Charged for services I cancelled in 2008

Hello I was thinking of returning to BT for phone and broadband but now I'm not! I cancelled my service with BT in Nov 2008 and moved all services apart from line rental to Sky. On Sunday I had our accounts checked and found that BT have been charging me for Evening and weekend call plans and caller I'D since. Due to me being with Sky I have been on their equivalent plan so obviously not being able to access the BT Service which I actually cancelled! BT have taken over £6 out of bank account every month. I know that I have only just found this out but nevertheless I want refunding for srvices that have not been available to me. I left BT in the first place because of appalling customer service. Nothing has changed. they called me today to say that it's their policy that they will refund me 1 months payment. I refused this offer. She then said that they will pay 3 months. Again I have refused. She has now said that it needs a Manager to speak to me!

Hi Noffy,
Welcome to the forum.
Did you get speaking to a manager? If you want I'll take a look at your account, please email in your forum username and BT account details to the email address registered against my profile page (under "about me").
Thanks,
Stephanie

  • I cancelled my service, was charged for service which was not provided, and I am unable to find a way to dispute or to pay my bill.

To begin, what ADA-compliant options are available to work with a service representative? I've never found the online chat service support to be available during my waking hours after checking over the last week. I can't find a contact email for support, either. I've been instructed on several occasions that I will need to make a voice call for customer service, but unfortunately, this will not be possible. I will require text-format assistance from customer support to address two issues which I am unable to solve on my own:
    1) I was charged for service following the cancellation of my service; this includes a period following cancellation during which no service was provided. After working with a representative in person, I was told that my final bill would be adjusted to reflect the legally billable amount. This was three weeks ago and I haven't received a response, and I haven't been able to find a way to pursue a resolution - What can I do to help move this process forward?
    2) It appears I will be unable to pay my bill after this dispute has been reviewed. My phone number is no longer with Verizon. The online bill payment login requires a phone number - I have never been provided with any other account number. Unfortunately, Verizon appears to close access to online bill payment when the phone number is transferred, even to accounts with unpaid invoice amounts. How can I pay my bill online?

    1) I was charged for service following the cancellation of my service; this includes a period following cancellation during which no service was provided.  Service is normally billed through the end of the billing cycle, whether service is provided or not.  "Cancellations will become effective on the last day of that month’s billing cycle, and you are responsible for all charges incurred until then." After working with a representative in person, I was told that my final bill would be adjusted to reflect the legally billable amount. According to their legal docs, the "leagally billable amount" is through the end of the billing cycle. How can I pay my bill online?  You cannot pay online once the account is cancelled.  You will be mailed a paper copy of the final bill, and you can mail a check, or possibly call in and pay over the phone.  But online is no longer an option once the account is cancelled.

  • Was not informed of new policy when signing up for service and charged for services I did not knowingly agree to.

I’m writing to contest a $29.99 monthly charge, which is contracted for 24 months amounting to $720 in total. The charge is for a data plan which I did not knowingly agree to, and verizon is unwilling to remove from the account even though the phone on the line does NOT use data.
    The backstory of the issue:
On September 19, 2014 I waited in line at an Apple store to purchase a new iPhone on launch day.  I opened a new basic line of service for $9.99 a month on my account so I could purchase a discounted phone from Verizon. When purchasing the phone, the representative explained that he was going to have to put a basic data package on the line for $15 a month, but that it would be removed once I transferred the phone to an existing line on the account.  After the purchase was complete, we transferred the phone to an exisitng line, and the represented confirmed that the data package would not be charged to my account and therefore I would only have to pay $9.99 a month for the basic line of service for two years. A couple weeks pass and I receive my bill, I notice that the data plan is still listed on my account and has also increased to $29.99 a month!  I call Verizon to see what is going on, they tell me that they have just implemented a new policy that states if I purchased a smart phone on a basic account and then transfer the phone to a differnt line that I will have to pay $29.99 a month for data even if the new phone that is currently on the line does not use data! I told them I was not informed of this, and was actually told the complete opposite when signing up for service.  They refuse to remove the data package, and will not let me cancel the account without charging  me $350.  The representative on the phone said that the representative in the store was a sales person and most likely did not have the training to inform them of the new policy change, and that they could not honor what he told me.
I should be able to rely on and trust what a Verizon wireless representative is telling me, I was not aware of the new policy and did not knowingly agree to this policy. And in that case, I would like to point out that I have been a loyal Verizon customer for over 15 years humbly request that you clear this $29.99 monthly charge from my account as a gesture of good faith.
I have spent over 7 hours on the phone with verizon trying to get this resolved to no avail. I have also filed a complaint with the attorney generals office, and plan to persue this until it is fully resolved.

    Customer Agreement | Verizon Wireless
This agreement and the documents it incorporates form the entire agreement between us. You can't rely on any other documents, or on what's said by any Sales or Customer Service Representatives, and you have no other rights regarding Service or this agreement.
They gotcha! And that policy change was listed here and other places on the net.
Its either pay that or the early termination fees.
Verizon will not grant you a mistake forgiveness clause.
If they do it for you they would have to do it for everyone.
    Good Luck

  • Charged for services cancelled multiple times, refusal to refund/credit

Since there is no way to reach anyone besides base-layer customer service via phone or chat, they send us here as if we can help each other get our bills fixed.
I am sick of having to activate and deactivate global data services when I am planning to the leave the country. I have nothing but problems with this process. I continue to be billed when I've scheduled an end to the service AND then called to cancel upon my return on last two occasions I used it! it's a total scam. They refuse to remedy charges even though they can see I wasn't out of the country for 5 months! I just went to add the service for February and was told it was STILL on my account from August and they "could not remove the charges" and that I should have looked at my bill. No matter how I explained that I DID look at my bill and CALLED to AGAIN remove the service, he refused to  could care less that I've been overcharged for months.

have you ever accessed your account above under My Verizon link?
to me that would be the best way  to keep track of it.. you can add the service and delete from that section.. you will also have the benefit of all transactions being logged under the history tab..
if you go there now,, does it show when you added and when you called in once you were back state side?
I would look there and see how much information you have .. and maybe start using that as your point of contact for making account changes..
and yes it is frustrating when you think you have taken care of any thing that is costing you to later find out it is still billing.. and it is hard to follow removing a service that runs by billing cycle due to the fact that we are normally contacted after the bill is issued ... but by using the above you have more control and the ability to track changes
    hope that helps

  • How to put additional charges for Service in Different Accounts

    Dear SAP Colleagues,
I am trying to make a PO for Air Tickets i.e. Purchase of Air Ticket.
I need to put Base Price, Airport Tax and Airport Passage as conditions in ticket and when I do MIRO it needs to be put into separate accounts when accounting document is generated.
I thought of using Material with Mat Type DIEN or Service (Item Cat = D)
    1. I configured the pricing procedure and assigned condition types for Airport Tax as well as Airport Passages (Fixed Amounts in both the cases).
    2. Attached Acc Keys for Airport Tax (ZAT) and Airline Passage (ZAP) to the Condition Types.
    3. Defined the corresponding accounts for ZAT and ZAP in OBYC.
However for DIEN as well as Service Items, it asks for mandatory Account Assignment Category (so I am using K)
However once I assign the Account Assignment Category as K, system ignores setting in the Pricing Procedure --> Acc Key --> OBYC --> G/L Account setting and it puts Credit to Customer and Debit to External Services account (A/C that is assigned in the Account Assignment tab in PO)
    1. My query is which Material can be used?
    2. If Service Master is used, what are the additional settings.
    3. How should I change the config so that it considers settings in Pricing Procedure --> Acc Key --> OBYC.
    Thanks and Regards,

    Hello pebble,
I want to begin with apologizing for my delayed response to your post, Best Buy greatly appreciates the fact that you’ve been a loyal customer. I’m discouraged to hear that your recent experience has left you frustrated and not wanting to consider us as your future destination for your next purchase.
I know from firsthand how important it is to protect your technology, when I learned about the technology that screen protectors have, I knew it was worth the investment. Installing them hasn’t always been easy for me, and for that it’s nice to know that Geek Squad can do it for me while the phone is being activated. Mbrguy and kst8no1 have explained it’s an optional fee if you require the service, I know that I have other family members who feel confident in installing the screen protector themselves. In the future, I would highly recommend discussing your circumstances with your local Best Buy representatives though. They can provide the best information and options for your situation.
While we may not be able to undo your recent experience, rest assured that the appropriate teams will be notified of your concern. Best Buy relies on customer feedback to improve our stores, our website, and our product and service offerings, so your input is greatly appreciated!
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.

  • No Charge for service order

    Hi,
We have scenario some of the sale orders we should not charge to customers eg. shipping samples, free replacements, registration samples etc...  How can we handle this scenario finance prospective? like delivery, tax, customs etc...
    Thanks
    srinu

    Hi
This scenario can be simply called as 100% discount to customer... Here, you would do PGI and have COGS... however, you wont have any revenue....
depending on the terms agreed with the customer, you may recover the taxes from them or some times bear with your self....
Depending on the terms, you may have 100% discount condition type dependant on the BASE Price or dependant on total value inclusive of Taxes.... your SD Guy needs to set this up

  • Getting charged for sevice after I switched from verizon

I canceled my verizon service as of March 10th.  I just received a past due notice from Verizion stating I owe the full amount, including 3/11 - 3/26, even though I was no longer in service.  They still expect me to pay.
I called customer service and the first person I spoke to said they could prorate my account, she put me on hold for the supervisor and I got disconnected. Called back and was told a whole different story on why I was being charged a past due amount. Finally got a supervisor who said too bad, that's how the bill gets automatically generated and I have to pay for the service up to the end of the next billing period, there is nothing anyone can do. And amazingly they just had a big meeting earlier today going over how they can't credit customers back current charges for services they do not have?  Why should I have to pay for a canceled service??? So frustrated right now!

  • Charged for magazine subscription

I have been charged for an apparently free 6 issue magazine subscription after only receiving 1 issue.
I have contacted the magazine company whom said it was an I tunes issue, so I contacted I tunes and still have no response. I do not want the subscription and definitely want the money returned as I have not received the goods I was informed I would receive. I have been greatly misinformed, mis sold and charged for services I have not agreed to.
I require a response and explanation from somebody.

If the subscription was represented as free, but you got charged anyway, that is one thing.
If you paid for something and "have not received the goods" that is a different thing.
Please be clear on what your point is, and then contact iTunes Customer Service.

  • Bought albums that never d/led but was still charged for them

i tried to buy two albums that never downloaded and when i checked my bank statement online it had charged me twice for them. i want my money back. :o(

If that does not work, and you still want to try to have your money credited to you account, contact your financial institution. However, do not wait very long. Usually you will have 60 days from the time you received yor statement to dispute a transaction purchased using your ATM/VCK. Check with your financial institution for exact dispute details and time frames. I work at a financial institution, so I encounter this daily. Try to see if iTunes will resolve this for you first.
I requested credit 2x from the iTunes store...the first time, they did not respond, and the second time, the only reason why they responded was because I sent a technical support email (I have lots of issues with iTunes) and after two emails (to tech support, they said they only handled billing. So, I responded and said I had billing issues also, and to not send me a non technical support email when they had already sent me two technical support emails. Consequently, I am disputing the charge for services paid for but never received.

  • Charged for failed self install even though it was outside cable issue

Recently I moved and opted for self-install. I did all the set up correctly on my end but was still not getting internet service. I called and a technician was sent out and the technician also couldn't set it up because he determined the issue was with the outside line. He told me another technician would need to come out, at no charge to me, to run a new wire into the apartment for me to get service. The second technician came out a week later and did the work and again, no mention of charges for services was given or indicated on the receipt I was left with and signed. Sure enough I check my bill this month and there is a failed self-install fee of $100! I talked to customer service in chat and they said the best they could do is $30 even though I was told I would NOT be charged for the 2nd technician. I was also told that $50 service charges are mandatory whenever someone comes out, even though this specific charge is for a bogus failed self-install and not for a generic service visit. It wouldn't be so much of an issue if the first technician had just said "by the way it will cost $100 for the 2nd technician to install the new wiring from the cable box" instead of telling me it would be free. Why can't the technicians and service reps just be up front from the begining? This has been very frustrating. I still don't see the $30 credit and I should be getting a FULL credit because charge is completely bogus and the technicians should be trained to explain in advance all fees for services
    BEFORE I authorize service.

    @rick_a_shae
I am sorry for your troubles. I have sent you a private message to assist you further.

  • Being charged for cancelled service

I tried posting on your fb page and I don't see it there yet.  So I'll try this --  I just got my bill today and saw a $14.99 monthly charge for World Plan 300.  This is the plan I got in June 2013 for ONE MONTH while my children were travelling in Europe.  I requested one month, was actually pro-rated for just the time they were there (which was 3 weeks) , and in July 2013 I called back to make sure the charge was removed.  I was assured it had been.  Should I check my bill carefully?  Yes of course.  BUT, your representative told me the charge was removed and it wasn't!  So, they lied or are incompetent.  I paid for this service in Aug/Sept/Oct/Nov and Dec.  Are you kidding me?  $75 for something I NEVER used and had cancelled?  I asked your phone rep tonight and she assured me it was cancelled.  Well, the man on the phone in July told me it was cancelled, too.  Who do I believe?  I asked her tonight to connect me to someone who can credit my account for the service I cancelled and she said it was not possible.  Not possible to get back the money for something you didn't cancel??  This is shameful.
Any check of my account will show when the service was ordered, when I used my home phone to call Europe, and when I stopped using it.  I am disapointed that your company is satisfied with continuing to charge me for a service I had every reason to think was cancelled.  You TOLD me it was cancelled.  I added several Premium TV cable choices in August so the fact that the bill was higher didn't really register.
You have one deeply disapointed customer in me.
    Rose

I HAVE NEVER BEEN AS DISRESPECTED AS I HAVE BEEN BY VERIZON TODAY!!!!
I moved from MD TWO YEARS AGO and cancelled my bundled services (Phone, internet, and cable), but apparently someone at Verizon left the internet service on...I wasn't getting a bill and had Verizon service installed in my new home in TX, so I didn't think anything of it. When I recently ran my credit report, I noticed a negative from Verizon, when I called to investigate, after a 40 minute call, I was told I had to call the Finance department the next day to arrange payment for the $1100 I owed for the 23 months of internet service that they'd been charging me for.....
My first call started at 7am (PST)....after being told I was routed to the wrong department and transferred FOUR TIMES over an hour, I finally reached a supervisor who told me they would call me back....yeah right
So, when I called back this evening, and was transferred three more times, hung up on, put on hold (only to wait and then be disconnected), I reached an extremely rude "customer service" agent, who told me she would do me the courtesy of knocking off three months of the 23 month bill, but that I would be responsible for the rest, because she didn't see and record of a request being made to disconnect the service.
I REPEAT!!!!!   BUNDLE SERVICE!!!!!!  CABLE WAS CUT OF IN MARCH OF 2012!!!!!! PHONE WAS CUT OFF IN MARCH OF 2012!!!!   WHY WOULDN'T THE INTERNET HAVE BEEN CUT OFF AS WELL?????????
i AM EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED, ANGRY, AND I'VE NOW SPENT OVER 2.5 HOURS ON THE PHONE WITH VERIZON WITH NO END TO THIS NIGHTMARE IN SIGHT!!!!
CUSTOMER SER VICE DOES NOT MEAN ANSWERING THE PHONE AND PUTTING PEOPLE ON HOLD OVER AND OVER AGAIN.  IT DOES NOT MEAN TELLING A CUSTOMER, "I CAN'T HELP YOU"...
    IT MEANS HELPING THE CUSTOMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
