Check box Item property in mutiple record block

Hi,
I have migrated a number of forms from 6i to 10g. All seems to be working apart from a problem with the display of check boxes that are part of a multiple record block. The item property for the checkbox has font weight set to bold and this works fine on the 6g version. On the 10g version it is displayed as normal font weight.
Any other items in the record, text items etc are displayed in bold correctly.
As this seems to affect a lot of forms is there some patch/fix that I should have applied or is this just the way it is?
I am trying to use set_item_instance_property to set them manually but that doesn't seem to make any difference.

When using lookandfeel=generic, the colors for different Windows items (e.g., menu, check
box, window background ...etc) are taken directly from the Operating System
(OS) user settings. I tested the issue with lookandfeel=oracle and with
colorScheme set to different values, and check box tick in this case takes the
same color as the color scheme used.
I suggest then using dark color scheme to give you a similar effect as it was in Forms 6i. for example:
colorScheme=Titanium

Complete filter cannot be displayed by check box item - How to solve

Hi,
I have created a web template which has a table, chart and the navigational block.
When i execute the report and further when i want to drill down i use navigational block.
When i filter the value suppose country in the navigational block by clicking on it, i should be able to see the county values, but i get the error "Complete filter cannot be displayed by check box item".
How can i solve the problem by getting the filter values, when i further drill down

I need to change the value of a text item in a multi record block based on a change to another item's value in the same block.
Suppose there's a text item in a multi record block called dt1 which is of type date, which is changed in a particular record. I want to change the values of the another item in the same multi record block, for all other records by running a loop through all the records in multi record block. I dont want to do it on the press of a button, it should do automatically on change. Help me resolve this issue.

How do we check the check box items based on the databse fields.

I have a requirement like as mentioned below#
1. I have a combox box whcih i will be populated from database.
2. I have created two check box as "Stategric " and "Non Stategric".
3. Now when i select the combox box condition i need to select the check box items.
4. But the problem is i wil be knowing weather it is a stategric or Non stategirc based on the database column.
5. How do i need to map the database point of view and correlacte with javascript pont of view.
6. Do we need to write any Application process to achieve this task and who we can do that.

About populating a non-database item in a multi-records block

Hi, all
I have a problem about populating a non-database item in a
multi-records block. This block is set to database block with a
controlled item which needs to be populated after query. so I
create a post-query trigger, but my problem is when the records
listed in this block are less than 10 ( the record number is set
to 10), the trigger fires no problem. but when the retrieved
records are greater than 10, the error message is 'post query
trigger raised unhandled exception ora 01403'. anyone can help me
fix this problem?

Diana,
When you have an unbound item in a block and want to fetch
some data into it you need to write a post-query trigger.What
you have done is right.But it seems that u are getting a No data
found error.I am sure about how u r populating data into that
field.If u have written a select statement to fetch the data in
post-query trigger, kindly handle an exception and find out the
problem.Having a look at ur code(pos-query) would be much more
helpful for giving a better solution.Try this a let me know.

Check box item visual attributes

Hi,
I set an item visual attributes like below
background color gray15
Font weight demibold
Font style Plain
Font spacing Dense
But when executing the form this check box item does not appear clearly, it is not readable, could you suggest me some visual attributes setting to make a check box item more readable?

I think the problem is related to enabled of set_item_property of this item when it is set to property_false, the enabled property_false does not allow the visual attributes setting to display the item more readable, do you have any idea to display the item more readable when enabled is set to property_false?

To be honest I am not sure how to use that so didn't try. Could you provide me with a sample of the code that i would use. Below is what I was trying to do however all items are being checked and not just the items that match.

How to check/uncheck all check boxes in an insert-not-allowed block

Hi All,
I have a column of check box which is placed in a multirow block. This block's INSERT_ALLOWED property is set to false. The column of check box is not a database item and its insert_allowed property is to true. Now I use the following code which is in when-button-pressed trigger to control checking/unchecking all the check boxes:

It gives me 'FRM-41051 Cannot create records here' error, and it goes into an infinite loop. It looks like it never reaches the last record where the block actually contains two records.

It sounds like your block does not have a field where the cursor focus can go when looping through the records. Create a dummy non-db field in the block which is enabled and has insert/update allowed. see if it then works. If it does then you can shrink the field down to 1x1 pixels with no border so the user cannot ever click on it and it's invisible.

Check Box item in oracle forms

Hello experts,               I am new in oracle forms. I am using oracle forms 11g,weblogic server 10.3.5,oracle database 11g at windows 7 platform. I have a simple data block from base table.there is a tabular form is selected, It has four rows(records). Now I have to make 4 check boxes adjacent to records in data block in another data block.Now I have to make functionality in which only those records should be inserted into database table for which corresponding (in front of the record) check box is checked. Hi,
Commit_Form built-in function commits all the available data base fields. So you have to use separate insert into statement to complete your task.
Like...

Item property does not overrides block property ?

I have CURRENT RECORD VISUAL ATTRIBUTE set to SOMETHING for block A. i also have CURRENT RECORD VISUAL ATTRIBUTE for item AA in block A ( A.AA) . but when i run form, it looks like item AA's CURRENT RECORD VISUAL ATTRIBUTE is not in effect ?
usually item's property should override block property. but it'snot happening here.. can anyone figure out??

Set_Item_Instance_Property is a more specific control, so Set_Item_Property logically should not change it.
Create two package variables defined in a package specification in the form, trig_item and trig_record.
Change your WBP trigger:
Set_Item_Instance_Property(Pkg1.trig_item,Pkg1.trig_record, VISUAL_ATTRIBUTE,'');
Pkg1.trig_item := :System.trigger_item;
Pkg1.trig_record := :system.trigger_record;
Set_Item_Instance_Property(Pkg1.trig_item,Pkg1.trig_record, VISUAL_ATTRIBUTE,'SET');
Actually, a When-New-Item-Instance trigger might be better than the WBP trigger, so the same action would occur no matter how the cursor is moved around your form (Using Enter or Tab, or shift-Tab, or scrolling).

Check duplicate data entry in multi record block,which is a mandatory field

Dear all,
I have a situation where i have to check duplicate data entry(on a particular field,which is a mandatory field,i.e. it cannot be skipped by user without entering value) while data key-in in a Multi Record block.
As for reference I have used a logic,such as
1>In a When-Validate-Record trigger of that block I am assigning the value of that current item in Table type variable(collection type)
as this trigger fire every time as soon as i leave that record,so its assigning the value of that current time.And this process continues
then
2>In a When-Validate-Item trigger of that corresponding item(i.e. the trigger is at item level) has been written,where it compares the value of that current item and the value stored in Table type variable(collection type) of When-Validate-Record trigger.If the current item value is matched with any value stored in Table type variable I am showing a message of ('Duplicate Record') following by raise_form_trigger failure
This code is working fine for checking duplicate value of that multi record field
The problem is that,if user enter the value in that field,and then goes to next field,enter value to that field and then press 'Enter Query 'icon,the bolth Validate trigger fires.As result first when-validate record fires,which stores that value,and then when-validate-item fires,as a result it shows duplicate record message
Please give me a meaningful logic or code for solving this problem
Any other logic to solve this problem is also welcome

first of all thanks .your logic worked,but still i have some little bit of problem,
now the requirement is a master detail form where both master and detail is multirecord ,where detail cannot have duplicate record,
such as..........
MASTER:--
A code
A1
A2
DETAIL:--
D code
d1
d2 <-valid as for master A1 , detail d1 ,d2 are not duplicate
d2 <--invalid as as for master A1 , detail d2 ,d2 are duplicate
validation rule: A Code –D Code combination is unique. The system will stop users from entering duplicate D Code for a A Code. Appropriate error message will be displayed.*
actually i am facing a typical problem,the same logic i have been applied in detail section ,its working fine when i am inserting new records.problem starts when i query,after query in ' a ' field say 2 records (i.e. which has been earlier saved) has been pasted,now if i insert a new record with the value exactly same with the already present value in the screen(i.e. value populated after query) its not showing duplicate.................could u tell me the reason?and help me out...............its urgent plzzzzzzzzz

Editing record items in a multi-record block - 1 record at a time.

I have the following scenario: Currently in my multi-record block, to edit an item of a record, the user has to double click on the record to enable the 'save changes' button. However, I want to turn the navigation to all other records turned off. The only way the user should be able to edit other records is save changes first, then again double click on the desired record to re-enable the 'save changes' button (at this time navigation to all other records should be turned off). ie., the user should be able to edit 1 record at a time (At any given time, I won't be having many records in the block which the user may have to modify).
How can this be achieved?

That is pretty odd requirement, but this might work:
When the user double-clicks the record, enable the Save button, and set a value in any column of the record to its current value. This will cause Forms to set the record status to CHANGED, and will not permit navigation away from the record until the When-validate-record trigger runs successfully.
In the Save button, start a non-repeating timer to run maybe 20 milliseconds, then issue a Validate(Record_Scope); command. Check form_success then commit_form.
In the when-validate-record trigger: Do any record validation that may be necessary, and Raise Form_Trigger_Failure if anything is wrong. Then check for the existence of your Save button's timer. If it does NOT exist, issue a message like: "You must Save the changes first" and Raise Form_Trigger_Failure; If the timer exists, do not raise the error.

Preventing disabling of check box - item okay in MIGO

Dear all,
In the MIGO transaction - during goods receipt for subcontractor material, when the item (incoming) is checked as item okay - automatically the child material (Material sent to subcontractor) is also activated thereby to enable 543 movement.
Unfortunately some of the users are disabling the check box (for the material sent to the subcontractor). This prevents depletion of stock from the subcontractor but inflates the stock of the incoming material.
Is there any way - either by authorisation check to prevent users disabling the check box or other methods?
Experts suggestion is required in this regard.

tell your abaper to put the logic like
parent ID and subcomponent ID need to select
if either of two is not selected
then error message will prompt not to save the GR doc since subcomponent is unselected.

Linking a library to a list - filtering data per selected drop down / check box item

Good day,
I am rather new to SharePoint and have run into a dilemma. Is it possible to link a library to a list, then create a parent-child relationship between the the department (list) to document (library)?
Example - I have a library that contains 100+ documents, the library is filtered using groups/subgroups.
IT
-> IT TX (30 docs)
-> IT WI (10 docs)
Biz Ops
-> Biz Ops WI (8 docs)
-> Biz Ops CA (5 docs)
In the list I created I have departments as a required field, and a dropdown tool that shows the 5 departments that contain items that need to be grouped together. (Biz Ops, IT, HR, Sales, and Compliance)
I have linked the library of documents to the form (list), using "Lookup (information already on this site)". All the documents in the library appear in the selection box within the list. However is it possible to first select a department which
then filters documents only tied to said department? So at the beginning of the list you choose the department you wish to browse the documents, then it filters out all documents not related to that department?
My apologies if this is long winded and confusing. Your help is most appreciative.

According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to filter the corresponding documents from a Document Library when you selected a department in a List.
I recommend that you can follow the steps as below to implement it in your environment.
1. Create a new Web Part Page and add the Document Library and the List web part into it.
2. Click the List web part, click the current web part’s drop-down arrow, choose Connections, Send Row of Data To, and then choose the Document Library web part.
3. Click the Document Library web part, choose the “All Items” view from the Selected View, click the current web part’s drop-down arrow, choose Connections, Get Filter Values From,
and then choose the List web part.
4. Open the Configure Connection – Webpage Dialog, choose the “Department” column from the Provider Field Name drop-down list and choose the “Group” column from the Consumer Field
Name drop-down list.
5. Click Apply, OK button, save the Web Part Page and test it in your environment.

Multiple selection should enable the check box item next to the field

Hi,
I want multiple selection for " Environment" field in the Form. Once muliple values are selected, user needs to see a checkbox next to all the values selected in Environment field.
Checkbox field should be called as ' Implemented'.
For ex. In Environment Field, I selected three values, I should see checkbox against each selected environments:
col 1:I Environment col:2 Implemented
Env1 X
Env2 X
Env2 X
X-> refers to checkbox.
Please suggest something if anyone have tried this one.

          set_item_property('BLOCK.TXT_CHECKBOX',VISIBLE,PROPERTY_TRUE);
          set_item_property('BLOCK.TXT_CHECKBOX',ENABLED,PROPERTY_TRUE);
          set_item_property('BLOCK.TXT_CHECKBOX',NAVIGABLE,PROPERTY_TRUE);
