Changing title in "project info" keeps titling DVD "My-Great-DVD"

There was an unanswered topic by this name which has been archived so I couldn't respond to it.
When changing the name of your DVD in the iDVD "project info" window, be sure to have NO SPACES or odd characters in the name. Letters, numbers, and underscores are OK. If you have spaces, iDVD should automatically replace them with underscores. However, if you already had a name, or once had the default name of "MyGreatDVD", and then change it to "The Name I Want", iDVD reverts to "MyGreatDVD" when burning the DVD, because it has underscores, which it likes, and "The Name I Want" does not have underscores, which iDVD doesn't like. If you replace "MyGreatDVD" with "TheName_IWant" (with underscores) your new name should stick.
How many blank discs have you burned through trying to troubleshoot this?

I have to say I have never had a problem with my own titles reverting to 'My Great DVD' when burned, but then, I haven't changed the title in Project Info either. However, the title in the Project Info is NOT the title I use when burning my movies to iDVD. I change the title on iDVD's main screen to whatever I want, and that is the title that is burned onto the disk.
Where are you seeing the reverted title on your burned DVD?

Three issues here.  The pre-pending is useless when selecting songs to play, plus it.takes up much of the admittedly limited space in my on-screen menu.  Since it doesn't help me select a song to play, it simply prevents more relevant info from being displayed in that area.  However, there is a second area on the menu that is designed to list title, artist and album but those fields are blank - despite I-tunes inclusion of the info in the xferred files.
    JCP,
Regarding the tags, on an MP3 CD iTunes simply burns whatever is embedded in the MP3 file.  From your description, it sounds like the Onkyo is seeing the filenames but not the tags, which does seem strange.  You may want to try the question in an Onkyo forum.
If you don't need the pre-pended serial number, and don't care about the sequence, you can burn from iTunes as a data CD instead of an MP3 CD.

I didn't notice this problem until after the DVD was burned in iDVD.  Then, when I played the DVD in a public setting, I was a bit embarrassed by what played.

    Hi
    My first thoughts are
    • iMovie ill behaving - Trash the iMovie pref file - use to set things right
    • in reg. to Photos - Did You change iPhoto Photo Library - Then iMovie get's lost as it peeks into iPhoto on start up to see where photos are stored. Set iPhoto back to first Photo Library (when iMovie is not running) then start iMovie.

  • Can I change the background color of the title " Knock Out" ?

    Hello,
I am facing a problem with editing the title background, the original title background seems to be set as" transparent" or "black" , while I need it not to be black, but make it white or into any other color...
I tried to copy the title "Knock Out" and edit in Motion 5, added a triangle as big as the background and put it on the bottom, but seems it's not working with such method...
Then I tried to change the player background into white ( in the menu of prefernces) , it turned out to be white " sometimes" when I do a playback test... but when I export it into a quicktime movie, it remain the same black background... Anyone know how-to? Thanks in advance!

    Hello, Andy
Thanks for your help, I tried to do the same thing, putting a custom generator underneath the title, but seems it's not working... I guess like what Tom said, it's transparent, and if I put a color underneath it, it became all white... like what I show on the photo
The problem is that this method helps for any other titles, but not for the title" Knock Out", coz when we put knock out on our film, the text color will be all depends on your film, and placing a custom background to it will end up the text beccoming the exact same color of the custom background...  but what I need is to keep the text transparent as what it was, so that i can show the film thru the text... at the same time, the background should be white... Any ideas? It's bugging me:(
    Thanks for help anyway!
The first photo was putting a custom background, but it showed up all white
The seconf one was what I need, but all I can do is change the payer background to white... and it end up the same black background when I export it...

    Hi
This Q is close to - Something is wrong. What's it ?
You have to supply much more info to be able to start guessing.
    • What material was used ? Video codec, Audio file format and Photo file format
    • Free space on Start-Up hard disk. How much ?
    • Brand of DVD used ?
    • Type of DVD used ?
    • Burn speed set down or not ?
    • Version of iMovie, iDVD'11 v 7.1.2 (OK), QuickTime and Mac OS ( X.6.8 I read ? )
And all extra info You can supply - that set's us on track.

  • How to change the template of all my title pages

    ok i made a film using cs4
with 20 seperate title pages all the title
pages started from the same title template
what i want to know is :-
is it possable to change the properties of all the title pages at the same time
for instance change the font / or font colour of all titles with one or two clicks
rather than me go through each title page separately
    cheers

    ok
so are you saying that in the future
if i was to make all my titles from THE SAME template AND using the "based on current" function
i would then be able to make adjustments to the first title in the project panel and the adjustments would be reflected on all titles  throughout the timeline

  • Titles on linked Pr sequence not appearing on Encore DVD?

I have a sequence linked from Pr pro CS5 to Encore CS5. I have added titles to video track two in the Pr sequence. They link up just fine in En. When I preview disc in En, the titles come in and fade out just as planned. All looks great. However, when I burn the project to DVD, there are no titles on the DVD??? I saved the Pr project, even rendered it prior to creating DVD in En CS5. I have done this process twice. Both times no titles on DVD. What am I missing??
Thanks very much for advice. This is a once a year project, so sorry I have to re-learn many things again...and again.
    Kenny

    UPDATE:
Anyone have any ideas of things I could test? As I stated, the disc when played in my PC shows the titles, just not on two different stand alone DVD players I have?
Stan, you mentioned source/sequence settings? Is there something specific I could provide?
So you know what I did to create these titles. In Pr, working with the sequence I have dynamically linked to En in the timeline. In Project panel, new item, title. Then edit title and drag to video track two in timeline, set keyframes for fade in/out.
To make my next title, in title edit window, New Title Based on Current Title, rename it, edit, drag that to timeline etc.
These titles show in En when previewing disc and on burned disc played on PC as stated.
    Stuck in the mud?
    Thanks for any/all suggestions!
    Kenny

Subject: Titles on linked Pr sequence not appearing on Encore DVD?
I would build to a folder and see if that plays correctly on the computer.  (Rule out disk/burning issues.)
Do a small test project if the files are large, but bring the same bit out of Premiere with no fades on the titles.  Do they burn?
I wonder about your source/sequence settings.
I always find such problems very odd.

  • Title template that updates all titles if it's changed

    Hi!
In Premiere Pro, can I create a title template that, if I change it, will update all the titles in my project that use that template?
    Thanks!

That is one reason that making titles by animating the source text in After Effects comes in handy. You can change anything you want and the text just changes at the right times.

  • HELP: Burning double layer DVD does not work as expected by project info

    Hi,
I have the following problem: I created an new project in iDVD and choose the following settings in the project info: Video-Modus=PAL, Coding=HighQuality, Format=16:9 and DVD-Typ=DoubleLayer. When I saved the project and open it again the project info dialog shows me the following amounts of used space: 1867 MB DVD-ROM, 4595 MB Diashows, 128 MB Menus, 0 MB Film, alltogether 6,48 GB and 200 minutes of duration.
NOW: When I choose to burn the DVD it first tells me that I need to use a double layer DVD because the project is too large to be burned to a normal DVD. If I press OK (having inserted the DL-DVD), I am back in the standard iDVD editing mode. If I then have a look to the settings in the project info it is as follows: 3733 MB DVD-ROM, 4595 MB Menus, 128 MB Menus, 0 MB Film, alltogether 8,31 GB and still 200 minutes of duration. This obviously does not fit to the 7,7 GB DL-DVD so I cannot make iDVD to burn my DVD...
QUESTION: What happend ? Why doubled the DVD-ROM space ? In fact what I can see is that there are several diashows doubled and even lots of picture more than once on the DVD. Could it be that there is a trash somewhere implemented ? I cut and pasted some of the diashows to a different place on the DVD...
    Thanks for answers and support.

In fact what I can see is that there are several diashows doubled and even lots of picture more than once on the DVD.
Do you mean "slideshows" instead of diashows?
Did you add anything to the dvd-rom section of the DVD? If not, you may want to check this section to see what's going on.
Also what does map view look like? Does it show anything that may have been duplicated?
Please tell us your current ecoding settings.
In other words, is the encoding set to Best Quality, Best Performance, or Professional Quality?
Lastly, is this Dvd made up of of only slidesshows / images? Or did you also add a movie/s with actual video footage? And if so, what is the total playback / run time of this Dvd in hours and minutes? (keep in mind iDvd doesn't look at size/s but rather total QT playback in minutes; not to exceed 120 mins per SL Dvd-R and twice that amount for DL media).

  • ITunes CDs -not title or track info is on cd

I can create CDs from iTunes but can't find why iTunes doesn't also save the title and track info on the burned CDS. I wanted to create a CD backup of my iTunes but now have CDs with unknown titles and unknow tracks

I suppose you are burning AudioCDs: Track information are simply not part of CDDA definitions.
I order to backup your audio tracks without loosing any information switch iTunes burning preferences to DATA CD/DVD.

  • Create a Fully Integrated Layout & Remove Site Info, Site Title, Etc.

Hey everyone. I'm really new to Lightroom so this may be something really simple I overlooked. How do you get rid of extra fields in the lightroom templates that you don't want, specifically the site information?
I want to create a flash gallery that integrates fully into my website. I want it to be a page with just the thumbnails in a simple grid pattern where when you click the thumbnail the full image pops up over the screen (the way it would if using javascript).
I don't want anything else. No slideshow, no site info, no title bar, none of that, because this is going to be inserted into a page on my website. It's not going to be its own site.
Is there a way to create a completely custom template like that with Lightroom or are you stuck using layouts based on their designs?

To remove the headers, etc. once the gallery has been created edit the file called style.xml, found in the resources>styles folder of your created gallery. There are true/false entries for things like the header. You can also change the fonts, etc. with more control than is afforded from within LR.
The two lines you're looking for are
    (line 57)
    (line 64)
    Change true to false
As far as achieving the exact configuration you've described, I don't believe it's possible in LR. LR doesn't offer a thumbnail grid to big pic and back kind of scheme. It would be nice. I did a search a while back and there weren't many Flash gallery scripts designed this way. I think the Jet Photo script does it.
Of course there's all the lightbox type javascripts. The TTG Slimbox has been ported to LR, but it's javascript.

  • Title Color: How to Keep it the Same?

I am a transitioning FCP 6/FCE 4 user.  In choosing a text fill color, I see how to choose it with the eyedropper cursor, but I don't see any way to keep it the same from one text item to the next. Trying to choose the same one with the dropper is very hard to do.  In the older FC versions, you could save a color to reuse on a new item, but I have not found a way to do that in FCP X.  Searching the manual has not helped.  Any ideas?
    Horst

At the very top of the Text Inspector, there's a banner that usually says: Normal. If you design your title with specific fonts, colors, styles, etc. you can save that as a Preset (e.g. Save All Format + Style Attributes).
    However, I find that annoying.
What I'll usually do is design one title, then option drag the title to make duplicates, then simply change the text in the copies.

  • Can I change the geographic location in a title?

I am using the Modern Theme in iMovie 11 for Mac to edit videos taken with an iPhone 5. The theme is automatically displaying the filming location on the title but is showing the filming location as "Great Britain". I can't seem to edit this.
So, sorry if this is covered elsewhere . . . How can edit the title text or get the correct location shown (I am making an assumption that the iPhone video includes the required GPS data)? Just seeing Great Britain on the title isn't helpful when the majority of my videos are UK based.

    Found the answer.
I need to select the title, click on "Adjust", click on the "T" and then click on the globe to change the location. Obvious really.
