Check activation lock status - stolen iPhone

I tried the service
https://www.icloud.com/activationlock/
with the imei number of my old stolen iphone4 that was ios 6.
The status now is Locked! This is possible only if the person that have NOW my iPhone (stolen 1,5 year ago) has upgraded to ios7.
Apple KNOW exactly the Apple ID associated to this IMEI, the ceck reveal that the IMEI is locked by an appleid...not hard to find...
Can i Have the apple ID associated to my iPhone?
No, it's not possible. Why? I have all the documentation about the IMEI and from the police.
The IMEI is associated to my wife's apple account in this moment waiting for "find my iPhone"...but with ios 6...no answears...the thief power off the device in 5 minutes after my first call...
I want my iPhone back, Apple Know the thief. What exactly the problem?
Marco.

Yes. I did all. Everything goes normal but status is always on. I think my issue is related to this http://www.macrumors.com/2014/02/06/disable-find-my-iphone/
When I bought her iPad, it was 7.0.4. She didn't sign out of her account. I didn't remember how I could manage to delete her account.

I have got a Activation Lock on my iPhone and I need to get it activated. I don't know what Apple ID I was using with my iPhone. It shows as U***@h******.uk which is too short to be my email address. I have reset all my Apple ID passwords and none are activating my iPhone. I have also been into the apple store and they have tried to find out the Apple ID my iPhone was using but this was not successful. The serial number of my iPhone is: C32JN641DTWF

You are going to need to change the email address you use with your old ID. Once you have got access to your old account you will then log into both accounts at the same time on your Mac and transfer your data to a single account. We can do this later, but need you to get access to your old account first.

If the previous owner died, how can i get an Activation Lock for a iPhone 5

Without knowing the Apple ID and password that the deceased used you can't unlock the Activation Lock.

  • Is there a way to track activation of my stolen iPhone?

I was wondering if I would be able to track if my stolen iPhone has been activated by anyone, I have my box with all serial numbers, etc

Sorry, no. You could only track your phone if Find My Phone was setup/activated BEFORE you lost your phone. However, one only has to restore the phone to defeat Find My Phone & then use it. If your carrier offers blacklisting, that can prevent the phone from being activated as a phone, but not tracked.

how to unlock icloud lock iphone 5

i brought this phone in 2013 and i am sure its a new phone, coz in front of me only the phone is unpacked .
the ever biggest mistake i made is that time i was not aware abt apple id n i told them to activate the phone for me.the guy who is dealing with the software installation activated my phone with his id it seems. May be after couple of weeks i started facing problem like every time it was showing for the apple id password was incorrect. That time a  friend created one new apple id for me and i started using that with out any issue. All these happ after the release of IOS 7.1.2 , one day my wife by mistakely formatted iphone with out disabling the Find my iphone option and all these mis happ started.
my question is finally i found that guy who activated my phone ,but he is telling the apple id wat he is using is with domain hotmail.com
n not sure abt the id  [email protected] where showing as the id used for activation, as this was happened  2 years before. Is there any possibility where the same id can be used now as same ID with some other domain( for eg domain of our primary mail id present in the apple info like  [email protected])
i searched in the check activation lock status  its shwoing locked with some id not in the theft mode or lost mode.
is there any possibility where i can view watz the full id used to activate the phone

  • IPhone Activation Lock Bug

Recently in China, many iPhone-stolen users found their activation lock never worked and their iPhone got activated without their permission. And on Taobao, which is the largest online C2C market in China, many unauthorized vendors sell 'authorized' iPhone unlock service.
Things are still under the surface until several days ago, a user on Weiphone(the largest Apple fans discussion community in China) found its iPhone get lock without its permission after it reinstalled iOS. And the AppleID locked the phone is not its. It accessed to Apple Activation Lock Status querying page and inputted its iPhone's IMEI and pressed the Return key. Several microseconds later, it found its iPhone 5s displayed as an iPhone 4 and his iPhone 5s got locked as an iPhone 4. In short, its iPhone 5s has been locked remotely.
This guy guesses somebodies take the way which had been used for unlocking the iPhone 4's network lock several years ago. In this way of unlocking the iPhone 4's network lock, you need to change your network-locked iPhone 4's IMEI and serial number to a lock-free iPhone 4's.
So, you have to get not only IMEI, but also the serial number to lock an iPhone remotely. In China, once you bought a phone(not only iPhone), the vendor must record the sold phone's IMEI. And those people must bought the records from many vendors. And those people must also have a GSX account to query the phone's serial number with the IMEI.
And those people take this way, use their AppleIDs to lock many people's iPhones without any touch with their iPhones.
Please fix this bug. Many iPhone-stolen users in China are blaming the uselessness of activation lock.
Here is the original post on Weiphone(Chinese only). http://bbs.feng.com/read-htm-tid-8644410.html

Again, irrelevant.  Perhaps the user doesn't know they can activate lost mode.  Perhaps they've already replaced the device and don't care about the lost/stolen one.  Perhaps they are dead.  Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps.
All that matters is that the device is in Activation Lock.  You're the one that bought an iPhone from someone you don't know.  You're the one that didn't take the proper steps to make sure Activation Lock wasn't a factor during your purchase.
You (apparently) didn't know how to check to verify an iPhone isn't Activation Locked.  In that same level of ignorance, perhaps the rightful original owner didn't know they needed to remove Activation Lock, or how to enable Lost Mode, or to contact their carrier to blacklist the device.
Either get the owner of the Apple ID to remove Activation Lock, get the original purchaser to contact Apple with proof of purchase and request the Activation Lock to be removed, or enjoy your iBrick.

What To Do If Your iDevice or Computer Is Lost Or Stolen
    iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad
If you activated Find My Phone before it was lost or stolen, you can track it only if Wi-Fi is enabled on the device. What you cannot do is track your device using a serial number or other identifying number. You cannot expect Apple or anyone else to find your device for you. You cannot recover your loss unless you insure your device for such loss. It is not covered by your warranty.
If your iPhone, iPod, iPod Touch, or iPad is lost or stolen what do you do? There are things you should have done in advance - before you lost it or it was stolen - and some things to do after the fact. Here are some suggestions:

  • FYI: Apple provides a method for checking for Activation Lock

Apple have provided a method of checking before purchase that an iOS device isn't Activation Locked.
    http://www.idownloadblog.com/2014/10/01/activation-lock-status-check/
Basically you just go to iCloud.com/ActivationLock and enter the IMEI number and a catchpa.

I wasn sure if any Apple reps trolled the boards or not. That is the exact message I sent to Feedback. If enough users send the same message, maybe they'll set something up.
Apple is at risk for losing loyal product loyal customers.
i want to get my son an iPad, but really cannot afford a new one. Even if I buy one with a cracked screen and repair it, I still run the risk of not being able to use it. I know there's a process the previous owner can go through, but sometimes it can or won't get done! especially if it goes through a reseller. Apple will still make some money from me in the App Store and through iTunes, just not through their product store yet.

  • ACTIVATION LOCK EXTREMLY DISAPPOINTING

    Good afternoon Apple Community.
I am extremely displeased with Apple for the past 3 months due to this activation lock and I can't find a solution.
I forgot my Apple ID password that was attached to my Iphone 5s and my Ipad and I was unable to update to IOS8 because both devices always asked to put my apple id password and I forgot it. I went to iforgot and I had the recovery key setup on my device thinking it will be extra protection, boy I was wrong.
I was desperate to fix this issue so I went ahead put my ipad on lost mode to remotely wipe it and I've been stuck on the activation screen since. Luckly for me I spoke to an employee of apple and they told me there is an email I can request to turn off find my iphone with proof of purchase, IMEI and license. I went ahead and did the process with my Iphone 5s. Thank God the issue was fixed but now I can't do the same with my ipad because it does not have an IMEI. I have all the proof of purchase, heck I even have access to the apple id email, I have apple care on it as well and it shows all my information which IS MORE PROOF OF PURCHASE. Its not fair that they can take out find my iphone from my iphone 5s device but not my Ipad.
Apple you guys must have a way around this BS.

If you have the proof of purchase for that iPad ... either from Apple itself or some Apple-authorized seller, you'll be able to have it removed. I'll give you a variety of Apple Support documents on the general subject ...

A month ago my iPhone was stolen, I turned on Activation Lock but it never came out BUT an hour ago somehow my apple ID was changed and someone removed from the account both my iPhone and iPad and the iPad was also remotely wiped. As soon as I saw it I recover the password and return the access to my iPad. But iPhone is not registered for my apple ID any longer. Can Apple help me somehow? I have all the documents and the iPhone box. Will they lock the iPhone and return me access to it. I'm sure it's been attached to another apple ID.
PS. the apple ID I'm using on the discussons is not the hacked one.

Try contacting the Apple account security team and ask: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699.

  • I need help contacting someone that can help me find who the previous owner was who set up my iphone 5s, there is an activation lock and i need to contact the owners. help??? i think the iphone was stolen and then sold to me

i think my iphone was stolen before being sold to me, i need help finding out who the original owner was to unlock the phone. any ideas on numbers i could ring? im super gutted

If you are trying to activate an iPad or iPhone and it is asking for a previous owners Apple ID and password, you have encountered the Activation Lock. This is a security feature that prevents thieves from setting up and using a stolen or lost iPad or iPhone. You have no alternative. You must contact the previous owner to get permission to use the device. If you cannot contact the previous owner return the device to where you bought it and get a refund. You will never be able to activate the device and no one can help you do it.

  • IPhone activation lock

hi, i bought iPhone 4s about 4 months ago second hand and i restored my iPhone but im now stuck in activation lock and i tried reaching the previous owner in so many ways but i couldnt! but i have a bill with the IMEI number which is the same on my phone to prove that i bought this phone and that i didnt steal it.
