Check image details like resolution, dimensions, color mode, file format, file size and file name

I have 1000 images in a folder, i want to check their details like resolution, dimensions, color mode, file format, file size and file name into excel with nice user interface.
Pls help me, m just learning ABCD in VB.

The code in the file at the link below might give you a starting point. Firstly it gives you the opportunity to list all of the properties of a file type and then you can select the properties that you want and the second utility gives you the
opportunity to list the selected properties for all files in a selected folder.
Download and extract the file and open the file in Excel.
Click the first button List Meta Data for One File (Run first)
Navigate to and Select any ONE individual photo file. (Photo files because that is what you indicated you are working with.)
You will be presented with a list of the available properties for the file. Where the Item value is blank, that property is not recorded for the particular file. Different file types have different properties and it is also dependent on how the file
was created but generally if all of the files come from the same source then the same properties are recorded for all files from that source.
Now insert a Y in column D for all of the required properties. (Don't select any with the Item value blank)
Click the second button List Selected Meta Data for all Files in a Folder (Run after selecting the required properties).
Next select a folder where the files reside. (You might need to back up to the folder if dialog is blank because it will not show individual files because the code only allows Folders.)
You will be presented with a report listing all of the selected properties for all of the files in the selected folder.
The user interface is not that great but you can improve on that if you want to with a Userform as you get to know VBA a little better.
Download the file from here.

  • Image Size and File Type

For image files we should be able to see the size of the image in inches in the details section.
Also for any file, we should be able to quickly see the exact file type (Illustrator CS document or Illustrator CS2 document), not just "Illustrator document" which is absolutely useless.

    Stan,
You can see the file type by hovering over the file in Library view and it will show the file name followed by the extension like jpg, nef or tiff.
Alternatively in library mode go to grid view it will pixel size of the files as well as the name of the file withthe format.
If you are not able to see that go to View>View Option.
Check the option show header with label
    Hope thatt helps.

  • A mode to change font size and bold in every page?

Due to problems described here https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1012057?esab=a&s=&r=0&as=s I have clear that I need something (an extension, maybe) that allow me to recognize and change font size and bold of the fonts in every page.
    Does exist something like this?
    Maybe also for bookmarks toolbar...

    Hi RichterB,
You can change this in the Content Settings of Firefox. Go to "3 bar" menu and click on Options. Click on content and uncheck "Let websites choose their own styles" and select a bold font type.
    Also try [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/stylish/ Sytlish].

  • Update to FF 23 changed resolution from 1600x900 to 1280x720, increased window size, and made text big and images and videos blurry

After upgrading to ff 23 from ff21 on my Windows 8 ultrabook laptop, the browser window blew up to fill the entire screen. Web pages stopped displaying properly - text is big, but images are blurry, including those on the ff toolbar, and videos are pixelated and unviewable.
I tried the layout.css.devPixelsPerPx fix - it didn't work. The text became unreadably small instead.
I noticed that javascript window resolution in Firefox 23 is showing a resolution of 1280x720 instead of the 1600x900 that it should be. How do I get FF 23 to display in 1600x900 resolution?

Yes, the screen.width and screen.height are adjusted for the device pixel ratio based on your zoom level. (Demo page: [http://dev.jeffersonscher.com/resolution.html])
It sounds as though your Firefox 23 is picking up a Windows setting of 125% zoom. If you change layout.css.devPixelsPerPx to 1.0, Firefox should display at your display's native resolution instead of your Windows resolution (100% instead of 125%). This will indeed make the text in the toolbar area a lot smaller, but the content area should look the same as Firefox 21. Does it look a lot different? How much zoom (e.g., Ctrl+) is needed to make it look like you remember?
Meanwhile, you can use this extension to adjust the toolbar area if you stick with the 1.0 setting: [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/theme-font-size-changer/ Theme Font & Size Changer]. Clicking its icon and changing the font size from "Normal" to 14 or 15 usually works pretty well. Once you re done with your adjustments, you can use the Customize feature to take its icon off the toolbar. ([[Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars]])

  • The issue is related to firefox 3.5 but is also seen in firefox 3.6 the images rendered like a curtain effect if they are not preloaded and the page builds up in part rather than building all at once and showing

When we traverse from one page to the other and this is not different php pages, its the same html page only dom manipulation. to show different gui one after the other. Now on these screens there are some images that are preloaded like loaded upfront and some are pulled at run time when user visits that screen. All images that are pulled on run time show a curtain effect. This is problem number 1, we cannot preload these images since the systems are having only 250mb ram.
Now the other problem is that when the user goes from one screen to the other the entire screen builds up in one shot on ff 1.0.8 but on ff 3.5 or 3.6 it builds up in parts
Do we need to change some configuration in firefox so that the curtain effect is eliminated, Is there a setting in firefox 3.5 that can make the rendering more like ff 1.0.8 or ff 2.
Is there any different that you suggest we do our dom manipulations or some ways that we should not do if that is the cause of the issue. This is very urgent since we are loosing users due to performance problems

  • I would like to know how to increase the window size and message font size on the the Three Button Dialog.vi

I like using the Three Button Dialog .vi. However, I am doing a job were I need to use a larger font size. I tried to adjust the core vi but could not make it do what I wanted. Any help would be great.

1: VI Properties Window Size- Check maintain proportions of window for different monitor resolutions.  (Your users will thank you)
    Jeff,
Why do you think that is a good idea?  When I opened your VI on my screen, the buttons were cut off at the bottom, and there was a slight cutoff on the right side.  Without scrollbars or the ability to resize the panel, (which I generally wouldn't want on a dialog box anyway) there is no way to be able to see the whole dialog.
Did your VI show all of the buttons and show all of the text box?  On mine it looked like this.
What was your screen resolution and your monitor aspect ratio?  Mine is 1680 x 1050 for a 16:10 ratio.  I think you will have problems with checking this box.  I would recommend unchecking it.  Suppose you programmed on a 16:10 screen, but someone else has a 16:9, or even a 4:3.  That is going to screw up the appearance of the dialog unless you take the time to resize the buttons and text inside the dialog.  (And I feel checking the resize option inside the Window Appearance settings just never works right either.)
If I was the user, I'd appreciate a dialog box that wasn't cut off.

  • Color Mode for Photoshop EPS images not shown...

In Bridge CS2 we can see the File Properties > Color Mode - CMYK/RGB on Photoshop EPS images.
Bridge CS3 & CS4 the Color Mode is blank.  It doesn't matter if the Photoshop EPS are RGB or CMYK.
Neither color modes show.  The color mode is present (RGB & CMYK) with TIFF and Photoshop (.psd) images.
Why is the Color Mode blank (not present) with Photoshop EPS images in Bridge CS3 & CS4?

  • Monochrome (RAW) images (from Canon EOS 5D) after importing back to color mode

After importing monochrome (black and white) images their thumbnails appear as such but after a couple of seconds they are reverted to color mode. Import XMP Metadata from file does not change anything. Do I overlook or miss something here?

THe initial BW preview is the one from the camera, then LR builds its own ignoring everything but WB and setting its standrard default. You can create a Develop preset for BW than looks similar to your cameras initial output preview and apply it to all importing images when you shoot 'BW' digital.

  • ,psd and .ai don't show color mode info

    G5 10.4.11, Bridge 2.1.1.9
I have set up Bridge Preferences to show Color Mode when viewing thumbnails (Preferences > Additional Lines of Thumbnail Metadata > Show: Color Mode).
But, when viewing thumbnails, I can only see the color mode listed with .tiff, .jpeg and .gif files, but not .psd and .ai files. Am I missing something here?
I am looking for a useful tool that will identify all non-CMYK images, easily, as we use .ai and .psd files almost exclusively.

Ramon- the reason we had removed profiles from files that already had them:
ID CS3 sizes were abnormally large. We had a template that was 90MB, with lots of small images on the master pages. When saved as an .inx file and opened in CS2, that same file was much, much smaller (sorry, don't have the actual size). We then noticed that profiles in the .psd files increased the file size dramatically, especially for files that are very small in the first place. For example: a profile would increase the layered file size from 220k to 928k, and for the same flattened file, from 72k to 928k.
This in of itself might be OK, but the InDesign file now seems to include the profile info. When the profiles were removed from all the images, this 90MB InDesign template decreased to about 15MB.
We were told that our printer strips out the profiles anyway, so we figured we didn't need the profiles at this stage of the layout.

  • 'Darken' behaves like 'Multiply' in CMYK mode

In RGB documents, the 'Darken' transparency blend mode doesn't change colours, but only shows a colour if it is darker that the colour underneath it.
In CMYK documents, 'Darken' acts differently. It does the same thing as 'Multiply': it darkens the top colour based on the colour underneath. In CMYK mode, 'Darken' and 'Multiply' seem to do exactly the same thing.
How can I get an object in a CMYK document to do what 'Darken' does in an RGB document - only show if it has a darker value than the colour underneath?
(side question: why does 'Darken' behave like 'Multiply' in CMYK mode? What's the point of having two different blend modes that do the same thing?)
Here's Adobe's official description of Darken. This matches how it behaves in RGB, but not how it behaves in CMYK:
    Darken
Selects the base or blend color—whichever is darker—as the resulting color. Areas lighter than the blend color are replaced. Areas darker than the blend color do not change.

Okay, so these two shapes (white stroke, solid fill) with 'Darken' blend mode look like this in RGB mode, which matches the description and expectations:
...but they look like this with 'Darken' blend mode when we switch to CMYK.
Looking at it more closely, it seems like it might be something to do with the different seperations: in the RGB example the overlap area isn't exactly the same as the normal blue as I thought it was at first.
It's also not always exactly the same as multiply as it was the first couple of times I tested: multiply seems to often blend darker.
So is there anything that simply only shows the darker of the colours?

My illustrator CS6 crashes when i try to open an AI file with RGB color mode. I worked on this file yesterday and changed it to RGB mode. Today i tried to open the file again but illustrator won't open it and crashes. It does work when i want to open a file with CMYK color mode.

Have you tried trashing the prefs?

  • Spot and Process colors - Color Mode confusion?

I have a question about how to choose colors in the New Color Swatch window. I think that I understand the difference between spot and process colors, but the dropdown options confuse me because whether I choose Spot or Process in the Color Type dropdown, the same list of libraries appears in the Color Mode dropdown. How does that work, or why does that happen? Is it a conversion? For example, if I choose Process as the Color Type, but then choose Pantone Solid Coated in the Color Mode, it shows me the colors available, but aren't the Pantone libraries for spot colors? And if I choose Spot as the Color Type, but then pick CMYK in the Color Mode, it gives the CMYK sliders. But shouldn't I be forced to pick from a Pantone library for a spot color? I would appreciate any explanations of this as I want to make sure that I pick the appropriate colors for my printed projects. Thank you!

You can create a spot color with a custom CMYK mix (and even name it the same as a library color if you want). The utility here is that you can create a custom spot color with a custom process conversion, or use your own own conversion numbers for one of the book colors if you think you have a better mix. I recently had to do a special mix for a Pantone spot conversion to fit a particualr press in order to get a better match to some other materials. That's how we handled it, though I did it by aliasing the pantone swatch to my custom spot and then changing that to process in the ink manager, rather than messing with the library color directly, which meant I could have either the custom or the book values, depending on the settings I chose, if the job went to another press.
There are, I believe, four sets of process libraries included in ID. The Pantone Process libraries are sets of stepped percentage mixes of the four process inks and have names that start with DS followed by some numbers. I think TrueMatch is a simialr system, though I've never worked with a printer who used it. Pantone Color Bridge and Solid to Process libraries are both process simulations of the Pantone Solid spot libraries. The Color Bridge is newer, and I think is largely replacing the solid to process.
You  can get printed swatch books for any of the included libraries (spot and process) and you should do so for any library that you are going to use to specify color. Spot colors in particular may not render well on your monitor, and the press operator couldn't care less what you see on your screen. He's going to pull out his swatch book to verify that the color he puts on the page is the same as you specified.

  • Adobe Camera RAW (All Versions) Import Canon .CR2 / RAW images with an orange / green color cast.

All versions of Adobe Camera RAW including the latest 7.3 import .CR2 images with a greenish / orange color cast.
Tested on 7D, and 5D III
Makes Hardwood floors, and flesh tones look abysmal.
Canon's Digital Photo Professional renders the colors fine, as does ACDSee 5.0 Pro (when viewing)  Exporting from ACDSee however is another story as things look even worse than Adobe.  DPP can export perfectly.
Changes to Color Gammut / Space have little or no effect.

    Good day!

  • Illustrator CS6 color mode default CMYK opening CS5 files as RGB

    Hi.
Having a bit of trouble as Illustrator CS6 (that I've set to a default color mode of CMYK) is opening CS5 CMYK files as RGB color profile. I don't get a choice. And so it is messing with my color palettes when I convert back to a CMYK color profile.
Can anyone help? I can't find any answers when I search.
Any assistance appreciated. It's potentially going to kill a lot of time if I can't fix this.
    Thanks

    Hi Rachel,
You can not set a default color mode to make Illustrator open all files in a certain color mode. A file opens in the mode it was saved.
What makes you think that the CS5 files that open as RGB were CMYK and not RGB?
