Changing iTunes accounts

Several years ago I sold an iMac, deleting personal files but leaving some programs and my iTunes library. The current owner is unable to access iTunes store since it is in my name. My ISP used in that account has changed so I can't access it either. How can I get the new owner an account in iTunes & delete mine? Thanks!

I have a similar question. My first apple ID uses an email account that no longer exists. I'm migrating music from a MacBook Pro to a new MacBook Air. When I try to migrate albums that were imported directly from the CD, I get a request to authorize the computer using the original and no longer active Apple ID. I don't know the password and can no longer access the account. Why, when the music came from CD, does iTunes say it's not authorized.
Can I merge the original account?

Why would you make a new itunes account?
All of your purchases will be tied to the account from which they were purchasd. You will need to authorize your computers for that account.

How do I change my Itunes account for apps? When I go to update my apps, it still has my old account (my password does not work) and I have since created a new account (divorce issues). I just got my first Macbook Pro (YAY!!), and after fiddling around with it for a couple of days I would like to take advantages of the features of syncing with iCloud in my new hardware and my iPhone 4 (basicly clean up account stuff and enable stuff like Photostream).
I have two Apple ID's.
My [email protected] is used on my new Macbook Pro for iCloud: contacts, calendars, bookmarks, photostream, doc's and data and Find My Mac. It is also used on my iPhone 4 for contacts, calendars, reminders and Find My iPhone.
My [email protected] is used on my Macbook Pro for Mail & Notes, Calendars and Chat. It is also used on my iPhone 4 for iCloud: contacts, calendars, reminders, bookmarks, photostream, doc's and data and Find My iPhone.
To me it seems like my two Apple ID's are contributing with the same things from multiple sides etc. My hotmail used to be my primary email, but I've changed and started using google's services more (especially mail, notes, contacts and calendar). I would like to remove hotmail as primary mail from my devices and use my gmail account as primary instead, and at the same time of course redirect my visa from my hotmail iTunes account to my gmail Apple ID. I will still add my hotmail to get the mail in my iOS and OSX mail native mail programs, but only as a "secondary" account attachment.
I've been reading about these topics of merging multiple ID's as well as the answer to this question https://discussions.apple.com/message/16400957#16400957 , but I can't figure out where to start and what to do. Can anyone please help me, let me know what to do, in which order or point me in the right direction?

Changing iTunes account on iphone

I purchased a used iphone and did a restore to factory settings but when I still connect to the app store it brings up the previous owner's email address. I put the correct account in iTunes on the computer and synced. New apps were added on the sync but you can't from the app store on the phone.

If that doesn't help, you could try Settings -> General -> Reset -> Erase All Content and Settings and then restore and sync the phone again.

I have just had a replacement iPad 1 as my last one packed up. I set it up on my husbands mac and it has added all his email/iTunes to it. I want to use my iTunes account and email but cant work out how to change it now. Any help greatly appreciated.

Go to "settings" and scroll down to "store". Here you can log in with your itunes account.

I have read virtually all of the previous questions on this and, either I don't understand them or the answer isn't here. I have had an iTunes account since day one with my Mobile Me account name, but the account on my iPhone and maybe even my iPad is another email address (which is mine, but not the Apple id). I need to tell my iPhone and iPad that the Mobile Me address is the correct one. I think it is because of this that I have had trouble updating new iTunes releases, like 4.3.3. Could you tell me how to change the iTunes address on the iPad and iPhone to the Apple address on my iMac. Thanks

You can't, and it is illegal for you to keep those apps or for the previous iPhone owner to transfer them to you. First time you try and sync, they will be erased from your phone, as they should be.

Odd situation. We have emigrated and our mac is happily travelling by boat to Australia. We have also just bought an iphone.
Problem is that I have cancelled the credit card that is associated with the itunes account so need to change it to a new card, but don't have my mac. Is there a website in Apple where I can change this, or can I do it on any other mac? Don't want o make life complicated for me when I reset the old mac up.

The iTunesID can stay what it is, even if you do not have the same email. It is simply the name of the iTunes account.
Change the email used in the iTunesID. In iTunes, select Store then click on the Account name at top right.
Select View account and update your email address.

No. For whatever reasons, Apple has not made this available to do. I think they should.

Sure you can share purchases and you can share one iTunes library on one computer. I did that with my family for a couple of years. We all still share the one Apple ID for purchased content, but we all have our own MacBook Pro laptops now so we have maintain our own iTunes library.
Let me clarify a couple of things. Sharing one computer isn't the same thing as the whole family using one Apple ID for purchases. And, you can all have different Apple IDs for iCloud and still share one Apple ID for purchases.
Why don't you explain exactly what you want to do and explain why you want her to have her own ID.

I've recently moved from Ireland to the Uk. Unblocked my phone changed supplier etc and all is fine. However when trying to change my iTunes account from Ireland to uk it keeps defaulting the address to Ireland - regardless if I input my uk address.
I have 9¢ left on my Irish account but it won't let me do anything, I just want to start using iTunes uk!
So my question to you all - how do I change my iTunes account from Ireland to uk? If I need to use a new email will I lose all my apps?

I searched but didnt see anything specific.
Is It possible to change the iTunes account after the iPhone has been activated through iTunes with AT&T? For example, I have an iPhone now, but say I wanted to use a different iTunes account can I change that without reactivating, or will I have to reactive the phone all over again just to change the account?

The AT&T activation of the iPhone and your iTunes account are two different things. The only issue with creating a new iTunes account is that if you have any music/videos synced to the iPhone, you will get a warning if you try to sync the iPhone to this new library. If that is the library you want, then you can choose to delete the music from the first library. You will not have to reactive the phone.
