"charging is not supported" when using the cable that came with ipod
I get an error message that "charging is not supported" when plugged in using the only cable that came with my ipod touch. My ipod will charge for 5 minutes then when I check on it, I notice this error on screen and the ipod has stopped charging. I'm using the same charging method I have always used since I owned this ipod which has been over 2 years now and this only started happening recently. I believe this started when I upgraded to 5.0.1.
- Look at both partsof the 30 pin dock connector. Log for bent. mising or corroded contacts of orther abnormalities. The cable could be bad. Try a new one.
- Try a reset. Nothings is lost.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Do I need the cable that came with I home iw3 to connect my ipad air or can I use the ipad charging cable with an adapter to connect?
Just from personal curiosity, which web pages did you visit with your question that had you end up here in the 10.3 and earlier forum Circa 2003 obsoleteware?
It seems a common fault with this Apple Spoort site that so many posts are made to this forum that are irrelevant.
Can you post a few links from your browser History, just for research?
To answer your question, to upgrade from 10.5 to 10.6 you need to purchase the 10.6 retail DVD such as from here.
http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
(For your home country use the Apple localised site.)
The DVD is reasonablly priced, and once installed you can upgrade your iTunes etc. -

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

My MiFi jetpack 6620 doesn't charge. I've plugged it into the charger that comes with it, and only that charger. But nothing happens. The battery keeps getting drained. I first attempted when it was at 16%. After being on the charger a few hours, it dropped to 15%, then 14%. I'm currently at 12%. I've tried different outlets at different locations. And I've tested the charger cable on my phone and it charges that just fine. Which is more likely: the battery is defective or there is a problem with the jetpack itself? and the real kicker is that I've only had it for a week.
Happy Friday cjyoyomasta! I wanted to reach out to you to see if you received the assistance that you need with your jetpack. May I ask have you took the device to the store for assistance? If so, what was the results? If you can provie us with a status update then we can assist, if still needed.
Thank you…

I have tried using my daughter's iphone 5 cable, also original from apple, and it is doing the same thing!!
I had no trouble until today! I undated to OS7 about 2 weeks ago.

i plugged in my 18 month old iPhone to charge it, using the cable that came with it and that I have used regularly all along. I got a warning on my phone screen saying the cable is not certified and may not work properly with my iPhone. Why?
If you updated iPhone to iOS7, it now checks for real Apple Lightning Cable. Your cable may not be Apple, or someone swapped another cable with yours. Make sure the cable end is clean, take a clean dry toothbrush and carefully clean charging port on the iPhone.

Can anyone please help me. I have had my ipad2 for about 5 months and it has worked fine. I am now having issues charging it. I am using the cords that came with it and the outlet that I have used to charge it in the past, but when plugged in it is recconoigzed, but states not charging. I have made sure all my updates are current and they are. Does anyone have any suggestions or helful advice that my help. Thanks in advance.
Are you plugging it into a pc? If so it will not charge the iPad as there is not enough power try the back USB ports, may work.
If it isn't plugged into a pc and plugged into your socket could be faulty socket adapter. -

Can I use the CD that came with my MBP to upgrade my iMac?
I've had an iMac G5 for a couple years now with the 10.3.9 operating system. I just bought a MBP that has the 10.4.9 OSX. Can I use the installation cd that came with the MBP and upgrade my iMac to tiger?
Hello scotty:
Short answer - no. The OS X that came with your MBP is licensed for one computer. If you want to use OS X 10.4 on all your computers (I do), you can buy a "family" license that permits installation on up to five computers. Also, from a practical point of view, the software installed on new computers is, as I understand it, hardware specific.

Does anyone know how to use the earphones( plugs) that come with iPhones?
Mine is still fairly new and I am just learning how to use certain things. They're pretty straightforward. You plug them into the headset jack (the hole on the top left of your phone). You put the buds in your ears. All sounds, except for the phone ringing will now come through the earbuds.

Does The I phone 5s have a different charging cable ??
Well, assuming all of the above, Notifications, etc., it just might be time for a visit to the Apple tore genius center for a session with the techs. See if it is a fault in the hardware or just an iOS reinstall is the answer.
One more thing you could try, backup so you have a record of content, then restore to factory conditions be an Erase All Contents and Settings. Then restore from the backup you just made. That has helped some with WiFi problems, may be it would work with your problems.
But with that behavior of another app with problems, the geniuses looks like a less stressful thing to do. -
I downloaded ios 7 some time ago when it was new and what not. I found out from my friends iphone 4 with ios 7 the wallpaper moved. why doesnt this happen for me?
That's not a feature of iOS 7 on the iPhone 4. It requires a 4S or higher.
