"charging not compatible with this device" after IOS 4.3 update.

I have a belkin car adaptor that I have been using for some time, after installing IOS 4.3 I've been getting the error message saying it isn't compatible and so it refuses to charge my phone, this is important as I use it to charge my iPhone as I use it as a GPS device, i dont see how this problem has come about as prior to IOS 4.3 it charged perfectly!
Could I have some advice on this and fingers cross that apple reads and acts upon this forum!

I've also had this issue with charging since upgrading to iOS 4.3.1  Actually upgrading to 4.3.2 and then to 4.3.3 has not solved the charging problem.  Here's my story:
I own an iPhone 3GS and started noticing error messages with 4.3.1 such as "charging is not supported with this accessory".  I've tried differnent USB cables and chargers (Apple and non-Apple), hooking up to computers and wall outlets.  I get the same message.  As a last resort I restored my device as a new phone (syncing works oddly) and erasing everything.  This did not help the situation.
So yesterday I took my 3GS to the Apple Store and they were kind enough to replace my iPhone with a new (refurbished) 3GS under AppleCare. That was awesome - I love Apple. However, that didn't fix the problem
So now I'm not sure what to do accept wait for a new iOS version and hope Apple addresses this problem.  Anyone else have a similar experience?

  • HT1476 How do I fix  charging not supported with this device?

Charging not supported with this device. How do I fix this. Charger that came with the phone is used.

Clean the contacts on the dock end of the cable and inside the dock on the phone

  • Can you turn off the "Charging not supported with this device" messages?

I recently bought a standard dock extender cable in order to connect my iPad to my Apple HiFi and have had music from Pandora constantly interrupted by sporadic "Charging not supported with this device" messages. The messages will continue to come up repeatedly despite pressing the "Dismiss" bar repeatedly.
Is there a way to turn those kinds of warnings off in either iPad Settings or in iTunes when docking the iPad?

Try connecting the iPad to the iPod Hi-Fi with a male to male mini-stereo cable. I use one of these cables to connect my Airport Express to my iPod Hi-Fi, so that I can use it with AirTunes.
You can even combine the cable with the Apple iPad Dock, which would let you charge the iPad while using it with the iPod Hi-Fi.

  • Google Play Store shows firefox not compatible with this device even when firefox says tested for that device.

I am using Samsung Galaxy Ace (Samsung GT-S5830i) Android phone and I want to install Firefox for Android on that device.
Your website says that firefox has been tested to work with this device: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/will-firefox-work-my-mobile-device
Still, Google Play Store shows the following messaage: This app is incompatible with your Vodafone IN Samsung GT-S5830i.
    What should I do?

Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830/GT-S5358 is what is shown on the article. You are saying yours is "S5830i". There is an "i" at the end of the model which may be the restriction. I will contact one of our mobile associates to look into this if the answer provided does not meet your needs. Thank you.

  • IPhone 4 continues to display "this accessory is not compatible with this device" I only got my phone a week ago and I have only plugged a charger into it... Any ideas on how to fix? Ask your question.

Phone is and has continued to display "this accessory is not optimized on this I phone... It flashes on the screen continuously even when phone is locked, wasting battery life in the process. I could understand if I had used a dodgy charger but I have only used the charger I got with my iPhone. And it has been happening since the first time I charged it. Also the keyboard sounds go on and off when I'm typing, any ideas. Cheers.

    Hi,
Not that's not normal and is one of the Problems I was having before Restoring as New...
Just make sure you Sync ALL your important Info... Contacts... Music... Etc... to your Computer...
and then do a Restore as New...
i was a bit reluctant at First, because I hadn't done it before... But it was So Easy and am Really Glad I did...
    Cheers,

  • Charging not supported with this device?

iPad 1, charges normally using OEM Wall Charger.  Also I use a Zagg (3rd party) portable rechargable battery charger (designed for Apple products).  Recently, and only sporadically, the iPad will not charge using the Zagg, only using the wall charger.  I've tried different cords, that's not the problem.  I've reset my settings as suggested in another thread, that doesn't work either.  I even returned the Zagg and got a new one.  It charges my iPhone just fine.  I charged the iPad using the wall charger, let battery run down, and now the Zagg works on the iPad...Any ideas?

Maybe i don't fully understand the issue, but aren't you saying it essentially works now? Personally, I avoid using third party equipement to charge any iOS device (I have have an ancient iPod that uses a belkin charger, but doesn't get much use). Could be a design issue with the Zagg improperly reading the iPad. Hard to say. but if it currently works, try using it through a few cycles and see if you have an issue. If not, you basically solved the problem, it would seem.

  • Installer not compatible with this device error message

any help or downloads for this?
    Post relates to: Palm TX

Hi winston45, SkyScape offers some marvelous medical software, but the installation instructions are very specific.
Some files go to your SD card, and others to the main RAM in the device.  SkyScape includes installation guides and manuals in all of the downloads I've ever used.  Be sure to follow the instructions to the letter.
There is help offered on their website too for installation issues.

  • HT1766 my backup is failling to restore and displays an error message: backup either corrupt or not compatible with the device. This happened after updating to the latest software IOS7

My backup is failling to restore and displays an error message: backup either corrupt or not compatible with the device. This happened after updating to the latest software IOS7

I have the same issue and I KNOW my backup IS good. What happen is when you try to restore your phone apple says something like can I check for new updates and if you choose no, it just takes you back to the restore screen and a loop from then on.  If you dont update from you phone then when you back up you will have the 5.0.1 back up and then when you update to 5.1.1 and then try to restore the backup from 5.0.1 it say it EITHER corrupt or incompatible.. It is incompatible and its hard as **** to restore back to 5.0.1. I followed the restore to a T and still getting errors. I lost all text history and have to reset up email. All just because I wanted a 1.2 Gigs of "other" space back.

  • My ipod touch 3rd gen doesnt work on usb charger but on dock it says "Charging is not supported with this device" How do I fix it?

I'm taking it in to get it looked at but will they cover this? And is there a way to fix it before I take it in. I'm still under the 1 year warranty plan. My friend said that they might exchange it. It's a 64GB and I use it for a lot of things like my picture, music, contacts, and email. It's got scratches on the back but other wise its ok the screen isn't cracked or scratched.
I have a usb charger for it but when I plug it into the PC or my wall charger it won't charge. It just says  "Charging is not supported with this device". It even says that sometimes when it's not charging. But it works on a dock station like my clock or radio.
Also my home buttom won't work unless I press down real hard. This scares me because I'm afraid I wil persss it too hard and break it even more.
    Please help.

    - Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
    - Try another charging source
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • What does this message mean Charging is not supported with this device?

What does this message mean Charging is not supported with this device?

You've gotten 2 good answers already, but there's a key assumption in both that you got the message when connecting the iPhone to some other device. If this is the case you can get an adapter in the Apple online store that will allow charging from older devices.
If, however, this message appears when you are not connected to anything the problem is dirt or moisture in the dock connector at the bottom of the phone. Clean it with a dry toothbrush or air blast.
