Changing Service Providers O2 to Vodafone.....

My iphone 3g contract has expired and I'm going to get a new iphone 3gs with a new service provider. My current iphone 3g is backed up on my itunes. If I plug in the new 3gs phone to itunes to activate it, can I get the old iphone 3g texts / contacts etc transferred to my new phone? Are there any pitfalls that I need to be aware of?

any idea if the apps that I bought within my O2 contract will be transferrable to the new contract with Vodafone - I suppose techncally they were bought through itunes.....so there should not be a problem?

If you port out a day or two before your bill closing date, you owe nothing more to Verizon. If you port out say 3 days after your due date then you lose 27 days of service.
Plan accordingly.

I'm switching service providers and cannot take my email address with me. 2 Questions:
1. If I stop synching with my current provider, will NO email show up in my email box for that account, or will it save the current emails.
2. How do I extract the email addresses/address book so that I can send a mass email to my contacts that i'm changing my email address?

Generally speaking, witnin 30 days this will be so.

Those should remain in AB, as all eMails should depending on account type... is this old one POP or IMAP?

IPad and service providers

I am going to buy an iPad and want to add it to my existing service plan with AT&T. I will be switching to Verizon in November though when my 2 year contract with the iPhone is up. Will there be any compatibility problems with my iPad when I change service providers from AT&T to Verizon?
Also, does anyone know if I can just add iPad service to my iPhone service with AT&T - I don't have to sign up for a new contract for a long time, do I? I hope this makes sense. Thanks for your experiences!

You can't use an AT&T iPad on Verizon, or vice versa - they use different hardware and are not compatible.

I changed internet providers and email accounts. I have managed to set up a new Apple ID but my I-phone is not recognizing it.

I recently changed internet providers and thus had to set up a new email account. I managed to change my Apple ID but my I-phone 4S is not recognizing it. It still brings up the old user ID. I am also unable to retrieve Windows Mail (also wants old info) I synced my phone. What else can I do?

I have used this method, but the dog gone service does not return a started status. It just keeps saying starting even after the service starts.

1. I'm no fan of windows and I prefer Solaris or Linux
2. Windows should have this tool as a part of the OS so I don't have to go hunt for it

You would have to ask the carrier your currently on to unlock your phone -if they provide that service, then you can use another carrier.

If WiFi, have you changed the WiFi encryption method or WiFi password? If so, each device need the new information netered into it manually to get onto your "new" WiFi Network.

European 0800 service providers

Hello,
I have sales office in Germany which services all of Europe. Occasionally I'll receive a complaint from one of our German reps that a gov't agency has blocked 00 calling patterns so in effect these customers will not be able to contact our reps. This is mainly a UK / France issue. Seeing as normal European toll-free numbers start with 00800 (call pattern blocked), I need to source a 0800 provider which can forward calls to our German phone numbers. I would prefer a single carrier who can register 0800 numbers in all EU/European countries.
I have found a few options online, but its difficult to tell what level of service they provide (quality, reliability), and I definitely don't want to have to go through a process of changing our 0800 numbers once they're out in the wild. Our ITSP in Germany has provided an option, although I'm not sure which upstream carrier service they are using and their monthly costs are high.
If anyone has worked with any specific 0800 service providers or has any suggestions please let me know.

Not without finding someone (or tools) to reflash your phone with the other operator's firmware (phone software), or generic/retail firmware.
You should still be able to get the other operators network settings, etc., even if you can't remove the first operator's stuff.

Trace service providers in InDesign debug

Is there any provision to trace all service providers in InDesign debug version?
When I perform some action in debug version I want all the service providers that gets called.

Yeah, there's no easy way to package up the fonts unless you use Art Files or Scoop. From "Find Font..." you can then go to the finder and search for the fonts you've used. If it's only a couple, it's not too bad. Just make sure you get the right versions... (I know I have about 20 faces of Futura...)
If the service provider isn't going to be making any changes to the copy, then there is really no reason not to outline the fonts.
Outlining fonts changes them from text to shapes, treating them just like any other shape in your file, removing your ability to edit text (so it should be one of the last steps in your pre-flighting of a file) and it guarantees that what you send the printer is what you'll get back.
Keep a live (not outlined) copy of all your files for future use and send the printer an outlined version.
Or, if this is something you're going to be doing a lot of, and you don't want to outline the fonts, look into Art Files or Scoop. I know Art Files is only like $50, and it works great.

OSPF between Multiple MPLS Service Providers

One of my customer currently connects to three different MPLS providers. All the SP's PEs are already configured with the customer's subnets, but the CE is configured to point only to one of the PE as the default route. If the link to this SP is down, the customer need to manually change the default route to point to another SP.
How can I enable dynamic routing, e.g. OSPF, to all the of service providers? What is required from the service providers to enable this?

A better understanding of the full topology, such as all the branches that this CE is talking to, and via which of the SPs they are reachable via would help.
I do not see much problem, more especiall, if you take the pains to configure the routing protocol on the CE to only advertise the local subnet and not other subnets learnt by it.

Multiple SAML Service Providers

Is it possible to have multiple SAML 2.0 service providers configured per Weblogic domain or are separate domains required? If it is possible I assume each SP would need its own WL server within the domain. We are looking at ways of using Weblogic to handle saml authentication from multiple apps with each app configured as a SAML 2.0 Identity Provider on ADFS.

Just so you know, having a second AXL service provider is supported by Cisco. Just check out this section of the Installation Guide for UCCX 9x.
In the Cisco Unified CM Configuration window, the Cisco Unified CCX 9.0(1) AXL Service Provider Configuration area for a Unified CM Cluster setup displays a list of IP addresses of the AXL Service Providers sorted by priority, where the Unified CM Publisher is listed first followed by the Unified CM Subscribers. During the AXL Service Provider Authentication in the Unified CM Cluster deployment, the priority is given to the Unified CM Publisher. However, if the Unified CM Publisher is offline or not available, the next available Unified CM Subscriber is chosen for user authentication. You can also change the priority of the AXL Service Providers, if necessary, by selecting the IP address of an AXL Service Provider in the list and clicking the up and down arrow.Note As per the Unified CM design, even if the Unified CM Publisher is listed after a Unified CM Subscriber, the system will use the Unified CM Publisher for authentication. However, if the Unified CM Publisher is offline, the Unified CM Subscriber will use its own database to authenticate.

Any Competent Apple Service Providers?

Trying to get my Pismo repaired by competent repair shop has gone from bad to bizarre. I sent it back to shop in Alabama back in July; I paid the shipping as they refused to. Sent back to me still not working. Caps Lock and Num Lock lamps come on but HD doesn't power on.
Same old story from the beginning. 2 shops and $500 later (6 trips to the various shops) and I still have a non functioning Pismo. The first shop was local and had a crap reputation to begin with. I hadn't used them in years and had changed hands (was sold to the techs). SOS. Had read good reviews about the Alabama shop; thinking they were written by their own employees! Will try shop in Columbia, SC next.
Everything replaced to date:
New HD (120GB, 5400 rpm)
New expansion bay CD/DVD RW
'Refurbished'(?) 500mhz daughter card
Anything else I'm not aware of?
Local factory owned Apple Store says it's too old for them to repair. I'm starting to wonder if the unit becomes too old for the factory owned store to repair then it's a complete write off?
Tiger installed in the Kihei working well; could benefit from a larger, faster HD though. Penryn w/ Leopard installed a champ as usual.

Thanks for the positive comments. Going to give Wegener another shot. Phone conversation with them yesterday didn't inspire confidence unfortunately. Am I a complete fool? I'm starting to feel like one. Can't recommend PBM at all as they have been less than forthcoming right from the start. TCR in Charlotte? They've never had a good rep IMO.
Pismo ran like a champ while I was loading software. Quick and quiet! Pismo has a good rep for being sturdy and easy to repair. I do understand that intermittent problems are the worst to diagnose but the training regimen and oversight for 3rd party Apple service providers is completely lacking - not good. Love Apple products but shouldn't have to throw them away once the warranty runs out.
BTW, sign inside of Wegener shop stated they were a division of Daystar Technology.

I can't reconnect with my printer after changing internet providers

I have a HP Photosmart D110. I changed internet providers and I can no longer print. I re did the web services on the printer but print jobs remain pending on the web page. I deleted and reentered the printer still no luck.
Any solutions?

I believe this printer is supposedly working wirelessly with your computer, right?! We need to reconfigure the printer using the new wireless settings since the printer is still configure using the old one. Simply run the installation disk then select reconfigure wireless, or you can go to START>PROGRAMS>HP>HP PHOTOSMART D110>and then ADD A DEVICE. Follow the prompts that will display on your computer screen, it may ask you to temporarily connect a usb cable from printer to computer to reconfgure.
