CHARSET  trouble !

Hi all.
I am relativelly new in ABAP area.
So, i have to connect external database (ORACLE), to SAP for reporting purposes.
There is no problem with external connection, but i can't display cyrillic symbols in ABAP list.
External database NLS_CHARSET is 'BG8MSWIN',
SAP (oracle) NLS_CHARSET is WE8DEC.
I have tryed allready all different variants of oracle charsets and conversions with SQL statements. It seems the problem is somewhere else.

Hi!
I do not know whether this may be a solution but did you try to use the ABAP statement 'TRANSLATE'? It is used for conversions between different charsets as I remember. You can find more help at SAP's documentations.
You may also find something useful in the transaction 'SPAD'.
SPAD -> Click 'Full Administration' -> Tabstrip of "Char. Sets".
I hope these can be first steps to solve your problem.

  • Oracle XML Parser for PL/SQL - troubles with charset

    Hi,
    I'm using Oracle XML Parser for PL/SQL and have some troubles with charset of results xmldom.writeToBuffer and xmldom.writeToCLOB procedures.
    Some tags in my DOM documents contain text values in RUSSIAN (server nls_charset is CL8ISO8859P5). When I write document in varchar2 variable, buffer content is in UTF8 charset ( convert UTF8->CL8ISO8859P5 -OK).
    xmldom.setCharset(doc, 'ISO-8859-5') just after xmldom.newDOMDocument has no effect.
    xmldom.setCharset(doc, 'CL8ISO8859P5') has no effect also.
    Explicit charset direction in third parameter of
    xmldom.writeToBuffer and xmldom.writeToCLOB procedure has no effect.
    When I write document in CLOB, and then read part of CLOB in varchar2 buffer - result contain '?' in place of all russian text characters.
    What's a problem?
    How can I force XML Parser write XML in server charset?
    Oracle XML Parser for PL/SQL v 1.0.2

    I have the same problem. But in my case I am allowed only to use XML Parser for PL/SQL.
    Characterset 'WE8ISO8859P1' is used. And the language is latvian.
    After parsing a XML document and printing its contents, all latvian characters are replaced by "f".
    xmldom.setcharset(doc,'WE8ISO8859P1') has no effect.

    Hi, I am having troubles with the #body style in my web page. I have inserted a table into the #body area and the the body editable region will not line up on the top with the sideBar editable region when I add text and apply my css to it. Can you look at the code and let me know what I am doing wrong? Thanks!

    You have your image in the 'body editable region' wrapped in <p></p> tags (paragraph tags). <p> tags have padding and margin set on them by default.
    <p><img src="/images/aboutus2.jpg" width="675" height="300" /></p>
    You can either just remove the <p></p> tags or you can zero out the padding and margin:
    p {
    padding: 0;
    margin: 0;
    Unfortuanately the above will target every paragraph on your page which might not be desirable so I would just remove the <p> tags as it is not necessary to wrap an image in them.
    If you do want to keep the <p> tags then use some inline css to specifically remove the padding and margin on that particular one:
    <p style="padding: 0; margin: 0;"><img src="/images/aboutus2.jpg" width="675" height="300" /></p>

    To be honest with Firefox 2 the same happens here , it does

  • Trouble inserting Flash in CS5.5

    I just upgraded to CS5.5 and am having trouble inserting a Flash file into Dreamweaver. When I used CS4, I would open the html file that Flash created in the Publish process. I would copy and paste the top part of that file -- the <script> info into the header of my dreamweaver code. Then in the location where I wanted the Flash file to be I would paste the code from the Flash html that started with <!--url's used in the movie--> and ended with </noscript>.
    However, the files I just created in Flash using all the same Publish settings as I used previously (I think!) look completely different. There is nothing like either of these sections that I previously used to insert the Flash code into Dreamweaver. Here is a comparison of the 2 Flash html files so you can see what I'm talking about.

    HELP!!!!!

    OK, firstly, you can open the site an Dreamweeaver CS 4 and insert your flash video, but with CS 5.5 Adobe decided that Flash support should be something they should deprecate. And there is good reason.
    Mobile devices don't handle Flash very well. iPhones and iPads simply won't play it and many of the Android devices make a video into a slide show with sound.
    With CS 5.5 though, you can make an HTML5 document that understands the <video> tag. This will allow you to directly embed a video into a website without needing any plugin. There is a complete explanation and tutorial here:
    Webmonkey: Embed Video in your web page using HTML5
    From the article, here's the source:
    <video width="560" height="340" controls>
      <source src="path/to/myvideo.mp4" type='video/mp4; codecs="avc1.42E01E, mp4a.40.2"'>
    <source src="path/to/myvideo.ogv" type='video/ogg; codecs="theora, vorbis"'>
    </video>
    That's it! You can add additional stuff, like an image placeholder and so on, but really, you're looking at four lines of code here. Now, with the Flash stuff, Adobe, which supported Flash, wrote all of the code for you. While that was easy, it was a lot more complicated and, of course, clients on your site had to have the Flash plugin to see the video.
    Your doctype declatation is XHTML 1.0 strict. You will need to change your doctype to HTML5 thusly:
    <!DOCTYPE html>
    <html lang="en">
    Then after your head tag, declare your character set:
    <meta charset="UTF-8">
    Lastly, you will need to make sure that your server understands the ogg Theora MIME type. Download your .,htaccess file from your remote server and add the following lines to the end of that file:
    AddType audio/ogg .oga
    AddType video/ogg .ogv
    AddType application/ogg .ogg
    AddHandler application-ogg .ogg .ogv .oga
    You may also be able to add these MIME types from your server's control panel.
    Then, you're finished with Flash—forever.

    Well, I dont know.
    Any help is welcome.

    Hi,
    I don't know if this can help you, but I had a similar problem while invoking a web service. Eventually, I found out that the server was returning an html error page, and not the expected xml answer.
    That's why the client code raises such an error... It means that the MIME type of the anser is text/html (for the html page) and not the text/xml type of the 'nominal' web service answer.
    You can verify this by using a proxy to intercept the http request and answer involved in this web service invocation (use Fiddler for instance). Then, you will see that the server responds by sending an html page saying that something is wrong.
    Hope this helps...

  • Setting the charset in dynamic invocation

    I'm on WLS 8.1 SP1. The doc (http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/webserv/i18n.html)
    shows how to set the charset attribute of the Content-Type HTTP header via the
    client stub. But I am not using client stubs, I'm using dynamic invocation. So
    how do I accomplish the equivalent? I don't see an obvious javax.xml.rpc.Call
    property field for this.
    TIA...
    Mark

    The trouble with this example is that it doesn't use JAX-RPC dynamic invocation.
    The attachment contains an example of what I am trying to do. The method of interest

    Hi Mark,
    Your client application can specify the character set that it would
    prefer the Web Service to use in its response by using the
    weblogic.webservice.binding.BindingInfo.setAcceptCharset() method.
    See: http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/webserv/i18n.html#1069629
    There is example code there as well.
    Hope this helps,

  • XML Parser for PL/SQL - charset

    Hi,
    I'm using XML Parser for PL/SQL and have some trouble with encoding of results xmldom.writeToBuffer and xmldom.writeToCLOB procedures.
    Some tags in my DOM documents contain text values in RUSSIAN (server nls_charset is CL8ISO8859P5). When I write document in varchar2 variable, buffer content is in UTF8 encoding ( convert UTF8->CL8ISO8859P5 -OK).
    xmldom.setCharset(doc, 'ISO-8859-5') just after xmldom.newDOMDocument has no effect.
    xmldom.setCharset(doc, 'CL8ISO8859P5') has no effect also.
    Platform:
    Oracle8i Enterprise Edition Release 8.1.6.1.0
    JServer Release 8.1.6.1.0
    Oracle XML Parser for PL/SQL v 1.0.2

    I have the same problem. But in my case I am allowed only to use XML Parser for PL/SQL.
    Characterset 'WE8ISO8859P1' is used. And the language is latvian.
    After parsing a XML document and printing its contents, all latvian characters are replaced by "f".
    xmldom.setcharset(doc,'WE8ISO8859P1') has no effect.

  • Trouble Creating Share Point via 'sharing' Command

    I'm having trouble creating a share point via the command line using the 'sharing' utility. Basically just trying to script the creation of a /WindowsShares/ share via SMB.
    Here is the command:
    <pre class=command>sharing -a /WindowsShares/ -n WindowsShares -s 001 -g 000 -i 00 -o 0 -t 1'</pre>
    It seems like everything works. <pre class=command>sharing -l</pre> shows this:
    <pre class=command>name: WindowsShares
    path: /WindowsShares/
    afp: {
    name: WindowsShares
    shared: 0
    guest access: 0
    inherit perms: 0
    ftp: {
    name: WindowsShares
    shared: 0
    guest access: 0
    smb: {
    name: WindowsShares

    guest access: 0
    inherit perms: 0
    oplocks: 0
    strict locking: 1
    directory mask: 493
    create mask: 420
    }</pre>
    However, it doesn't seem to write anything to the /etc/smb.conf file... So nothing works.
    If I enter the following in smb.conf the share does work:
    <pre class=command>[WindowsShares]
    oplocks = 0
    map archive = no
    vfs objects = darwin_acls
    path = /WindowsShares
    read only = no
    strict locking = 1
    inherit permissions = 0
    comment = macosx
    create mask = 0644
    guest ok = 0
    directory mask = 0755</pre>
    However, even after entering this information - when I check 'Share Points' within WGM the share IS listed - but the 'Share this item and its contents' is NOT checked and thus, is confusing and can't be modified from WGM.
    Am I missing something when I am creating this share via the CLI?
    I assumed using 'sharing' worked the same way as using WGM and checking 'Share this item and its contents' - that works perfectly.
    I tried this with 10.4.8 and 10.4.9 Server (Universal).
    Any help would be appreciated!

    smb:use spnego = yes
    smb:printer admin = "@admin, @staff"
    smb:ntlm auth = "YES"
    smb:workgroup = "CBEEDU"</pre>
    The only difference was that smb:workgroup = "CBEEDU" and smb:log level = 2 were reversed. The settings were the same though. Thought that was odd.
    When making the change via 'sharing', there is no change.
    Is there any other documentation on 'sharing' other than the man page and CLI Guide from Apple? I haven't been able to find anything concrete.

    From JMS the correct way to set the mq message format to MQSTR is by using a JMS text message. You don't have to set anything explicitly.
    Can you try posting the message to a local mq and use some tool to see the message sitting on the format and check for the MQ format field. Also let know what exact error the other system is getting.
    P.S: For anything MQ, I would recommend to use this forum : www.mqseries.net.

  • Trouble with galleries.

    Please forgive me for asking such silly questions, but I'm having some coding trouble.
    The other day, I started a thread asking how to get a flash gallery to show up on my html page. After re-aranging some files on my server, it worked just fine. So now, I thought that I would just be able to apply those same principals to adding two more galleries to the same page. I know that they are there, but nothing is showing up.
    Here is the page: http://www.amoterocreative.com/work.html
    You can navigate to all the galleries here:
    http://www.amoterocreative.com/design_gallery.swf
    http://www.amoterocreative.com/design_gallery.swfhttp://www.amoterocreative.com/photo_gallery.swf
    http://www.amoterocreative.com/illustration_gallery.swf
    All the corresponding swf and xml files are in the same folder with the html. Is it that I need a .js file for each gallery, or will the one file work for all three?
