Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Here is a KB that discusses the LED states as related to charging:
KB18223 Charging behavior of the BlackBerry smartphone
It is possible that you indeed did not get a good connection to charge. It is also possible that, by fully depleting it, the battery has been damaged and rendered useless.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Macbook Pro 13 (Early 2011) Charging Problems

Recently I noticed that when I charge my macbook pro, the LED light on the magsafe would go green then orange to show that it is charging. However after a few minutes or seconds the orange LED light will go off (Stops Charging) and the whole process of charging starts again, green light then orange then nothing...
I already tried resetting the PRAM and SMU. I also tried using different wall sockets for charging and it yielded the same results. However, when i borrowed my friends mac charger, my MBP manage to charge without any problems. When he used my charger the charging problem also occurred.
So i decided to bring it to an Apple Authorized service provider sine they are no Apple Retail Stores in Thailand. I told the guy at the AASP that my charger was probably broken/faulty, but he said it was the receiver sensor of the macbook pro (The place where i connect the magsafe to my MBP ). He used a different charger (At the counter)and the LED lights when from Green, Orange then yellow and said the MBP needed to be sent to Singapore to be repaired and it would take 10 - 14 days. I said OK since my MBP was still in warranty and it would be free. Next day he called and said he fixed it by resetting something and that I could pick it up. At the AASP, the macbook pro didnt show any charging problems so i brought it home to charge.
Now it has the same charging problem as before...

Do you have another power adapter to try? If so, can you use the power adapter that came with this mac?
Do you have another MBP? If so can you use this power adapter on that MBP?
Are you using another pointing device or is it the one built right into the laptop? If you are using another pointing device try purchasing a new one or disconnecting or reconnecting or even try on another computer.
You might be only able to get buy for the next few month until you graduate until you can get your computer fixed. If all else fails go buy yourself a $8 mouse from a place, it will work until you can get this fixed... or buy apple mice if that is a big deal to you.
Here is one for only 3.18! http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Gear+Head-Computer+-+OM3800U+Mouse/3933383.p?id=1218 443155891&skuId=3933383
Or if you want the one I have used: (M515 @ home or HP Wired Mouse-- Its kind of old) This isn't the exact one but they discontinued that one: http://www.logitech.com/en-us/mice-pointers/mice/devices/mouse-m100 so for $10 you get a mouse and your computer works.

  • ZEN VISION:M CHARGING PROBLEM - H

[color="#ff0000"]ZEN VISION:M MP3 PLAYER CHARGING PROBLEM?My MP3 player was charging perfectly for the first 4 weeks of its life with me. I usually charged using the USB port on my computer. When connected, the player would come to life and the CHARGING ICON would appear and flash until the unit was fully charged and the CHARGED ICON would come on. Worked well. Now when I connect the player to the computer, instead of the CHARGING ICON coming on, the unit immediately begins playing music or going to the last mode it was in before being shut down previous to connecting for charging.
I have tried a reset of the whole player but that did not make any difference. I?encounter the same problem when connecting the player to the car?charger/power adapter. Can anyone give me some assistance? Cure? Thanks,? David B.

  • 2nd dead iPod Touch 4G in 2 months?  Battery/charging problems!

    Hi everyone,
It seems as of tonight that I will have to return my second iPod Touch 4G in the last two months. In both cases, it was an issue where the device would no longer charge, and became very hot on the top of the back panel when the device was turned on even for a few seconds (while not being plugged in). In the first case, the device seemed to be defective from the time I opened the box, which was confirmed at an Apple Store, but they asked me to ship it to Apple Repair to be checked out. Apple took a very long time to get a replacement to me, but was good about that problem, and I was happy with the replacement for the past month when all of a sudden tonight the new one would not change and became very hot.
Is this an issue that anyone else has seen? I essentially only charged it off of my laptop or a wall charger unit, but it seems like the battery essentially is shorting out. I love this device, but actually need to use a PDA-type device enough that I am questioning whether I should get a replacement or go back to my old Palm TX.
Thanks for any thoughts/feedback on my iPod Touch 4G battery/charging problems.

Most battery complaints complain about loss of charge. The iPod is designed to lose heat through the back as the battery discharges. This is most common when using the device a lot - like playing games. If yours will no loner charge, by all means return it to Apple.
As far as being a PDA goes, it is as good as any smart phone out there. The PDA, as you once knew it, is dead and has been for 5+ years. Take your iPod to an Apple store and insist on a replacement.

  • Syncing and Charging Problem with 1st gen iPod nano

I purchased a 1st generation iPod nano via eBay about 3 months ago and have developed an interesting syncing and charging problem.  When I plug the nano to my iMac, frequently neither the computer nor iTunes will recognize it.  I have done "the five R's" with occasional success.  I've tried jiggling the cable in the computer port and sometimes it works in getting iTunes to recognize the nano, sometimes it doesn't.  Even when I am able to get iTunes to recognize the nano, I have frequently found that the nano hasn't charged up at all.  In fact, a couple of times I found it almost totally drained of power after having been connected to my computer.  Yes, I have the most recent version of iTunes installed on my iMac and my iMac, by the way, is relatively new - having been purchased in May of this year.  What is interesting is that I've taken my nano to work and it has absolutely no problem charging up on my Dell (yuk!).  For the record, I do not have iTunes installed on my work computer and I am not allowed to add any apps to my work computer without the consent of my supervisor.  The chances of getting iTunes installed on my Dell at work are pretty much nil.  Any suggestions on how I can fix the problem?

I bought a new USB dock connector and hoped, with fingers and toes crossed, that something positive would happen.  Sure enough, I was able to sync and recharge my old iPod nano.  I guess the original USB dock cable is on its last legs.  Not totally broken, but no longer reliable.  I consider my problem solved!    My thanks to everyone who took the time to read and try to solve my iPod problem.  I greatly appreciate it!

  • Macbook Pro Charge problems

So I have a Macbook Pro I bought in August 2010, which over the last 3 days has started developing charging problems. It does one of the two of the following: I plug the charger in, the charge light will come on and the laptop will charge for about 45 secs before dropping out completely needing to be physically disconnected and switched off at the wall for at least a minute before it starts working again, for the same effect. Or, I plug it in, it charges for about 30 secs, then resets itself as if it had only just been connected, charges for another 30 secs, resets, charges for another 30 secs repeats, etc etc.
Wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue?
As you can imagine, this is making life really REALLY difficult for trying to keep my laptop charged.
I have tried the various tricks listed on the Apple troubleshooting website, and nothing has worked long term. I am sure the power points I am using are good, because they are the same points I use day in and day out at work/school.
I am considering taking the adapter to the nearest Apple Reseller to me, and getting them to check it/replace it if it is naffed. I am also considering getting it replaced with the more powerful 85 watt adapter rather than the 60 watt, if I am able to do so...

There are several reasons that the power adpater is behaving as it does.  However, since you've "tried the various tricks listed on the Apple troubleshooting website, and nothing has worked long term", the only thing left is to try a new power adapter.  Be sure to bring in your old adapter with your computer.

  • 1st-Gen iPod charging problems

I have had a 1st-gen iPod touch since Dec 2008 and really love it. One annoying problem that I have found with it is a charging problem that I think that I have finally nailed down. I use a wall charger to charge my iPod while idle and while I use it. When I am using my iPod while charging, I have noticed that it sometimes does not charge properly. It appears that when using certain apps such as Pandora or other non-Apple apps, the battery indicator will go from the charge symbol (lightning bolt) to charged (plug) even if the battery is nearly discharged. I've tried resetting the iPod, etc. and the problem persists. I can switch apps from Pandora to the built-in music player and the batter will resume charging. Does anyone have any details on this behavior? I was unable to find anything searching the web. Thanks!

I have a 2nd gen and have not noticed that with Pandora or actually any other app. That seems pretty strange that an app would suspend charging. You should at least try to correct it with a restart, reset, restore routine. If you are not familiar with how to do these things, it's pretty simple.
Restart - hold the Sleep/Wake button until you see the red slider. Turn the iPod off. Restart by holding the Sleep/Wake button down until you see the Apple logo and release it.
Reset - hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down together for approx. 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo. Release the buttons.
Restore - plug your iPod into iTunes and, on the Summary page, select Restore.

  • IPod Touch 4G Charging Problems

The third-party charger that I have been using for a year stopped working. I eventually figured out it was the charger, not my PC or iPod. So I use my old Apple charger that came with my iPod which stopped working somewhere in mid 2012 early 2013 (got iPod on Christmas 2011). When my iPod dies, I plug it in with the Apple charger. It will boot up unless I touch it, even a bit, and I have to reconnect it to charge it. Then, while I'm not there, iOS boots, as usual. But, it shows a charging battery in the corner, but the lock screen has my wallpaper, not the battery. Everyonce in a while when it's plugged in, it will go from 20% to having the full charged symbol, and it's not fully charged. Everyonce in a while it also says "Charging not support with this accessory". Also erlier today when my iPod was plugged in, it made the charging sound, one after the other, four times. And nobody was there and the charger was exactly how it was left. It is starting to get really bad and I might get a new (sorry, non-Apple) device. PLEASE HELP! Thank you.

  • TS2634 ipad 3 charging problem?

I have a ipad 3 that has a charging problem as of late. It will not  charge while it is on. I first have to turn my ipad off and then plug it  in and then the ipad will turn itself back on and will charge. Thats  the only way i can get it to charge. It wont connect to my pc anymore to  connect to iTunes.  When I connect it to my pc I get a USB not recognize  by this device or some USB error. I tried the same thing by turning the  ipad off first and connecting it to the pc. It just turn on and I  receive the same message on my pc. What should I do? I'm thinking I may  need another USB cable but I'm not sure yet. Please help!

IF the reset doesn't help, try swapping out the cable.
Also, your ipad is best charged plugged into the wall with the supplied charging brick.
Usually charging/syncing problems are one of four things
    Bad power brick
    Bad USB cable
    Bad outlet
In your situation you may also want ot restart your computer, use a different USB port.
If none of that swappage and restarting fixes it then you may want to make an appointment at your local apple store because it's possible that there's something worng with the port on your iPad. And that is beyond a user fix.

  • Display & Charging Problem - X220

I have the i7 X220.  It's been great, but I'm starting to have a few issues.  Just want to get some feedback in case there's something simple I need to do before contacting service and probably sending it in for repair (it was purchased March 2010).
    1)  Display is great 98% of the time, but I notice that the colors go off - a bit day glo/neon, if I move the laptop while it's on and in use.  This used to be just if I walked across the room, now it happens sometimes even if I just move it from my lap. The same thing occurs sometimes after I've been using it for a while.  Wondering if it's heat related or if I have a loose connection somewhere.  Note that it generally goes right back to good if I refresh the display.
    2) A more serious issue - I've had charging problems with this laptop off and on for the last few months.  I purchased a spare power supply and battery, and I noticed that it seemed to charge fine with the newer power supply, but was random with the old one.  Batteries didn't seem to make a difference.  Today, once again I can't get it to charge at all - with either power supply or battery.
You're thinking, "Well just send it in for service."  That's probably what I'll have to do, but these tend to be random issues, and I've not had good luck with repairs in the past when that was the case.  So, just trying to get some background and see if these are known issues.
    Thanks.

    hey shazza,
for #1 , i'm guessing a loose cable is causing this since it happens when you move the unit. If you want, use this >> http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/guides-and-manuals/detail.page?DocID=UM006464
open your unit and ensure all cables is connected correctly.
another thing you can try is to uninstall the current graphic driver for your unit , let windows install its generic drivers and see if it happens again.
now for #2 , that is something I will have to say send it to service. I have not seen that happen before.

  • [N85] USB charging problem

    Hello all,
I tried to charge my N85 with an [non-Nokia] USB battery charger (Lenovo 90W Slim AC/DC Combo Adapter) via the Nokia Connectivity Cable (CA-101) to keep down the amount of chargers I have to carry.
But except of asking, which data connection profile I want to use, there is no charging at all.
Am I doing something wrong or is the N85 only chargeable by the original Nokia wall charger?
    Thank you

I just want to know whether someone else has this problem usb charging problems too or if only my problem, and to make know @sicut that he is not the only one with usb charging problems with his Nokia N85 and his Lenovo charger.
@sapporaby, is it "apple" a word taboo for you? Why "kensington" is not taboo? Why "lenovo" is not taboo either?
    1. I have had every Mac made since 2003.
    2. I am typing this on a Mac now.
    3. I have had and still have every iPhone made.
    4. Same with every brand iPod.
    5. I am running Apple software right now and the Nokia for Mac software.
Is that taboo enough for you? DON'T ASSUME because now your taboo question is moot.
As for your the Apple charger does not work issue, my question still stands. While your Apple charger may have worked with your N95 there is no reason why it should work with your N85. Are they the same phone?. Is the N85 made by Apple? No again. Does the Apple charger supply the same charging voltage as the Nokia charger that came with the phone? These are issues that come into play. What is so hard to use the cable that came with the phone. It seems, and maybe I am wrong but you and the OP are making a mountain out of a moe-hill.
Just use the cable that came with the phone, in the USB port of your computer and be done with it. I am having a very hard time trying to understand what the problem is with using the cable.

  • Macbook Pro (Early 2011) charging problems

    Hey Guys,
The Macbook Pro was bought in July of 2011 which is only a few months old .When I plug in my magsafe to charge the macbook pro it turns green, then orage to show that it is charging. However, after a few mintues of charging the orange LED light goes off and it stops charging, then the orange light comes on to charge for another few mintues then stops charging. I have been aren't to charge the macbook pro
Is the charger broken? I cant find or see anything tearing in the charging cable or anything broken with the power brick.
    Thanks

    First try resetting the SMC...
Reset SMC of a MacBook or MacBook Pro’s with an internal battery:
    * Shutdown your MacBook/Pro
    * Connect the power adapter to your Mac
    * On the MacBook/Pro’s keyboard, hold down the Shift+Control+Option keys and the Power button at the same time
    * Release all keys and the power button at the same time
    * Boot your Mac as usual
    Then try resetting the PRAM...
    Resetting the PRAM
You reset the PRAM by rebooting a Mac and then immediately hold down theCommand+Option+P+R keys, you will then hear the Mac reboot sound again, signifying your PRAM has been reset. You must hit the key combination before the grey screen appears otherwise it won’t work.
If those two tricks fail, take the adapter and the laptop to the applestore. IMO it sounds like a battery issue and not a charger problem.

Any ideas I'm pulling my hair out !!!

Seems to be a hardware issue and you'll have to get it checked by visiting an Authorized Apple Service Provider, an Apple Store , to see if other 3rd party charger will work at their place.
