in this case?
What is the sequence and steps to be folllowed so as to minimize conflicts in middleware or at the client level.
Waiting for your replies.
Ankur

Hi,
well, I never have done that - so lets come from the theoretical side....
If you change the backend, most likely all R/3 keays of the objects in the backend are different, even the objects are the same. If you have a different object set it will make it even worse.
If that is the case, I guess it is the best thing to empty the complete Replica DB like MEREP_207 on the middleware and run the replicators again. Then do a client reset on all clients and let them sync. Test it first, but most likely this should be the slution with the least impact.
Hope it helps.

Oliver

  • Services in JCo RFC not getting started after Changing the client from 001

    Hi SAP Stars,
I have recently Installed Quality and Production servers with PI 7.1 on windows 2003, Sqlserver 2005, when I'm doing Post Activities(http://host:port/nwa) in which I try to change the client from 001 to 300(newly created) in  JCo RFC(4 services) and start the service it is throwing error when I again change it to 001 client and start the service it is getting started, Could anyone help me in solving this issue same issue I facing in PI 7.1 Quality and Production
    Thanks In Advance
    Anil Kumar

    Hi Anil,
All these JCo RFCs are client specific RFCs.
    Please logon your PI NWA
Choose Configuration Management - Infrastructure- JCo RFC Provider
    Then, Select the RFC
Under Details -> Choose Repository Configuraton
Change the client name to 300 (your new client)
    Save
And repeat the same for all JCo RFC that you want to work for your newly created client.
Please ensure that you are using SAPJSF user & correct password for all these RFCs.
Ideally, these rfcs shuould work now if now please restart your PI  (mostly Java alone also do)
    I hope this helps you.

    hi all ,

    how to correct that.
    thanks in advance.

    hi SG,
first and foremost thing while using field exit is, ask your basis person to include the parameter abap/fieldexit = Y in your instance profile.
Otherwise u can't use the field exits.

  • How to change the Client n user details for a model in Production

    Hello Friends,
I have an application which is calling RFC function module from SAP R/3.
In development system while creating Model I have entered the Back end details like Client, User Name and Password.
If I transport the application into Production, The Client and user name will be different. In this case How would I change the client n user name details.
Do I have import again in Production. But does sounds a good idea.
    ThanQ for Ur time.
    Cheers.. Sam

When you create Model first time, to import Interface of RFC you would need to logon into R/3. But once you are done with the Interface, your connection to R/3 will be determined by the client and UID details in JCo connection.
Now when you transport your code from DEV to QA system, the JCo connection with the same name should be there. or else, you would need to create the same in the new server. I dont see a need to reimport the model. If that is the case, then developers would have to spend huge amount of time doing this job alone.
    Hope this solves ur problem.
    Regards
    Murali.

  • Impact on changing ECC client on the working of ESS business package in EP

    Dear Experts,
We had ESS business package working fine in our EP 7.0 which connected to client 100 of ECC 6.0.
Now we changed to client 700 in ECC 6.0.
Now all is working OK except for the Personal Data piece (address, bank etc).
The first screen shows up OK but when we review it we get the error :
Access via NULL object reference not possible.,error Key:RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE
The user is setup the same way as that in ECC 100.
The JCO is working correctly.Get successful message when we click "TEST".
I have used USER/PWD in both meta data and application data (though it is said to use Ticket and User/Pwd.  It worked with ECC Client 100.)
    Appreciate any inputs
    Thanks.

  • Change Jabber Client language 10.6

    Hi,
is it possible to change the client language to a different language then the windows os?
    Windows: English
    Client: Portuguese
I need change for same language of the operating system.
    Regards,
    Milton Stocco

    Jaime,
I found in another post the information. We have to insert a row: UseLanguageID:1033 in bootstrap.properties file (location: C:\ProgramData\Cisco Systems\Cisco Jabber).
    So it worked perfectly.
    Thank you very much!

  • Changing the Client no in the login window

when i login to the BW Server. The client no is 001. Since i have to login to clinet 100 each time i have to change the client no .
Please let me know whether there is any setting to be changed for making the client no as 100

    Hi Balaji..
I would like to add a little to Phani, if you have multiple application servers and you are always loging to the one perticuler application server just changing the instence profile would be enough(logon groups created). But Balaji you should aware that this change not specific to one perticuler user, once you change the parameter it will be effected to the all the users in that system.

  • Change Jabber Client language

    Hi,
is it possible to change the client language to a different language then the windows os?
    Windows: German
    Client: English
With installing Jabber "/i <msi> LANGUAGE=1033" it does not work.
    Cheers
    Thorsten

    Hi Thorsten and Alberto,
Yes, it is possible to change the client language in the following way: You should run command prompt as administrator (Right click on cmd\Run as administrator) and type: msiexec /i CiscoJabberSetup.msi LANGUAGE=1033 /quiet.
You can also change language when jabber is already installed. Edit jabber-bootstrap.properties file (location: C:\ProgramData\Cisco Systems\Cisco Jabber) and type UseLanguageID:1033.

  • Change ARD Client Ports

I have multiple computers behind a NAT firewall. I know that some routers allow you to map forwarded ports (mine does not).
    eg WAN Port 5901 -> 5900 192.168.1.5
Is there a change I could make to a plist file or to a service to change the CLIENT SIDE ARD ports (I do this all the time with RDP and Windows through a reg hack)?
    Thanks

Sorry, but it's not possible to change the ports ARD uses. For observe/control, you can use a different VNC server that would allow a different port, but for the other functions ARD can use only port 3283. With multiple computers behind a firewall, the best route is usually either to set up a VPN so your admin computer is part of the network, or install ARD on one system on the network and take control of that system via screen sharing to run the ARD admin application.

  • Change NetConnection.client

    Hi all,
I'm working on a project in which i use OSMF (2.0). I have a problem: I need to change the client for NetConnection, because the server calls a method when is connected. I figure it out, I wrote that method in the NetClient class, but I don't want to use it like this. I get the client from NetConnection, using NetConnectionFactory -> NetLoader -> StreamingURLResource, but it's to late than (when NetConnectionFactoryEvent.CREATION_COMPLETE dispatches).
So can somebody points me a solution to this issue?
    Thank you,
    Tibi

    Jaime,
I found in another post the information. We have to insert a row: UseLanguageID:1033 in bootstrap.properties file (location: C:\ProgramData\Cisco Systems\Cisco Jabber).

  • Change the Client that J2EE connects to !

    Hello Folks,
Our J2EE engine seems to be connected to Client 001(j2ee_admin user is actively occupying the sessions). But our active client is different.
How do we change the client that a j2ee engine connects to? We are in CRM5.0
    Thanks

    Hi Senthil,
If you want to just change the client then you have to go to the XCM of your application and follow the following link.
Components -> customer -> jco. here you will see the details of the client which you can change.
But if you want to keep the existing client and create another scenario which will connect to the diffrent client then you have to create a new jco, new Application configuration, new RFC connection. In CRM system you have to check the transaction SRMO.
<b>Allot points if my post helps!!</b>
    Best regards,
    Vikash.

  • How to change the client

    Dear Friends ,
we have a portal and the users are maintained in R/3 that means UME is R/3 .
Now when i have to give the access to the users to use ESS applications they are not bale to view ESS role since the portal is mapper to client where the user is not existing.
Say for Eg : i have checked in system administration-> UME configuration-> where i found client :100
but the users are existing in 200 .
Now my query is in order to access the ESS applications the users which are created in CLIENT 200 has to be configured instead of client 100 .
What are all the places i have to change inorder to map the system to client to 200.
Is that correct that i have changed in system administration->UME configuration->ABAP system tab
    Thanks in advance

    Dear krishna,
    Hope you are doing good.
Inorder to change the UME client:
Login to the configtool->switch to the configuration editor mode->configuration->cluster_data->server-> cfg> services->
Propertysheet com.sap.security.core.ume.service Check the below values:
    ->ume.persistence.data_source_configuration=   dataSourceConfiguration_abap.xml
    ->ume.r3.connection.master.client :
    ->ume.r3.connection.master.r3name :
    ->ume.r3.connection.master.user :SAPJSF (SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICATION should
    be assigned in the backend)
    ->ume.r3.connection.master.passwd: <passwd of the sapjsf user>
Make sure that the J2EE_guest user is present only in the ABAP server (not in the local DB) and has the role SAP_J2EE_GUEST assigned to it. After that restart the J2EE engine. For more info:
Also, make sure that you make the changes in the JCo, else the issue as per the below may occur:
1592158 - Jco Connection fails with RFC metadata retrieved from another server error
Thank you and have a nice day :).
    Kind Regards,

  • Changing Backend Destination

    Dear Friends,
This is regarding the Change of Backend System for a given Data Object / SWCV.
    We have the following setup:
    1. MAU SWCV pointing to Backend System - ISU1
    2. Data and Development Activities are happening from Client - MI - ISU1.
We plan to point the MAU SWCV to ISU2 ( after running a doe cleanup for MI - ISU1).
Am i missing something in the above process?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Suresh BJ

    Hi Suresh,
As i have understood your problem, you want to change the backend system ..right??If so then you can go to the configurations on the portal and under "backend configurations", there is a configuration named "BACKEND_DESTINATION" .
Just put the new RFC Name corresponding to system ISU2.
Also make sure that you have the bapi function modules copied from ISU1 to ISU2 with the same name.
I hope this would help ou.
    Thanks & Regards
